My wife and I decided to check out Perea's Tijuana Bar one Saturday. We'd heard about it and wanted to try something different in Corrales. We had a wonderful time. Perea's Tijuana Bar is what I would call old New Mexican in cuisine as well as atmosphere. The service was great. There were boxes and things like that around, but we both got the feeling that they were short on space, so they made do with what they had. I will say that the portion sizes were somewhat smaller than we're used to when going to other eateries in the Albuquerque area. Still this is a nice place to eat at and enjoy.

Loved this place from the moment we walked in!!! Outstanding service and food!!! I had not been there for close to 30 years!!! It holds the same "magic" Kudos to the Pereas for keeping the traditions Impressive bar!!! Very well stocked with not only the regular choices but many unique options! We had a birthday party of 20 and still had outstanding service!!! Lots of beautiful rooms/ choices to ea I can't wait to go back!!!

    Great atmosphere....

A must place to eat in Corrales...the best true New Mexican homemade cuisine in the ABQ metro area. The stuff sopapilla is amazing...with green or red, it's all good! And of course, the Huevos rancheros is a staple. Don't forget to ask for the garnish (lettuce & tomatoes) to round out your selection...and what the hay, add the onions & sour cream too! All entries are served with sopapillas or homage tortilla (both are fantastic). A local favorite for generations. The owner, John is inviting and personal. John knows all there is to know about beer, wine, and libations galore. And the staff are a hoot!

Been trying to get here for awhile now and finally came when they were open. We didn't get there in time to eat but did hang out in the bar and had some really good drinks. Service was friendly and prompt. We did have chips and salsa and they were delicious. Love the history of Perea's and would definitely come back!

John Perea, owner of Perea's Tijuana Bar, is the ultimate bar-owner gentleman who'd be cast in a movie set in the classic 1950's. He knows every customer's name and drink order by heart; knows the recent medical scare the older man at the corner bar stool had 2 days ago, and would welcome 1st-timers to his establishment with an on-the-house bottle of limited-edition Marble brew, if after some conversation he discovered that's your beverage of choice We were meandering through our little Village on a windy bike and wine tour when we last-minute decided to ride by Perea's to see if the "gates were open". To our great fortune, they were! (Note to the wise: the posted hours are a suggestion, definitely open at those times, but John, the gentleman, will stay open for the local peeps to continue their conversations and libations into the evening hours...) We were welcomed to a beautiful adobe building with heaters a-roaring and a bar top slightly too tall for our stools (just the way we like it) and the kindest staff you could find, very proud of their boss, Mr. John Perea. We all ordered frito pies, sopapillas, and tortillas (all homemade from scratch, as well as one green chile cheeseburger, because, well, why not? I felt like I was in someone's home, cared for, and cared about. You don't get this very often anymore in restaurant/bars. I was one proud Corraleña. Let me tell you. We were always checked on, taken care of, and our food was home cooked comfort at its finest. We cannot wait to go back! Look for the open gates!

Nothing has changed really inside it's pretty much the same. That's a good thing in my view. So for ambience I give four stars. The inside is attractive with a lot of windows. Outside there's a nice patio which would be great to sit at if the wind is not too bad. For service, I give four stars. Service is on pretentious and just down to earth. I think some of the people that used to be there at boxing baee are still there. If you are a younger soul who likes to play arcade games there are several there. Again, they were there when boxing bear was there. So for me the reason I give four stars is because this is a wonderful place to just come and be with friends. There is no high pressure to purchase expensive entrees or drink excessively. That is what I love about this place. As far as the kitchen and food goes, it's pretty humble. I would call this authentic lowdown tacos and burritos and nachos which is equivalent to pub food. My disappointment with the menu is that there are no really interesting options such as enchiladas. I'm an enchilada girl I admit it.. so I did not actually get any food although all of my friends did. I also don't drink alcohol any longer so my favorite beverage which is an athletic IPA was available in a can and I was very happy for that. All in all, if you like humble easy inexpensive tacos burritos nachos pub food go for that. If you're looking for a place to hang out with some friends and have an easy conversation without too much overhead noise from music or TVs do that. This location is really good for groups who want to hang out. I would suggest to management that they consider putting some music meaning live bands on the schedule here and there. This location is also appropriate for music bingo, karaoke, and trivia along with live band performances. Or even just have solo guitar players come in. I love this place before I still love it. I'll be back.

Tacos are $4 each, comes with two different salsas and for $4 more you can get beans and rice. It was so good! I had a nice dunkle (their beer). Sat at the bar. Service was excellent. Let me start by saying I USED to come here a lot. I must admit as well, that was a long time ago…read more I imagined that I could expect the food to be just as good as I remembered it, but it wasn't. Made a visit back recently with some friends on one of our girls nights out to catch up. The visit was great, and I am glad that we get a chance to get together every month or two. Just not sure we'll pick O'hares again. I ordered a cup of the french onion soup and the sliders from appetizer menu. The french onion soup was good, I can say that. The sliders is a different story. They came with six sliders. That was literally it. Meat and bread. Nothing else. No cheese, no garnish, not even sliced pickles. That alone was $17! I was shocked when I saw the bill! You can typically order a burger with all the fixings and fries for that price or less. Our service was fair. Our server was nice enough and checked in on us. But the food was very underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend them, but you could may have a better experience than me. Just don't order the sliders! Then, to top it off, after ordering dessert, we are chit chatting and finishing our drinks. We slowly start to notice that the servers were grabbing their purses and heading to the front. Apparently they had been closed for almost 30 minutes but no one came to inform us that they were closed for the night! LOL! Silly place.

I got a salad and it was OK but very expensive. Looked at the menu and didn't really see anything that looked bad but didn't see anything that really jumped out.
