Mei took the time to assess my nails, explain the options to me, and recommended hard gel instead for the soft French manicure look I wanted. I came in with healthy, well-grown nails and left disappointed on every level. My cuticles were butchered. They were perfectly healthy before, and now they're choppy and damaged. She also cut my nails too short despite me showing her a reference photo of exactly what I wanted -- a squared shape. She clearly didn't know how to execute it. The nail polish application is chunky and uneven. Instead of using a brush to clean up the edges, she was using her own fingernail to scrape along the sides of my nails. I had to ask her multiple times to stop because it was uncomfortable and scratching me. On top of all that -- no hand massage, no cuticle oil, no top coat. Basic steps that should be standard were completely skipped. I'm especially frustrated because I called the owner beforehand and asked to be booked with someone skilled. This was supposedly their best. I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon to anyone who values their nails or their time. This is what 'their best' looks like. Horrible.

I saw in her comfy chair and she showed me the many various OPI colors she had to choose from. I choose a dark plum color and she started the process. I like that she was gentle and careful when shaping my nails. She also did a paraffin treatment to help moisturize and keep my hands soft. The paraffin wasn't too hot either like other places. Carmen then used a special technique when polishing my nails to make it last longer. My nails literally looked like gel nails although it was only polish. I love them! Her prices are reasonable and she has specials on Tuesdays. I like that Carmen was a pleasure to talk to. She was really funny. It was a great way for me to start off my Saturday morning. I will be coming back.

One for Groupon pedicure and twice for nail polish change. This time I re-purchase Groupon for a pedicure. Groupon doesn't indicate first time customer only. So I purchased it again. I texted Kim on Thursday for an appointment on Friday the following week. But then I needed to reschedule to earlier date. Kim was able to accommodate me. I really appreciated this. When I got there, she asked if this was my second time using Groupon. I said yes. And she seemed to be annoyed by that. She said Groupon for first time customer only. Again no where on the Groupon mentioned that. I double checked Groupon. She didn't recognize me. (Probably because I came total 3 times before while pregnant). She said she allowed me to use the Groupon, but next time it will be full price. I agreed to this. That is fair. However, I felt like being ignore because I used Groupon. Kim offered two other customers coffee, tea, snack. But not me. I didn't care for coffee or snack. Just felt being treated differently and a little uncomfortable. Hence, three start reviews mainly on the customer services. Kim didn't do my pedicure this time. Another girl did it. I didn't get her name. She doesn't speak much English. She did an ok job. She was a little rough. I felt little pinch when she did my pedicure. But overall her work was good. I do like Kim work somewhat. I haven't got nail art. So can't say anything about that.
