Great experience with Perfect Moving this weekend! Moved from a 5th floor walkup in the East Village to 4th floor on the UES and they really hustled to manage all the stairs on both ends. Treated my stuff carefully (one small ding in a dresser) and went above and beyond in taking what didn't fit in my dad's car without nickel and diming me for being a bit over on boxes and the last minute miscellaneous stuff that always piles up at the end of packing. Didn't love the customer service call from the office at the end of the move asking how everything went on speaker phone with the guys standing right there though not the end of the world considering everything really did go very smoothly. Would definitely use again, especially for price. read more

Unprofessional and Disrespectful Behavior from Mover. During my recent move with Perfect Moving, I encountered disrespectful behavior from one mover, including attempts to inflate charges by adding unlisted items. This was a long distance move, and there was no attempts to communicate with me if the unlisted items should have been included. This resulted in an attempt to increase my bill by $200. As they had my items snd were in transit, I found this behavior manipulative, despite a representative from Perfect Moving claims that they were transparent. I tipped $30, which I now admit was too little. However, at the time I was frustrated by the additional charges and the movers rude behavior to my family in NJ that I was not thinking clearly. I accepted what I read on google without thinking more about it. Move costs depend heavily on time of year - for example my move in summer would have been 2-3X higher for the same move, which makes the 20% expectation unrealistic. I did not expect that the mover would then aggressively demand a 20% tip, and proceeded to confront and intimidate me, making me feel unsafe in my own home. He cited you'd never tip less than 20% at a restaurant, etc. and proceeded to yell at me he wasn't happy with me as a customer. However, tipping is discretionary and had I behaved as this mover during my time in service, I would have immediately been fired. It wasn't until I was shaking, in tears and demanded he leave my home that he stopped yelling at me. I had high expectations for this move - and even went with them over another company who had quoted 250$ less for the move. This unprofessional conduct was deeply distressing. These guys are UNREAL. They were out of my old apartment and into my new apartment in under 2 hours. Very friendly, funny, and affordable. I did the $350 van move, and I was skeptical there was a catch and they would be charging me for random extra things, but it was literally just $350. Everyone on the phone was patient and nice too, I called them probably 10x to confirm things and change items in my packing list. Perfect moving was literally perfect!!!!!!!!!! Here's my long story about how Perfect Moving came to the rescue. My mother "thought" she booked another moving company for yesterday morning. Not being internet savvy, she made a mistake and the truck didn't show up. We had all taken the day off work to help my mom move so we were pretty desperate to find a moving company for the same day. By now it was almost 1pm. And it's the 28th of the month. We called so many places but, understandably, they gently laughed. Peter answered the phone at Perfect Moving, and with his calm voice I knew he'd be our knight in shining armor. He worked his magic, and somehow, at 5pm, Bob the Mover and his partner showed up ready to work. Bob is a beast who takes his job very seriously, but we made him crack a smile every now and then ;) The partner, whose name I didn't catch because he was mostly loading and unloading the truck, was a sweetheart. I am in awe of how quickly and skillfully they moved my mom's stuff. Not counting the drive to the new place, I think the move took about 3 hours (1BR first floor to a 1 BR, 3rd floor, with elevator). I will also mention that there was a heat advisory, and sweat dripped off of me while I sat there doing nothing, so I don't understand how Bob did all that back and forth without fainting. I needed help unloading my Uhaul after an out-of-state move into NYC. My things needed to be taken up to a fifth-floor walk-up (yes, no elevator!). I truly only needed a "helper" to get things off the truck as cross-state moving is incredibly expensive. From start to finish, the company was kind, professional and accurate. However, they emailed me, unprompted, saying they wanted to compensate me for my poor experience. They offered me an additional $350. I wish I was as good at my job as Perfect Moving is at theirs. The entire experience was, well...Perfect. From the start, the process couldn't have been more seamless. When I got the quote, they didn't act like sleazy used car salesmen (sadly I had this experience elsewhere). Their prices were reasonable, their emails were clear, their reps were easy to deal with, and the logistics in terms of documentation and payment were seamless. Now, let me get to game day - just incredible. They put on absolute clinic in how to move an apartment's worth of stuff. They were like a well-oiled machine. All the big pieces were wrapped and packed without breaking. Everything was properly logged for storage. The loaded truck looked immaculate. Oh and they were properly dressed, with masks, and extremely professional. Honestly, the only reason I noticed this part was because another apartment was moving that day, and the other company had twice as many people who looked disheveled and the truck looked like a nightmare - in fact, I saw a random person off the street helping those other movers keep a mattress upright. Here's my experience / feedback: The disappointments: -No call / heads up that they're on the way. -Heard them drop a box down the stairs and didn't say anything when they came back. -We were told boxes were too heavy and needed to repack multiple boxes. -Didn't wrap all furniture (arm chair / tv stand ) - despite saying they would in the quote. -Didn't reassemble bed before leaving (Quote stated they would) -Get a customer service call at the end of the move to see how everything went while the movers are staring you down like Ben Stiller in Happy Gilmore. As I said to them at the end of the move, it really was a perfect moving experience. I appreciated how they provided an estimate based on a video call, as it felt more accurate than a list of items that I come up with on my own. They were flexible with my budget, securely packed my furniture, and moved my home within the estimated time. I also rented their bins, which arrived in good and clean condition. It was great not having to buy a bunch of cardboard boxes, and the bin rental encouraged me to unpack in time for their pick-up a week later. Absolutely amazing movers! Booking them was fairly simple and all via Yelp and their prices extremely reasonable for a studio/one bedroom apartment. I provided them photos of items being moved and etc. Then it was just waiting for the moving day to arrive. They (Almos and his partner) was given then 9-11am window and they arrive right at 9 with plenty of communication and they went above and beyond to make sure my move was painless and stress free. They were indeed very strong men haha! After the move was completed they had one more surprise for me... it was a Funko! They saw in the photos of furniture I was moving few Funko cases and wow they really went above and beyond... would highly recommend them all for moves! read more

I had a really nice experience with Perfect Moving. This was an interstate move of a studio apartment and I booked 2 weeks in advance of the moving date. I needed to update my inventory a couple of times and Brad was very helpful in getting updated quotes for my move and the price was reasonable. I packed everything myself in advance and had the boxes and bags numbered to match the inventory. All the movers had to do was wrap furniture with blankets and secure everything for transport. This preparation made the move very easy and the moving crew had everything loaded out of my apartment and into the truck in 45 minutes flat. It was easy to get a quote and in the weeks before actually making the move, communication was clear and helpful with all questions answered quickly and efficiently. The moving team itself was second to none. They asked if by chance I would be ready to have everything loaded thst evening instead of the morning after to make things less stressful. Please think of the number of people who took this offer before trusting Yelp as a reliable representation of their customers experiences. *** I would not recommend Perfect Moving after hiring them to assist with my long distance move. When booking my move, I was asked to provide a drop off date for my items and did so. I was told by my contact that the movers would not leave NYC until that date. Considering there is a 12 day window for them dropping off my mattress+ I adjusted my plans accordingly. This information, that they provided to me in writing, was incorrect and they did not clarify this until 2 days before the window started. When I discovered this and pressed further they went dark. Then they called me 12, not the guaranteed 24, hours before they were going to drop off my things (the date I was told they would be *leaving*). I let them know this was not possible and, despite the fact that this was due to misinformation they gave me, they charged me $900 to adjust the date. When they did drop off my things, they sent only 2 people, rather than the 3 they sent for the pick up. They then propped open a door to my building in an alley way and left my things and the door unattended during the entirety of the move. I had to sit downstairs to guard my things. This was completely inappropriate and not something I would expect from a NYC-based company. Before booking, definitely consider how stressful using a less than moving company can be, for any but particularly a long distance move, as well as the mental and financial toll of an unexpected $900 charge. read more
