I live in San Diego, but travel back and forth to LA often. Lake Forest is about the halfway point on my trip. Today traffic was really too much to bear, so I decided to pull off the freeway and turned to Yelp for a good place for a mani/pedi. The staff at Perfect Nails was so welcoming, even though I was a walk-in. The shop is bright and clean with a large selection of polish. The techs are gentle and do thorough work. Their services had a unique touch I haven't seen in other places; the use of hot stones after the massage for both the manicure and pedicure. I really enjoyed both services and would definitely come here again. If you're lucky enough to live in the area, you should make this your regular salon. read more

I asked for a manly pedicure and manicure just to clean up everything. They got started right away and hooked it up. The massage was the best part! This is the BEST nail salon around. Everyone is super friendly and there has never been a nail problem they could not fix or design challenge they could not make perfect. I have had everything from pencils to apples, blood splatter to zombies and loving stick figures passing hearts. The entire staff is amazing. I am in every two weeks, more because i want a new design rather than necessity due to chipped polish. Gel is the way to go! Not so perfect nails, Don't know why this place got over 4 stars. Yes they're nice and yes they speak English however that does not make up for the horrible job they did on my nails. A simple fill turned into an hour and a half long event. After all that my nails still don't look right. He put way too much powder and they are still super thick He seem very inexperienceed I was so irritated i didn't even bother getting gel i just got a top coat so i could get out as fast as possible. A quiet little place, I went here with my mom. We booked an appointment in advance, which was good considering they only have about 5 chairs. While we were there several people has to be turned away because it is so small (there isn't even a place to wait inside). The owner is the saving grace of this place, you can tell she really cares and she is very quick and efficient and she helped me choose a great color for my toes. She did both my mom's and my pedicure, but allowed other people to to the 'prep' (massage, scrub, etc) as well as manicure. My mom was really pleased with her services; she got a massage and callous treatment. I however was far less than thrilled, I got stuck with a very distracted and moody guy named Kevin. Kevin paid hardly any attention to me the entire time. He constantly got up to check his phone or do thing across the room without so much as an 'excuse me'. When he did my nails, I would say about half the time he was looking distractedly in another direction and was definitely not gentle. He left oil and solutions all over my feet, legs, toes and hands (a sensation I could have really done without). He used towels which had been previously dirtied, and several times he dropped things on the ground, and without sanitizing it, continued to use it on me. His supplies were stored haphazard on a rack, so he had to dig around a lot to find anything, and everything was left opened, messy or both. When he 'asked' what color I wanted for my nails he ran over me and just said that he'd use the color I had on my toes (a very very dark brownish red which I felt uncomfortable with) and did a layer on both hands before I had a chance to protest. When I did raise concerns he got mad and told me 'well why didn't you say that before I did anything'. I apologized and told him that it was just too strong and he remained huffy while he took off the polish and replaced it with something much more suitable (a lovely glimmery coffee and milk brown). When I got home I looked more closely and realized he'd not even completely covered two nails. I called and asked to come back in and have it fixed and hoped I wouldn't have to deal with Kevin again. This was not the case, when I did go back he plopped me down and aggressively asked which nails and why. I told him, so he removed the polish and then proceeded to do the exact same crappy job. If I ever came here again, it would have to ensure that he didn't come within 5 feet of me or my nails. And it would only be because someone else dragged me here, for this junk I'd never come back by myself. read more

Any place where I can get a spa manicure and pedicure (they carry OPI and Essie), a hand massage, a neck wrap, and hot stone leg massage whilst simultaneously karaoking to my fav songs all for the price of $30 is going to be my favorite place in the world. OH- and once I brought approximately 3 bottles of champagne with me to celebrate a friend's birthday and we all got drunk and sang together. I walked in to this salon to get a fill. They didn't greet me immediately and when they did a man asked if I had an appointment, which is ironic since it was empty. You'd think they'd be happy to have a customer walk in. Then I walked out and passed the guy that "greeted" me talking to another customer and he actual chuckled as he saw I was leaving. First impression: I walk in and I was greeted very warmly and nicely by the women inside! A very welcoming place. I told them I wanted a mani pedi and I was seating immediately. I got a deluxe pedicure first. Perfectly warm water, great massage chair. My lady even gave me a warm aromatherapy neck pillow, how awesome! I told them I wanted the deluxe pedicure. It starts with her applying a callous treatment on my feet and then applying cuticle oil as well. While the callous treatment was working, she cut and filled my toe nails very well and very gentle! Then, she filed down my callouses. Let me tell you, I get pedicure every month but I can't believe how much came off, kinda gross to be honest lol! She also kept feeling my foot to make sure it was soft enough and if not, she kept going at it. Then, the leg sugar scrub which was nice, just the usual. I loved how the place was quiet and none of the manicurist were chattering with each other. The lady didn't try to talk to me much was nice because I like to relax. My feet are SO SOFT. Like, y'all need to understand. As far as pedicures go, I've gone to every damn nail salon in the tri county area and this is the absolute best pedicure I've ever gotten. Side note: her name is Kelly. I liked how she didn't use a timer while doing my massage because that is sooo annoying to me. The foot massage had the hot stoned too which was awesome! The manicure was really good. I had just bitten off my my beautiful long nails in anxiety while I was watching The Revenant :-( she actually made them look really nice and even suggested a more neutral color since my nails were so short! Vivian is the owner & absolutely FANTASTIC. I've had fake nails put on, had my real nails manicured & they do a fabulous job each & every time. I'm particularly picky & searched the OC far & wide to find a good nail salon. Though definitely not the cheapest nail salon in the area, they provide the best service and are the nicest folks around. Definitely will go back again soon! I went for the first time 2 days ago - I have to say, it was the best pedicure I've ever had. And I've gotten a lot of pedicures. I've never been so wowed that I felt like I should review any of those places. 1) super polite. I got there around 4:15 in the afternoon - they had some people, but cleared a spa chair for me. I waited about 10 minutes or so soaking my feet and they apologized for the wait. 2) they speak English fluently. And they don't sit around looking bored while talking smack about you in front of you thinking you don't understand them. 3) high quality products - they had OPI and Essie polishes. They also used Seche Vite top coat. 4) quality pedicure - I paid $35 for the special pedicure (standard spa pedicure is $20 and they have a fancy one for $50). The special pedicure came with a paraffin wax dip OR a mud mask for your legs/feet. It also included a scrub as well as a leg massage and callus remover. Let me tell you - most pedicure places do kind of a half assed job at the scrub - not here. Christy (she's awesome) really went to town on the scrub - she massaged and she seriously exfoliated my legs. I opted for the mud mask which was tingly and she did my feet to right below my knees. The massage was also really good like the other reviewers stated. And she even busted out some hot stones during the leg massage. Before she started the polish portion, she wiped down my legs and feet with hot towels as well. 5) attention to detail - I've never had anyone be so meticulous during a pedicure. Everything from the scrub, the mask, the callus remover, the massage to the polish - done very well. Christy was a perfectionist and took this pedicure seriously! She really took her time (and I didn't do anything complicated - just a simple pink polish) - it wasn't sloppy and she was so careful she never got any polish on my skin - she was THAT careful. My feet have seriously never looked better. 2 days later and I'm still happy when I look at my feet. Everyone in the shop was nice, all the clients looked happy, the place was clean, friendly and they had the Celtic Woman dvd on. They also had free wifi, which is awesome if you have a wifi tablet with you (like I did). I highly recommend this place if you're in the area and want to get your nails done. I'm planning on returning (even though it's a 20-25 minute drive from my place) for a gel manicure next time. read more

Bad quality gel, peels quickly! I've been here 3 times; twice for a gel manicure and once for gel removal. The first time I came here, I was happy because they took me right away and did a quick manicure. I should've known this place wasn't great because there was only 1 other person getting their nails done there. I chose the mood/color changing gel, which changed from a dark color to a light color depending on the temperature. It quickly started peeling so I went back to get a gel change. I figured it peeled so quickly because it was a novelty color, but the next gel manicure I had (one solid color) peeled just as quick! My manicure was destroyed within 2 weeks. I went back to get them removed and was charged $10. They left my nails in bad condition - dry, scratched up from the removal process and weak. I asked if they could do a shiny buff because they looked so bad, but that would be another $10! My old salon would do it free, as part of the service. I was shocked and left.
