Showed up an hour later and Lisa took care of me, gave me a beautiful French mani with tips and gel toes all in just an hour. She is very hardworking and the other ladies were so kind and welcoming. This salon is old and has fallen into disrepair. While they try to be nice, the language barrier is very difficult to navigate. They blame sub-par work on different "technique". The pedicure was good, but my nails look awful and did not last. The technician who assisted me was not good at her job and was unwilling to correct the issue. Nancy has been doing my nails for years and is THE BEST! Not only is she great at mani/pedi's but she also gives amazing foot and neck rubs!

I was not impressed with this place. Let me start by saying that my nails turned out pretty good and my gel hasn't moved since my manicure exactly one week ago. That being said, I was charged $30 for a gel manicure, which seems a bit premium, but service was lacking for the price. I saw down and was given a pamphlet of the gel colors. Most places give you a book or real swatches, but was willing to look past this. I selected a color and the lady came back with maybe 6 bottles and proceeded to open every one to ask me which one I wanted. What? I showed you which shade I wanted! She said they don't have those exact shades.... so she proceeded to show me more bottles by opening them until I picked one I liked. Okay... So my manicure begins and it's going ok so far. Then she puts lotion on my cuticles rather than softener. Ouch! I didn't think the softener was really necessary before, but now I know why they use it. My hands were soaking for a few minutes and using lotion instead really stung! Once we got to the painting, she did a good job and didn't have to clean up, but she did use OPI gel for the color and some off brand for the other steps in the process. This place is a little ghetto, definitely not a spa type place with a relaxing atmosphere. I got there at 3:45, The manager was so rude, she made me wait 35 minutes bc she was understaffed, then after about 45 minutes she showed me a calculator of how much it would be to remove my acrylics then replace acrylics and do gels on top as if I was asking for a discount or for free services. A calculator would have been fine at the beginning of my visit but not after waiting that long. I didn't have an appointment but really needed to get my nails done, she should have told me she was overbooked or at least my wait time. I have to call them out for this. I honestly feel she was treating me poorly. Then she was trying to be real cutesy attempting to redeem her self. I'm not from the area and was passing through. I'm ranting but I feel like I'm not the only one to have had this experience. She was patronizing, she sits me all the way to the back like they'll be doing my nails soon but makes me wait another 15 min. I was about and ready to get up and go but like I said I had to get my nails done, I had a nail emergency, traffic is bad and I'd rather sit and wait in a shitty nail salon than in my car, in traffic, she was really playing me though. I was wearing scrubs, I'm a working class hispanic woman and there were two other ladies who were white that are her regulars. I felt like the "manager" or whom ever she was, was trying to pick on me or trying to provoke me, maybe because I wore my work clothes at her salon??? Most of the cars in their parking structure are work trucks, it may be Sherman Oaks but it's the most mediocre mini-mall. Anyway... I'm not one for a show but I'm very direct, quiet and serious for the most part. At least my technician was polite, respectful and quiet, I liked her, I gave her a big tip, she was worth my patience and she was missing a finger on her hand, she seemed to get me, But the manager... fakest lady I've ever met, no grace or hospitality, at the end she said, it's 47$ but for you I'll give it to you for 45. Oldskool no frills nail salon - my cup of tea! Salon doesn't smell like chemicals and the lil ladies that run the salon are the nicest. Wide selection of polish, and while I was getting a mani-pedi there were a number of local regulars who had been coming for years and years. That says something! The place is remodeled from carpet to tiles and they painted the walls to make look brighter. The last time I was there the chair is very uncomfortable but now they have all new chairs and makes you feel relaxed while their doing your manicure and pedicure. The price is very reasonable and all the employees are very sweet. You have to make an appointment in order for you not to wait too long. I would suggest if you do walk-in go in week days unless you are willing to wait an hour or so. They also provide a good massage after your manicure or pedicure. All in all I'm a fan of this place. Second time they've screwed me and my family over. Decent nails but terrible customer service. They left my little girl sitting for an hour because Beyoncé's mom was in the salon. We only came For my girl to get her nails done and I didn't care about mine. Today, we arrived, picked our colors and waited 30 minutes. They took two other women before me and two children. As another reviewer said, the decor is lacking (they've hung plastic flowers on the wall), but who cares when their prices are super-reasonable and their mani/pedi is comparable to the more expensive places? Plus I've almost always gone as a walk-in and they've been able to take me right away. The ladies are also very sweet, and I don't mind that their English is limited because I don't usually feel like chatting anyway at the end of a long work day. Glad I was able to get in within 15 mins of calling. Manicure was fine, pedicure meh. But here's a TIP: when you hand a customer back their change you do NOT keep some of the money in your hand and start walking away with it as your tip.
