Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

Of course, the second reading was better. He was very professional and compassionate! I saw Dr. Victor Nekrasov, who did a thorough examination and discussed the symptoms I've been having. I felt that his questions were good, and I did not feel rushed at all during my time with him. He prescribed a few meds, and I was on my way. They confirmed which pharmacy I preferred, and I opted for CVS located across the street. I was encouraged to return to the clinic and/or follow up with my PCP if symptoms did not improve. The transformation with InBrace has been on a whole different level. From day one, Dr. Youssef showed me 3D imaging of what he could do with my smile, and he ended up delivering exactly that--actually better. He pays attention to every detail: alignment, bite, angles, and even how everything affects the balance of your face. I get compliments all the time now, which still surprises me! What makes him stand out is that he's both an InBrace Platinum Provider and a USC orthodontics professor, so he's incredibly current and knowledgeable. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does--he's meticulous and a total perfectionist in the best way possible. The office is super clean, modern, and high-tech, and the front desk team is always kind, responsive, and easy to reach (they even text, which I love). Scheduling has never been an issue. The InBrace process took longer than I initially expected, but after the first few months I barely noticed the braces--and honestly, I could've kept them on forever. They even helped me manage my eating habits, which was a huge plus, lol! And considering the results, I didn't mind the timeline at all. I could tell Dr. Youssef was investing extra time (without rushing or cutting corners) to make sure everything turned out perfectly. Occasionally the office wait times can be a bit longer, but it's simply because they never rush your care, and you can tell the doctor invests real time into getting everything perfect. Totally worth it. Another huge plus--they're connected to the dental office next door, which made coordinating my dental and ortho work super convenient. Ended up loving that office too! If you're thinking about braces or interested in InBrace, I can't recommend Dr. Youssef and the FitSmiles team enough. Best orthodontic experience I've ever had.
