I would not recommend this company. They are SO expensive. They came out and said it would be $210.00 do diagnose the problem. All I needed was help switching out a thermostat on the wall. They said they could do it for $457.00, plus $210.00 (total of $667.00!) for something he said would take 30 minutes. When I asked if they could just reinstall the old thermostat, he said it would be $350.00 (total of $560.00) just to reinstall something that would take no more than 15 minutes to put back on the wall. That may be the highest I've ever been charged for a simple service. read more

Purchased a home with a 20 yr old furnace and a 30 yr old AC compressor (even though the house is only 20 yrs old, I know rite??l). Enter Perfect Star's direct mail advertisement flyer. After going through the holidays with a loud blowing furnace that doesn't efficiently heat the house evenly, the mailer was the perfect catalyst to get the process going of upgrading my HVAC system. I submitted an online inquiry on January 13th. Paul came over for a consultation January 17th. The team got started on the job on January 20th. The team finished the job, cleaned up, and departed the next day. I now have a new heat pump, air purification system, two-zone heating and cooling, and the noise level has been reduced so dramatically I cant believe the system is even on. The indoor climate is so incredibly balanced I'm now rethinking my plans for radiant floor heating. I'm asking the team to return for some electrical upgrades, thanks Perfect Star!! read more

I had a really disappointing experience. The technician charged me a $115 "show-up fee" and then gave me an estimate of $258 for the repair. I looked up the part myself and found out it was only $15. When I asked him about it, he suddenly changed the price to $300 and still didn't provide any receipt, invoice, or warranty. The whole thing felt dishonest and unprofessional. I had a mixed experience with Perfect Star. I reached out because my AC breaker kept tripping. I was ready to replace the AC system, but based on their recommendation, I went ahead with a costly full electrical panel and subpanel upgrade. Unfortunately, that didn't resolve the issue, and I ended up needing to replace the AC anyway, something I had been prepared to do from the beginning. The new AC unit also arrived with a dented panel and visible coil damage, which was disappointing. To their credit, they did send technicians out multiple times to address it. They replaced the panel and attempted to repair the coil fins. While the system is now working fine, the result still didn't quite match the "brand-new" quality I expected. I could sense some frustration from the company toward the end, maybe I came across as a difficult customer. But from my side, I went with Perfect Star over other options because I wanted a professional experience and high standards. I was just holding them up to their "Perfect Star Guarantee". I wanted the job done right, without repeated visits or lingering damage. In the end, they did offer a small credit, which I appreciated. They worked to make it right, and I respect that, but the process took more time and follow-up than it should have. If you're considering using them, make sure you're completely confident in the diagnosis before proceeding, and inspect the installation closely when it's done. read more

His estimate ended up being lower than the others I received and was very willing to work with me on a few issues and help with pricing. I manage quality assurance for home improvement contractors for a living so there are things I look at by nature when having work done on my house. I was very impressed with the quality of work. The Crew was friendly, clean and super professional. Installation of the new system took less than a day. It could not have gone any smoother. After coming home from a 10 day camping trip and turning on our HVAC unit, our vents started to blow out insulation. About two months prior, Perfect Star replaced our neighbor's HVAC unit/ducts and we saw their vans parked outside so gave them a call (our neighbor also spoke highly of their work). Gio H. and Marcos H. came out to provided options (replacing ducting versus the whole system). Gio H. inspected our whole cramped crawlspace, found all the ducts on the ground with evidence of water damage, three disconnects and reviewed all the photos/videos with us (previous two companies did not put that much effort). Marcos H. came out and discussed replacing the whole system, was able to provide options and build us a custom package to meet our needs. We decided to swap our gas HVAC unit for an electric heat pump (anticipate transition to solar in the future). We also requested to move the unit from the crawlspace to the attic (explored previously by other HVAC companies and were told not possible). Marcos H. also provided reassurance to my wife of the cost to replace along with return on investment information (very knowledgeable and able to answer specifics/highly technical questions). Martin J. was the captain assigned to lead our project. On day 1 we did a walk through and discussed the work needed to be done, expectations and concerns. Martin J. was very receptive and went beyond the scope of the work to assure customer satisfaction (pulling gas line from crawl space and previous unit electrical/hardware from crawlspace). Martin J. creatively built a hanging platform in the attic to increase room and movement as it was challenging to find a large enough flat space and still have a catwalk (see uploaded photo). Martin J. and his team (Bryan A., Martin H. and Wyatt S.) showed up on time, very professional and cleaned up at the end of the day. With the professionalism and attention to detail of Marcos H. and Martin J., we decided to also upgrade our whole house fan and attic fan. All work was completed in 3 days... Perfect Star has been very responsive and we remain extremely pleased that we selected them in 2019 for new furnace and 2021 for added AC. We have a maintenance contract so they come out twice a year and service both units, including swapping out the filters (ours are not easy to reach, unfortunately) and testing the systems prior to the advent of summer heat/winter cold. The technicians arrive on time, are courteous and skilled. We especially commend Emanuel Villarreal, who did the Super Tune-up on our HVAC in spring 2024. It turned out that altho both systems worked fine, there was a connection that was not properly installed, so the HVAC was not working at its highest efficiency. He spent several hours fine-tuning both systems, and the house does seem even more comfortable than before. Many thanks to Emanuel and we highly recommend Perfect Star! I'm only sorry now we didn't spring for the heat pump system, in view of PG&E's actions. However, this is not our 'forever' home, so we didn't feel the additional expense was justified. read more

I contacted PERFECT STAR because they are a premium dealer for LENNOX products, which has a sterling reputation in the HVAC industry. Raymond, their lead technician , came out and did a two hour inspection of my old AC / FURNACE set-up. It was unanimous : it had to go ! He left me , without pressure, a clear point by point price-- proposal for the new LENNOX system. With due diligence I checked with other dealers who were more expensive and LESS candid in their pricing and credit offers. I contracted with PERFECT STAR, which also gave me a military discount. As expected the install -- AC, Coil, Furnace -- went flawlessly . Their team, led by Juan " arrived on time....left me happy." In only six and one-half hours they removed the old items, installed the new LENNOX and made a flawless clean-up. All four team members were friendly, had a professional attitude and respected my property. They are scam artists. June 30th the technician came to fix my 5 year old air conditioner and of course it was the capacitor. Well here's the scam part. I was charged $344.80 (and that's with discounts) for a $6.00 Blufin cap that they know won't last so you have to keep replacing it, or maybe replace something more expensive? And it's gone out again. Shady company. Google the price. You can't even buy them on Amazon. The guy was hard selling me their maintenance plan. Lied to me as to how it works, I asked him if I can cancel anytime, he said oh yes. No you have to pay the 14.95 a month for 6 months or they charge you 150.00. Never said that. The discounts they offer with the plan don't amount to much. I had to email and ask for the receipt for the work done, but they sure sent me the monthly contract right away He also said they will do the check ups every 6 months, lie. Use an honest company. Perfect Star replaced my HVAC system on August 11. They were scheduled to arrive between 8-9am for an all day installation. They arrived by 8:15am and had staff working inside on the furnace (in the hot attic) and outside on the AC unit (in the summer heat). These guys all worked hard all day and some even stayed until close to 9pm to finish the job. The new system is running great and is so quiet and efficient. All the technicians who maintain my HVAC twice a year have been professional, efficient, patient and provide education as well as answered all my questions. The service report I receive has pictures of each component serviced and what their meter is reading. I appreciated Dylon Jeske taking the time to explain what a heat pump is and how it differs from what I currently have (for future consideration). While I have an older system (13-14 yrs) that is still running well, he alleviated my concerns about when it may need to be replaced by explaining some of the red flags they might see in the future that would require more troubleshooting to determine the next best step. read more
