I went to Perfection Nails on Friday June 7, 2019 to get a mani and pedi for me and for my daughter. It was a special occasion being my son's wedding and I told the owner that. She made us wait. Then she said she could only do one person, so my daughter waited until another person was done and could start her. I asked for a French mani/pedi and she did them too thick and I told her so. She made them thinner and I said they were too thick, she complained, so I just let it go. Meanwhile, my daughter asked to get tips and the owner said "No, you cannot get tips today." While she was doing my nails, she answered the phone and told people she could not do their manis/pedis today. She was pretty rude. I asked her to do something special on my nails and she made a face, so I just let that go, too. I will NEVER go back here!!! read more

My mom and I have been coming here for about 10 years and we love it. It's a no frills salon where you can get a basic mani/pedi (no fancy massage chair) for $25. We always go to Mindy, who I highly recommend because she never cuts us and takes her time with everything. I love how I am always greeted by name no matter how long I go between visits (I don't live in SD so my last visits were at lease 8 months apart). The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the decor isn't as luxurious as other places. I do not mind this because they offer quality nail services at a good price, but other people might mind. I have yet to find a place in L.A. (where I've lived for 4 years) that I like as much as this one! read more

I've been going to this nail shop for over 5 years! (But I was always too lazy to write a review, oops) Currently, I am traveling between Hawaii and LA but every chance I get I make a pitstop in San Diego to get my nails done here. I usually get gel manicures and they are amazing! Super attentive to my needs, and the gel lasts forever. Everyone here is very friendly and professional. The prices are great compared to their competitors. The shop itself is super clean and has been remodeled/updated recently with new massage chairs that are amazing~ Highly recommended if you're in this area of town (even if you're not, it might be worth the drive). I am so disappointed in this place that i will never return for a pedi. I was in this center for my nail appointment and my usual place was not close by. I came in and paid $17 to have my feet washed and nail polished changed. No scrubbing of my feet or callus remover. My feet are still ruff and dried out. So now I have to spend another $20 to have feet done correctly. I am not sure where these great reviews come from this place is less than marginal for a pedicure. read more

She rushed through leaving nail polish on my toes. Took my gel mani off, kind of. After the burning of the acetone I took off my own foil. I asked for a buffing to let my nails breathe and she left so much residue on my nails it looks like I've been digging in the dirt. Which didn't show through until after about an hour. I watched them NOT sterilize their tools. Ever noticed that nothing is ever in the barbicide!? Sick. I try not to complain and give businesses chances cause everyone has bad days but I stopped going here months ago after they told me why they won't do two coats of clear gel when every other place does it. This was the worst manicure I've had in a long time. I also asked the tech if I could be done in 30 minutes before starting and it took it 50 minutes and she was very slow and the paint job was still really bad. I told her I was unhappy and she didn't say a thing. I had my 8 year old son with me and he asked to have his nails clipped and cleaned and the other tech rolled her eyes, and then charged us for a full manicure. Bad service and poor skills. I've been shopping around for a new nail salon for about a year. Stumbled upon this one, and I'm very happy with everything. The price is VERY reasonable, staff are very knowledgeable, experienced, and care about their work. They treat their customers warmly and are friendly. I don't get acrylics or special work done, just a basic manicure, and it's hard to find a reasonably priced place that does the basic manicure well. Also, the shopping center they're in, and the ones nearby it, have grocery, drug and other popular stores, so I can conveniently wrap up a lot of errands when I come here! I was not too impressed by their acrylics but the pedicure was nice. I will return for my toes and a manicure but would not suggest getting acrylics done here. I broke a nail and had it fixed and they did not shape it the same as my other nails. I had to ask for it to be fixed and even then I had to convince them to fix it. It also turned yellow quickly. I did get the gel so I thought it was strange. They are cheap. read more

She starting doing my Mom's nails shortly before we lost her to Pancreatic Cancer. When she died, My actually came to our home to pay her condolences. i love this place! not sure why anyone would not like it. EVERY time i have gone i get a high quality, nail care treatment. they scrub the bottom of my feet, clean out everything and do an excellent nail polish job. They are always courteous. They try to get me in even without an appointment. Of course calling ahead of time will always help. I have rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. Excellent place! My mom and I have been going here for years. I can't give it a 5 because there are a couple of things that have been more noticeable recently. First, the quality of work is not consistent. Sometimes my nails look fantastic and other times they are just okay. The second is that they never run the AC so if the heat bothers you (which it does me) I recommend that you go as early as possible. I have thought about changing shops but don't know of any that are any better and most are higher priced. read more

My sister and I went for pedicures. My technician did not trim my nails, even thought I asked her to (it's usually something that happens without asking, in my experience), I had to trim them when she stepped away. She did not clear the debris from the side of the big toes (also a typical thing in all other pedicures). Also, she did not pumice my heels, so I asked to have the next pedicure up in pricing ($30) that included callus treatment, sugar scrub, and massage. I think she had some aversion to scrubbing because she had a light hand about it and it was quick. She almost skipped the scrub, until I asked to check the price list and she completely skipped the massage. I left with sloppily painted nails, paper towel stuck to the side of my feel from the callus treatment, unpummiced heel on one foot, and sugar scrub still on my skin. I had to go home and scrub my heels and the paper towel from my feet, and rinse off my legs since they were still gritty from the sugar scrub. read more
