Perfecto Cafe, Bakery & Gelato is a must-visit in Lower Lonsdale. From picture-perfect pastries to creamy gelato and great coffee, everything here feels as good as it tastes. Just steps from the Shipyards and Lonsdale Quay, it's the perfect spot to treat yourself. The pastries and sweets we tried were truly delicious and Instagram worthy. We went on a weekday afternoon and half of their items were sold out. We liked how spacious and open the interior was. It's perfect for catching up with friends, work meetings, or getting some work done. Parking 3.5/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Some of us needed dinner and some of us already had food in our stomachs, so we decided to go somewhere casual where some of us could get something more substantial in their stomachs and some of us could just have some drinks along with dessert, just to stay with the group and still be together even though we didn't need dinner in our stomachs. Featured here: Pesto Chicken Sandwich Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwich Latte Hojicha Latte Strawberry Matcha Latte Espresso Gelato London Fog Gelato I'd heard about the other branch of Perfecto Cafe but never been to it. What I heard was that they made really good gelato, so I very much wanted to try the gelato here. It was pretty good but honestly, I don't think it lived up to the hype. I feel I've had better gelato or ice cream in other places. My Strawberry Matcha Latte was OK. I'd had a different Strawberry Matcha Latte recently from a bubble tea shop and I enjoyed that one more than this one. I found the Strawberry puree at the bottom of this drink to be a bit too sweet. The desserts look gorgeous though! I will have to come back and try their desserts. I heard the desserts come from their sister shop in North Burnaby, Fior di Latte. Havn't been to that place but it's been on my "to do" list for quite awhile now. It's a lovely setting. I like the high ceilings and all the natural light that comes into this place. Apparently this place has free underground parking somewhere in the back. We got dropped off at the shop while the other half of our group went to look for parking, and it was only when we walked into the shop that I saw a notice on the door that said there was complimentary 2 hour underground parking available. Will have to look for that next time we come here.

Beautiful interior, delicious coffee/pastries, and friendly service! Also free parking for 2 hours! This is a perfect gem for a dessert and coffee break near waterfront. *Food* The bakery items we got were: cinnamon swirl, pistachio tart, and hazelnut croissant. The bakery items were warmed after we ordered so they were crunchy and warm inside. *Pistachio tart had 4 different layers - tart, raspberry jam, pistachio cream, and cheese cake. The layers blended well together and werent too overwhelmingly sweet. It was my favorite! *cinnamon swirl had crunchy outer layer and warm/gooey cinnamon inner layer. It was super delicious! *hazelnut croissant had crunchy outside and hazelnut cream inside. This was on the sweeter side. Super yummy! *Drinks* We ordered hojicha lattee and americano. My parents like the coffee beans they used. Hojicha had more milk taste than the tea but was still refreshing to drink with the pastries. *Service* They were so welcoming and thanked us for coming in! *Interior* We were told that they opened in May 2025. Modern black and white interior with high ceiling. The decorations and tables were so beautiful! We will definitely come back!!

Featured here: Egg Bacon Sandwich Ham and Cheese Panini sandwich Classic Avocado Toast Earl Grey Tea Iced Mocha Rooibos Cherry Rose My daughter said she couldn't really taste the cheese much in her sandwich, but still enjoyed the sandwich all the same. Her Iced Mocha was very nicely done. I found my Avocado Toast a bit on the salty side, and wasn't impressed with the egg that sat upon it. Runny yolk is what I like to see, but the yolk in this egg was very dry. They have a nice selection of cakes in their display case. I might come back here again to have some tea and dessert but don't think I'll bother with their savoury foods again. Service: Good Parking: Free parking on the street

The mini cafe is too small to accommodate much seating, so it's a locally roasted alternative (to the larger chains like Starbucks) for those who don't mind a quick pit stop en route to or from The Shipyards district. It's located conveniently off of Lonsdale and has a vintage feel - far from flashy. They proudly serve Bean Around The World locally roasted world coffees.

Grandma was the one who saw the sign and thought it might be a nice place to try sometime.  Newsflash: The "Gooey Cinnamon Rolls" at West of Java come from Grounds for Coffee! Didn't know this when I stepped into the shop. It was while we were sitting down, enjoying our food and drink that I looked out the window and noticed the Grounds for Coffee logo printed on the "Gooey Cinnamon Rolls" sign that's hanging outside the shop. It's small and easy to miss, but it's unmistakably the Grounds for Coffee logo. I was over the moon when I realized that I no longer have to drive all the way to Commercial Drive or Alma St. to get those Cinnamon Rolls. Now I can get them anytime we go to visit Grandma!  Aside from my excitement about the Cinnamon Roll discovery, our drinks at West of Java were pretty nifty as well. We had Mocha, Chai Latte and a Matcha Latte.  I was also elated to discover that they allow people to bring in their own reusable cups and that you can get a discount for doing so!
