So let me first say I have not been purchaser of any products from Kings Honda. I did visit the dealership as a prospective customer a couple of years ago when in the market for a new car, and I found the salesperson I encountered to be exceptionally slimy, so I never returned. I do feel compelled to share that I have an extremely close friend, who I know to be an honest, intelligent, articulate person who shared with me in great detail his recent experience with these folks, including written communication he received from the dealership. I find it fascinating that his account of his dealings with them is almost exactly replicated by Michael C.'s review and others here who refer to some form of egregious "bait & switch" tactics. I dropped the car for the service of muffler. I had to change whole muffler system because the pipes were totally ripped or splitted. I paid more than $700 for the service. HOWEVER, the problem was not that. When I got the car back, the engine light was on which was not on when I dropped. So, I asked, but they were like " NO, it was already on". they kept saying it. I am not a stupid, if it was already on, I would have already asked them when I dropped it. And they said that it is problem with Oxygen sensor heater...and they asked for more than 400$ in order to change Since, I was busy, I didn't want to argue. So, I took it back and was driving without fixing it, few days ago, I went to different auto shop and asked for checking, and they said few option why the oxygen sensor might be on, one of the option they said is muffler. I mentioned that I changed whole pipes..and the auto shop technician told me that muffler might caused the issue and asked me to bring the car back to the dealer. Also, the technician told me that it would not cost $400.00..the oxygen sensor normally cost $50-100... So, I called the Kings honda and asked for the General Manager, who were out of the office, Mike, I left my voice message with my phone number. But I didnot get anything back. This dealership is misleading and dishonest. I drove an hour and a half to look for a car and wanted a 2018 honda accord lx white they had for sale for 20,573 and they showed me the car it was nice and wanted to purchase I filled out the credit app and was getting paper work and then they decided to tell me it was the wrong car so I walked out and it's a 2018 honda accord lx just like the other one only it was hit from the side and the front bumper was tore off it and they told me the one I looked at is going to cost me another 1400$ and I said but that wasn't the one we were shown and they didn't care to help me they had me sit there from 9 until 3 in the afternoon just to tell me it's going to cost me 1400$ more for the car also lieing to me about my trade on my car trying to cheat an additional 1,000$ I went home empty handed and wasted my entire day on this dealership they are the absolute worst honda dealership I have ever dealt with. Bought my car here. The most flawless car buying purchase ever, and I have family that owns a dealership elsewhere! It's a 45 min drive for me to come here. Given that I started going to another dealer for service. That other dealership pales in comparison to the customer service offered here. Oil changes in an hour or less, usually less. You're greeted by professional staff members as soon as you pull in to the garage. The waiting area offers beverages and if you're here early in the morning .... Fresh doughnuts. We received a quote via email after an internet inquiry and upon arrival to the dealership to complete the purchase, "they didn't remember providing a price" and "that price was not for that car!" Really? We have documentation to prove it! We walked, and bought another car the same day from a different dealer. **update** called the general manager twice as requested from my original post and left 1 voicemail. Never got back to me ... Before thanksgiving i took my car into Honda to be checked out for a noise. I was working work someone new and he was not a tech. He was just at the desk that checked you in. Anyway so E got in my car and listened and said yeah nothing major to me sounds like maybe something loose that needs tightened. I offered to leave my vehicle and have the shuttle take me over to work which is in mason and I'd come back in 5/6 hours and pick it up. I was told they were too busy and i could come back in about 2 weeks which was going to be the Monday after thanksgiving. I let E know that i was going to be traveling alone and my car never made this rattling noise so I'd really feel more comfortable if they would check it out sooner. He let me know I'd be paying $120 to diagnose it and if it comes back nothing I'd lose my money. Which i think is complete BS. Anyway so i left. I had to get back to work and was annoyed anyway by this point. I told my aunt the situation who couldn't believe after i called and asked before i went and offered to drop it off that i was turned away. She called and told the girl who answered what happened and said that i do not want to work with E so they said to ask for Laura and that is who would be calling me if we do the overnight drop off. So we dropped off the car overnight and first thing in the morning around 730am the same person calls!! It's E!!!!!!!! He goes on to ask what is wrong with my car (after i left details on the form) and it should have been in my profile from the day prior since i was seen and noted were taken supposedly. He obviously didn't pop in my phone number. I was pissed. Not the way to start my work day off. So a few hours later i get a call and E tells me i need a new belt that works with the tensioner and a new tensioner. Go figure ..... i knew something was wrong (dumb female i guess?)... so i said okay how much? $471 and some change. I said okay we'll go ahead and fix it I'd rather be safe than wait. (I would have been out $120 anyway so at that point just fix it). So i then receive another call saying the parts are on back order i can come rent a car for $15 a day. It would be a 1 day rental no worries so i agreed. I then get the rental car and the next day receive another phone call. I then need another part which was another $60 but they were not going to charge me labor. Okay yes! Do that! Makes sense. So $471 + $60 .... $531.... so here is the fun part. The part won't be in until Monday morning so i have the rental car from a Thursday - Monday now. I asked if we can do anything about that since it's not my fault you guys don't have the parts in stock? He said you know I'll take care of the additional days and those will be "comped".... COMPED..... so i go Monday to pick up my car and all of a sudden i was told I'm paying $690..... how? How did that happen when i was quoted $471 then a $65 part and okay add $15 for the one day rental .... $546.... i said okay can you explain? Also i have the service coupon from your website. (Again this is working with E and he seemed fine until i go to pick up the car!) the tone changed and he was getting a little annoyed. He said well this is parts and this is labor and this is $45 for the car. He then made the coupon adjustment. So he takes $45 off the car (which was from the service coupon) took a little off labor (which i wasn't supposed to pay extra anyway) and then i only really had $55 off with the coupon that should have been $75. I ended paying around $550 and nothing was "COMPED". Comped is NOT using my coupon for the rental car and the $75 should have been taken off of $546.... meaning i should have paid $471 and not close to $550!!!!! Of course i go to take the survey and give my feedback and it says my survey has been taken already .... WHAT?!?!? I JUST tried to open it .... then i call and leave a message for Ash Mall... nope. Never a call back NOTHING!!!!!! Finally i text the number offered and they replied and said they noted my concerns. I haven't heard a thing back since last week ..... I've never experienced this kind of crap from Honda and we have about 10 Honda's in the family but o really really don't want to go back. I feel uneasy, and played. Other dealerships i think yes this is expected but Honda? This is literally the worst car dealership I have ever been to. I went in to look at my options for a variety of cars. My limit was 26,000. Which is a very reasonable price!!!! They tried to scam me into running my credit about 7 different times and everyone I said no. Why would you need to run my credit if I didn't even want to buy the car? They priced a 2017 Mazda at 25,000$ (that is the price of a 2022 SE Mazda cx-30 by the way). I said it was too much and the guy kelp on trying to stretch out the loan to make it seem cheaper to me. Came into Honda to have a light bulb replaced. Pulled through the service door and was told we would have to walk down to parts and purchase the lightbulb then bring it back to have it installed. Parts was on the other side of the building and could only get there by walking outside. It was sleeting. Poor design at this place. The two older gentlemen in the parts division were slow, less than friendly and rude. I went to Kings Honda to look at a specific vehicle found on their website! Upon arrival, I was asked what they could do for me and we showed them the print out of the vehicle we wanted to see. He took us to a table and asked if we had been working with anyone on the phone and we said no! He asked 2 more times saying they have to be sure! Then he asked who's name the vehicle would be put in if we bought it and needed that drivers license to scan in! I gave him my license and he was gone for a bit and so I went to where he was and said I needed my license back and if he couldn't show me the vehicle, I was leaving! His response was "well you want to drive it right"! My response was, I want to see it first"! He said well we have to know who's driving our vehicles because we have had people steal cars! TL;DR: We were given a test drive which left us stranded after it was unable to restart due to a drained battery. Expressing concern about the quality of the maintenance the car received led to a very defensive sales associate getting into our test car and speeding off mid-conversation. After speaking to a manager and receiving an insincere apology, the sales associate walked off mid-conversation again. Needless to say, the deal fell through. The worst retail experience my wife and I ever encountered. We were in the market for a brand new Honda Fit and wanted to test the Sport and EX trim levels. Upon arriving at the showroom, we were greeted by Melissa Bailey who pulled up the only remaining EX trim Fit for us to test. She mentioned to us that a dome light had been left on and that there was an issue with the infotainment system screen, but if we drove around a bit it should load and stop "spinning." At this point, we assumed that there was a computer problem but that it would resolve itself through normal use. When we hopped into the car, all sorts of dashboard indicator lights and sounds were happening as we moved slowly through the parking lot. It quickly became apparent to us that this particular car was not ready to be test driven. I parked at a nearby restaurant and turned off the ignition to see if that would resolve all the issues we were seeing, only for the car to not be able to restart. After walking back to the dealership, Melissa explained to us that the battery needed to be recharged and that we never should have turned off the ignition. Had this been explained to us from the beginning we would have understood, but the issue was described to us as though it was an infotainment system problem rather than a dead battery issue. We tried to explain this, and were met with condescension. We were asked if we'd never had a battery die on us, and when we said we hadn't her response was that we were "very young." She also explained to us that it was "like when you reboot your smartphone and it takes a minute to load everything." It felt a bit like we were ten years old and were being scolded. We're 30 years old and know how batteries work; this just wasn't initially presented to us as though it was a battery problem. Despite the above issues, we proceeded to test drive the Sport trim and spent a few minutes discussing our options. Chief among our concerns was that my wife was set on the EX trim, but the only remaining model had just stranded us at a restaurant. We realized that the dome light mentioned earlier must have drained the battery the entire time it was sitting on the lot. We drove back and explained our concerns to Melissa. If we are planning on spending 19K on a car, we wanted to ensure that it was maintained properly. A simple matter like a dome light being left on could easily be addressed by a quick check after every test drive. This calls into question the level of attention and maintenance that cars would be receiving before being sold. Her response was not sympathetic to our concerns or the experience we had. She asked again if we'd ever had a battery die on us, if we were familiar with smartphone batteries, and if we understood that sometimes kids leave lights on in cars during test drives. She then said "Stuff like this happens all the time. You've never had a problem at work before?" We felt at this point that the interaction had soured and began to tell her as such to which she responded by telling us that we were "so mean," storming off toward the car yelling "I guess I'm a terrible person!" and speeding through the parking lot in the EX model. We were left absolutely baffled at the very sharp turn the interaction had just taken. At no point in that conversation had we raised our voices, insulted her, or done anything except express our concerns about the quality of the car and our recourse should we decide to purchase it. After this experience, we went back to the showroom to talk to the sales manager Glen Standafer. He was understanding of our situation and told us that he would speak to Melissa. She returned to apologize, but it felt hollow and insincere. She excused the condescension as her "being a grandma and not being good at computers." She did not address driving off mid-conversation and we were disappointed that her reaction was to justify her behavior. While we were discussing our dissatisfaction, Melissa walked off again mid-conversation. Glen asked us if we would like to work with another sales associate. My wife responded "We'll take a day to recharge." It is ironic that the ending statement unintentionally ties so closely to the problem at hand. It's unfortunate that a day that should have ended with excitement concluded so horribly. read more

I had a really bad experience with service at this location. I took my car in to have my recalled airbags replaced. Upon returning to my vehicle , they had left tools on my floor board, damaged my dash, and didn't replace the screws in my trunk after replacing a back tail light. I guess they were just hoping i wouldn't notice? After I mentioned it to the lady at the service counter , she took photos and said that she would have someone call me about the damage. Still No one has ever called me to make this right. Needless to say ill be taking my business elsewhere when it comes to servicing my car. *My suggestion is to visit 2-3 dealers and get quotes on the model/trim you want. Then go here. Five stars from me all day long... Trade-in's, warranties (certified), blah blah blah...These guys are just doing their job. They don't build these beautiful buildings just giving things away. They sell and they do it well. Seriously, nobody goes to a car dealer to make an investment in something that will increase in value. If you want that, go pick up a $8M Lamborghini Miura. That said, I enjoyed almost my entire visit to this dealership... But let me give you my details: I gave my old car to my son so there was nothing to trade in. I studied every dealer and used Honda sedan in a 75 mile radius. I thought I wanted certified preowned, but soon figured out that that warranty was not for me. So I finally settled on a new car instead. The showroom is huge so they have almost every trim of every vehicle indoors. Dustin (sales manager) quickly talked to me and set me up with Marc (salesman). The price was great but I wasn't ready to buy. I went to one more dealer and got a quote in a better trim (I shoulda figured that out sooner - my mistake). We went back to Marc a few days later and got a great quote below the advertised price or the best price in Dayton. Dustin even remembered my name 4 days later. Maybe he's a genius. Idk. Signed the papers and met with John (finance guy). Yes, that's the most stressful part of the visit. No fault of his. He encouraged me to spend every nickel I could on service plans etc. but wasn't a jerk by any means. Got a interest rate equal to the one I found online from a national finance company. No sweat. Got the color/trim I wanted at a price better than if I had bought close to home. See first paragraph. I'll be back when my wife needs a car. read more

I balked and took it to a BBB shop, there was nothing wrong with the brakes and they charged me nothing. My wifes Odyssey transmission failed for the SECOND TIME and they quoted $4800 dollars to fix. The service department decided to use my car to train an installer. The trainee screwed up the installation on the airbag replacement (replaced due to recall) rendering my car un-driveable. When I receive my car back after 1 week of driving their loaner, the airbag failure light comes on. They insist it's not the airbag, but a bad seatbelt buckle, a part they have to order. Weeks later, I get a call that the part is in. I make an appointment for the replacement that they claim takes at least 2 hours to do. I take the afternoon off from work because they are not conveniently located to me. I show up at the appointment time and they tell me they don't have the part and that they weren't even expecting me. So I have to burn vacation time because of their incompetence and I still have a bad seat buckle (or worse, an issue with the airbag/computer) Update: I wrote this review while sitting in the waiting room of the service dept. The manager, Ash Mall, made it a point to tell the service associate that he read it and that, as he would have to order the part anyway, I should take my car to be serviced at another dealership- essentially, to take my business elsewhere. I have been coming to this dealership for about 4 years. They lost my business right about the time I am looking to trade in my CRV for a new HRV. Their loss!!! I took my car in to Superior Honda, made an appt in the morning and took it there on my lunch hour. They happened to have the seat buckle. It was installed in an hour. I own a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid and normally only get serviced at Honda Dealerships. Bad experience with Service Dept: During 60000 mile maintenance they forgot to do a CVT transmission fluid flush. Transmission started juggering loudly. Checked the transmission fluid and there was only 1 quart instead of 3. I took the car in to Jeff Wyler in Colerain and they did a full transmission that fixed the issue. From now on only going to Jeff Wyler; never going to Kings again even though I work right by it. read more

"What would it take for you to buy a car today" We've all heard this tired, old phrase before. Here's a clue, try not to bend a past customer over on a trade-in bought from your dealership. I'm really not sure why we even stepped foot back on your lot after the problems we had trying to buy the first car. I guess after 5 years we thought things might be different. Good honest deals sell cars, not cheap tactics. Shop around, especially if you have a trade. You'll find a better deal elsewhere. I will never ever take my car to Performance King's Honda again! I bought a new 2015 Honda Civic Hybrid last summer. On Thanksgiving, several warning lights came on, and the hybrid feature quit working. The next day, I took my car to King's Honda for service. They had the car for a month and a half before they finally fixed the problem. When we went to pick up the car, it had greasy fingerprints all over the back seat and the ceiling. We had to make two more trips to the dealership before they finally got rid of all the fingerprints. It shouldn't take us complaining two nights in a row to get them to clean up the fingerprints. When I drove my car home that night, the lights on my gearshift and heating and air did not come on. We called the service manager the next day and explained the problem. He said they weren't working on that part of the car, but that we would have to bring the car in again and leave it there. I took the car in again, and after having it for 3 days, they called me and told me my gearshift and heating and air dials didn't have lights. When we went in that night, we had to argue with them for over an hour about whether my car should have these lights! They finally checked the fuses and realized that whoever worked on my car took out a fuse and didn't replace it. Not one person even offered an apology! The females who work in service were very nice, but the men were not helpful at all! read more

After more than three weeks, still no paperwork from them to transfer the vehicle into my name, or into KY from OH. After calling, they are supposedly overnighting the Title to me. If I receive it by the end of the week, I will have exactly one business day remaining on my temporary tag to get the vehicle transferred. We have always loved Honda's and it was time to get a replacement car for a car with an expiring lease. No issues or concerns about any Honda, the issue is with the dealership. Almost 5 hours to get the deal done. This was caused by staff being pulled in a million different directions, like a kid with ADHD, there was no focus. Asked a simple question and it took 30 minutes for an answer that I found in 30 seconds in their own website. Salesman was nice, sales manager was terrible. Bottom line is respect my time. You know all my information, why did it take so long? Don't you value my patronage? Terrible experience and will never go back nor recommend. I've been having Kings Performance Honda service my car for awhile now, and I'll never go anywhere else. From the moment you pull into their service bay, the friendly (and smart) staff does everything to make you comfortable. They confirm why you're there. They let you know if there are any recalls on a component in your car. They answer all your questions without ever getting frustrated. They always do a check of your car to see if everything is functioning well, giving you a heads up if anything needs to be dealt with soon. My battery was flagged for replacement, and I'm so glad I didn't have to find out during a snowstorm! If you're waiting, there are several areas available, including a quiet room (no kids, no TV) which is perfect for those of us who do a lot of work on phones and laptops. Some people don't realize until they get there that the cost of an oil change is much cheaper at this dealership than going to a "cheap" place! Obviously I'm a customer for life. read more

Kings Honda service customer service is AWFUL! I swear these people are trained to be rude, non empathetic and pompous jerks. The manager, Ash, doesn't return calls or meet with you after he tells you to call and he will meet you next time at dealer. We have a 2011 Honda Odyssey and at this point, after years and years of owning a Honda, their terrible service has completely turned me away from ever wanting another Honda. I purchased a Honda due to it reputation and safety for my family but I can say without a doubt, the service team at Kings Performance Honda does NOT stand behind Honda mission and safety statement! read more

I own a Honda Accord 2009 and I would like to say first that "I haven't had any problem with the service they have provided to my Honda Accord yet", considering I did service only twice. That is why I am giving a 2 STAR. My vechicle's extended warranty was expiring in April. I checked with many warranty providers and finally got a good deal from King's Honda. I didnt think twice with the deal I have received. I purchased the extended warranty on Jan 17. I was told it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get the extended warranty card in my hand. Then comes the worst experiences. I called Kings Honda after 4 weeks. THey told me to wait for 2 more weeks. I waited 4 more weeks again. Not to mention how hard it was for me to get a hold of someone to express my concern. I called almost 12 times. Atlast somebody called back and said it will be taken care of and I should get the warranty card soon. Again, calling every other week, I finally got the Warranty Card on April 12. Finally up on arrival, the warranty Start date is Jan 17 2012. I have lost 3 months of my Warranty period. I have specifically stated I want the warranty start date to be this month because I was not able to use the Road Side assistance which comes along with the Warranty Card, when I needed one. The car we got there is awesome. The service department was good. The sales department was shady. We had to ask several times to see the final price sheet after negotiations, they were hesitant to explain how they got to the bottom line we agreed upon. We made an appointment with the sales department to have a dura-steel coating put on the car. They said if we called a day before the appointment we'd be able to get a loaner. We called the day before and the sales department said we wouldn't need a loaner because the procedure is only 45 mins. When we arrived for the procedure the service department had no record of our appointment. Also the service department said this procedure takes 2 hours minimum. It appeared that the service department was upset with sales department for giving the bad 45 min estimate regularly. read more

I bought a used Honda (08 Civic) off the lot for my son on 1/23/16. The used car guy was easy to work with and we negotiated a fair price rather quickly. It wasn't an expensive car (under $10k), but everything went very smoothly and my wife and I were out the door very quickly compared to other car purchases I have made. The reason for my high rating is what came after the purchase. Kings Honda includes a 3 month/3,000 "Peace of Mind" warranty with their used cars. We noticed a mechanical issue with the car after getting it home. I called and setup an appointment after researching what I thought the issue was with the car. I went in expecting to have to fight them to cover the fix. It turns out that my mindset was unnecessary. I explained what was going on and what I thought it was and wasn't. They said they would figure it out. It turned out the car needed a repair on each side of car (wheel bearings). That could have cost $700+ but it was all covered under their used car warranty AND they gave me loaner car. They had the car fixed 4 hours later and I returned with the loaner and picked it up. Car is fixed with zero drama. This is the first time I did business with them, but I was impressed enough to want to write a review. Based on this very positive experience, I am recommending them to the masses. read more

I attempted to purchase a new Honda from Performance Kings Honda. I was doing research and comparison shopping...who doesn't these days with internet and email. Anyway, I was given a reasonably strong quote but I wasn't prepared to buy that day. After about a week of research, I was ready to go. That's when issues arose. The car they had was not exactly what I wanted (it lacked leather). I was hoping to get it equipped that way and another dealer had it. However, after negotiating with them, it became clear that we were far apart on price. In the meantime, the Kings Honda salesman came back and gave me the old "I can give you this price but it's only good today". REALLY!!! I couldn't believe that a salesman would say that in this day and age. I called his bluff telling him that I could not make it in that day (which was true) and if the price was good today why would it not be good in a couple of days. He started to backpedal but by that time the damage was done. I'd rather pay a little extra at a dealership who respects me enough not to play these games. Performance Kings Honda lost a customer that day and I'll probably never go back again. What a shame! read more
