Awesome owners, awesome vibe, awesome FRESH coffee. They have something for everyone, even if you're not a coffee drinker. Their Cocoa Fuego hot chocolate is to die for. Matcha latte (with oat milk!!!) Is great, they don't buy the overly sweetened garbage--it's real matcha. And their prices...SO reasonable for the quality you're getting. I've visited the shop since and they've made major improvements. The tables do not wobble anymore, the music has been turned down a bit and they are encouraging the use of in-house mugs by discounting the coffee. I'm one of those people who needs to get out of the house to do work and spends hours at coffee shops, so ambiance and atmosphere are one of the traits I look for aside from great coffee. At Perkatory, I got both! I had the dark roast that was already brewed, but I regret not getting a pour-over since I was sitting down for a few hours to do work. One of my fav coffee spots in Middletown. It's sort of hidden but pretty easy to find and there's a ton of street parking. The location is industrial and the vibe inside the shop is awesome. Really low key, open and clean space but not too rigid. Inviting and the staff is super friendly and helpful, you can tell they know what they're doing and have a real passion for it. The other day we were craving some coffee from anything but our own brewed pot and perkatory was about 30 min shy of closing for the day, they were clearly picking up to close shop but they welcomed us with smiles and zero complaints. The North End of Main St finally has the coffee shop its been missing! I stopped by the other day (right off main street with plenty of parking) for a latte and was not disappointed. I really had high hopes for this new small business in Middletown. This place has a kind of industrial vibe in a cool space. They've since upgraded their street signage so it's easier to find than it was when it first opened. I first tried it with a friend on a Saturday morning not long after their grand opening. We love to support local businesses and we were really hoping to love this one. We were there at a time that was not busy at all. There was one couple in front of us and one couple behind us, and two baristas working. My friend and I ordered 2 lattes. One with skim milk and no sugar, one with whole milk and sugar. They got the order wrong. They sugared the one with skim milk. Let me repeat that. At a not busy time, they got a simple order of 2 lattes wrong. I am completely not impressed. When we brought it to the barista's attention, he didn't even apologize before or after fixing. He was kind of like "Oh." We were both also put off by the "Death before Decaf" HUGE banner on the wall, since we both really enjoy going out for great coffees but sometimes order decaf if it's in the afternoon but we still want a coffee hangout. It was really off-putting. I'd feel totally judged ordering a decaf while facing that huge banner. Can't decaf coffee be amazing too? I get trying to go for an edgy cool vibe, but not when you might put off some of your customers. I might go back again and give them another try but I'm not sure when there's plenty of other great coffee spots in town as well. read more

Great coffee if you don't mind getting your car towed. Beware they only have 2 designated parking spots the rest of the parking in the area is marked as reserved or private. Park at your own risk as D&L Towing has surveillance at the lot. They are a tow first ask questions later kind of operation. So while the 2$ for coffee is cool the 150$ towing fee for parking in the wrong spot...not so much. read more

If this is what Perkatory is like, I'm good to go. Every bean they roast in house is to a perfect medium roast, with some having more of an earthy boldness than others. My personal favorite being Honduras. There's plenty of freshly roasted single origin beans and blends to try. Get there now for a bomb cup of coffee and a cool skate shop feel. read more
