On a road trip to Missouri, my son sought out a Perkins since we don't have them down south. We loved this chain when we lived in Minnesota, so we deviated from our route slightly to get our fix. This location is close to downtown Memphis with plenty of parking. All the Perkins close to our route had lower ratings but we decided to risk it. Bad decision! We entered through a boarded up front door to a very full restaurant. We were seated in a corner where we weren't helped for quite awhile. Our waitress finally acknowledged us so we put our orders in right away. She seemed to be going through the motions and the service definitely was lacking. My go to at Perkins is the Chicken Tender Melt. They take tasty chicken strips and put them between grilled sourdough bread, and then layer it with pepper Jack cheese, bacon and tomatoes. In my opinion it's the perfect sandwich. This has always been one of my faves and it was good here too. They just didn't give us ranch that was supposed to accompany the dish. We didn't want to wait so we just ate our dryish sandwiches. Fries were room temp. My nephew and I still enjoyed the food. My son really liked his skillet as well. Because of the poor service and lack of of time, we decided to skip dessert which is good usually at other locations. We got our nostalgic meal, but overall this was a poor experience. I would drive way out of the way for the higher rated Perkins in Memphis next time. read more

I bring my family in for breakfast every Sunday after church. Our favorite server is Kim. She makes my nieces and nephews feel so loved. She always has a smile on her face and gets our order right. Went to Perkins for dinner at 5:40 PM on Monday. No one seated in restaurant and no staff visible. I waited a couple minutes and walked to the door of kitchen. Staff was visible, I called out to them and got no response. Phone rang at counter so I went back to counter thinking staff would show up to answer it. No one did so I left to go somewhere else. This place has plenty of private parking. The location was understaffed and service was extremely slow. One of the beverages had a fly frozen in the ice. Manager took the beverage off our bill. Ordered pie online over 2 or 3 weeks in advance. Arrived to pick up the pie. The hostess said she didn't see it on the list. Then I provided the order receipt. Mysteriously, the order was found. Last night me and a friend of mine went to the Perkins location for dinner. When we got there it took a while for the waitress to sit us. It wasn't a busy night for them either. I do have to admit when the waitress sit us she was quick with taking our order and making sure we got everything we wanted. I ordered the Chicken, Bacon, and Broccoli Pasta for dinner. This is my second visit to Memphis but first visit to this restaurant. I will definitely NOT be back!! The food is subpar and not cooked correctly. I asked for my eggs scrambled well done and they were runny. The service is definitely a miss. Our waitress was pleasant but never came back to check how we were doing or offer us anything. It is a Saturday and they have a "back to school" ambiance n the atmosphere. Definitely nice and good for the kids but it is through the entire restaurant. I really do enjoy their food here. But this experience was different. I came here after a comcert with the gf it was disappointed in the food & service. I got the steak skillet & I asked for my state to be done medium well. Instead it came out well done. My gf's salmon wasn't any better. It was flaky and dry. The server offered a new Salmon but she decided that maybe if the fish have a little bit more glaze it might have helped. The manager didn't do much but gave us a discout that wasn't worth much. I thought that she should have discounted in at 20%. Next time I will go to another location or go to another restaurant. Because I will never be coming back to this location. I'll probably try out their location on Park. I never slam on a whole chain over one location because I've good food and service at the Collierville location. read more

My family and I visit this establishment on May 18th, 2024. The service was excellent and the Management team was outstanding. The food came out hot and the server never let us ask for refills on our drinks. The music was just right for we can talk amongst one another. Kudos to the chef/cook that made our experience one of a kind. We most definitely will be back to visit this well run food establishment. read more

I ordered a PotRoast Melt with no onions and received a small overcooked to absolutely dry burger with onions. (See photos.) Yes, a hamburger patty cooked to death instead of the potroast I paid for. REALLY?!? They called to tell me they didn't have the pie I wanted so they could've said they didn't have pot roast and let me cancel that instead of sending me a nasty over cooked onion burger. The fries and my partner's hash browns were severely undercooked. (See photos.) After this experience, I'll NEVER order out from them again. I might go into the restaurant again but not at this time of night since this shift obviously doesn't care about the quality of food. We had it delivered so it isn't their fault the food was stone cold but the rest was all Perkins. No refund from Perkins either. read more

This Memphis location was terrible on Christmas. The hostess got into a physical fight with our waitress. We got inside this restaurant at 10:30am we left after 2:00pm.. the service was horrible the food was mediocre as school lunch. I do recommend the pancakes. Maybe pancakes to go next time. Whoever made these potato pancakes on Sunday December 24th round 9 deserves a raise. My husband and I came here for lunch yesterday. I KNEW it probably wasn't a good idea, but thought that surely it wouldn't be as bad as the last time I'd been to a different Perkins that has since closed. Well, it took our server 10 minutes to acknowledge our existence. We weren't the only table that experienced this - another table got the same treatment, so I think it's just how this server rolls. When she finally came up, there was no greeting, just a very awkward question asking if we wanted anything to drink. To which I wanted to say "yes, we do want a drink since that is a customary part of a meal.", but I didn't, I just gave my drink order. I ordered a side salad with my lunch. I'm eating low carb so no fries, rice, etc. for me. The salad comes out and the lettuce is turning red AND it's slimy. Ugh.... not gonna eat slimy lettuce and can't send it back just to get more nasty lettuce. Perkins should be ashamed for serving food like that. The waitress didn't write down our orders so they got one wrong. Of course the replacement was out in a heartbeat. Food was okay but not worth the price tag. There was even a used condom laying in a puddle in the front entrance. The restaurant floor was filled with litter as well. The server was rude and unprofessional. Perkins is best done in the morning or late at night, particularly given it's open 24/7. It's convenient, no doubt, but it's also inconsistent. You might say it's Perkins, so you know what you're getting. I was generally pleased with this visit though. Our waiter, Keon, was excellent, and despite the food being a bit cold, it tasted just fine. They still need to do something about the cleanliness of this place. It's an ongoing problem. read more

Stopped into Perkins Pancake House for breakfast on a Sunday. I ordered the pancake special. Three pancakes, a sausage and scrambled eggs. Though my eggs were pretty bad and I did not get my cheese I was supposed the get with them the pancakes were surprisingly spectacular.
