The Greek omelet was light, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The Pesto-Port Egg Sandwich was simple but absolutely delicious with a perfectly cooked egg and great pesto. The Balsamic Garden Avocado Toast was as beautiful as it was tasty, with fresh ingredients, creamy goat cheese, pickled onions, and a rich balsamic glaze. The Spicy Mango Sriracha grilled naan was incredibly unique--the sweet and spicy combination worked perfectly. The fresh-baked pretzels are a must-try! We took home several varieties, and they were warm, soft, and some of the best we've had. Even the latte and biscotti were excellent. On top of the amazing food, watching the staff handcraft and bake the giant pretzels right behind the counter added to the experience. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and the service was fast despite the café being busy. If you're in State College, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Fresh ingredients, creative menu, outstanding baked goods, and genuinely kind people. We'll definitely be back!

If I had noticed the condiment station sooner, I probably would have added some mustard or hot sauce. The space was a little tight inside, but they did have an outdoor seating area. Very quaint with a bit of a farmhouse decor. The coffee was good. The staff were actually quite exceptional, but it's still just a small cafe in a weird little section of State College.

W O N D E R F U L Staff Historic Building…read more We stropped in for our first visit to The Corner Room downtown State College PA for a fun happy hour. Our local PSU friends told us to make sure we visit the historical venue and we were very happy we did. Dane, our bar tender, was welcoming, friendly, and professional making handcrafted cocktails for us. He was very informative about the building and downtown State College. We really enjoyed his history of the Prohibition era in downtown State College with the connecting tunnels to each restaurant/bar. Next visit to State College we will definitely dine at The Corner Room based on Dane's welcoming and fun atmosphere. While we enjoyed happy hour we noted numerous families (prob PSU student families) all enjoying dinner. Cheers.

The atmosphere hits you right away. Dark wood, old school charm, the kind of place that feels like it has stories in the walls. It is cozy, a little dim, and exactly what you would expect from a spot celebrating a century in business. The menu is not huge, but it does not need to be. It leans heavily into comfort food, with plenty of sandwich options, but enough variety that most people will find something they like. Prices are fair, nothing over the top. I started with the soup of the day, a sausage gumbo with rice. It was flavorful and satisfying without being overly spicy or heavy. A nice warm up, especially on a rainy day. For my main, I went with Bobby D's famous beef chili topped with cheddar cheese and green onions, served with cornbread. It came out in a cast iron skillet, which was a nice touch presentation wise. Portion was solid, not massive, but definitely filling. The chili leaned a little sweet, which I personally enjoyed, with just a mild kick of heat and a lot of flavor. The cornbread was excellent and tied everything together. This is not a fancy place, and it is not trying to be. It is a comfort food spot that knows its identity and sticks to it. Great for a casual meal, especially if you are in the mood for something warm and satisfying. I would absolutely come back again. Next time, I might even give those sandwiches a shot since that seems to be their bread and butter.

The restaurant itself was pleasant enough and clean, the staff was friendly, but I would not recommend it at breakfast. At the behest of the server, we decided to get the breakfast buffet rather than choose from the menu. I believe that this may have been a mistake. For what you got, it was very much overpriced. The buffet consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, pancakes, fruit, cereal and a variety of breads with high-quality jams. Although the sausage and bacon were very good, the eggs were over cooked and the home fries, rather than being crispy, were soggy. All of this was $20 per person. I suspect that the problem with the eggs and home fries was related to the fact that they were sitting in warmers for too long. Nevertheless, for the variety available, even if the quality were good, it would have been overpriced. If you are in State College and staying in the Penn Stater, skip the Gardens for breakfast. Pick one of the many other options in town, your pocketbook will appreciate it as will your tastebuds.

We shared three dishes - beef stew, drunken noodles with tofu and beef ribs. They were all really good. The ribs were meaty, slightly sweet and fell off the bone. Served with a sunny side up egg, spinach and rice. There was an egg with the stew as well and it made the dish feel silky. The beef seemed slow cooked and the basmati rice went well. The tiramisu was solid, light and airy and very pretty plating. Service was a little apathetic, but the food was good enough to offset. Reasonable prices too. Would definitely go back if we lived here.

It is truly incredible and has ruined other ramen for me because of how good it is. I compare every ramen I get to it and they never measure up. If you do not really have a tolerance for spice, you can ask for it less spicy. We also got the chicken and duck rolls, both are very good. I do not know if there is a menu item in this restaurant that's bad. The seafood explosion is delicious and so is the popcorn chicken. We've had the cheesecake, the truffle bomb, and the lava cake, once again, all amazing.
