We were seated, but no one checked on us. A table of six arrived after us, was seated, and had their drink order taken, while we were still not acknowledged. We had breakfast at Perkins Sunday morning. 2 of us ordered the build your breakfast and the other ordered the grandma or granny omelet. Service was fast. Food was good- comparable to a Denny's type chain. Perkins is good for breakfast. *Also their pies are phenomenal. Perkins has just re-opened in State College and now are located on Benner Pike across from the Nittany Mall. The new location seems to have ample parking spaces. I arrived at 8 am on Friday and was greeted by the maitre'd opening the door for me and wishing me a good morning. I was seated very quickly and the waitress promptly showed up. I had the Spinach & Baby Bella scramble which came with egg beaters scrambled with tomatoes, spinach, onions and mushroom which I enjoyed. I normally don't go to Perkins, it's been about 5 years since the last visit. In fact I know exactly which Perkins it was that made me stop coming, Gillette WY. Poor service and food. Must have closed. Only found dark empty buildings 7/15/18. No recent reviews, so take it as a goner. I know where to find a few in Florida. Updated review once I found it on the 4th pass from other direction. Assume it would have been good for a late dinner. Signs on other side of building by dealership or on rear would work wonders when approaching from the side road. Yelp mapping and also Google mapping were way off. May have been GPS deviation issue which impacted mapping and directions. read more

This was bad. It took a very long time to get our food. Burgers and fries were burnt. Restaurant was cold and dirty. Gentleman seated behind us had to ask to have the seat wiped down. Asked twice for extra napkins before we got them. But most GROSS thing was the cup of my daughters drink had someone else's lipstick on it. Went here Wednesday night (2/27/19) and it was delicious! Everyone was super friendly. Our waitress, Isabelle, was awesome and very sweet. The manager, Ed, was very personable with me and all the other customers around us. I love when the manager of a restaurant makes sure to stop by each table and make sure your dining experience is positive. Our food came out fast and was great! We just had their breakfast for lunch and I must say it was delicious. The customer service is very pleasant and they were very accommodating. I'm very picky and they fit the bill to a T. When the Perkins in State College first opened we did not care for it, so we didn't so for a long time, just recently we started going back and I finally found a menu item that I just loved it was the San Francisco Stir Fry with Chicken, it was my favorite thing to eat there I even told some people about it and they ordered it and liked it, my husband and I went to Perkins on November 13 for dinner and when I ordered my favorite dish, I was told to enjoy it because it was coming off the menu as of November 14. I was so disappointed, I really liked this dish. I hope management changes their minds and don't take it off, because I don't know that we will go there much any more. read more

I'd say Perkins is an all-around average choice. Nothing's bad, nothing is great. The prices are average, so it the service, the quality, and the portion sizes. I don't hate it, but I don't go out of my way to get there. I do appreciate their breakfast foods more than anything else. read more
