Let me start by saying this is one of the best iced/hot lattes I've had. If you're looking for a third wave coffee shop; this isn't it. If you're looking for a better version of starbies- look no further. The coffee is far better than Starbucks, black sugar, or summer moon. I appreciate that they have several non dairy options and several sugar free options. I used to go daily for two shots of espresso and then I'd make my iced latte at home. After a year of that I bought my own espresso machine/set up and began buying their whole beans and making everything at home. Also, order some toast. It's the thickest, softest (with a little crunch) butteriest toast. I. Love. It. So for the frustration/why I gave 3 stars: it seems like the cafe doesn't communicate with the coffee shop. Like the owners or management can't quite figure out how to run both or the employees don't understand. It's extremely frustrating. The hours are different for the cafe and coffee shop and the rules or what they offer are so different. I went to the coffee shop one day and it was fairly dead. I ordered a hot latte in a mug because I prefer glass or ceramic for coffee. It's a different experience from taste to the feel of the warmth on your hands. Plus- the environment. When the lady brought my coffee I asked about the mug as it was in a throw away cup. She informed me I could only have a mug if I went next door to order (to the PB cafe). A bit annoying seeing as both places were fairly empty and all she had to do was walk over and grab a mug. I asked if I could go next door to ask for a mug and she told me no, I would've had to eat there and order the coffee there. Not the biggest thing in the world, just annoying and meh customer service. A few weeks later three friends and I met up at the PB cafe. We all tried ordering coffee and we were told we'd have to go next door to order it. Went next door and they told us the coffee shop was closed and we had to order from the cafe. Went back to the cafe and she reluctantly said she'd take our order but it HAD to be on a separate tab than our food order. Okay that's fine. We ordered our coffee and waited.. and waited... we asked about the coffee and she said she'd go check. Came back later to take our food order which we placed. We asked again about the coffees. She said she forgot and would go check. She brings back my coffee and says I can only have a mug if I'm in the coffee shop. She brings my friends coffee, it's cold and our other friends which is an iced latte and watered down. This was 40 minutes post ordering and she said they had been sitting on the counter waiting. We had to actually ask her to get fresh drinks because she didn't see an issue in giving us drinks that had been sitting for 40 minutes. As for the food- it was good but they were out of sooo many things that we all had to change our order multiple times. I asked the same waitress If the salad was iceberg or more like red/green lettuce/arugula, etc. she said iceberg so I ordered since my stomach doesn't handle the super green lettuces. The salad comes out and it's everything but iceberg. When I called her attention to it she said "my bad; i dont know the difference in iceberg and whatever this is" There's so many more examples of the confusing customer service, the back and forth answers, and no consistency but I think this makes the point. I think this is a great place to go through the drive through for a basic order. But if you're looking for a relaxing spot to read for a bit while drinking a few coffees in a hot mug, this isn't it. TLDR: Love PB coffee, the food is good, the service and consistency between what employees tell you needs a lot of work. read more

We've been coming to Perky Beans Coffee since we moved into Larkspur. Their coffee and breakfast sandwiches/treats are always good. I'm happy to say the PB Cafe next door was absolutely delicious! I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. I wasn't sure how good a burger from a coffee place would be, but I was pleasantly surprised. PB Cafe can definitely stand on its own. I had the Rise and Shine burger, which honestly was better than Red Robin's fried egg burger. Wife and I also shared the Wet Pastrami Fries which were smothered in gravy, cheese, and pastrami. They were amazing. I was mad we ate them so fast. Next time, I'm definitely getting my own plate; they're too good to share. I'm glad PB Cafe is finally open. It was well worth the wait. It is going to be our go to place moving forward for a quick delicious meal. read more

I stopped by here and my family got 3 chai and I got a cortado and it was excellent. My husband decided his chai was too sweet so we popped back in and explained our situation to the barista. She was very accommodating. She took the chai and changed it out for another cortado. Customer Services was excellent all around. We went here with family and a friend earlier in the week and it was wonderful. We had Club Sandwich, 2 pastrami sandwiches with onion rings and seasoned fries with 2 breakfasts all was warm, hot, fresh, tasty and ample portions to where no one left unfulfilled. Service was fast, friendly and very attentive. We never had to wait for and refills of extras. It's not real large and fills up fast make sure and come early. This will be my go-to diner here on out. The food, ambience and service were all top-notch and the prices reasonable. Ordered the veggie lover omelette which was loaded with fresh veggies seasoned perfectly. Also ordered the onion rings. They were piping hot, taut (not floppy) and the two sauces provided with the rings were finger licking good. The service was courteous, attentive. Owner/Manager was on-site and engaged with customers and staff. A sign that quality matters! This place gets my Michelin star. read more

I finally made it a point to stop and visit for brunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon with my husband around 1:30pm. When we arrived, we realized there is a coffee shop with a drive thru and a sit down dining part of Perky Beans. We were quickly seated when we arrived and did wait long till our waitress handed us menus. I was pleased to see that they offered a variety of breakfast and lunch options that were all very intriguing. I wanted to try them all but went with the blueberry Belgian Waffles which have fresh blueberries folded into the thick Belgian waffle topped with whipped cream and served with maple syrup ($9.50) and my husband ordered the southwest steak Benedict ($15.50) both were very delicious. I loved how the waffle has a slight crisp outer layer and soft inner layer and the blueberries were fresh. I added a side of bacon which included two strips that were a little greasy but cooked to perfection. To drink I had a strawberry mimosa which was so yummy that I had two. Everything was very good and I can't wait to go back to try other menu items. I'm so glad I finally tried this place since I live so close. It's so convenient! Overall: It's a great local place if you don't want to wait in line for an hour at First Watch. The service, food and ambiance is great! We love Perky Beans but not lately. We ordered matcha green tea lattes with Almond Milk and noticed they were pouring whole milk to our order. Saw them pouring in whole milk and questioned it. We pay extra for the almond milk BUT most importantly we are lactose intolerant. They apologized and made lattes with almond milk. My husband did not feel well the last time we ordered green tea lattes so now we know why, seems they must have used whole milk when we always order almond milk. It was disappointing to see this happen with our order and to have to write a poor review. Lately l, we've noticed the quality is not the same - our lattes taste watered down and now we have to ask for extra chai or matcha. Maybe time for a new coffee house to try. read more

Food is great, servers too. Front of the house personnel have a questionable concept of time management. Holding up tables for people that are not in the premises. The food is good the service was not. We waited 50 minutes to get our order today, which is very disappointing and not a single apology was given. We had an order of pumpkin pancakes, chicken fried steak and eggs, and the farmer plate. Everything came out warm and together, the orders were pretty accurate except for eggs which were over medium rather than over easy. I am going to give both Perky Beans and PB Cafe another 5 stars. It is so sad seeing people being so pity with their one star review. This place rocks. People, this isn't your big cooperate restaurant who doesn't care about their people and product. PB is the go to place for coffee and brunch between Leander and Liberty Hill. And now with the construction of the toll road going up, it is even better that we don't have to see the Larkspur and their fancy entrance. I love my bullfrog or mango red bull smoothie. read more

The food here is always good and services is even better. I love coming here. Now the food is so good you have to wait to get in. Average wait each time we come has always been 30-45 minutes. The staff always seems misinformed by the management. Poor girls running around with no guidance or proper supervision but from what I've seen is consistent disrespect to the waitresses by management. Will not provide business to a business who cannot respect all employees. Hi Angie- This is a legitimate review not here to sabotage your business, but I've seen what I've seen and been there plenty of times to make my own judgement to claim this behavior was "always" the treatment I noticed. The service here is super quick and the servers are super nice! They have a good amount of parking and tables to work at. I do wish they had more outlets but that's not the biggest deal. I ordered the Matcha Green Tea Latte and if you're into sweet drinks, you will love it. My only complaint is that it had more of a sugar taste than a matcha taste. read more

I am a regular here at this location, ever since it opened. The coffee is fantastic, and the food well made. But the reason my partner and I go back daily is for the staff. The baristas, cooks and managers are some of the loveliest customer-forward people we have ever encountered. Throughout covid, short staffing, issues from upper management, etc etc- they have always had smiles on their faces and engage with you in a welcoming manner. I am rather disheartened to see a review from ~10 days prior admonishing someone for wearing their pronouns on their uniform. That barista in question is one of the best people I've come across in any service position. I hope the owners made this person feel safe and protected in their employment. Regardless, I will continue to come and spend money daily here if the wonderful staff continue to be a part of my daily coffee routine. read more

Great food, friendly staff. The reason for my 3 stars is that they have a farmer's breakfast entree that you have the option of adding on a pancake for $2.50. The normal price of the pancake is $6.99. I requested that instead of adding a pancake I would like to make it a French toast which normal price is $7.99. Only a dollars more that the pancake. But...the waiter put up a fight saying she can't add the French toast alone she would need to charge me for it as a whole separate entree. SUPER disappointing especially since they love to claim that they are a scratch kitchen. Sadly this completely ruined my experience and will NOT be returning. Ugh such a simple fix that could have gotten them a 5 star. What happened to going above and beyond for your customer?? :( read more

(Pun intended ) Every coffee I've tried here, including Espresso shots, no bitterness whatsoever. I love their cheese danishes, when they have them. This is the best brunch up north! I'm gluten-free and dairy-free, and they had a lot to offer, including a GF English muffin option. Everything was top-notch delicious. The bacon and sausage was amazing, and we were fighting over the GF avocado toast. The fruit salad was super varied and perfectly ripe. The omelette was great, and everything was served perfectly in spite of our modifying much of it. Great service, and the coffee can't be beat!.. They really know their coffee. There was a very long wait last weekend when we tried to return, so keep that in mind (but definitely worth the wait!). I also love how they use different little stickers as drink stoppers in the to go lane. It's super helpful having them on your drink lid to tell which one is yours in a crowded car. Clever! Great service today! We like to try new brunch places on Sundays, 3 kids in tow. We arrived at Perky Beans at 10am. There were 2 groups of people waiting outside yet they told us it was at least a 1 hour wait. We knew it was common for people to wait in the coffee shop so we took a chance. The text they sent to us said 13 tables ahead, 75 minutes. Our kids had technically already ate so we waited near our car and so glad we did because we were seated at 10:30! Everything we ordered was fantastic! My Benedict was cooked to perfection and all 3 kids nearly cleaned their plates. The staff was so friendly. We will definitely come back. I cannot express how much we love PB cafe. The food is incredible. The cooks are experts and craft meals way beyond what would be appropriate for a little hole in the wall Texas restaurant. The Saturday crew especially crushes it. The wait staff is excellent and they train up great people. The kitchen is visible to the dining area and it looks spotless.
