Staff was very professional and helpful, maybe borderline hipster because of their clothing style and how laid back they were. Their coffee is more European style with small cups, stronger flavor and just the right amount of cream (if any). I love my coffee just like that. I had a piccolo coffee which was excellent. My girlfriend on the other had needed added sweetness to her Dirty Chai Coffee. It was borderline bitter, so if you are looking for Starbucks style sugar drinks, you may be disappointed. The other people in our group had Flat whites which were also the perfect balance of coffee and cream. Their Gluten free snacks were excellent (although very little selection since they were almost sold out for the day which was disappointing since we visited around 3pm, which to us, is coffee and cake time). Regular treats like donuts and cinnamon twists were also good but not spectacular. One complaint we had is that all our drinks were made and served one after another so by the time the last drink was served, the first person in our group were about done with their coffee. Overall a very good, clean and contemporary building/atmosphere...Will visit again for sure. read more

The coffee is a dedicated perfection. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the place is clean and comfortable. I personally believe that the music in the background is a bit loud and the menu is a touch high, but it doesn't take away from the experience of being in a fine coffee shop. Very industrial looking, this place serves the best coffee in town, period. If there is any room for improvement in this company it's not in the coffee. Came in today for a hot coffee. First thing that caught my eye was the cold brew dripping high up on the wall, so cool! I will have to try it next time. Perq serves a great cup of light roast coffee. Keith ground my panama beans fresh and expertly brewed a large chemex pour over coffee. The resulting cup was full flavored, fruity and delish. The atmosphere is hip and Keith made me feel instantly welcome. I will definitely be back. Rock on! read more

Was between 3 and 4 stars but I'm a great guy so I'll round up. Yes the cold brew is overpriced. It's super strong though. Turn that 16oz cup into 32oz with some water and another 16oz cup. I'd give them 6 stars if I could! I used to live in the neighborhood and I would rather spend an extra dollar on a coffee from a small business, like Perq, than Starbucks! It look me a few visits to get adapted to their menu, but the owner and employees were so helpful and knowledgeable about the coffee. Finally!!! GREAT coffee in Sarasota. The best I've had outside of Italy!!! Their coffee has a huge flavor without tasting burnt like most Starbucks coffee. Very rich. Great service. One person takes the order another fills that order unlike so many places where the cashier does it all with lines backing up. The pastries could be better. The design of the place leaves the (great) music bouncing off the hard surfaces (hot). But for this taste/flavor I can get past all the little things. Love it. read more

We have been here twice now- we just recently moved from NYC so we liked the look of the place. The coffee is too bitter, the staff is cold and pretentious. It feels like it's trying to be like a Brooklyn coffee shop- but we know the difference. Check out Kahwa instead. read more

We just moved here and live near by and were excite such a cool place to hang out and hopefully have good coffee. Wow, beyond the cool setting, the "pour over" coffee was an expensive disappointment. $5.26 for a large coffee that tasted about the same as a cup of dunking donuts. Yuck. Weak and no great flavor. I won't go back. Staff were less than friendly something critical to a single non chain operation. Starbucks is packed at 7am this place was empty. read more
