We took our senior bully Roma aka MoMo to the vet today for a growth on her side and overall checkup. The doctor and entire staff were absolutely awesome. Dr Breidenbaugh was so sweet and attentive to our girl and made us feel like we're in the right place. She was so gentle and extremely reassuring during the entire process. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who has pets. You won't be disappointed. This is the only place we will go for our precious fur babies medical care. read more

Really bad. They treated my pet nicely but they treated me like garbage. After being an established client with no kind of outstanding balance or history of missing or late appointments, for a regular check up I was asked to prepay. Apparently I wasn't a sure prospect on their books. Of course I was mortified but I just wanted peace so I went along with it. The day before our appointment I received a phone call to confirm that I and my cat would be at our appointment. I confirmed this. I had already taken the day off work and arranged for transport, and paid for the appointment. The morning of I received an unexpected call from Perry hall canceling my appointment. Perry hall found me as an established client necessary to prepay, yet couldn't keep thier own appointment. These people are arrogant and unapologetically rude. read more

The staff is very nice. They are gentle and very sweet to my dog who is skittish. The facility is clean. My pup is very skittish and doesnt like people (even us) messing with his feet. So when they checked his paws, he did have to be distracted. But they did take it slow with him. When giving him a shot they had 2 other people come hold him. Hes a little smaller than medium and I think they thought he was going to bite. But with them holding him and us distracting him, things went well. They seem to care a lot. And one of the best vets we have been to! read more

They are kind and compassionate. They are very patient even when I'm asking 1000 questions during my visits and when I call with even more. They are very accommodating with the schedule. They can be a bit pricey in my opinion BUT the positives generally outweigh that. I'm glad they were recommended to me by another vet, which means a lot in my opinion. I apologize for the long review/post but I want to make everyone aware of our latest experience with Perry Hall Animal Hospital. I understand that each client has instances unique to their own and up until recently, we were fine with the clinic. I just want to share what happened personally happened to us. If you're thinking of taking your pet/s to Perry Hall Animal Hospital, don't. Unless they make personnel changes with their front desk staff, specifically a lady named Rachel, you're much better off seeking veterinary care with the many qualified hospitals and practices around the Baltimore area. After over a year of curbside appointments for our senior dog who was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, I was relieved to finally schedule an in-person appointment with our vet. Originally scheduled for Saturday, July 17, they asked to change my appointment to Tuesday, July 20, accommodate changes to our vet's schedule. I agreed to the change with hesitation, knowing that we will be coming from Hampden on a week day during rush hour so there may be some traffic on our way to the appointment. The lady who changed my appointment told me it was fine and to just keep them posted for any changes. On the day of our appointment, I ended my workday early in order to get to Perry Hall by 5:30 p.m. Due to rush hour traffic that I previously mentioned and road closures, our GPS gave us an arrival time of 5:37 p.m. At 5:09 p.m., I called PHAH as a courtesy to let them know that we were on our way and may be a few minutes late due to the current road conditions. With a complete lack of empathy and understanding, Rachel notified us that our in-person appointment with Dr. Baer would be switched to a curbside appointment if we were late. I explained our situation of coming from the city during rush hour and that I made an in-person appointment to raise health concerns that I have been noticing on my 13 year old dog. She said she would ask the vet and after about a minute or so, she reiterated that our in-person appointment would switch to a curbside one if we were late. At this point, I expressed my frustration with the situation and said that we were doing our best to get there close to our appointment time and that I really needed to be in the exam room with the vet to better explain my dog's condition. Rachel insisted that it wasn't possible and threatened to hang up the phone. After my boyfriend explained that we have been taking our dog there for years (since 2016), have spent thousands of dollars in vet care, that we were traveling from the city to see a vet who knows our dog's health history, she told us that if we were displeased, she suggested that we make an appointment with a different vet and hung up the phone. As someone who works in healthcare, I was baffled and in disbelief with her combative attitude and lack of professionalism. For someone who works with people and their pets who many consider family, how she handled the situation negatively impacted our relationship with PHAH. It made us feel that we were only a business transaction instead of patients who have been going to the practice for over five years. After the debacle, Dr. Baer called us to inform us that their policy states that clients who are over 10 minutes late for in-person appointments would be switched to curbside. I notified her that we would not be 10 minutes late and that Rachel never even mentioned the 10-minute policy. All she said that if we were late, our appointment would be switched. We arrived at 5:38 p.m., I called to check-in, Rachel answered the phone again, asking our parking spot for curbside service then hung up. Being under the 10-minute policy window, we were seen by the vet as originally planned. Our in-person appointment was fine, I paid for the services rendered and we left. The incident wasn't acknowledged and brushed under the rug. No apologies have been issued. If you would like for you and your pets to be treated with care and compassion by all levels of staff, save yourself from the stress and go somewhere else. read more

They took my two GSDs as new patients a couple months ago, and the level of care has been exponentially greater, more detailed, and more thorough than any that we have ever been with before. Staff is super nice, helpful. Sometimes a bit of a long wait on the phone. But they are very flexible with appts. Felt very safe and comfortable bringing my new puppy there. Very good about making payment arrangements. But did get talked into a puppy package for a few hundred bucks, as well as a payment plan option for 25 extra dollars- which is supposed to split your payments into 3's. I realized later this was ONLY for the puppy package and all other service fees were due in advance or upfront at the time of service. read more

Where do I begin? I went into PHAH completely heart broken & devastated after losing a pet who wasn't even a year old. He died suddenly from unknown causes in Ocean City where I recently moved although PHAH has always been where I took my other animals. I made an appt with PHAH b/c I wanted to bring my other cat in to get tested to see if there was anything he might have contracted from my deceased cat. Dr. H could not have been more sensitive & understanding as I sat there sobbing trying to tell her what had transpired the day my kitty passed. Meanwhile, the other vet I took him to in OC a few days before he died (where they said they couldn't find anything wrong with him) never even called to follow up, send an email or sympathy card (like I know a lot of vets do). I felt left without any answers & second guessing myself about everything to try & figure out if it was something that could have been avoided. Dr. H sat down with me, listened to everything I could think of to tell her...and even if we couldn't figure it out, she gave me some peace of mind knowing it most likely wasn't something I did or could have been avoided b/c of what happened. I am still completely broken hearted after losing my little guy so young, but I can't tell you how much it meant to me for her to sit there & hear me out when I'm sure she had a busy schedule. We were referred to Perry Hall by a friend when we got our puppy. Dr. Klimovitz is great. She is very friendly and really cares for your pet. She was very hands on with our pup, answered all the questions we had, and gave us good recommendations. Dr. Klimovitz goes above and beyond. They also offer a puppy package, which is extremely helpful as it lists all of the things your pup needs in the first year (and at a great price!). Her staff is very friendly and helpful. You can tell that everyone enjoys what they do and the office they do it at. The office has great hours and are flexible with your scheduling needs. read more

Generally an okay place. my pets have been treated well I assume (because I've never been invited in for my vets appointments). Me, not so much. Only set foot in the door to swipe a credit card to pay. Somehow every visit there's an issue with me coming in and I'm not liking it. Wednesday 11/23 I went in to ask about it and had a technician get slick out the mouth with me like it's my job to tell her to read the notes on my account that clearly say when my pets come for a visit that I am to always come in with them. Needless to say I'm looking elsewhere for my pet's health care and I'll be looking into weather this practice of keeping me outside is discriminatory or personal because I've watched a lot of folks walking while I was asked to remain in my car. read more

PERRY HALL ANIMAL HOSPITAL SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE!! Sophie, my beagle/bulldog mix, was diagnosed at another animal hospital with a genetic kidney disease that gave her only a month or two to live - no guidance, no treatment, no solution. I was absolutely devastated. A friend referred me to Dr. Klimovitz for a 2nd opinion and I couldn't believe what a different experience it was! Dr. Klimovitz was on the floor with Sophie the whole time and jumped right into action. Within a few days she had an ultrasound that determined it wasn't the genetic kidney disease, but a uterine mass that was crowding her insides and backing up her kidneys. She had emergency surgery to remove the mass, along with her left kidney and part of her bladder. It was an extensive surgery, but with the help of Dr. Arthur at Mobile Veterinary Surgery and Animal Emergency Hospital, Sophie is already feeling and acting more like her old self again! With how quickly Sophie was declining, I'm sure that she would have only had a few pained and uncomfortable days left, but PHAH gave my baby her life back! She will still need care and treatment, at least in the near future, but she is now living a life that is a 180 degree difference than just over a week ago! Dr. Klimovitz and her staff are AMAZING! They treated Sophie (and every pet I've seen come in) as if she was their own. They know all of the pets by name (and their humans) and they all rallied to make sure that everything possible was being done to get Sophie well again! Dr. Klimovitz kept me informed every step of the way and is always available for questions. I can't imagine taking my dogs anywhere else - I'm so extremely grateful for PHAH! read more

We brought our new puppy to PHAH for his first vet visit and were very impressed by the staff and Doctor. Booking his appointment took only one 5 minute phone call, and they called me the day before to confirm. The staff was excellent with my puppy: weighing him, scanning his microchip, and establishing a file for our dog. Dr. Klimovitz got right down on the floor to play and examine him. She answered all of our questions and put a few anxieties to bed without ever making us feel rushed. I really appreciate that. I hope I don't have to come here often, because it's a pet hospital, but I'm glad it's there when we need it. read more

LOVE this vet. With one of our dogs we have tried a couple different vets and this one is by far the best. Reesy has allergies and the vet took the best care to get rid of her ear infection to ensure it does recur which no other vet has done. Their prices are lower than other vets we've tried and what's even better is they give you an estimate before they do anything to ensure you understand the price ahead of time rather than finding out after the fact. Most of all, they love animals. You'd think it comes with the territory of being a vet but don't take that for granted. We went to a vet once that was strictly business. Interacting with my dog is a big part of the experience and the entire staff is very friendly and have great "bedside manner" with the dogs. Even the front desk girls are extremely intelligent about the medications and diagnosis of the dogs. read more

Dr. Klimovitz was our "2nd opinion" after our previous vet couldn't figure out what was wrong with our dog Yoshi in late 2011, which happened to be not long after she took over Perry Hall Animal Hospital. I'm pleased to say that after numerous tests and multiple after-hours phone calls, Dr. Klimovitz gave us a diagnosis and treatment plan that have worked to make Yoshi a much happier pup. In December 2012, we moved about an hour away and began the process of switching to a local vet. We were sorely disappointed in our options. When we compared our new vet to Dr. K, they came up short in every category except location! We made the decision to keep Yoshi under the primary care of Dr. Klimovitz because we are so pleased with the care that Yoshi gets whenever something is amiss. Sarah (at the front desk) knows us by name (which speaks to how often we make the trek up there - haha) and every time I call for a medication refill or appointment she is cheerful and eager to help. When we lived in the area, their late-evening hours were a lifesaver when we had to work late but needed an appointment or medication refill. Now that we live farther away, their Saturday morning hours are incredibly convenient when we can't make it to White Marsh during the week. I can't imagine being happier with a vet. I saw Dr. Baer and she was just wonderful. Everyone was very pleasant and made a fuss over how pretty my cat was (it's always nice when someone does that). We were in and out quickly and the prices were very reasonable. They even measured out individual doses of meds for my kitty for me to take home. Just a fantastic experience and I am so happy to have finally found a vet near me! read more

I previously wrote an excellent review. I took my first dog to this hospital. I wish I could find a way to delete it, but since I'm unable to, I'd like to write a retraction. I'm HIGHLY disappointed with this hospital and the staff here. I thought when I took my dog here that we were a team in caring for my dog. The receptionist talked me into getting pet insurance for my dog and using Embrace, which is a company that they recommended. I got pet insurance, but since I'm a brand new dog mom who also suffers from anxiety, I called quite a few times my first few weeks of owning my dog. I was never once told that any of the information I called about would be recorded. If I would have been told this, I wouldn't have called so much. Because of their lack of due diligence in informing me that everything I called in about was being recorded, my dog is being penalized and cannot get proper pet insurance as a result. Just be forwarded, that they everything you say will be held against you and they won't tell you in advance that you what you CALL about is being recorded. read more

I took my 11 year old dog for a full physical and second opinion to Perry Hall Animal Hospital see Dr. Klimovitz after looking at reviews online and hearing about how great she is through a friend. From the moment we walked in, the staff was courteous and welcoming and treated my dog like the most important thing in the world. In my dog's 11 years, we have seen a number of vets and vet specialists (cardiology, ER, surgery, oncology) but Dr. Klimovitz was second to none. Right away, she made my nervous dog right at ease by getting down on her level and playing with her. She is so thorough, knowledgeable and prepared (she read through countless pages of records from my dog's other providers prior to us getting there). She was able to speak to me in a language I could understand, explaining the diagnosis and treatment options for my old girl. She went above and beyond what any other provider has done for my dog (by coming up with a treatment plan to extend my dog's life and maintain her quality, rather than just referring us to another specialist like the others had done) and I am forever grateful. I will continue to make the 1 hour drive because I feel like no one will take care of my dog like she will. I feel very fortunate to have found Perry Hall Animal Hospital and will be sending my friends and family there, as well! read more

I could not be happier with this animal hospital. We were new to the area and chose this vet from reviews. The office is always clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and our vet is very attentive. Whenever I call with a concern about my dog, they give me suggestions and if they do not work, they find time to fit him in. The prices are VERY reasonable and they never order unnecessary testing, unlike other vets I have been to. I really appreciate them taking my dog to a different room without me when they need a blood sample. I had a vet that tortured my dog while I was standing there and it was heartbreaking. I have searched for the last 20 years for the right Veterinary hospital for my pets both past and present. I have gone to so many, always searching for the right fit. I never found one that I felt confident and secure with. I was always at the mercy of whatever the doctor said or did and I always left with a feeling of uncertainty and a big bill that left me feeling I had paid way more that necessary for the service rendered.
