First off, we were very excited to try this place. We love any place that looks like a hole-in-the-wall but pumps out amazing food and that's what we thought we were getting, especially based on the pricing. We were underwhelmed to say the least. While the views are absolutely stunning, and the freshness of the lobster is nothing to question, I just expected a lot more. For the lobster to come right off the boat in front of you, I'd think the prices would be more reasonable since it's so easily accessible. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try but my bill would've easily been $200 for a lunch for 2. Absolutely not. My wife and I each got a lobster roll and refused to order anything to drink because again, the prices were crazy. We got one side of fries because....well you get it. I got the traditional lobster roll and my wife got the lobster roll with butter. Now, I do love that these don't come on a traditional roll, but instead they come like a burger or sloppy joe, on a bun. However, the bun could have at least been toasted. I thought my lobster roll was pretty good as far as the flavor of the lobster goes but there was zero seasoning so it was only just the right amount of mayo and lobster. My wife liked her roll except that the chunks of lobster were too big for her liking. It would have been better if it was shredded a bit more to get the butter in there. I personally thought her lobster tasted better than mine but with the buns literally just coming out of the pack and no seasoning, I just don't understand the hype of a lobster roll. We ate them because we were in Maine and that is what you do but I would never spend nearly $100 on 2 rolls and a side of fries ever again. read more

This place is a cute little stop if you're looking for some simple seafood or a lobster roll. When we arrived, the wind was absolutely horrendous so we decided to order to-go. Our group of eight had all placed their orders, and several minutes later we were told that they were out of their lobster mac and cheese. It ended up being okay but we had several children and picky eaters in our group and it was a bit frustrating to not know they were out until we had committed and paid. Regardless, we got our food in about twenty minutes and it survived the car ride home and was warm by the time we got back to the Airbnb. I haven't had lobster too many times and didn't know what to expect, but our group's resident New Englander noted that even for soft shell lobster, it was pretty hard. The lobster dinner I ordered was pretty plain but still tasty and came with lobster, boiled corn, and coleslaw. Overall, this place was cute and did the job, but I don't know if the food is for me. read more

Does it get any better than this when you're staying in a sleepy fishing and lobstering town? No. We sat on the extended deck over the water and enjoyed fresh lobster on a chilly foggy night as fresh lobster traps were being brought up to the kitchen. It was picturesque and bonus... the food was delicious. Side note, this place appears to be BYOB, the couple next to us even brought their own box of wine! I am so disappointed with my favorite lobster place Perry's Lobster Co. They had NO lobsters at lunchtime today. The service was slow. I opted for a surf & turf sandwich $35 ; it was awful. If you're looking for simple great lobster and clams here is where you want to find. It's tucked down a little ways off the main road but right on the water. If you want wine or a beer it's BYOB... they also have only a sink outside to wash your hands and port-o-lets out back should you need... But back to the reason we're here. You see the tanks of lobsters literally on the docks, and the guys bring them In fresh right past the tables. I had 2 one and a half pounders, and a pound of steamers. I know my limit. The table behind me ordered a 2 pound and 3 pound lobsters. They took up the whole tray! You can get soft shells or hard. I like soft. The meat is sweeter. Came here on the recommendation of a local friend - but was sadly disappointed by the lobster roll. To start, it was easily the most expensive I have seen since home this summer. As for the sandwich itself, it are dry to me. Roll was not buttered and toasted, which I think would have helped, and the ratio of lobster to bread was off for me. The lobster salad filling itself was good - just the right amount of Mayo and nothing extra. The slaw was vinegar based, which I like, but it just ate too sweet for me. We got to go meals our first night in Maine as my 83 yr old dad was tired from traveling. The lobster was great as was the lobster roll and lobster mac. The lobster bisque was out of this world with big pieces of lobster. Would definitely go back if ever in maine again. The dining on the pier is unique and would definitely like to try sometime. My friend and I ate there last night and had the worst experience. The lobster roll which was marked as ''market price" barely had any lobster on it and it had a bundle of hair on the bottom of the bun. The server did remove it from the bill and offer another one but my appetite was already ruined. The mussels were tiny and came with dinner instead of before as an appetizer. We went to Perry's after a long day of hiking in Acadia. I was pleasantly surprised by the dock seating. We ordered the soft shell lobster dinner which came with bread, corn on the cob, 1lb of mussels. The 2lb lobster was good but value was not a focus. Bring your bottle and grab one of the rocks on the beach or a chair around the fire pit! We have been watching from our camp and the tables are full every afternoon and evening. Breaks my heart to do this as I've been going to Perry's for 30+ years. When Perry was selling fresh lobster. We live on Newbury Neck and this is our absolute go to place for fresh or steamed lobster. Today was one of only 2-3 times we've eaten on the dock. The setting is 5 Star Shack Life! We ordered Steamers, oysters and Lobster rolls. Everything was overpriced. However the steamers and ouzo were fantastic. So far a 4. But the lobster rolls at $24 each weren't worth $9 even in this high priced market. It included a pickle. Served on a bulkie (first issue) as the menu called the rolls. Second the bulkie tasted store bought and was dried out. Only 1 of the 4 of us finished the bread. Next the quantity of the lobster was sad. Literally maybe 1/2 a lobster maybe. The meat was fine but nothing but meat and dried bread. It was so small our niece was in the bathroom when they brought the rolls out. By the time she returned 2 of us finished the lobster meat ( I know bad manners but it was 4 bites). We will certainly go back. However until they step up their roll game we won't be having them. read more

Our server was sweet, however the service was slow. We ordered the lobster roll, a Maine specialty, and the crab dip. The lobster roll was delicious, tons of lobster with a hint of mayonnaise on a buttered Kaiser roll. The lobster was fresh as was the roll, it needed a touch of salt and pepper because it was little bland. The crab dip was a wonderful mixture of fresh crab, horseradish, mayonnaise, and spices.
