Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes was our very first stop after a long day's drive from the White Mountains, and honestly, it set the tone for our whole Maine adventure. Even the wind tried to crash our dinner, but the food more than made up for it. We started with the lobster bisque, which my husband took very seriously -- he ordered bisque everywhere we went in Maine and appointed himself an unofficial judge. Verdict here? Top contender. The lobster tail was fresh, buttery perfection, and that sweet corn on the cob might've been the best I've ever had (sorry, Midwest). Our server was an absolute gem -- friendly, funny, and full of great tips. She even told us to check out the beach across the street, where I found my very first piece of sea glass. Bottom line: great food, lovely people, and a seaside charm that makes you forget the wind's trying to steal your napkin.

We were craving lobster!! And we saw a sign on the side of the road for twin lobsters for $35. So we had to get it!!! I got the twin lobsters. And my boyfriend got the Downeast Lobster Bake, which is a full lobster with clam chowder and mussels and blueberry cake. My twin lobsters were INCREDIBLE. I ate ALL OF IT! They made the lobster to perfection. Juicy and tender and soft! I do like my lobster with lots of lemon. And I had to ask for extra lemons twice bc they only gave me a couple slices at a time. So I was a little disappointed about that. The clam chowder was okay. Good but there wasn't much clams in there so I probably wouldn't get it again. The mussels were okay, they were not flavorful. The blueberry cake was delicious. If we go again, I think my boyfriend and I will stick to simplicity and both order twin lobsters!

With so many lobster serving restaurants in this general area to choose from we found this 1 w high reviews & took a chance on and did not disappoint. We started w a Pinot Noir wine very good taste, a delicious healthy baked haddock filet w corn, slaw & tartar sauce then the main event a 1.5# Maine lobster dinner with side of Mac n cheese plus butter our server Jordan H she kindly assisted us taking the meat from tail, claws & knuckle out. We sat @ an outside table watching the waterfront. Ambiance felt private. Plenty of free parking available. I rate 4.5 stars. The temperature here in northern Bar harbor Maine was a constant 45 degrees at night also from this point Nova Scotia, Canada (Titanic departure port) hi speed ferry service was available thru Sept. 22nd. The people here are truly kind, hospitable as well.

It was just OK. We arrived and there were cars in the parking lot, so we figured it would be good. It was also recommended by our campground check-in person. There were a lot of people because there was a wedding rehearsal going on. There weren't any other customers. The service was good. We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly and prompt. The food was mixed. The chowder was pretty good. We shared a whole lobster meal. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery/tough. We were very disappointed as this was our first meal in Maine and it was rather expensive. I have had much better lobster on cruise ships and at home getting tails from Publix. We will try another place because they certainly can't all be this bad.

Lobster roll was good, but nothing life changing. I wouldn't go out of my way for this lobster. Mussels were mussels, good, but very plain. Now what I WOULD go out of my way for was that incredible Blueberry Pie and Blueberry Ice Cream. Best way to end the day. Walked right in at 7:30 on a Monday in Mid-October. Big place, but the ambience wasn't anything too special. A fun vibe and nice view!

Before we made our trip out to Maine I had save a few places to try one of them was Maine Lobster Bakes. I didn't realize it was even on my list until I looked it up to leave a review. We just stopped because we were so hungry after our drive up. Totally worth it. Friendly, Fast and Food was perfect.

When in Maine you have to eat lobster. This had some good reviews and there are a ton of other lobster restaurants in Maine. I can't say how this is comparable to the others but it was delicious. You can definitely tell the difference in the taste. The clam chowder was the best I've tasted (Midwest). We ate outside and the picnic tables made the place and it was definitely a lobster place. The server was excellent, he kept on checking with us. One nice thing about this place is the instructions for eating lobster. I had the lobster bake and clam chowder which the lobster was sweet and the clam chowder had fresh clams. Places I've been to, the clam a tasted fishy. My wife had the lobster Mac and cheese and she loved it as she isn't really a lobster person. My meal came with a blueberry cake. It was a la mode. It was sweet and made perfectly. I guess blueberry's are the popular fruit in Maine. If you are in Bar Harbor ME and want lobster this is a good place to eat.

This place was so great! The server was so friendly, funny, and polite. There is inside and outside seating, but we sat inside (it was so hot coming back from Pirate's Cove, another great attraction) and enjoyed the view of the beautiful cove. My brother and I both got their lobster rolls, 34 dollars per roll, much less than other places charging 40. And they overflow the rolls with lobster! The slaw was good a tasted fresh. Blueberry soda from Bar Harbor, lemonade is freshly squeezed, and iced tea is freshly brewed. Yum! And my grandmother got the clam chowder, I tried some, and it was the best! The thing that topped it off, though, was the wonderful blueberry pie, served with homemade blueberry ice cream and whipped cream. It was absolutely amazing. This place is probably the most underrated lobster place in Bar Harbor. Definitely would recommend.

This for sure was the best restaurant we ate at this week, I'm glad we made the hour drive to experience this place! We got the lunch special 2 lobsters for only $35 it came with corn! We each had a cup of clam chowder, it was very creamy and delicious! For dessert we tried the blueberry pie with ice cream, it was very good! The hostess and the Server were very friendly and helpful making suggestions! Our table had a view of the ocean, the restaurant was Decorated very cute and was very clean!

Very good Maine lobster. I've tried their dinner combo that comes with muscles, clam chowder, corn, and a dessert. Next time I come, I'd recommend getting the twin lobsters. Maine lobsters are just amazing and sweet. This is a great pit stop if you want to get lobster before head to bar harbor center. Service was great. Spacious with parking Nice view of the waterfront. I would come back here when I visit Maine again.

    Tomato & burrata salad

The food quality for the price doesn't add up. Enjoyed the tomato and burrata salad, but the potato salad is not good and the clam chowder was only ok. My husband didn't care for his meal at all. People were friendly though and you'll have a great view if you sit outside or next to the windows.

Simple and super fresh. Ordered the lobster basket with corn on the cob, mussels and clam chowder. Tasty chowder, a little salty for my taste. Lobster bisque is good and creamy. Blueberry cake with blueberry ice cream was yummy. Clean and beautiful ambiance. Nice greeters and servers. We'll come back. It made our trip gastronomically exciting.

Well the food is pretty good, but the service isn't great. Not horrible, but the lack attention to what the customer is ordering. So other than that is good food and nice location with great views. Had a live musician, but he never hit a cord the whole time we were here.

The price is right for huge portions here along Hull's Cove. Delish lobster bisque and huge, creamy cheesy lobster mac and cheese.

We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.
