If you're looking for simple great lobster and clams here is where you want to find. It's tucked down a little ways off the main road but right on the water. If you want wine or a beer it's BYOB... they also have only a sink outside to wash your hands and port-o-lets out back should you need... But back to the reason we're here. You see the tanks of lobsters literally on the docks, and the guys bring them In fresh right past the tables. I had 2 one and a half pounders, and a pound of steamers. I know my limit. The table behind me ordered a 2 pound and 3 pound lobsters. They took up the whole tray! You can get soft shells or hard. I like soft. The meat is sweeter. Plenty of parking across the street, credit cards accepted great place!!

Super conflicted about this place... CONS We got here at 620 Got seated at 730 Didn't get served until 830 Probably the longest wait I've ever had at a roadside "shack" No indoor seating. True to its name Lobster roll was $35 BUT It was the best lobster roll I've had so... Maybe this should be a takeout only place?

Awesome! Awesome! Great vibe sitting out on the dock on a beautiful day. Service was fast, informative, and friendly. Food was incredible and fairly priced. We tried the soft shell dinner, lobster roll of the day, and lobster mac and cheese -- it was all great. Desserts were incredible, both the blueberry pie and the molasses ice cream sandwich with ginger ice cream, wow!

Perry's Lobster Shack - can't get any closer to the water without falling in!

Came here on the recommendation of a local friend - but was sadly disappointed by the lobster roll. To start, it was easily the most expensive I have seen since home this summer. As for the sandwich itself, it are dry to me. Roll was not buttered and toasted, which I think would have helped, and the ratio of lobster to bread was off for me. The lobster salad filling itself was good - just the right amount of Mayo and nothing extra. The slaw was vinegar based, which I like, but it just ate too sweet for me. I wanted more of the vinegar punch to cut through the rich lobster. Onion rings were good - and hot. The view was spectacular and staff was friendly.

We started our vacation in Maine on June 15th. We were driving from Bangor to Bar Harbor and decided to detour a bit from the direct route. We were so glad we did! The food was amazing and the views were a painter's dream. This was the perfect spot to unwind and relax after the flights and to get in vacation mode. The server was incredible and we loved every second.

Beautiful location with excellent service and wonderful food. If you are wanting to escape the crowds of Bar Harbor come to Perry's. Eating whole lobsters and lobster rolls while sitting on the dock overlooking the water is peaceful and priceless. Check out the Perry's combo special.

Great lobster, and clam chowder. Great price too! Be sure to bring your own adult beverage if you want to partake

Second times the charm. Came back and this time the steamers were perfection. The lobster grilled cheese great and my first time trying soft shell lobster was a success. Super sweet and easy to open. Lovely view as always. Worth it!

Lobster al fresco on the dock with a view of Mt. Desert Island. Perfect! And good desserts too.

Seeing it in the distance fills me with an overwhelming sense of excitement as it meant returning to one of my favorite hiking spots in New England (so far) and beginning a weeklong binge on Maine's freshest seafood. I absolutely love this tiny and unassuming (from the outside) seafood market and couldn't wait to be back again this year. Last year, it was the first stop to pick up ingredients for my weeklong visit to Acadia National Park. This year, after a whole year of telling anyone and everyone I knew visiting Acadia, it was once again my first stop after I started driving from Boston. Loaded Lobster Roll - check. Loaded Crab Roll - check. Dorr Hoodie - check. Fresh scallops - check. 5# bag of steamers - check. Calamari salad - check. A pair of lovely fresh and alive lobsters for later - check. Some of the freshest stuff at really competitive prices. What's there not to like? Oh yeah, there is Tim with his super sarcastic sense of humor. A conversation with him just absolutely cracks me up. Super nice dude with a lot of information and makes the overall experience here even better than it already is. I also got to meet the father and son owners during this visit. Always glad to meet the hardworking fishermen behind the amazing product that I've become addicted to.

Our party of 4 had the lobster mac n cheese (didn't get a pic of this because my son devoured it so quickly, YUM!), crab roll, clam chowder and 2 lobster dinners, plus a couple cold beers to wash it down. It was all amazing. Best lobster dinner I've had up here, and we've been coming to Maine for 14 years. The folks working here are all so attentive, kind, going above and beyond. Example - I don't care for the stuff in the body that you sometimes get with super fresh lobsters. Apparently this is a delicacy, but this Southern girl says no thanks. I asked if they would mind giving it a little dip to clean it out once broken. No rolled eyes, no hesitation, just absolutely YES. They cleaned it out, split it open and returned it to our table in a fresh boat. WOW! The lobsters were cooked to perfection. So tender, so juicy, so very fresh. The corn was crisp and amazing. Cole slaw is not usually my jam but their version was delicious! We cleaned our plates. The crab roll had tons of crab - super sweet and amazing. Clam chowder was the perfect balance of creamy broth, clams (so tender), and potatoes. We were already planning our next trip before we left the first time.

The view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning, from the butterfly's to the ducks and everything in between! Now after about 20 minutes the food arrives! And just when you thought you were done we had a big slice of blueberry pie that was the best i've ever had! Overall this place was incredible and I would recommend to anyone in the area!

We heard owners had changed but the menu touted well-loved "favorites." We arrived for a birthday dinner, just the two of us. Oysters are always a favorite, so we ordered a half dozen for $21. They were not labeled as being from a particular oyster bed and knowing where they are from is an important part of our experience. We shrugged that part of the experience off - and only cocktail sauce, no mignonette- and dug in. Although the oysters were served with a plate of ice underneath, no ice touched the oyster shells. And I so wished they were ice cold. These were lukewarm, air temp (no heat wave yet, thank goodness!) and they could not have been less appetizing due to the temp. For dinner I tried the surf and turf and my companion ordered a casserole style lobster, 5 oz of picked lobster served with a cracker crumb crust. The New York strip steak was cooked, as requested, medium rare. A stripe of gristle went the length of the entire cut, and the steak was unseasoned, tough, and nearly inedible. With my steak was a butterflied lobster tail with a full dark vein on top of half. There is no way anyone near that dish, from plate to service, missed seeing it. So I deveined my own lobster tail and enjoyed an otherwise perfectly cooked lobster tail. My dining partner's lobster dish, with the cracker crumb topping, looked dry as a bone and so heavily doused with paprika or other spice as to be inedible. She waded through half and found little lobster and we sifted through the remaining crumb for what should have been at least 3 oz more of lobster meet. Nope. Our server was another matter. He wasn't rude, but he never made eye contact and when we refused take out containers for what was clearly about half our meal, he avoided the obvious issues. Cashing out tableside with his handheld device should have felt easy and convenient but the automated tip options added an eye roll and some disgust to our already bad experience. Dining outdoors riverside? Lovely. The food, not so much. There are many outdoor venues and I encourage you to pass by this Ellsworth option.
