    1.5 lbs lobster

We went to Rose Eden Lobster for lunch today. We are not from here so we searched Yelp and Rose Eden Lobster sounded great. We were bit surprised that no customers at 2 pm and it's all outdoor dining. We ordered through a window, paid then sat on the table. It took about 25 min and it was great. We ordered 2 lobster dinner package x 2, 1 lobster dinner package x 1. Got 3 lbs of clams were included in the dinner packages. Lobsters were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Clams looked questionable at the beginning but they were so tasty. Corns tasted like, they were picked right out of garden. Sweet and delicious. We did looked at the photos from Yelp reviews and honestly I was bit worried whether I made the right choice. After the meal, everyone was so happy and full! Price was very reasonable too. Highly recommended.

The owner/host/server was a gentleman and great cook. My family enjoyed their meal. Great place to eat a lobster.

I enjoyed this place very much and would definitely come back. I know this place does not have a view but I loved my lobster roll. I also enjoyed speaking to the person running the place Jonah. He was very friendly and did great at his job. The lobster roll was delicious had a lot of meat and a good amount of flavor. To me this was one of my favorite meals in Maine.

Very clear and honest pricing for lobster dinner. Two person dinner came with two lobsters, two corn, and 1/2 lb (ish) of clams. Good fresh lobster. Enjoyed the outdoor "lobster boil" feel. The unsung hero of this place? Blueberry Pie y'all. Blue-berry-pie. Boom. It's $14 for pie with ice cream, and worth it.

7500 miles around the US on our month long road trip and I DREAM about the lobsters eaten here. Left Acadia National park in the early evening and wanted some fresh lobster for our last night in Maine. Literally saw this place on the side of the road and my fiancé remembered seeing it on yelp a couple days ago. Made the fastest U-turn ever, and ended up in this cute parking lot ("for lobster lovers only!") ready to eat! The ladies that we met at the front while ordering and when sitting down waiting, were SO friendly. We were told by one of them that her husband had just gotten these lobsters that morning! We got a special with two 1 and a half lb lobsters, a pound of mussels, and two ears of corn for $58! Added on a blueberry soda and Leon blueberry whoopie pie and I was in HEAVEN. The freshness of literally everything was amazing, not even needing butter to taste delicious & the whoopie pie was just the right amount of sweet without being overly sugary! There were a couple of tables, in which we shared one with some new friends!, lots of paper towels at the ready on your table, a clean portapotty bathroom, and sink with soap for after you eat! The most spontaneous stop left us craving these lobsters back home in Vegas! Can't wait to go back to Maine for some more of this! Thank you ladies!

I love the ambience of this lobster joint. Mostly just lobster with mussels tossed into your basket along with fresh corn and butter, and the service is outstanding. The lobster was so sweet and the people running things want nothing but your happiness, which is clear.

1.25 lb steamed lobster, 2 lbs mussels

Came here at the tail end of the season, after I checked into my accommodations down the road. I came here for dinner and managed my expectations. It's the end-of-the-season, so I had a feeling they'd be out of some things. No blueberry pie, no clams, and no corn got me slightly disappointed. However, we ordered two 1.25 pound lobster dinners with 2+ lbs of mussels. I'm a New Englander and I've had my share of lobster. The lobster I had here must have been one of the best I've had. It was succulent, slightly sweet, but briny at the same time. The lobster was steamed nicely and wasn't overcooked. Plus I didn't open it to have a gallon of water pouring out, so it felt like a worthwhile lobster. The mussels were fantastic as well, with lots of savory, plump mussels to accompany the lobster. I would've loved to have tried the steamed clams but I can live with mussels. So yeah, no carbs, but I'm trying less of that these days? Except I snuck in a croissant from Standard Baking in Portland during that dinner. I tried to come again early evening another day but they had already ran out of food. Do come early.

Smaller lobster shop off the road. Limited parking spots too so had to park along the grass. By the time we arrived, which was about 6pm they ran out of some food. They didn't have any 1 3/4 and 1 1/2 lbs lobsters, pie, or mussels left. The dinner specials included two lobsters, corn, and mussels or clams ($5 additional). I had to wait about 30 minutes until I reached the front of the line. When I placed my order, the lady went into the fish tank and grabbed the lobsters. She weighed them and quoted me $55 cash for the dinner special. Since they ran out of the mussels she did not up charge the clams. We grabbed a table and were served freshly cooked lobster. There's a vending machine with soda for $1.75, but otherwise it's BYOB. The lobsters were soft shelled and was much easier to crack into. The husbands of the shop are fisherman so the lobsters were super fresh. The two ladies that run the shop were so nice too. Tip: come early or call ahead to place an order for pick up. BYOB.

1 3/4 pounder with mussels and corn

1 3/4 pounders .... It's so amazing, you won't regret stopping! Ditch the butter and just taste the lobster, it's incredible! The mussels are delicious as well and the corn tastes like it just got picked today, so sweet and a perfect compliment to the seafood! Highly recommend 10/10!

Given all the wonderful reviews, I had to take my lobster loving wife to Rose Eden for the quintessential lobster shack experience. She grew up in New England, with wonderful memories as a child, so it was a no brained. I'm not as enamored with lobster, but we couldn't turn down the $55 lobster dinner bucket. You order at the window, grab a beer or soda (sorry no wine) and head over to a picnic table to wait. In a few minutes, they bring over a bucket with two delicious lobsters, two ears of corn and a pile of steamed mussels (or clams go a few bucks more). Simply incredible, and such a great deal. So glad we stopped.

Aw, snap! I'm not trying to butter you up but this lobster is the Maine attraction! The owners are not shellfish with servings and the #2 was sea-sational! The corn will a-MAIZE you and the mussels be flexin'. Everything here was clawsome!

There is a reason Rose Eden is number one on Yelp. Just go, it's worth it. If you want the Bar Harbor Lobster experience Rose Eden is the place to go. You will get the classic steamed lobster, corn, and some mussels. The only thing missing was the lobster bib!

What an amazing experience and price. It was $50 for 2, everything included, you really can't beat this price in town. Jacob was very helpful. Thanks for the great dinner.

But if you want honest food at today's prices, pull up a chair. The lobster roll was a revelation. Not that mayonnaise-based lobster purée somebody scraped out of a tub and smeared onto a bun that had been sitting around since the Carter administration. This was real chunks of lobster, lightly seasoned, piled onto a fresh roll and left alone to taste like lobster. Then came the steamers. Sweet mercy. Those steamers were the best thing I have tasted since 1974, and I'm not entirely sure what happened in 1974, but apparently somebody knew how to steam a clam. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive and without the usual modern-day restaurant ritual of wondering whether your server has forgotten you exist. The décor? Let's just say aging fish camp chic. If you're looking for polished brass and a chandelier imported from France, keep driving. If you want the feeling that somebody might walk in carrying a cooler full of flounder, you're home. For the love of all that is holy, give this place a try. Come hungry. Leave happy. And if you encounter a cloth napkin, somebody has probably made a terrible mistake

The employees were fun and they made the experience nicer. The next day it was time for lunch and my husband said lets go back to the Traveling Lobster, I said (and later regretted) no let's try somewhere else. We tried a place with a catchy lobster name and the teenage boy, behind the counter of the takeout as he handed us our change said, you're leaving me a tip - right? In unison we both said no. I added we don't tip workers at McDonalds, we're not tipping you and even if we did, we wouldn't tip you because of your demand, he walked away nonplussed, to add insult to injury the food was mediocre for the price. Later that afternoon we tried another lobster stand, and it was worse; the food was terrible for the price, we ordered a side of lobster mac and cheese and there was not a shred of lobster in it, we ended up taking it back and getting our money. Starving, we went back to the Traveling Lobster and had another great meal, listened to trivia and left satisfied. What we learned is if a stand isn't busy or has few cars, don't bother, there's a reason. By all means go the Travelin Lobster, the parking lot is busy, the line moves fast and the food comes out fast and excellent, the employees don't attempt to shame you into tipping them and when you order lobster mac and cheese, you get plenty of lobster. I also learned that my sweet husband is sometimes right :).

Waiting nearly three hours from arrival to being served is simply unacceptable. From what I could see, there were only about eight staff members working, including the host, bartender, dishwasher, and servers. It was obvious they were overwhelmed and the restaurant was severely understaffed for the number of customers coming in. While I don't blame the employees they were doing the best they could the business clearly wasn't prepared to handle the crowd. It's disappointing because the property has a lot of potential, but poor management, extremely slow service, and inadequate staffing completely overshadowed the experience. Until they can properly staff the restaurant and provide realistic wait times, I can't recommend dining here. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

OK- good vibe on property and location, I don' at all mind a walk-up window to order....saves money, time and you know exactly how many orders are in front of you. All good, but how is the food ? Family of 4 - We ordered a bit of everything for sharing....Lobster dinner to start...super fresh, large 2 + pounder bathed in hot butter.....add a side of lobster nachos....OMG, good call. Not a fan of corn on the cob, but the kids loved it. I am happy. Next .I ordered a straight up lobster roll - hot, butter only, No skimp on the lobster (see picture) with a added side of coleslaw which was a pleasant surprise....made fresh daily with owners secret recipe (he would not share BTW). ), I added garlic aioli sauce to everything because this place understands all food is enhanced with either hot butter or home-made aioli sauce....(never mayo) My kids binge ate french fri's which have a light coating, crispy and hot while they each ate lobster tacos...What the heck ? A Taco in Maine ? Delicious....all the way. Again no skimping on the lobster meat. Then came the real test.....a virtual dark horse (no they do not serve "horse") .The Ice Cream Boat (which also has a stern full of fresh blueberry pie). All locally made, fresh and large portions.
