We were bit surprised that no customers at 2 pm and it's all outdoor dining. We ordered through a window, paid then sat on the table. It took about 25 min and it was great. We ordered 2 lobster dinner package x 2, 1 lobster dinner package x 1. Got 3 lbs of clams were included in the dinner packages. Lobsters were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Clams looked questionable at the beginning but they were so tasty. Corns tasted like, they were picked right out of garden. Sweet and delicious. We did looked at the photos from Yelp reviews and honestly I was bit worried whether I made the right choice. After the meal, everyone was so happy and full! Price was very reasonable too. Best place to get seafood around Bar Harbor. We went here after getting sticker shock from some of the other restaurants that "specialized" in seafood. It is basically a shack with a walk up window that serves up the the freshest seafood you can find at a great price. We ordered the family meal that came with 4 whole lobsters, a pound of clams, and a pound of mussels. With drinks and all our total came out to just over $100 which I found to be a terrific deal. Our kids loved trying new food, the staff was very polite, answered all of our questions, and engaged well with customers. 7500 miles around the US on our month long road trip and I DREAM about the lobsters eaten here. Left Acadia National park in the early evening and wanted some fresh lobster for our last night in Maine. Literally saw this place on the side of the road and my fiancé remembered seeing it on yelp a couple days ago. Made the fastest U-turn ever, and ended up in this cute parking lot ("for lobster lovers only!") ready to eat! The ladies that we met at the front while ordering and when sitting down waiting, were SO friendly. We were told by one of them that her husband had just gotten these lobsters that morning! We got a special with two 1 and a half lb lobsters, a pound of mussels, and two ears of corn for $58! Added on a blueberry soda and Leon blueberry whoopie pie and I was in HEAVEN. The freshness of literally everything was amazing, not even needing butter to taste delicious & the whoopie pie was just the right amount of sweet without being overly sugary! There were a couple of tables, in which we shared one with some new friends!, lots of paper towels at the ready on your table, a clean portapotty bathroom, and sink with soap for after you eat! Came here at the tail end of the season, after I checked into my accommodations down the road. I came here for dinner and managed my expectations. It's the end-of-the-season, so I had a feeling they'd be out of some things. No blueberry pie, no clams, and no corn got me slightly disappointed. However, we ordered two 1.25 pound lobster dinners with 2+ lbs of mussels. I'm a New Englander and I've had my share of lobster. The lobster I had here must have been one of the best I've had. It was succulent, slightly sweet, but briny at the same time. The lobster was steamed nicely and wasn't overcooked. Plus I didn't open it to have a gallon of water pouring out, so it felt like a worthwhile lobster. The mussels were fantastic as well, with lots of savory, plump mussels to accompany the lobster. I would've loved to have tried the steamed clams but I can live with mussels. So yeah, no carbs, but I'm trying less of that these days? Except I snuck in a croissant from Standard Baking in Portland during that dinner. I tried to come again early evening another day but they had already ran out of food. Do come early. read more

What a great spot! Right off the highway, but tucked away with cute tables behind the motel/cottages, which share the same name. The chef was so kind in helping us choose our entrees. Everything was delicious! We enjoyed sitting at a picnic table under a big tree on the front lawn, enjoying our lobster. (served with fresh corn, steamed mussels, and drawn butter). The chef came over several times to check on us to make sure we knew how to eat our lobster and that we were happy. He even gave us a complimentary slice of blueberry pie (a la mode) that he said he hadn't heated up quite right in the microwave and otherwise would have had to discard. You order at the window, grab a beer or soda (sorry no wine) and head over to a picnic table to wait. Smaller lobster shop off the road. Limited parking spots too so had to park along the grass. By the time we arrived, which was about 6pm they ran out of some food. They didn't have any 1 3/4 and 1 1/2 lbs lobsters, pie, or mussels left. The dinner specials included two lobsters, corn, and mussels or clams ($5 additional). I had to wait about 30 minutes until I reached the front of the line. When I placed my order, the lady went into the fish tank and grabbed the lobsters. She weighed them and quoted me $55 cash for the dinner special. Since they ran out of the mussels she did not up charge the clams. We grabbed a table and were served freshly cooked lobster. There's a vending machine with soda for $1.75, but otherwise it's BYOB. The lobsters were soft shelled and was much easier to crack into. The husbands of the shop are fisherman so the lobsters were super fresh. The two ladies that run the shop were so nice too. Tip: come early or call ahead to place an order for pick up. This was my first time going to a "lobster pound" and it was everything I could have hoped for! We arrived at 5:30 on a Monday and ordered a #2 lobster dinner (1.5 pound lobsters). Unfortunately they were out of mussels, but since we wanted blueberry pie the cashier gave us pie instead of mussels. Worked out for us! I'm experienced with Maryland blue crabs but this was my first time opening a lobster on my own, and it was fairly intuitive (if you're new crustaceans maybe it's not? Google it!). Anyway, the corn was fantastic and the lobster meat was so tender and sweet. I used the butter but didn't need to. Truly the best whole lobster I've ever had. Also, the blueberry pie was divine. It was nothing like the squishy and watery blueberry pies I've had at home. This was incredible. It's a very small operation and there's only 6-8 tables, so you may want to arrive at an off time to guarantee getting a table. When we left just after 6 there was a very long line. I would definitely come back here again and hopefully can try the mussels next time. Two lobsters plus sides for $40 is a great deal where I'm from. read more

If you want an authentic lobster pound experience, this place is it! It's not fancy or pretentious, no white table cloths or silver forks and knives. You sit in their backyard at one of their wooden tables and benches - they have umbrellas for rain or shine. The local family that runs Rose Eden couldn't be nicer or more accommodating to our requests. We came here a few times during our stay at Bar Harbor. We ordered the lobster special, which comes with 2 lobsters soft or hard shell, half a pound of mussels and 2 fresh corns on a cob. We tried the hard shell and it came up to $40 for 2, which is a steal for fresh Maine lobster dinner for 2 people. The mussels were succulent and the corn couldn't have been sweeter or fresher. We also ordered soft shell lobsters on our next visit as a dinner option and 2 pounds of mussels and corns during our last visit here. The ambiance is very laid back and relaxing. Great Food! Typical lobster prices for Maine in the summertime. Very similiat to earring at Wodman's in the Rough in Essex, Mass, without the paper rolled out on the picnic tables. I highly recommend getting the steamers and corn with the lobster. The owner Josh is a native son who returned home after working down at the Bath Ironworks to take over the family business. The food was PERFECTLY cooked by the you d men running the kitchen and the food came out in a timely manner, brought to the table by a smiling waitress. So we took Arjun's review seriously and made our way to Rose Eden Lobster. His review is spot on for what they serve/what they do not serve. We actually had a hard time finding a lobster pound that was open during the 3rd week of October, so we were very thankful that Rose Eden Lobster was still open, though rumor was that it was closing for the season this past Sunday, so call ahead before coming. It is definitely a no frills place with 2 picnic tables, but the value is great, the service is fantastic, and the lobster and corn were AMAZING! They have dinner specials for soft and hard shell lobsters that come with mussels and corn, but you can order things separately if you'd like. We just tried the soft shell lobsters and corn and felt that both the lobster and the corn (which normally is an afterthought) were some of the best we had the entire trip. The lady in charge that night gave us big warm blankets to use and told us not to worry about getting lobster guts on them since they have industrial washer/dryers (probably for their cottage business). Even though it was dark and we were eating by LED lights on the umbrellas under big blankets, it was a memorable experience that we'll cherish. We ate at this restaurant as we saw it has all starts, but it was disappointing as they just cooked raw food for you, no much service, there were only three tables of people eating in but they didn't remember our order, forgot to bring beers and corns to us, tips was asked to pre-pay, we paid 20% but had to reminding them what food we were waiting. Outstanding! I had two experiences on two different days. Both were amazing. First day - 1.5 lb hard shell lobster with a pound of clams to go. Busy when I was there, left with my (heat-lined) bag in 25 min. My hotel was about 17 minutes away, and the food was still warm enough to enjoy. They said that I needed crackers for the hard shell, but I didn't. Fingers were enough. Lobster was delicious, clams were very good. Second day -- 1.75 lb soft shell with a pound of mussels. Are it there. Not busy (I went at 3:45p), cool rainy day. Was eating on outside bench about 15 minutes after ordering. Both were absolutely DELICIOUS! They take care of the trash, and have a sink outside to freshen up your hands. Small family-owned roadside place. Fresh-caught lobsters on display when you order. The perfect lobster/shellfish experience, I think. It's BYOB, so bring some wine/beer if you're gonna eat there. Price is right, and they think of everything. Friendly, efficient people. We took a trip to Acadia National Park and I knew we were going to want to have a night away from cooking at the campsite. I used Yelp to find the best place to eat lobster in Bar Harbor. Yelp did not let me down, Rose Eden is a hidden treasure. It is off the beaten path literally on the side of the road, far removed from the touristy part of Bar Harbor. It offers outdoor picnic tables to eat dinner there. Rose Eden offers many dinner options such as lobster, mussels, clams, and crab. All caught by local fisherman. They are cooked on site within two days of coming of the local fishing boats. We went with Dinner Special #2 which included 2 lobster, each 1 1/2 lbs, 1lb of mussels, and 2 ears of corn. We were lucky to get a seat at one of the picnic tables. Rose Eden does not serve any drinks including alcoholic beverages. I had read this in a previous Yelp review so we knew that it is bring your own. We took a delicious bottle of wine and two glasses. Dillon cooked up our amazing dinner and served it to our table in a big blue bin. Everything was so amazing that two nights later we went back for dinner again. Sunshine cooked that night equally amazing. Yvonne the owner was so kind checking on us to make sure everything was prepared to our liking. She seems to really care that we were pleased. The first night Dillon treated us to two pieces of homemade blueberry pie which was a perfect end to our incredible dinner. So of course the second night we enjoyed dinner we also had to have pie again.
