I ordered a deluxe pizza through Grubhub and they accidentally sent me a cheese. The driver right away got on the phone and asked them to make my correct pizza without even asking him to. I got my correct pizza right away. I wanna say thanks for the excellent customer service. This is the correct way to make things right. I'm going to concur with Grizzly M. This is the best pizza place around. Its been here for ages and they do a whopping business. A true icon in the comnunity and for good reason. Its great! Walk in, carry out or delivery. It's so cheese, hot and gooey. All the ingredients are super fresh, super delicious, piping hot. Service is generally pretty good, these people really hustle. Passed this place 1000's (literally) of times and never imagined it was this good. Yelp reviews prodded me to give it a shot. Ordered online and the notes area didn't show up on the order ticket so it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I went in to just let them know there was a possible glitch with the website and Eric didn't freakin hesitate to insist to make me a new one right away. (Couldn't let him do it considering the jury is still out whether or not it was my screwup!) Eric and the sweet lady workin there today were the coolest people ever. Even though it wasn't what I ordered, it RULED! The cheesesticks were a super huge order and they are some of the best ever! Very affordable, ridiculous specials! Probably the worst place to get pizza in Royal Oak/Clawson. The sauce is the absolute worst, and the bread has no flavor.

I love my little hometown pizzeria. I got a small Italian sausage, ham, and onion pizza. Also, a 6 piece wing. The wings surprised me. I was glad they were not the usual oven baked, non breaded slimy wings. They were coated in a semi crunchy breading, slightly soggy from the steam from the delivery, but still great! I got the buffalo sauce on the side. My pizza was perfectly cooked and delicious. I was not dissapointed and fully fulfilled. It checked all my boxes and will order again. read more

My husband and I just moved to Clawson. We're all about local places and I LOVE to try new pizza places. A free pizza coupon came in our "welcome to Clawson" bag from the Chamber of Commerce, so we tried it. Very disappointing. At first I thought it was alright, but as I kept eating I realized a few things: 1) This ISN'T cheese I'm eating. It's some waxy, white substance made to loosely resemble cheese. Reminded me of elementary school pizza to a tee. 2) It was barely cooked - there was almost no browning on the "cheese" at all. 3) By the time I'd realized all this, I felt icky. Also, cash only. I've lived around the block from Perry's my whole life. I never started eating it until I was a teenager, but it is phenomenal pizza! It is definitely unique and not like the chain pizza places. One thing that I really appreciate aside from the pizza is how involved in the community Perry is. When reviewing a pizza place I stick to the pizza. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about, but I think Perry's is the best pizza in Clawson. I'm not a huge fan of their breadsticks/chease bread, and I wish they took credit cards. That aside, their pizza really is very good. Much better than the nearby chains (pizza hut, JETS, hungry howies, etc.) Good ingerdients, toppings, and generous with the cheese. I also have never had an over or under cooked pizza from here and I have been there 20+ times. read more

I have lived walking distance from Perry's for over four years and have never ordered. In my mind the price point with the coupons was always still a stretch. The good: Nice set up. You can watch them spin dough and make the pizza. They have old school ovens. The toppings were plentiful and it was evident they used fresh veggies and lots of cheese. The bad: The pizza was under cooked IMO. If you have a traditional style pizza oven, use it to your advantage. Don't take the Pizza out early. It was doughy. To me Pizza crust should hold firm, so that when I grab a piece and lift....all the toppings do not fall off. The sauce was just sauce, I wanted more flavor. I put the Pizza in the oven after the first two slices and finished cooking it. It went to a 3 star. Average. I saw them making the subs and they did look really good. If they use the same fresh ingredients on those, I am betting they would be a pretty good sandwich. Cash/Check only. read more

I have a rule: "Cash only" loses you a star. Accepting cards is a necessary evil to do business in today's world. It's a real inconvenience to find out after the fact, and have to scramble to an ATM or get someone else to cover you. I avoid cash-only places on principal. So Perry's loses a star, and it was a star they couldn't afford to lose. My wife and I just moved to Clawson, and got a coupon for a free pizza in our welcome packet from the chamber of commerce. We decided to try Perry's and, since I felt compelled to make it worth their while, I ordered a second pie. Bad idea. I get to Perry's to pick up my order, which was placed 30 minutes earlier. I was surprised to find out that it would be another 15 minutes, making it 20 minutes later than the promised time on a day when they weren't busy. It is at this point that I am told that they do not take cards. Therefore, I am now forced to drive down the street and find an ATM. So essentially my free pizza cost me $4.50 in various ATM/bank fees. Other reviewers mention that the place looks shabby. Outside of cleanliness, appearance is not important to me when I'm getting carry-out, so I was good with the postage stamp-sized waiting area. The pizza was mediocre at best. The sauce was undistinguished. The cheese can't possibly be real. There's no friggin' way. It was like a thick layer of silly putty, but with less flavor. Let me put it this way; I'm a fat guy who loves his pizza, and It takes a hell of a lot to keep me from eating the leftovers. The rest of Perry's went straight to the garbage. Let me start off by saying this was the second pizza place we tried here in Michigan since moving from New York and the service was lacking... I'll get to that in a minute but I'm sure you want to hear about the food. We ordered two large Pepperoni pizza's, Perry's Sticks w/ Mozzarella, and Perry's Large Wings (Hot). The Pizza was VERY tasty but their large is smaller than what we're used to in NY. It had a nice hand-tossed taste. Not a New York style pizza in taste or construction but they didn't claim to be. Definitely the better than the other pizza place we tried (Renee's). The sticks were also good and heated well the next day. I can't find any pizza places around here that have traditional Mozzarella sticks. My wife loves them and it seems it will no longer be a part of our pizza orders. The wings were alright. They were not tossed in the hot sauce and I learned my lesson from Renee's to ask for additional hot sauce. I'm not sure why Michigan doesn't toss the wings in the sauce but not a deal breaker. If a pizza place is not going toss the wings in a sauce I would expect them to have some flavor, this was not the case with these. Without the sauce they were bland. Overall this place provides great pizza. Now about my initial comment; I live 3.5 miles away from this establishment and after I had placed my order and paid over the phone I was told it would take about 40 min, not an issue. They Lady over the phone was very nice and thanked me for my order. Then I was called about 5min later by, what I assume was Perry himself who said he did not deliver that far.... 3.5 miles is too far? So, he told me he could cancel the order for me or I could come pick it up. I knew it wasn't far so I said I would pick it up, again not an issue if it wasn't advertised as a delivery place. When I arrived the establishment was small and seemed to provide delivery as its main source of income as there weren't many places to sit. When I arrived I was greeted with smiles and assured that if it weren't a Thursday night the delivery wouldn't have been out of his way. I still left a tip even after they removed the delivery fee and was provided with a menu and fridge magnet for my troubles! If it weren't for the quality of the food I would have given this pizza place three stars. So, if you live down the street this place is for you! if not, then depending on how the owner is feeling that day you might get your food delivered. read more

But most importantly, the ranch was clearly from a ranch bottle and not homemade and I only got a tiny little container for my large order of bread, pizza and wings. I've been coming here for years. I usually only order the round with one or two toppings. Not long ago I tried square with several toppings. It was very good. The perry stix are also good, order them with the mozzarella. I love the sauce so much I get a second sauce. Not too spicy, a bit sweet. I add some crushed red pepper to give it some kick. They must not have a frier because the wings were breaded and baked. I honestly could drive to Walmart, pick up a bag of wings, and bake them at home with better result. Miscommunication on their part led to late delivery, led to rude driver, led to a manager that was too busy to listen to an unhappy new customer. Free food being offered for a goof up, doesnt always satisfy. Showing a genuine concern for an upset customer can do wonders. Also, the driver and manager both reminded me that I was nobody special and that there were other people waiting too. I havent had "take out" since March. This was my first experience ordering food that wasnt cooked in my home since the pandemic started. I was excited! Now just disappointed. Wonderful pizza. The crust has a nice thickness, with a great outer crispyness, nice and fluffy on the inside with the right amount of chewyness. The cheese comes on a very generous amount, and has a great strech to it. Toppings are always fresh. Best ham I've had on a pie before. I'd give it 5 stars except the salads leave a little to be desired. They could stand to get ingredients specifically for salads as opposed to just pizza toppings. Just moved to north Royal Oak recently and tried Perry's Pizza for the first time last night. This place is AWESOME! The pizza and breadsticks were DELICIOUS... excellent sauce and crust. I also love that it's family-owned, so you know the management cares about their customers. My husband noticed that the owner knew each customer by name as they walked in to get their pizza. I ate at Perry's Pizza a couple weeks ago for the first time and have been craving the cheese sticks ever since. I picked up a carry out order tonight and drove all the way to West Bloomfield. On my way home, i could absolutely not control myself to dip into those cheese sticks. I must say i did eat a couple bites in the car ride home. This order was just as delicious as my first time. Perfect amount of melted cheese and parmesan on top of hot thick fresh bread. Perry asked me if i wanted to add pepperoni or additional items but i it was perfect just the way it was.
