A sophisticated, much-needed addition to the Brentwood dining scene! I visited Perse this past weekend with my husband and two daughters, and we were so impressed with the level of intention and artistry here. We've been waiting for a truly elevated Persian restaurant on the Westside, and Perse delivers exactly that. We arrived for a 5:30 PM reservation on 3/21/26 and the space was tranquil and immaculate. We opted to sit outside, which was beautiful, though it does get quite lively and noisy by the time we left around 6:45 PM--definitely the "place to be" in Brentwood Gardens right now! The Standouts: Smoked Saffron Tahdig: This is the best I've had in LA. The theatrical "smoke reveal" under the glass cloche was a huge hit with my girls (Madeline and Charlotte!), and the crispy texture was flawless. Saffron Lamb Chops: These were remarkably tender and perfectly seasoned with a saffron crema that I'm still thinking about. Dessert Platter: If you have a sweet tooth, don't skip this. The Saffron Delight and the Bibi Chocolate Cake were the perfect end to the night. I also have to mention the service--the staff was incredibly warm and professional. As a nurse, I'm always paying attention to cleanliness and detail, and this place was spotless. While the Smoked Eggplant and Whey was a bit too bold/strong for my personal taste, I really appreciate the chef's commitment to authentic, punchy flavors. Everything else we had--from the Hummus to the Filet Mignon Kabob--was 10/10. I was so excited to try this new local spot, and I will say I am Persian so my standards might be a bit higher. The ambiance was lovely, but everything else left a lot more to be desired. The servers spilled a vase on our table twice and didn't even bring a new napkin, when I used mine to help. They also knew nothing about the wine which is odd. I understand GenZ doesn't drink but they should be informed. The portions are VERY small for the price perhaps because the fine dining concept, but the dishes didn't warrant that all. We literally spent $200 and went out for a second dinner an hour later. The shirazi salad was half onions and a must pass. The Tachin is made like Italian Arancini ball, which is interesting. But one small rice ball for $20? Not much of a rice dish. The eggplant had great flavor and was my favorite. The chicken skewers were very dry. I had the opportunity to work with Perse Restaurant before their opening, helping them with photography and videography. As you can imagine, after the shoot we got to try the food, and even then (some of it slightly cold), it was honestly really impressive. After they opened, I recommended the place to some friends and family. A few had mixed opinions, so I decided to come back myself after a couple of months to experience it as a regular guest. I'm really glad I did, everything was noticeably better. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The quality, taste, and presentation were all on point. The drinks were also amazing. What stood out the most was the service, the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The ambiance and design of the space also add a really nice touch to the overall experience. Having tried Toranj, I was excited to visit Perse with some of my friends. The ambiance is lovely, and staff were kind. I would say that the food was delicious and beautifully presented but overpriced. We ordered the fresh barbari ($8), sabzi spread ($18), smoked eggplant and whey ($20), green goddess salad ($20), koobideh ($33), fesenjoon ($48), gormeh sabzi ($48), smoked saffron tahdig ($18), and saffron rice cake ($22). For drinks, I tried the saffron and rosewater sharbat ($12), sparkling willow and blossom ($10), and barberry elixire ($12). I would not order the sabzi spread (expensive, underwhelming), gormeh sabzi (my friend felt it was prepared differently compared to what she was used to, would trade for another dish), green goddess salad (good but nothing special), or barberry elixire (unique but too tart without much other complexity for my palette) again. To be honest, I think the star of the show here was the mocktail menu! I hope that they'll consider increasing the portion sizes or reducing the prices for some dishes, as I would walk here more often if it didn't feel like such a stretch on the wallet! read more

I arrived very hungry so I ordered more appetizers than I usually do and this was the best choice I made that night. The hummus and Persian fries were unique, exceptional, and massive serving sizes. Relatively to these, the entrees were kind of disappointing. The koobideh kebab came with only 1 skewer despite every other Persian restaurant around serving 2 for that price or less. The cherry rice and kebab were also light on flavor. I would go back to explore more of the menu, and definitely keep getting the appetizers. read more

From the moment you walk in, the ambience is immediately impressive: modern, chic, lively, and upscale in a way that's honestly rare for Persian restaurants. It feels like a spot you'd take someone to celebrate -- date night, anniversary, birthday... or just because you want to eat really well and feel fancy while doing it. One of my favorite touches: the owner personally greets guests, makes you feel genuinely welcomed, and even introduces the chef. That kind of hospitality is special -- and it sets the tone that Perse is not just another restaurant, it's an experience. Cocktails: Persian-Inspired and Perfectly Done We started with drinks and Perse's cocktail menu deserves real credit -- creative, balanced, and actually strong (in the best way). Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and served with a yogurt dip that I could honestly eat with a spoon. * Brussels sprouts -- crispy, flavorful, and topped with pomegranate, which somehow made them feel both elegant and irresistible. And the sauces overall... wow. So tasty that we were basically using them on everything like it was our job. The Food: Persian Cuisine with a Touch of French "Oh Là Là" And then the food came... and wow. This is Persian food done with a level of care and elegance that feels almost Michelin-inspired. Honestly, Cyrus the Great and Michelin would both be proud. It's classic Persian flavor, but elevated -- like Persian cuisine got dressed up for a night out in Brentwood. We ordered: * Fesenjoon -- rich, perfectly balanced, and deeply flavorful * Lamb chops -- tender, juicy, and cooked beautifully * Tahchin with chicken -- golden, crispy, and absolutely addictive * Smoky basmati rice -- fragrant and unforgettable Everything had this subtle, elegant touch of pomegranate throughout that made it feel special without being overwhelming. Dessert: Tehranmisu (Yes, You Need It) We were completely full -- but we had to try dessert, and thank goodness we did. Tehranmisu was to die for. A Persian twist on tiramisu that was creamy, rich, perfectly sweet, and honestly one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Final Thoughts Perse is a rare combination: amazing Persian food, elevated presentation, great cocktails, chic atmosphere, and real hospitality. They have such amazing choices of Persian inspired fine dine cuisine, great selection of starters and main dishes. My ultimate favorite dish was the lamb chops medium rare, very delicious! This isn't your ordinary kebab house. For that type of Persian food you have plenty of other options close by. I would absolutely go back for the food and hope that they sort out service delays asap. Having only been to Iran 4-5 times in my youth. There was a lot to hope for in Perse, and I found exactly that. The fusion is on such a level of attention to detail that when I took a bite of the Brussel sprouts even that reminded me of Persian food, and it was delicious! The interior design is a beautiful modern and classic blend of architecture, with Persian sculptures on the walls. The waiters were kind, although they were new since this place has only been open a few months, they were amazing. The food is expensive but certainly worth the price, and the amount of mocktails (beautifully decorated) that are served makes it a great place to bring your children as well. The food was very good (though the koobideh needed more seasoning), and the lunch special was great, BUT we had an 11am reservation, so they knew we were coming, and there was still no server on site when we arrived, so we had to wait. We were also given a drink menu but then were told there was no bartender so we could get any of the sharbats, etc. The server was lovely when she did arrive, and they did try to make up for their mistakes by giving us free food and a free drink which is definitely the right thing to do. I know they are very new, so I hope that they have worked out the kinks for future customers. read more

The dishes were bland, poorly executed, and tasted like they'd been rushed out of the kitchen with little care. Presentation was sloppy, portions didn't justify the prices, and nothing we ordered stood out in a positive way. The service only made things worse. Staff seemed inattentive and uninterested, and we waited far too long for food that simply wasn't worth it. For a restaurant that appears to aim for a quality dining experience, it completely missed the mark. There are plenty of better options in Brentwood. Ate at Perse last night. Where to start. The restaurant itself is a beautiful space. Very tastefully done. The food...we started with the barbari bread and butter. Best butter I have ever tasted. You must try the fries..different than your average fries. I am not a big fan of brussel sprouts, I had five of them, they were that good. Next was the lollipop lamb chops. The sauce that came with the chops was the highlight of the evening. Dipped everything in sight with that sauce.Then on to chicken kabobs and vegan fesenjoon. Terrific. We had the saffron ice cream for dessert. Everyone of those dishes hit the mark. The wait staff was very attentive without over doing it. Our waiter, Becca, made the evening extra special with excellent explantations of the various dishes. I highly recommend Perse. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Came here for Mother's Day brunch with my mom, sister, my nephew, and my brother. Made the reservation for 2 pm and the service was amazing. Everyone was really nice and there's nothing negative to say about service. The only real negative to this was just the meal. I was expecting to get a lunch menu but I was handed a brunch menu that they started literally TODAY, Mother's Day. I was fine with it until I saw how little there was on the menu. Nothing necessarily authentic besides some omelettes and noon paneer. I'm not mad, just kinda disappointed. I wouldn't expect a restaurant to start a new menu on a holiday so that was the big let down. But at the end of the day we managed around it and the food was good, it was just very limited.
