Having tried Toranj, I was excited to visit Perse with some of my friends. The ambiance is lovely, and staff were kind. I would say that the food was delicious and beautifully presented but overpriced. We ordered the fresh barbari ($8), sabzi spread ($18), smoked eggplant and whey ($20), green goddess salad ($20), koobideh ($33), fesenjoon ($48), gormeh sabzi ($48), smoked saffron tahdig ($18), and saffron rice cake ($22). For drinks, I tried the saffron and rosewater sharbat ($12), sparkling willow and blossom ($10), and barberry elixire ($12). I would not order the sabzi spread (expensive, underwhelming), gormeh sabzi (my friend felt it was prepared differently compared to what she was used to, would trade for another dish), green goddess salad (good but nothing special), or barberry elixire (unique but too tart without much other complexity for my palette) again. To be honest, I think the star of the show here was the mocktail menu! I hope that they'll consider increasing the portion sizes or reducing the prices for some dishes, as I would walk here more often if it didn't feel like such a stretch on the wallet!

I arrived very hungry so I ordered more appetizers than I usually do and this was the best choice I made that night. The hummus and Persian fries were unique, exceptional, and massive serving sizes. Relatively to these, the entrees were kind of disappointing. The koobideh kebab came with only 1 skewer despite every other Persian restaurant around serving 2 for that price or less. The cherry rice and kebab were also light on flavor. I would go back to explore more of the menu, and definitely keep getting the appetizers.

Kaley was our serve and maybe the BEST of all time. Perfect degree of answering questions and knowing how much to check in. Zia shared story of the restaurant and was remarkable. The food was top 25 of all time and we are foodies. The best salads in Los Angeles and I'd put this in the Bestia quality of food. Very impressed. Same prices as any nice restaurant and deservedly so.

A Persian Gem That's Chic, Lively, and Seriously Delicious We decided to try Perse for Valentine's Day, and I'm so glad we did -- this place is an absolute new Persian gem in Brentwood. From the moment you walk in, the ambience is immediately impressive: modern, chic, lively, and upscale in a way that's honestly rare for Persian restaurants. It feels like a spot you'd take someone to celebrate -- date night, anniversary, birthday... or just because you want to eat really well and feel fancy while doing it. One of my favorite touches: the owner personally greets guests, makes you feel genuinely welcomed, and even introduces the chef. That kind of hospitality is special -- and it sets the tone that Perse is not just another restaurant, it's an experience. Cocktails: Persian-Inspired and Perfectly Done We started with drinks and Perse's cocktail menu deserves real credit -- creative, balanced, and actually strong (in the best way). We tried: * Anar -- a Persian tequila cocktail with pomegranate and sumac * Persian Old Fashioned -- with a subtle touch of cardamom tea * Whiskey Sour -- with a touch of sour cherry (albaloo) syrup * Zan -- made with orange liqueur, lime, lychee, and hibiscus Every single drink was great, but the Anar was my favorite -- bold, delicious, and the kind of cocktail you keep thinking about the next day. Appetizers: Don't Skip These We started with a few appetizers and they were honestly all excellent. * Salad -- fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced * Samosa -- crispy, flavorful, and addictive * Persian French fries -- yes, Persian fries... and they were AMAZING. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and served with a yogurt dip that I could honestly eat with a spoon. * Brussels sprouts -- crispy, flavorful, and topped with pomegranate, which somehow made them feel both elegant and irresistible. And the sauces overall... wow. So tasty that we were basically using them on everything like it was our job. The Food: Persian Cuisine with a Touch of French "Oh Là Là" And then the food came... and wow. This is Persian food done with a level of care and elegance that feels almost Michelin-inspired. Honestly, Cyrus the Great and Michelin would both be proud. It's classic Persian flavor, but elevated -- like Persian cuisine got dressed up for a night out in Brentwood. We ordered: * Fesenjoon -- rich, perfectly balanced, and deeply flavorful * Lamb chops -- tender, juicy, and cooked beautifully * Tahchin with chicken -- golden, crispy, and absolutely addictive * Smoky basmati rice -- fragrant and unforgettable Everything had this subtle, elegant touch of pomegranate throughout that made it feel special without being overwhelming. Dessert: Tehranmisu (Yes, You Need It) We were completely full -- but we had to try dessert, and thank goodness we did. Tehranmisu was to die for. A Persian twist on tiramisu that was creamy, rich, perfectly sweet, and honestly one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Final Thoughts Perse is a rare combination: amazing Persian food, elevated presentation, great cocktails, chic atmosphere, and real hospitality. It made me proud as a Persian to see our cuisine represented this beautifully -- modern, exciting, and done at a high level. If you're looking for a new date-night spot in Brentwood (or just want an incredible meal), Perse is absolutely worth it. Pro tip: Get the Anar, order the tahchin, and do not leave without the Tehranmisu.

This is such an amazing place!! Great vibe! Great staff everyone, is so welcoming and kind! They have such amazing choices of Persian inspired fine dine cuisine, great selection of starters and main dishes. My ultimate favorite dish was the lamb chops medium rare, very delicious! I evidently had everything with a glass of beer. And to top it all off I had the chocolate bibi cake and it was super bomb! I love chocolate, it was so good! Definitely give this a 5 star rating! Totally recommend you to try it if you're contemplating it

I'd feel very comfortable recommending Perse to someone going for the first time. It has a polished look and feel, but it doesn't create the kind of pressure some upscale restaurants do. We ordered Boneless Chicken Kabob, Anar, and Fresh Barbari, and the meal gave a really strong first impression in both presentation and overall flow. The atmosphere helps the restaurant feel memorable right away. That makes it a very easy place to recommend. Whether someone is new to Persian food, new to the area, or just looking for a refined dinner spot in Brentwood, Perse offers an experience that feels approachable while still being elevated. It leaves a strong impression without trying too hard.

Finally, a Persian restaurant in L.A. that treats our cuisine with the elegance it deserves. Perse brings refined Persian flavors into a beautiful, modern space. Long overdue. And don't leave without trying the Tahchin. The cocktails created by owner FariNaz and the brilliant bartender Snowy, are their own little works of art, blending Persian inspiration with stunning presentation.

Great atmosphere. The food was delicious, very unique, authentic flavor. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

    Mocktail
    M A.

Having only been to Iran 4-5 times in my youth. There was a lot to hope for in Perse, and I found exactly that. The fusion is on such a level of attention to detail that when I took a bite of the Brussel sprouts even that reminded me of Persian food, and it was delicious! The interior design is a beautiful modern and classic blend of architecture, with Persian sculptures on the walls. The waiters were kind, although they were new since this place has only been open a few months, they were amazing. The food is expensive but certainly worth the price, and the amount of mocktails (beautifully decorated) that are served makes it a great place to bring your children as well. Overall: 4.8/5

I came here with my folks and it was pretty good. We really circled the menu and ordered a bunch but it just didn't hit like I hoped it would. The flavors weren't punchy and we all found the food bland. The service however was amazing and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I do Love their other restaurant, Toranj though. Took photos of the shirazi, lollipop lamb chops which are the best thing and the smoked eggplant.

Beautiful ambiance and presentation, but my koobideh was served undercooked/raw inside. Expected much better for the price.

Beautiful ambiance and presentation, but the food sadly did not match the prices or expectations. My koobideh was served very undercooked/raw inside, which completely ruined the experience. For a restaurant at this level, I expected much better quality control and food preparation.

Cream puffs, tiramisu, and saffron ice cream

Wow the food here was absolutely incredible. We came for Mother's Day breakfast & everything we ordered was so flavorful and delicious, and on top of that, the food came out so quickly. The service was amazing as well. Eva was so lovely and made the whole experience even better. We ordered a bunch of plates to share and completely cleared every single one. The flavors were delicate, fresh, and so well balanced. I especially loved the saffron pancake Overall, such a great experience, and I highly recommend coming here !!!!

It is better than their beef koobideh and barg, though those are still good. I have had better beef koobideh at other restaurants like Raffis or Shekarchi. Because large parties were gathered near the entrance, we were asked to move into the bar area while we waited. (The restaurant does not take reservations for groups smaller than five.) While waiting, I noticed several tables for four sitting empty on the patio. We were told we could check our place in line via text, but the message never updated beyond "You are 11th in line and should be seated between 7:03-7:09 p.m." After several trips back to the host stand, we were eventually told it would be another 11-12 minutes. We were finally seated at 8:06 p.m.--after waiting more than an hour. I would never wait this long for food anywhere. Unfortunately, the service after being seated did not improve the experience. We had to request menus, and initially were given only two. After placing our order, two additional menus were brought. We asked for water three times before it finally arrived. Later, when our entrées were brought out, the server had removed our silverware and we had to ask for replacements. We started with the Tahdig (crispy rice) served with two stew toppings: Ghormeh Sabzi (slow-cooked beef with sautéed herbs, kidney beans, dried lime, and special seasonings) and Gheimeh Bademajan- eggplant stew. The eggplant stew was definitely the better of the two. For salads, we ordered the Beet and Feta with Persian cucumbers, lemon juice, olive oil, feta, and mint--it was just okay. We also had the Shirazi salad with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, onion, olive oil, and lime juice. This is a classic combination and hard to get wrong, and it did not disappoint. For entrées, we tried the whitefish (charbroiled), which my friend felt was not as good as on a previous visit, and the Shish Kabob, which one of us really enjoyed. The true standout of the night was the Juicy Chicken. It was honestly one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had--boneless chunks of incredibly tender chicken, perfectly marinated and charbroiled over an open flame. It was the redeeming quality of the meal. I would give the Juicy Chicken five stars. That said, I would never wait over an hour for it again. While the Juicy Chicken alone would have warrented 5 stars, the service and wait time knocked it down to three. Unfortunately, dining in was not a pleasant experience.

Only negative for us was feeling some pressure to upgrade the sides to our dishes (options to upgrade the salad and rice); we upgraded the rice and didn't necessarily enjoy the upgraded rice with cranberries and think the base options may have been preferable. Really enjoyed the included house salad! If you may know you have a preference for one of the upgrades it may be nice to have the options, otherwise, I would not hesitate to stick with the base which is delicious.

Honestly, I didn't even want to write this review, but after spending a couple of hours thinking…read moreabout it, I felt like I had to. To those writing all the good reviews, I genuinely have one question: have you actually had good Persian food before? Have you ever been to Raffi's? We drove all the way from Orange County because someone recommended this place. We usually just go to Raffi's, but I thought, "let's give this place a shot." Unfortunately, that was a mistake. First, I want to be clear: the staff were great, friendly and attentive. This review has nothing to do with them. It's strictly about the food. 3 Stew Tahdig ($17): The tahdig was extremely thick and hard. Even with the stew on top, it was basically inedible. Mast-o-Moosir (Shallot Yogurt): Served in a very small portion and was extremely watery. You could clearly taste raw shallots instead of a smooth blend. This dish should be made with thick yogurt (mast-e chekideh), not something runny. Main Courses: * Soltani ($39) * Naderi Soltani ($42) Honestly, we couldn't even tell the difference between the two, they seemed identical. We asked for well-done, but everything came medium or even undercooked. The barg kebab (filet mignon) was the worst part, it was tough, rubbery, and almost impossible to cut. It genuinely felt like chewing plastic. Not sure what kind of meat was used, but it definitely wasn't good quality. Salad Issue: The server asked which salad we wanted and mentioned Shirazi, Greek, etc. I chose Greek. When the bill came, we were charged an extra $2 for it, which was never mentioned. That should have been clearly communicated. Also, the bowl the salad was served in was chipped and broken in multiple spots--not a great presentation at all. Rice: The rice was poorly cooked and had barely any saffron (maybe 5% at most). Even another table nearby complained about the rice. Drink - Sekanjebin ($10): This is supposed to be a traditional Persian drink, but this tasted like a mix of cheap syrup. It did not resemble authentic sekanjebin at all. Appetizer - Marinated Olives (Zeytoon Parvardeh): The olives were unusually large and overpowering. This dish should be balanced, you're supposed to taste the walnut, pomegranate, and herbs, not just big olives. At this point, it made sense why the restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday lunchtime, maybe 4-5 tables total. To be completely honest, the food upset our stomachs to the point where we had to take Pepto-Bismol afterward. Overall, the food quality was very disappointing, and we will not be coming back. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic or well-made Persian food. Again, no issues with the staff, they were great. The problem is entirely with the food.

All the meat whether chicken, salmon or beef comes out perfectly juicy and flavorful. Just wish things weren't so expensive. They do add an extra $3 for salad, which isn't preposterous but not worth it in my opinion. Also they certainly do pile on the rice inside!! Yummmm. And I'll gladly eat their roasted tomatoes anytime. This restaurant was quiet and I gladly filled a cup of ice water by the entrance, plopped on a bench and waited less than 15 minutes for 2 plates. The cashier even brought it over to me rather than calling out; a small but meaningful impact of service. This is a new review on an old favorite of mine. Glad to reunite again Taste of Tehran!

Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. My family and I went here one afternoon and as we sat down, the attendant from the restaurant told us that the specific table we were sitting on wasn't part of the restaurant and we were not going to be served if we sat there in a very rude tone. We went ahead and moved. Then we went up to the cashier to order our food and the two people that were there were busy talking to each other in farsi about a customer that just came and didn't tip along with some very vulgar language. Then as we were ordering, we told them it was our first time and we got no smile or anything, very still faces like whatever. We ordered two Koobideh wraps and a few other things. It was very uncomfortable. The Cashier didn't even speak to us. As we sat down we were "served" after we HAD to ask if we get bread and onions and water because we saw that they were taking those things to other tables. The Koobideh wrap tasted like Rubber and you could barely hold it together as it was drenched with the sauce and all soggy. Even my 1 year old wouldn't eat it. We had to open up the sandwiches and eat them with a fork. It was not a good experience. Tip for the owner: You should probably remind your employees that some of your customers are Persian and they will understand them talking shit.
