Visited for the first time on a Sunday evening and decided to go with the 3-course Chef's Table at $49 per person. Chef's Table is served family-style and is the chef's whim. It was described as a good way to get to know the menu. The 3-course version includes dessert while the 2-course version at $39 does not. It was fun being surprised by each dish that was brought out, and I was also surprised by how much food we got. First course was a flatbread served with a house-made ricotta and salumi, as well as the sunchoke and butternut dip served with a spiced bread. All were super delicious. Second course was a pizza (believe they called it 4-cheese) and an off-menu rabbit dish served over polenta. Again, all were super tasty. Dessert was an upside down tiramisu, another hit. A fun and adventurous night out! I would love to come back and explore more of their menu. My only complaint was the noise level in there. We were sitting right across from one another and yelling at each other. read more

Love this restaurant! Every time I go with a large or small group we end up having a delicious meal. The menu is very shareable if you want to try several dishes. I like the family style meals and prices fixe on certain days as well so you can have several courses. The food is seasonal and always made with care and thought. If you're looking for a fun, very tasty dining experience then I recommend trying the Chefs Table at Square Cut. For a long time I didn't know that they served anything besides pizzas however they have entrees on the menu as well and after the Chefs Table I'd love to go back to try more of what they offer. I was with two friends and we got to try a ton of delicious things. For appetizers we were served the beet salad, the house bread with whipped ricotta and relish topping, and their house made crispy proccuito with pickled veggies. I'm not sure I could pick a favorite appetizer because I really loved everything. The ricotta was so smooth and creamy and the sun dried tomato and raisin relish was perfect with it. The beet salad was a really nice blend of sweet and savory with the pickled beet chunks and the peppery greens. The proccuito was the perfect amount of crispy and chewy and delightfully salty and it paired well with the pickled veggies. For the main course we were served both the Salumi pizza and the Formaggio and a Roasted Duck entree with butternut squash mash and romanesco. I think my favorite pizza was the Salumi but both were so delicious it's truly hard to decide. The Salumi has a wonderful tangy and spicy vinaigrette over the top and some arugula which really makes it pop. The Formaggio is very rich and garlicky which I love also and comforting. I also really enjoyed the duck. I haven't had a lot of duck before but I've always felt like it was a tad greasy but this was better. It had a very nice flavor and was very moist. I loved the squash mash also. The three of us got all of this for $39 each and honestly I feel like that was worth the cost. We had some leftovers to take home which was nice and we all left full. I would definitely do this experience again and even if we had the same meal I'd be happy! Maybe next time I'll remember to take pictures! read more

Went here last night with a group of friends to try it out and take advantage of the half off wine bottles on Wednesday! (Side note-we are also big fans of the Hot Buns food truck and this is from the same owner, so we had to check it out!) The physical space is neat, clean, modern, and stylish -kind of a farmhouse style. The waitress who worked with our group was friendly and professional. Also, whoever was in charge of the playlist did a great job-we were loving the background music. As for the food, we shared a charcuterie plate (definitely enough for 6 of us) which was some of the best charcuterie I've had in the city, though I think it could've done without the pork belly spread (it was delicious, just too much food for an appetizer in my opinion). Most of us got pizzas and one got the cauliflower. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The menu advertises the pizza as for one person, but I think it's shareable depending on how hungry you are and especially if you've had an appetizer. My pizza (Salumi) had fresh dough, delicious toppings (I love arugula), and was definitely something I'd order again. The wines we ordered were delicious and paired really well with our food. We loved the half off a bottle deal for sharing. I can't wait to come back and try a cocktail or two ! read more

Great ambiance and the Italian margarita for start was amazing. Everything we tried we shared so got to taste a few things. The cauliflower 3 ways was pretty epic, very unique. Our salad was yummy as well as the baked pasta. But the drink with the limoncello was amazing! We had great service as well! read more

Have eaten at this restaurant a total of 4 times in the last 8 months. 1st and 2nd time, restaurant was great (food & service). 3rd time it was just okay. We decided to give it another try thinking 3rd time was a fluke - but 4th time was not good. 15 minutes after placing order, server informed me that my selected shrimp entree was unavailable (we had 6 pm reservation) leaving only 1 non-meat, non-pizza item available on menu, sturgeon. What an awful entree. Very little flavor and not a quality fish ($42). Server could see that I ate 2 bites of fish and left the rest and didn't bother to ask me if it was ok. Appetizers were not good either. Thinking restaurant must have lost its chef or lost its desire to serve delicious food. We will not be going back read more

Really cute pizza restaurant. The prices were just a bit high considering what comes on the pizzas however they were still delicious. I wish the restaurant were in Nulu but I am glad to see they are trying to bring more options to that area. Great service and food. read more

This place is such a great addition to the neighborhood. First impression, the space is beautiful. It's elegant without being snobby. We had great service and received our cocktails promptly. We ordered the ricotta appetizer and a mushroom square cut pizza, as well as the sausage pizza. We were a little over zealous and ended up taking home a whole pizza. It was a lot of food! First time at Perso a few weeks ago. Was eager to try it. My husband made reservations. Overall, we were happy with the food and would like to try again but the service was so awful that we are hesitant to go back. The waitress seemed bothered by our mere presence. We like to order things as we go so we are not done with dinner in 60 min. We started with a few glasses of wine and then ordered a few apps. The waitress asked what we wanted for mains and we politely said we would like more time to decide. She didn't offer a smile or friendly demeanor thru our entire interaction. She came back 2 min later asking again what we wanted for mains. I again, politely said that we would wait to order our mains once the apps came out. She however came back again about 5 min later and didn't ask what we would be having, she just said "what are you having for mains" it was no longer a question. We weren't gonna argue with this woman so just put in the order. My husband and I were completely turned off and honestly it ruined our evening which was a bigger deal than usual as I've been going thru chemo and this was meant to be a rare enjoyable evening out. I Will say that my husband noticed she may have gotten a talking to behind the bar as her demeanor did change a bit after he observed an interaction with what might have been the manager. But by this point we were 20 min from leaving. Here's what I'll say- I get it, waiting is not an easy job at times, I've been there. But you are choosing to work in a customer facing job that requires you to make some effort. Putting on a smile and not being actively rude is part of the job. You may not think it matters but it can make or break a persons experience. And in our case it broke ours. read more

I was so excited to try this place based on reviews and images. Maybe because they are newer? Maybe because we were a group of 6? The service and food took so long. The pizza was just ok and took almost 2 hrs to get to us. The cauliflower was so bland. And in our over 2.5 hr meal, we only got a couple of water refills. We were asking to drink other people's waters because we were empty. I think the appetizers were better than the pizza. I was hoping for more, but in a city with so many pizza places, it would have had to be better for me to come back at this price point. read more

Well, I wish I could say we had a great time there, but the truth is after circling for 30 minutes and not finding a parking spot, we gave up and went elsewhere. Really bummed out because it looked like it would be great. They really need to see if they can make arrangements with nearby daytime businesses to let their customers park when the businesses are closed at night. Just a thought anyhow. Went on a lovely Saturday night and ate on the patio ( inside was quite noisy). We went with the Chef's table 3-course for $49 each and it was fantastic! So much food. Menu changes of chef's whim, but we received 3 different full size appetizers for our 1st course and Cornish hen ( to share) plus a wonderful vegetarian pasta as our 2nd course, and seasonal dessert. This was more than worth venturing out on a cold and rainy night for. Apps were fabulous, great local brews on tap, and the pizza was delicious. We had enough left over for lunch the next day too. We ate at the bar and got the added bonus of watching the bartender and proprietor experiment with some "spiced ice" and right concoction with which to mix it. I thought I was going in for a slice....Holey moley! This is not your typical pizzeria, this is a full blown gourmet experience - at a very reasonable price. We sampled a lot of the appetizers, all of which were beyond unique and crazy delicious. The cod/clam chowder deal (seasonal?) was a warm buttery sunny bowl of happiness. I was so overwhelmed by the preamble I forgot about the main course...Pizza! Wow...nothing like it in town, frankly anywhere. This is a chef curated, super unique experience - with a sustainability bent, sauce made of wine dregs and mustard was insane! Emile you are super talented, and nice! Not only is the pizza amazing, but the manager Liz brings this place to another level. I had messaged them on Instagram when I saw the pizza I wanted wasn't on their new menu to ask if they could still make it. Turns out all the same pizzas are available as takeout! She responded immediately, and when the restaurant was too busy to take an order that night, she offered me a free pizza to order the next night. My wife and I went to Square Cut this evening and was surprised when we showed up at 8pm on Friday how dead it was. It honestly made me nervous we were doomed for a bad experience - but I was wrong. We sat outside because it was a nice evening. My wife who is always cold sat next to a cozy outdoor space heater and was very comfortable. The waitress was casual with us, but attentive when we needed anything. My wife had a great sour beer, and I stuck with water. When looking over the menu, it said one pizza is good enough for 1 person. In my opinion, 1 pizza is good for more than 1 person, but maybe not quite enough for 2 assuming you get no appetizers. Since we skipped the shareable starters, 2 pizzas was WAY too much food. That's cool tho, who ever complains about good leftover pizza? No one ever. However, I will say, next time we will probably split an app and a pizza. As for the food. I got the simple Margherita and my wife got the [ultra cheese] Formaggio. Both were surprisingly good and somehow got better as we ate. I don't know why it was slow on a Friday, I guess we just got lucky. read more

This is the best pizza I've ever eaten. We had the mushroom and the formaggio, and it had just the right amount of salt and toppings. As an appetizer, we had stracciaella and prime beef tartar. Everything we had was ample sized and the appetizers had plenty of bread for spreading. The atmosphere is also great, with my favorite 90s music. I will definitely be back. read more

Was visiting Louisville this weekend, and just loved this place. Honestly some of the best pizza ever. The crust was so light - just delicious. We got the clam and the salumi pizzas - both were excellent. On top of the pizza, great appetizers and side dishes - the stracciatella cheese spread was awesome - and the roasted cauliflower was SO good (it was big, so I took it home and am having it for lunch tomorrow).
