I've never written a review on here before so I'm not too sure how it works but what I do know is that I am so glad that the first review I am writring is such a positive one! I have lived in Dyer for years and never knew this salon was here! It's kind of like a hidden gem! I recieved a giftcard for a "spa day" for persuasive looks & I'm so happy I did! It will now be my regular spot. I used my giftcard towards 1. A mani/pedi that I had with a sweet young lady named Jenny. She went out of her way to meet my needs and our conversation was great! (I wish I knew how to upload pics of my nails on here because they look fantastic.) 2. A touch up & haircut with a lovely lady named Paula who I will most certainly be returning to regularly! She matched my color perfectly & she was so passionate about making me feel gorgeous. 3. Lastly, I got a mini facial with Michelle who was so knowledgeable about skin care that it blew my mind! I'm not usually the type of person to spend money on a facial but I am going to budget one in with Michelle quarterly like she suggested. I honestly felt so special while I was there & I can not wait to return!! I visited this salon on Saturday morning after purchasng a facial Groupon. I had actually had my sights on the salon even before the Groupon was offered because I saw where it was an Aveda salon. I had a wonderful experience at this salon. The one stylist, who I believe was one of te owners, greeted me when I entered, offered me something to drink and then let me know that Michelle was just finishing up with another client and would be with me shortly. As I waited I looked around at the different products that were offered and had a nice conversation with the stylist and her client. I waited maybe 5 minutes before Michelle came to start my facial. She was knowledgeable, informative, and very personable. My facial was wonderful! I had a wonderful experience and will definitely go back. I may even try the stylist. Michelle recommended products for my daily skincare which I had no issue with purchasing, she was not pushy or forceful and I didn't feel rushed. Even the lady who checked me out was nice and she even offered other products that the salon didn't even carry that she thought I might like. read more

This place was just what I needed! My car had broken down and I was able to get my nails done by Jenny, who also helped me reschedule my pedicure with ease. Jenny also did my nails and she was fantastic!! Great conversation and did my nails beautifully! It has been a week having this shellac and usually it only stays on my nails for maybe 4 to 5 days. Even my pedicure was fantastic and the girls were great to talk with. Everyone I encountered at this establishment was super friendly and made my experience a pleasant one! The only thing I will say is if you have a groupon, I would call right away because it seems like they have certain spots for groupon users and then the regular customers. Not a bad thing because it is a business thing. Also groupon users please tip the amount of what the service normally is, that's how they make their money and these ladies definitely deserve that 20%. Now go enjoy your own experience! read more

I was referred to Albe by a friend. As someone with a background in cosmetology I was my usual reluctant self. The atmosphere at Persuasive Looks is calm and relaxing, and the classic Aveda scent when you walk in is always amazing! Anywho, I went in for a drastic color change and I was surprised and impressed! He seemed very knowledgable when it came to color. It's been years since I've had highlights but I loved them! And I was surprised at how good my hair felt afterward. The shampoo was a treat along with the complimentary hand massage. And I'm very picky when it comes to my haircuts, but it was one of the best haircuts I've had in a while! Needless to say I booked my next haircut with him! read more

I love it here. ALBI is a great stylist and he made my frizzy crazy hair look amazing and his highlights were so fresh and flattering for my face shape. My cut looks great curly or straight. I had a Groupon but I wasn't treated like a second class citizen. I was seen on time and he cut, deep conditioned, did partial foils and managed to blow me out in time for my nail appointment at another place. I couldn't ask for more. Great salon without having to drive Downtown. Plus, it's all Aveda. I hope more people check it out, but I kind if like that's it's not overcrowded. This is a great salon, I totally recommend ALBI if you have wild unmanageable hair and need an amazing style. read more

okay so ive never even heard of this salon and im very happy that ive found it! the salon is absolutly beautiful and the staff are very nice and prompt. i did groupon and had shelac mani and pedi. What a great deal and loved my nail tech, she was so friendly. i talk to a young woman name Lisa while i was there and she was telling me how she is going to be esthetician soon and that she will be doing eyelash extensions too. i told her that i will be getting married in december and that i really would love to get them done.. She invited me back and told me that she will give me and my bridesmaids a package deal! so i will definetly will be taking advantage of that. read more

I went to Persuasive Looks Salon in Dyer on Thursday. I am very picky with who cuts my hair, I couldn't find anyone around here that cut my hair the way I liked it. The place was fantastic, very clean, very nice, and very professional. I had a stylist named Breanna and she was very good, she was the nicest girl I ever had cut my hair. She also cut my hair just perfect, it was exactly they way I wanted it cut she did an excellent job. I would recommend Breanna and Persuasive Looks Salon to anyone and believe me I'm going to tell all of my friends about it. I wanted to to get this great salon find out to my friends. It's not often I will rate a business but I thought I would this time. This is a very beautiful new salon for Dyer and I hope they will stay in our community. My hair cut and color services were great! It is a pretty large salon with over 15 stylist stations. I only saw four or five stylists that day so I hope they can keep this level of services up once they are fully staffed. I have never been this pampered in any other hair salon in this area. I originally came for the great selection of AVEDA products I saw while passing by but will definitely stay for the great services I received. read more

My boyfriend asked me to try the salon. He gets his hair cut there. I wanted to get a facial done but since it is so new they could not schedule that day with my hair cut. I had to schedule an appointment on the days the esthetician is there. They were very nice and accomodating though and they promised that they will provide the services daily as demand grows. There was a really nice classy vibe there and I can't wait to get my hair colored next time. I LOVE AVEDA products and I love my hair cut. Finally, they did seem to know a lot about their products and had a lot of AVEDA product to choose from. I will definitely go back. read more

I came to Persuasive Looks Salon because I was familiar with the work one of their wonderful stylists, she is simply the best !!! When you walk in the staff immediately make you feel very welcomed they are all very polite and remind you what customer service should feel like. I have never been to a shop where they put so much knowledge and care into what they are doing and make you feel pampered all at the same time. Since coming here, I have learned a lot about AVEDA products and how to use them at home. If you are in search of a new salon I suggest setting up an appointment really soon. I love going to Persuasive Looks Salon. The staff is professional and incredibly knowledgeable about hair care. I've been using their Aveda Products and I love the changes I'm seeing in my hair. I feel pampered when I go there....all the differences are in the small things....quiet and relaxing atmosphere, scalp massage, comfortable sinks as your hair gets conditioned (and your feet are propped up!), sleek surroundings and reasonable prices! This salon is very chic downtown looking. It's really one of the best looking salons in northwest Indiana .the staff and owner are all so friendly . They make u feel so welcome here . Wow! It's too bad others have had such a bad experience. I've been to this salon at least three times and love it....but I love the stylist I see and wouldn't want anyone else. The people in front and on the phone have always been pleasant but I'm sticking with the first stylist that took care of me. Yes, he may take long, but he is awesome at what he does.
