We have used century for 12 years, since we bought our current home and our realtor suggested…read moregetting a service maintenance contract with an exterminator since our house backs up to a heavily wooded area. They come out once a quarter and spray outside our home to deter ants, which we have seen inside only on several occasions. When we have seen ant infestation (twice inside our mailbox and once inside our home in an air duct) we have called and a technician was dispatched and thoroughly resolved the issue. On Saturday, 3/18/17, my husband noticed a few very small ants in our kitchen. He made a call and a technician (Brett Seace) came on Monday. He was very thorough and polite and closed both gates after he was finished, a big issue for us as we have a dog and many service people leave one or both gates open. He informed us of what he did and what he found (no active infestation found) and told us what to expect and what to do if we do see further evidence of ants. Our realtor recommended Century 12 years ago and we are still using them and very satisfied and will continue to recommend them.

LADIES DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Michael Lynch came inspected , and tried to used the scare tactic…read moreon me and when he didn't get the reaction he was expecting he called my tenant to scare her. When I told him she doesn't need to be quoted because it is I who is paying and am the owner, and after leaving he even told her that I told him that I mentioned to him to not tell her. I just spoke with the owner and he TRIED TO DEFEND HIM , saying she was on the account but if I said I was the homeowner I am the point of contact and Michael left to call her immediately he wanted to scare her to push me to hire them. Michael said it was an infestation I had other companies quote me , and yes there are dropping BUT EVERYBODY ELSE told me minimal , and to bait first to see if there are any live activity. Michael did not say that he told me I needed the attic restoration immediately. Please, please always get other quotes, a mice is a stressful situation but do not this company scare you , do not hire them. If I could leave a zero star review I would. They also deleted my review on Google and I reposted.

I recently decided to tackle our radon levels and purchased a monitoring device. Initially, I found…read morethat the readings fluctuated between 2 pci/l and 4 pci/l, especially with the basement window open. After a heavy rain, I was alarmed to see the levels spike to 9 pci/l. Since we have a room converted into a remote office in the basement, resolving the radon issue became a priority. After doing some research, I discovered that Ric had a remarkable number of 5-star reviews compared to other companies, so I reached out to him and set up an appointment. Ric showed up right on time at 8:00 AM and got straight to work. The first thing he did was identify the best spot in our unfinished basement for drilling a hole. He chose a discreet location behind the laundry room door, ensuring it wouldn't be noticeable. Ric then carefully brought in several buckets of gravel and soil under the slab, installed a white PVC pipe, and extended it into the garage. From there, he routed the pipe up into the attic and out through a small hole drilled in the siding of the house. He worked diligently for six hours and did an impressive job. Ric made sure to clean up thoroughly after finishing, and he sealed the slab crack with specialized radon chalk. The next day, with the basement door and windows tightly shut, I was thrilled to see the radon levels drop to sub-zero. I monitored the readings for three weeks, and they remained consistently low. I can't believe Ric doesn't have even more 5-star reviews; he truly did an outstanding job!

I cannot recommend Ricardo enough if you are looking to install a radon abatement unit at your home. Pro tip: Ricadro has discount codes for AirThings, one of the best brands of radon readers for tracking radon levels in your home for a long time.

I was alerted to the possibility my home may have elevated radon levels by a friend in Leesburg,…read morewho recently discovered that his home had high radon. I ordered a $3 test kit from Virginia Department of Health and was shocked to find we had high readings of around 24 pCi/Lin the basement. The first action that's recommended when you get a high reading is to take a second reading, to confirm that it's not an anomaly. Luckily, my friend had an electronic radon meter (they're, like $200) which he let me borrow, and sure enough - 24 pCi/L in the basement, and 16 pCi/L upstairs. I decided I had seen enough, and wanted it remediated. I did a quick Google search and judging from the results, it just looked like "radon remediation" could be the kind of business it's easy to enter with no credentials or experience. A lot of the results just looked shady, or like fly-by-night businesses, so I asked my friend who he'd used, and he said JK Radon, and recommended them without hesitation. I called John the next day, we had a short, productive conversation, and he gave me a date and a quote over the phone. I was clear to me that he knew his stuff, knew his way around home construction and the obstacles he might encounter. He showed up at the appointed team, did a neat, thorough and workmanlike installation, and was pleasant, professional, and courteous. But most important of all - within 48 hours, our radon levels had plummeted by 98%, and to well within the recommended limit of 1 pCi/L. We ended up with a reading of 0.4 pCi/L upstairs, and 0.6 pCi/L in the basement. Overall, we are extremely satisfied, and wish we had called John earlier.

He keeps pushing it off because he's too busy. It's a one person company so you're out of luck if there's any issues with it. We had to call another company to replace the fan that he installed.
