We have used their services thrice in the last three years for various kind of pest control activities like rodent elimination, removing birds nests, and putting caps on externally exposed vents (one of which was almost 30 feet high), etc. Jeff is a phenomenal account manager and recently they came back and replaced a vent cap that fell off due to the high winds we received a month ago. PMSI was scheduled to come to our unit on 9/25/24. They sent out notices that if we weren't ready we would be charged 150 dollars and that it is MANDATORY AND CANNOT BE CHANGED. This means completely emptying out the kitchen and bathrooms. They gave us two days warning. So the day before I emptied out the kitchen. All food, dishes, appliances except for refrigerator and oven. Then when I take out the trash there's a notice on the door that that the date they said couldn't be changed had been changed. Do you know how much work it is to completely empty a full kitchen and bathroom? And they threaten their customers with fees on short notice and change the date the day before? Whoever made THAT decision should be fired... now I have to wait 3 days with my kitchen torn apart and my living room a storage area because it took hours to empty and will take even longer to put back together just to take it all out again for when they are SUPPOSED to come now. I'm feeling pretty sure they will probably reschedule again. Go with someone more reliable. To sum up. They threaten customers with a 150 dollar fee. Say it can't be rescheduled. Very happy with PEst Management Services Inc (PMSI) who our neighbor referred to us. We are in a townhouse that is neighbored by wooded areas and one day found a single dead roach near the front door. I know that where there's one there's usually more, but Jeff was quickly out to assess and give us an estimate. He sold me on their annual plan which is $95/quarter and includes free warranty treatments in between visits. During his visit he let us know that the large ants we were seeing were carpenter ants and that they eat wood--not something I would have considered! Two weeks later (after heavy rains) I noticed a few more ants that seemed they were coming in through the front of the house and sure enough PMSI came and sprayed again with no cost to me. They use an electronic system which is also great--even if it's late into the evening I can schedule service and I also get immediate service reports, which is a neat feature. They seem very organized and professional. Service was conducted during COVID and all personnel were outfitted with gloves and masks and maintained distance as best possible. PMSI came out the next day to inspect my attic for squirrels. In about 30mins, we had agreed on the price to remove, disinfect and seal up the holes in the attic. They went to work the day after and finished up everything in about a week. There is a 6 months warrantee to follow as well. I had called "another" company and they took about a week to give me a quote that was several times more expensive. Needless to say I went with PMSI and have zero complaints. read more

The quote is high and although they are very professional, they are inconsistent. The inspector said there is a hole in the attic and the guy who install the device said there is no hole. We live in a wooded area and had mutiple issues before but these guys are not very helpful and quote was highest among all I called. read more

I had my first treatment today for roaches. My tech is Tim. They are the best! I went with a larger pest control company and they were horrible. Tim took his time, explained everything, and was very very thorough. I highly recommend PMSI and Tim, and Mark as well. Mark came out to give me an inspection. They know what they are doing. Bait and switch. We had one mouse in our house for several months. PMSI came out and put out bait traps inside and outside. The mouse was caught on a glue trap within a day. After that we didn't need their services anymore and they demanded that we continue paying them every three months for a year. They are threatening to send the bills for services that we do not want or need to collections. We contacted a few companies after having a couple of bats in our house (the living room, not the attic). Unlike the other two companies that came over, PMSI did not charge to provide an estimate. In addition, the person who came over was knowledgeable and explained that there was no need to do anything now. Considering the small number of bats and the issue--he pointed out that the mortar on the first few rows at the top of the chimney was gone, and there was guano in that area--he did not recommend we do anything other than replace the bricks in a month or two after the bats have gone. PMSI did not try to create a problem that they needed to service. I appreciate their integrity. On the basis of their recommendation, we're now looking for a mason instead of a pest company. read more

Professional, courteous and thorough. Came referred to us through our property manager and very happy with the choice. Had some winged ants appear in the basement and were worried they were vanguard of a termite colony. The tech immediately identified that they were flying ants, and not termites, carpenter ants, or other wood boring insect of concern. Wonderful amazing service! Jeff is so nice and was so easy to schedule with. We had a squirrel camping out in our attic space - who decided to get pretty frisky and loud when we were trying to sleep. Called them - and after a very quick assessment, they agreed that there were squirrels up there. They came three short days later to install a one-way door - after explaining that they did NOT want to trap the squirrels in the hot space because they might eat out another escape route through the dry wall - gross! After installing the one-way door they gave me simple instructions to call them back at a certain day to decide whether we were still hearing things up there. I was told by a door to door pest company that I had termites in my back gate and that they could treat it for $900. I don't have $900 lying around so I called PMSI for a second opinion. Kyle came out within a day and did an inspection and found no evidence of termites. He also took the time to explain what he looks for and what the other causes of damage might be. I was a customer - Crazy - this got pushed to not recommended as a review. Not told this would be harmful to the environment (wildlife). Isn't it helpful that people know this could be harmful and the person that visited my home did not inform me that it could be harmful? From Cornell Lab Exposure to rodenticides is common: studies in New York, New England, and Canada have shown that 49-86% of raptors found dead from a variety of causes may have anticoagulant rodenticides in their system and that rodenticides were deemed to be the cause of death in 5-15% of cases. Although small exposures are not always lethal, these results are a reminder of the many hazards that hawks face in the landscapes that they share with humans. Signed up for service - it was not explained that this would be quarterly for a year - filled out tons of paper work. I was told the mouse traps would not harm the wildlife but in reading further these rodenticides can harm animals. We have hawks, owl, fox, salamanders, etc. So when they tell you oh it doesn't hurt them - think twice - 1.) before you sign a year contract and 2.) about harming wildlife (and possibly outdoor cats). Why did I ever leave these guys? So a few years ago, one of those "other" pest companies knocked on my door and offered me what I thought was a sweet deal. Turned out not to be so sweet. Okay.... so this service is still good n all but I have one issue with them- put up with service when its unnecessary OR ELSE... deal with their attitude! Let me explain: I subscribe to a year round treatment service. PMSI sends out little postcards with a date of their choosing to come out each quarter and do the service. Well when I got the quarterly treatment postcard saying they would be coming out next week. But I simply just dont have any insect problem in January and can't see shelling out $100 for no reason. Understandable right? The lady on the phone who I call up to cancel my appt. gives me a bunch of attitude. She stated that I had also cancelled my fall treatment (because in November I also didnt have any insect problem- like that is a bad thing!) She first tried to insist they still re-install outside "Barrier treatments" but I explained that right now insects just haven't been bothering us in the 20 degree weather and in the snow! When I refused the ($100) treatment she said they are going to cancel my quarterly service all together. Great. Thanks a lot PMSI. read more

We had mice, and paid $475 (!) for them to set traps, then come back in 30 days to seal up any holes. My husband signed a contract he thought spelled all that out, but they included something about quarterly service. A couple months go by and we realize they hadn't come back so we called to make sure we got our 30-day followup. The receptionist said the technician would call us. He never did. This week, we get notice that they made an appointment next month (without our consent) for a quarterly service. When I called and explained that we didn't want quarterly service -- just our 30-day post visit we still never got -- the technician (Mark) said too bad because we signed a contract and that they would send us to collections. For services not rendered? Seriously? And we still haven't got the 30-day followup promised with our $475. read more

I contracted with PMSI in approx 2007/2008 to treat our property for ticks in addition to the quarterly service, after my 5 yr old was treated many months for Lyme. She was just recently diagnosed with a second case of it. In addition, she found a tick on her after being outside on the lawn. I just found out that they have not treated for ticks since 2011. They say that it is a yearly service, and that I would have had to ask for it every year. HOWEVER, I never called and asked for the tick service each year between 2008 and 2011. Nor have I received a phone call asking if I wanted it at any time in the last 9 years, as they claim to do. THIS IS A MATTER OF HEALTH, as anyone with a bad experience with Lyme will tell you. We have seen a few spiders in the office and well as a predominately female office, we wanted them gone!! My friend Andrea recommended PMSI, so we asked them to come out and take a look. Jeff came out looked around the office and gave us three options and told me to let him know if I had any questions. I called back and scheduled for a one time service. There was no pushiness to have quarterly or monthly and he even offered a warranty for the one time service. Jeff scheduled someone to come out the next day. Greg came out this am and was so nice and professional. He double checked the areas where we had seen the spiders with me and got to work. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I needed to do a termite inspection for a refinance and called PMSI. They charge a reasonable $30 for the inspection but that is when they hit you with large fees for drummed up work. I ended up paying $650 for them to spray the floor joists in a 8' x 10' basement room where he said they was holes from board beetles. They got you where they want you because if you need that inspection report to proceed you have to pay the money or try to schedule someone else to come out. Needless to say I would not recommend this company. Sure, they could have done the same work and charged a fair price instead of ripping customers off. read more

This company showed up with promises that it would be able to prevent all pests. Some of the guys who showed up didn't even know what kind of bugs they were finding in my house or how they could stop it. They were out multiple times to try to get rid of them and now they tell me to keep glue traps near all my windows to catch any spiders that might come in. The windows are closed, locked and sealed. They had me sign a contract for a year. That contract is non negotiable. I told them that I have had trouble with them, that their service hasn't helped and they will not consider breaking the contract. The most important thing to this company is my $190 for the next two quarters rather than my experience with their company. I contend that my bad review is likely more costly to them than $190. So here is the first of my bad reviews!!! If it were me, I'd rather cut the contract to avoid bad public reviews of my business...I guess there are different things that are important to different people. Oh and when I am not raising my voice at you on the phone but questioning this contract practice, it would be nice if you had professional customer service people who could not start to get defensive and raise their voice at their customer base. I'm really shocked to see any negative ratings at all here about PMSI. Our experiences with PMSI--Greg and the office staff have been more than pleasant, efficient, professional and thorough. Several years ago I called because I saw a snake in my yard. They were here within 30 minutes and humanely removed it to "set it free." They then came back to install a 'barrier' and we haven't seen a snake since. After several months of great service, we then decided to use them for all of our regular exterminating maintenance needs and haven't regretted it for a moment. Their prices are competitive--very fair, I think, and they follow-up regularly. We've been very pleased with their service and I have (and will continue --as long as this level of service continues) enthusiastically recommended them to my neighbors and friends. read more

We heard noises in the attic and went up there to find our duct work was being destroyed. We walked around the attic for an hour and saw no animals, no poop, and no holes in the attic. We called PMSI to come give us a quote and see what we have. They sent a used car salesman to go up in the attic and suggest we had raccoons based off of the rips in the ventilation. He didn't see any access points for the raccoons, raccoon poop, or any nest. He said he would come back and walk the roof, install a trap on the roof and monitor it for 5 days. All for the low price of $1,000. Or we could pay $3000 for them to remove our blown in insulation and replace it. These prices blew my mind especially since we had no idea how they could have gotten into the attic. So we called another pest company to look to double check. Their guy found mice droppings and suggested we treat for mice. I put a rat rap up there and caught a mouse The first day. We went with the other companies quarterly price of $89 for whole house treatment plus mice treatment. PMSI would have taken $911 or $2911 out of our pocket and not fixed the problem. Don't use them for a home sale inspection for termites and wood destroying insect. Cost $30.00. They used this low price to get a foot in the door. The guy came out and found no termites but a few small carpenter bee ( wood destroying insect) holes on my porch and carport. So this is a problem for me. I ask how much to treat the area he says usually $650 but we will give you the real-estate agent price $350. I said okay do the treatment. Another guy came out later and spent no more than 10 minutes going around spraying. $350.00 are you kidding me, for 10 min work. I should have seen the red flag on the $30.00 to do an inspection and report.When was the last time anyone did a service call for $30.00 I'm pretty sure I got ripped off and at minimum over charged for all this . I needed this to pass for my home sale and they knew that. My bad for agreeing on the additional $350 treatment. I feel like an idiot for falling into this money making trap. read more

The gentleman who did our pest control was wonderful, very nice guy always very helpful and polite.. HOWEVER.. the lady that answers the phones is horrible!!! We called to complain because we are supposed to be treating the spiders but we always have spiders nonetheless.. this is the only reason we have them spraying our home and they are not effective. When we called to discuss, the lady that answered told us, "they don't guarantee anything", and pretty much told us that we are more than welcome to use someone else.. not exactly the customer service I was expecting. She also stated that we need to fax over a letter to get us off the quarterly servicing... She is just the pitts!!! Their office definitely needs some customer service schooling.. read more

PMS is unprofessional, unresponsive and they do not perform the treatments they say they do. I asked them to void our year contract and they refused. They take forever to return your calls and the secretary that answers the phone is rude and unprofessional. The couple times we had them spray, we still had pests and they didn't even complete the second half of a treatment when they said they would (and still charged me) even though they knew we would not be moving in our home for a couple months. This company charges a low rate to do inspections and then puts in misleading inspection reports and "required" treatment because they know you will have to pay to get to closing. The supposed evidence of past termites under our stairs was there prior to our move in10 years ago and been treated and was not an issue prior to our move in over 10 years ago. Very minimal damage. No termites or evidencevof termites since then. Now we are paying $450 for treatment in order to close in 2 days for minor damage and evidence of PAST termite damage that occurred well OVER 10 years ago..... Not OK and very shady. funny they did not provide pictures of the damage and evidence either. The agent brought these folks in for us....look around at other businesses. read more

Adam from PMSI is amazing! He has been doing the pest control service for my parents for years and was able to rid them of their sugar ant infestation. I just moved to his area and he was very thorough in inspecting the needs for my house. Adam was sure to let me know where he was leaving traps for my possible rat problem and sprayed for ants as well. He made sure that everything was safe for my dog (who also loved him). I have an annual termite contract with PMSI. I scheduled the annual termite inspection twice with PMSI. The first time they showed up 45 minutes late. The tech had muddy shoes and no shoe covers and did not want to take off his shoes. He said the office would call to reschedule. They did not. The second time I waited and no one came. I called the office and they said the person who was to have come was no longer with them. They did not apologize. They weren't sorry. They were going to schedule again, but honestly, it isn't good enough. They refused to refund my fee for the inspection. So, I also cancelled my quarterly contract with them for pest control, and the lady on the phone said ok, that was great. I think it is too. There are lots of other providers with more professional care for my home and for my time. read more

I would NEVER RECOMMEND this company with the current management. I had good service and treatment from PMSI for approximately 3 years and then new management took over. I had three notices from PMSI that my credit card on file was not valid. Because of those notices, I proceeded to pay via my electronic bill pay. Meanwhile, they billed my credit card without my knowledge to the amount of $210.00!. I called as asked about the double payments. Patty (owner) told me I had to pay for the mosquito service in advance (Never Had I Been Told That - EVER). Patty (Owner) argued with me on the phone about the amounts, pre-payments, whether or not that had told me that my credit card was not valid or not. Patty (owner) repeatedly loudly talked over me. Patty (owner) would not let me get my sentences out. Patty (owner) did not follow my directions to wait until the last payment from my bank arrived at PMSI so all of this could be settled. I cannot believe that an owner would talk to a client this way and in this level of loudness and rudeness. Horrible - non-existent customer service. Horrible customer relations. I cancelled my account and I hope never to deal with them again!. read more
