Picked up a large bag of orchard grass and timothy hay blend, oxbow essentials rabbit food (pellets), and an apple stick bouquet (made with marigold, rose, and cornflower petals), to keep my bunnies happy and healthy! I visited a different location of this chain long ago and never returned cuz they didn't accept credit card payments, which is inconvenient for me. But years later, I'm so glad I returned to Pet Club and gave them another chance. Not only does the Cupertino store accept credit cards (Visa/MC only, no Amex/Discover as of April 2024), but also the place was clean, organized, and stocked full of small animal products, which is rare in the pet world. Sure, they have stuff for dogs, cats, fish, birds, and reptiles too, but I only came here for one thing (well, two if you count both of my bunnies). Offerings include assorted snacks, unique housing, cute and creative accessories, chew toys galore, uncommon food and hay brands, harnesses, tunnels, and other goodies. The employee who helped me provided friendly and efficient service, and there was no waiting on a Wednesday afternoon, which simply added to my positive experience at Pet Club. I don't think there's Pet Club in LA. I stopped by to look for collars, harness and leash and I ended up buying a blue set. This location is fully stocked and has the brand Fromm that I feed my puppy with in stock! I absolutely love the engraving machine "my family" next to the cashier. The previous review isn't lying with how they treat the yt folks vs poc. I have been coming for 10 years and the cashier by the name nacho gave me such bed ridden standoff behavior. Such a degrading experience now I will have to pick another location. I guess I have to start going back to petco. This sucks because usually mike and the other two cashier ladies are always kind and helpful. That guy clearly needs more training. Bought the wrong food and was not allowed to come with my receipt to exchange. Pleaded with Lori and begged to call her manager when I am there to exchange. Two other locations said there was no reason why I should be struggling this much. Lori did not oblige and my dog broke out in a rash. Manager sympathizes with the yt folks and well poc we just got to take a loss. Especially disregarding me as a woman of color and his careless attitude acting like I had no receipts no proof but I called two different times in one day and the next day as well. This happened in March! Lori did me dirty and I pray she experiences this until she makes it right karmically. my dog suffered over her incompetence. Very very unfortunate but it happens. This is my go to for my pets needs. I can purchase bird food, snacks or accessories for their cages. They have good quality millet that my parakeet enjoys. He is not fond of the packaged millet. I also purchase food for my koi. We mix two different packages for variety. One is for color maintenance and the other is for essential nutrients. I also like to buy the wild bird food for my bird feeder. I have random varieties of birds that pass through my back yard. read more

This is a chain, but the place on Homestead feels like a hometown store. The staff is consistent and consistently friendly and helpful. And they like animals. Cashier Lori is always sweet to our dog and gives him treats that he likes. This is a small Pet Club, but they seem to have everything you might need packed into the smaller space. The only challenge I ran into was with cat furniture, which is up insanely high! I decided I didn't need it that badly. As for other things, great selection and well-stocked. We found everything we went in for and prices seem reasonable. Having been to multiple other pet stores that had a lot of bare shelves, it was great to be able to have our needs met so easily here. Check out service was also good. This location of Pet Club is my favorite store for food and supplies in the entire South Bay! Parking is easy; it's got a huge lot shared with Safeway, Rite Aid, Ulta, and a bunch of other stores/restaurants making it a convenient place to get everything done at once. They carry a lot of high quality choices and frequently have discounts which really helps offset the price when you're feeding your pet actually healthy options. The store itself is very organized and clean--which is something I can't say for some of the bigger chain stores in the area. I'm mostly writing this review because the staff have been exceedingly helpful and friendly every single time I had questions; every pet owner knows how overwhelming all of the options can be! The staff here always take the time show show me where items are and what other items I can consider. They're also really good about accepting returns if the item is still in good condition--I was struggling to find a carrier I could get my cat into (she's a street rescue and a bit spicy,) but the staff were willing to work with me trying different carriers if the item was still in good condition. read more

The good: Great selection of lower and middle tier foods, toys, bedding, and habitat stuff for your fur, feathered, and scaled babies. They even have freeze dried foods/treats and recently started carrying Orijen and Acana. The bad: no Weruva cat food The REALLY bad: returns or exchanges have to be at the exact location. (Grocery Bargain is independently owned but they aren't this strict.) Even if you have a receipt within 30 days and the product is unopened, you also have to fill out a form. They need to know your name, phone number, reason for return, and signature. This brings back memories in the 90s when such practice was prevalent. Verdict: Not a place to "try" new foods or stuff. Returns are a hassle. I'd rather spend a few more bucks and shop at mom and pop store- For Other Living Things. read more

Since Pet Club closed in Mountain View in April 2016, it's a 44 mile round trip to Pet Club San Mateo, or a 37 mile round trip to Pet Club Blossom Hill San Jose, from my home in central Sunnyvale. That is until Feb 13, 2018 when the Cupertino store finally opened after months of qualifying for city regulations prior to their grand opening. A lot of retired people like the wife and I have pets. Marty, our cat of 14 years passed away in 2016. But we still have Stan, a very large 17 lb white cat. Stan is like my wife -won't eat the same food two meals in a row. Cat needs training and wife needs training! I go to the petclubstores.com web site and click on this weeks advertisement, which changes every Wednesday. I cut out a coupon, the 3 ounce $0.55 Fancy Feast, maximum 24 cans. Pet Club sells the 14 lb bag of Royal Canin Light 40 (Minceur) for $48. I use a mailer coupon for 20% off any dry food bag 10 lbs or more, to get the price down to $38. Amazon sells the same bag for $50 before shipping. Once, the wife got Royal Canin senior indoor dry food, instead of the light. Stan's weight ballooned up from 16 lbs to 18 lbs, as did his use of the cat litter! The wife renamed Stan Big Bubba! More training needed -for the wife, not the cat! Stan is picky about his canned food, so I cut off the labels and stick them in the wife's purse when I send her here. Now that we are both retired, the wife wears the pants in the house, and me shorts with thin white crisscross strap sandals! Pet club now takes credit cards besides ATM cards. This doesn't mean the line at the counter goes fast, as somebody is always returning something, the very old seniors writing out checks, or for the old ladies -digging through their purses for that last penny to cover the tax. Keep your receipts for returns -my cat is finicky and spoiled, and his appetite varies according to the weather-you only have 30 days to return items. They have coupons for odd stuff - $0.69 for 4 rolls of toilet paper -for humans, not pets. Stan had gotten so big that he couldn't groom his bottom, and could have used the toilet paper. Bring the Wednesday SJ Mercury news ad in -yes some of us still subscribe to newspapers! I don't get my cat litter here any more. They sell the 40 lb bag clumping litter for $9.50. However it is non scented, and bending down is hard enough cleaning up cat poop, without inhaling. I get the 38 lb scented cat litter for $9 at Costco, and use the container for recycling bath water - I take a bath after the wife. Don't want to faint from fumes right over the cat litter box! Already I've been back to this place three times for various exchanges. No problems, and no stares or glares from the employees. They treat you like a valued customer, not like a criminal, such as at Frys! read more

i want to like this store and patronize them - they have lots of products for all types of pets and they don't sell live animals, which i appreciate. while i was shopping this week, i asked an associate for assistance with an item. she was beyond rude and was clearly bothered by my request (i wanted to know if an item was in stock). maybe she was having a bad day which i understand, but she was so over the top rude and unprofessional. such a bummer to be treated that way in a place that you want to support. hopefully management can help her understand that treating customers with kindness is good for business and just good in general. read more

I've been eagerly waiting for Pet Club to open its Cupertino location ever since the Mt. View location closed. Instead of heading all the way to Blossom Hill in San Jose, I can now head over to Cupertino! :D Located on the Southeast corner of the Homestead Square Shopping Center, the building still looks newly constructed. Inside, the spaces are big, organized, clean, and easy to navigate around. Prices tend to be more affordable than large chain pet stores and online stores but it really depends on what you're getting. I tend to visit on the weekends where there is never any lines at the register. The staff here is also very friendly and helpful. This location is definitely my go-to stop for treats and dental chews for my pup :D read more

BEWARE - Check all expiration dates! This has been our go-to place for all of our dog food and treats. They always have great deals and prices compared to other big name stores. However, we went today to pick up a big bag of Natural Balance dog food and noticed all remaining bags on the shelf expired OVER ONE YEAR ago. We are now worried that we've been giving our dogs expired food (the color of the kibble looked different but we didn't check the bag like we should have). When we told an employee, they said they get new shipments every week... but that sounds questionable to me. Sadly this one incident will keep us from returning. read more

Came out with a monthly coupon of $4 off an item, not including the usual pet food, litter, treats. I had been using this coupon monthly on purchase of pee pads and had had no problems. This past month my use of the coupon was rejected. When I asked why, I was told the coupon could not be used on a discounted item. I asked what the regular price was, also pointing out the pads have always been that price. The manager couldn't even tell me what the "regular" price was supposed to be, but I was still not allowed to use the coupon. I pushed this further, called a Tom Lee at another store and he was supposed to get back to me.....like 2 weeks ago! Their corporate office is even worse, if there is such a place. Ever since I discovered Pet Club a few years ago, I cannot buy anything at other pet stores anymore. Pet Club's prices make other stores seem like a rip off. I have 2 Alaskan Malamutes so I need to buy a lot of food, toys, cookies, and treats. I also feed a gazillion of Yellow Finches, Quails, and squirrels so, without Pet Club's deals, I'd go bankrupt :-) I'd gone to the Mountain View store for a few years until it closed. I'm thrilled that there's one in Cupertino now, a lot less driving for me. Plus, the staff is always friendly and always offers to help you load stuff into the car. read more

I love this store. When the Mountain View location closed a few years ago I was disappointed as Pet Club has the best prices around. They beat any of the major competitors like Petsmart and Petco. The new store is very clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about pet food. It's nice to see friendly faces from the old store. This store seems to be a lot smaller than the old one as well, but so far everything I've looked for, they've had. No pets at this one.
