I've been looking for a vet to trust with my babies for a long time since the last place the doctor retired. This vet office was recommended to me by multiple people who have cats and dogs. I usually try to get appointments with Dr. Britny Thomas because she really is great. She's compassionate, takes care of my cats, and doesn't try to add on anything unnecessary. She talks to me in detail about my cat's health and even answered my kid's questions. She's very patient and was even able to handle the feral kitten i rescued. read more

And the doctor try to con me to believe my dog have MPL leve 2-3 for left leg and level 4 for right leg and charge 5k per leg for surgery. After doing many second opinion check, the left leg is level 1-2 and right leg is 2-3. Even idiot can tell that the dog with level 4 MPL cannot use his leg at all! I would say that if the clinic try to inflate the bill by doing unnecessary check, what else can you trust him? Very dismissive and overall a horrible experience. We were seen by Britny Thomas, and her attitude was extremely negligent honestly, very disrespectful. She made inappropriate comments and even mocked my pet right in front of us, which was completely unacceptable. We called afterward to explain the situation. At that point, I wasn't even concerned about the money or getting a refund I was more upset because the physical exam felt like a complete scam. To make things worse, we were later accused of lying, which was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, I would not recommend this place or being treated by this doctor. Our cat's 2 of 3 blood tests were lost. The one test they didn't lose showed that he had diabetes. We took him in the next day to take blood again. We called after a few days for the new test results but they never got back to us. We had an appt as a follow up after a week of being on the diabetes meds. Guess what they took blood...and we didn't get the results yet again. Dr. Benson was our Vet for over 20 years. Our trust and loyalty has been broken. As I'm writing this review I'm on hold for over 15 minutes. They don't know that I'm calling to cancel and appt because the 2 people that picked up "by mistake" put me back on hold, after I just said hello. We took our boy to a Veterinary hospital in Nassau county just to make sure that meds are working properly. We're done with this practice. read more

ZERO STARS. PLEASE READ!!!! THE WORST PLACE EVER. DO NOT GO TO DOCTOR BRIANNA WARNER. On may 16th i had to euthanize my dog because she had collapsed trachea. I got to the vet and my dogs tongue was purple she wasn't breathing (with collapsed trachea this happens) i run in and i called in advance to have oxygen ready for her so she can be sedated quickly so she doesn't suffer too long. As anyone would, I am crying a lot because of course i'm euthanizing my dog. Doctor Brianna Warner was the absolute worst. She had the worst disgusting attitude I've ever seen, she hates her job and doesn't even like animals. She was in a horrible mood, yelling at all the technicians and snatching things from their hands, then she yelled me ME for crying, saying "IF THIS IS HOW YOURE GONNA ACT WAIT OUTSIDE!!" And she tried to kick me out of the room without my dog!!!!! She had ZERO compassion and was extremely annoyed. I was asking questions, again as anyone would. She would ignore me and the proceeded to tell me "can you not ask anymore questions?" She was screaming at me telling me to stop crying. She kept rolling her eyes and telling the technicians to get me out of the room. My dog clearly felt the horrible energy in the room and she panicked even more, getting more and more purple. At this point I wanted her to just be euthanized as quickly as possible because she was struggling breathing and BRIANNA WARNER wasn't helping. She was so annoyed and in such a bad mood that she completely disappeared, i had to get another doctor to inject my dog with the euthanasia. After my dog passed I was crying which is normal right everyone? Well, Doctor Brianna warner didn't even come to the room at all to say im sorry for your loss or to apologize for the way she acted towards me and my dog. After that, a technician comes in the room and asks me "why are you crying so much why are you screaming??? This is part of life you dont have to scream like this" everyone in this facility made this experience worse of a nightmare than what it already was. I wanted my dog to pass peacefully in good energy, I truly wish I didnt choose this place to euthanize my dog. I have forever guilt. Saying goodbye to my dog didnt go as I planned. Everyone in this facility truly does not love animals at all. Shame on you doctor BRIANNA WARNER and all of the technicians in this place. I was looking for a veterinarian that was open late and the Pet Doctor is the only place that stays open until 7 PM. It's open 6 days a week whereas other vets are open only 3-4 days per week. They don't allow pet parents inside the facility due to covid precautions. When you arrive, you have to call their office phone and someone will come out when it is your turn. The wait time was about 15 minutes since there were 4 other cars parked outside and two families standing at the door. The doctor was fantastic, came out to the car, answered all my questions, and took my pet in for her annual. Staff seemed to be caring and responsive. The fecal parasite exam is $54. DO NOT GO HERE!! This place is full of scam artists! They add things to billing that you never asked for, and then they make it seem like it's your fault. I am done with this place! I will give you three separate scenarios where this place has been terrible: 1. Well after the COVID lockdowns, they told me that I could not come in or come near any of the staff or wait in the waiting room unless I wore a mask. This was in March of 2023!!! 2 years after the lockdowns, and almost a year after the city lifted the mandates for medical facilities! They're living in the past! The staff is also extremely rude!!! They could care less about their customers!! 2. I took my dog here to get his teeth cleaned, they told me they could not give me an estimate to clean his teeth until they did blood work because they needed to give him anesthesia. I asked repeatedly, and they refused to give me the estimate beforehand. Like an idiot, I let them do the blood work. They charged me $250 for the blood work, and then told me the teeth cleaning would be $1,300 on top of that!!!! If they had told me that it was going to cost $1,300 in the first place I would have never gotten the blood work done!! 3. I needed a renewal prescription for my dogs heartworm medicine, and told they couldn't give me the prescription until I made an appointment with the doctor for blood work and a checkup??! They were very rude to me and refused to give me the prescription! I'm not falling for that one again! They are just looking to bill for unnecessary visits blood work, and issues. Last straw, taking my business elsewhere! These people are scam artists. This is fraud and deceptive business practices to the 100th degree! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place! I haven't written a review in a long time, but I feel the need to do so for this practice. Today was my first visit to the Pet Doctor, and I decided to switch over to this vet due to horrible experiences with another local practice (I won't name the other vet office, but we were going to them for quite a long time. Over the last few months, their love and care for animals has unfortunately gone out the window). I decided that I needed to switch for the sake of my fur baby's well being. A colleague of mine recommended the Pet Doctor, so I decided to make the appointment. I worked with Dr. Gatanas and a vet tech named Lourdes. They were both so kind, patient, and informative. My dog Oreo is very nervous, and can be overly loud/anxious when visiting the vet. They made us feel really comfortable and were very patient with him. I was allowed to be in the room for the first half of the appointment, and was asked to wait for him in the waiting area while they conducted further examination. Despite my reluctance (due to previous bad experiences at his old vet) I felt a little nervous, but I can tell that they treated him with such care. He even left the vet looking happier, which I haven't seen in a long time. It made me a bit emotional. I hope to make this practice our permanent one, because Oreo is not getting any younger and I would love for him to be in caring hands. I have been going to Pet Doctor of Flushing since 2019. Today was the first time that I had a bad experience. I was very disappointed. I understand that things can happen, and I am usually pretty understanding about it. They asked the clients to call if they may be more than 5 minutes late. Shouldn't they do the same to inform the clients sitting in the waiting room and waiting long after their appointment times have passed? Today I had a 9:20am appointment with Dr. Benson. I arrived early (9am). Thirty minutes after my appointment time I was still waiting to be seen and no one said anything to me why the delay. I asked the front desk about the delay, and the lady said Dr. Benson might be stuck in traffic. She was going to find out more for me. Ten minutes went by (40 minutes after my appointment time), no update (not a single word). I asked the front desk for an update, and they were unable to provide one. I asked whether any vet on site could see my cat since I was already there. After some minutes, they told me Dr. Koo could see my cat because there was a cancellation. Dr. Koo was great, explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I appreciated that Dr. Koo was able to see my cat. I did not like that the receptionist I dealt with made me feel like they did me a huge favor by having Dr. Koo examined my cat. I had to wait for almost an hour past my appointment time and after I inquired multiple times about the delay and got no good answer. read more

Out for money, not the health of your pets. I have been going to this vet since they merged with Dr Kaye's office. I have noticed quite a few concerning and disheartening things with their practice. 1. They don't keep proper record of my dogs' vaccination history and I have had to come back several times for vaccines that they could have done at the main appointment. This costs me significantly more money than if they actually monitored his records. They also had no clue the dosage of my other dog's meds that he has been on for years.... 2. My dog has been on fluoxetine 5 years and I have never had a vet force me to bring him in for bloodwork (that cost almost $200) just to get a refill on a medication that he was almost out of/can't stop cold turkey 3. I informed them of my dogs severe anxiety and the vet shamed me about being afraid that my dog would bite him when my dog has never bit anyone, but is extremely fearful of sudden movements. Hence the disclaimer to be gentle with him 4. They are now refusing to work with 1800 pet meds for my dogs' prescription, heart worm preventive, and flea and tick preventive. They let my dog run out of his medication and even ignored my urgency for them to just confirm a refill. I had to go to the office, wait on hold outside for 15 minutes and then when I finally spoke to someone they didn't even know what medication he needed or dosage. This is after I called them saying I needed a refill... 5. I decided I needed to buy a refill with them (even though it is much more expensive to buy with them vs 1800 pet meds) and they charged me DOUBLE for a 30 day supply than what it costs for a 100 day supply on their own online pharmacy. Here is the cost breakdown: 1800 pet meds: $18 for 100 pills, Pet Doctor Online Pharmacy: $25 for 100 pills, Pet Doctor In Person Pick Up: $45 for 30 pills Exploitive business who only cares about making a buck read more

A couple took a cat last December to this office claiming to the vet that the cat was dump on the side of the road ... they took the cat to the vet because it was sick ..the vet then treated the cat and sent them home with out scanning the cat to see if it had a microchip ! Long story short the cat had a microchip ! If the vet did there job like every professional vet that cat would have been home with her owner 11 months ago ! .. If it was not me taking the cat from the previous couple who took this poor thing to The Pet Doctor .. she never would found her owner because we took her to a another professional vet in bayside that scanned her ..she had a microchipped and finally reunited her with her owner the next day .. something that the Pet Doctor should of did 11 months ago ! It caused pain to me and her owner because of failure to the Pet Doctor to do their job ! Now understand why your reviews are so horrible ! If I was the owner I would sue ! read more

I couldn't go inside the clinic because of the Covid-19, but the receptionist was very friendly, greeted me, and took my dog, Buddy. Soon, Doctor Benson called me and asked me anything wrong with Buddy, and he called me again after checking with Buddy. He spent 15 minutes with me on the phone explaining the details about what's wrong with Buddy. He is very knowledgeable. The truth of the matter is . just one of thee many types like plumbing and gas stations and construction that we will always be getting jerked. The real question is are they jerking u with respect and what level! With that said, I brought my beloved Lily. A 3 pound Yorkie that was my daughter, my best friend, partner in crime n much more.. She was already deceased and passed away in my arms at home. The truth is you could find refills of medicine prescriptions for your dog online. buy it from Canada or Europe to have it sent to your house. Getting overcharged by vets for medication and all that other stuff is inevitable .but it's messed up when they jack it up and really go excessive for no reason. Well I decided Lily Was going to get cremated. She was 14 years old suddenly within a day out of nowhere she passed away. Out of all the crematories, this place at least gives you her paw prints in a molded cast and you know the ashes and all that depressing stuff for aroubd $230 , most others just give ashes in the box. My dog had a procedure done in January fully paid then in April she had another done they gave me an estimate of 1400 so the day of the surgery I go to pay and they tacked on 350 more I didn't have it so I told them I'd pay when I can. 10 days later they see my dog for a check up so I pay another 100 that leaves 250. I totally had family issues and totally forgot about the 250 never got a call from pet doctor instead I get a call from a collection agency saying they are taking me to court the collection agency is saying I owe the 250.00 plus another 270.00 where that is coming from is crazy I just called pet doctor and they told me 250 and can't help till Tues.... Now in their recording they say they are such caring doctors but from what I can tell all they care about is money!!! Profits before pets. I had brought my dog in for a second opinion as he was on medication and I was told by my previous vet that blood work needed to be done. When I relayed what the previous vet said, this one said it's not true and the medication is totally safe to take. After refilling the prescription several times through Chewy, now this vet said I needed $300+ blood work to make sure it's not having an affect on his liver. The vet totally contradicted himself cause they didn't make money off of me in a while. AVOID! read more

Thanks to a recommendation, my puppy and I had many a successful and pleasant visits to see either Dr Mucera or Dr Benson; mainly Dr Mucera. Dr Mucera has the friendliest and brightest of personalities, it was always a pleasure to see him. The staff has been attentive, compassionate and always provided my Shih Tzu, Corona aka KK Lil' Pup with the best possible care. The clinic is clean, organized and very well managed. Appointment times were for the most part generally prompt with the occasional minimal wait time. Parking within the area is metered, so give yourself about an hour to cover the appointment and consult, as meter maids are always scouring to give tickets. The price point is as you can expect with any veterinarian, but has been well worth it for my pup pup in the past. I've tried taking her to other clinics that were within the same price range but those places did not offer the same 'bedside manner' and service as the Pet Doctor of Flushing, so this vet receives high marks in my book. read more

I purchased a puppy at Vanity pups They work with this vet My puppy came home with a stomach virus and was coughing , The first night she was shaking and really sick Her cough stopped , now she sounded like she has asthma !! This review is for the wonderful woman that works at the front desk. (I missed her name unfortunately!) My dog had been whimpering and whining the past 2 days. By this time, he was starting to bark and growl when touched. I called 4 vets around the neighborhood and all were (understandably) fully booked for the day. The woman at The Pet Doctor seemed genuinely concerned that my dog was in pain and even though they were also fully booked, she tried to see how to fit me in for that day. She was the only one to offer to call me back if there was a cancellation. One place suggested I try other vets around the area. Another just said they were fully booked for the next 2 weeks. Thanks to her, The Pet Doctor was able to see my dog later that afternoon and get him much needed relief! In less than 24 hours, my dog seems much better, more like his usual happy self. I'm so grateful that we did not have to wait until next day (earliest I could make an appointment previously) to get my dog checked out. It's so heartbreaking to see your dog whimpering and crying and not know why. Dr. Mucera was very friendly. He stepped out of the office to explain what was wrong with my dog, what caused it, and next steps with medication. Very satisfied with our visit to The Pet Doctor! read more

The front desk service here is downright terrible. At the first check up, the lady told my mom it was going to be $520. Then, in the morning when we went to drop off my cat, she said it was $510. When my mom picked up my cat that afternoon, she charged her $560. My mom doesn't speak any English and she's an older, smaller Asian woman. She called me after she received the bill, and she didn't understand why the price increased so much in the span of a few hours. The front desk service wasn't clear either- they were quite nasty and would not give a good reason on why they just increased the price without calling to let us know beforehand. There were definitely some extra costs that were unnecessary that this clinic just added on. We were recommended to this clinic by a close friend- this is quite a disappointment. read more

Operating with archaic medical practices, outdated approaches to treatment, with the 'one size fits all,' and perhaps, worst of all arrogance. I have been seeing Dr k. at his practice for years. I brought my dog to see him at this office for allergies and eye irritation. About a week and a half later my other dog mysteriously ended up with kennel cough. When i called the office and spoke to the manager she insisted that there was no way my dog could have gotten it from them. My dogs are isolated and not around other animals. They use the bathroom in my yard which is fenced in with absolutely no access to the world. Instead of the office manager taking some sort of responsibility for this situation she INSISTED that there was no way my dog could have gotten it from their office. I am a nurse and my best friend is a vet tech so we are well aware of how the spread of kennel cough works. Then they tried to tell me that I will be responsible for the bill if i bring my dog for a check up. Had she told me that yes lets try to figure this out and we will work it out.
