Thank you hoomans at Pet Food Express

What great service, love for pets, compassion for pet owners. The workers here are absolutely wonderful, and you can see that they care about the service they provide. GIVE THEM ALL A RAISE! lol. I came here a couple days before I was potentially adopting a puppy. One of things I needed to bring was a temporary dog tag with contact phone. I had asked an associate if I can just get a tag with the phone number, because I may want to change my potential puppy's name which seemed like it fine. I came back a week later after deciding to keep the puppy's name. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to add the name to the tag since it's 1 sided. So they made me a new one free of charge. I was totally willing to pay for the new tag, but they insisted. We chatted for a bit and my new pup "Yam" got a couple treats and a couple more for the road. So nice of them! I'm a customer for life!

Came in here looking for some joint supplements and was greeted right away by the very friendly and helpful cashier (unfortunately did not get her name but she checked me out at 12:26 pm, she had red hair). I did not know what supplements to get for my dog and she was very knowledgeable on a lot of the products and helped me pick a supplement. I appreciate the quality service that was provided. Will be back :) !

In general, I love Pet Food Express as they offer raw food, lots of treats, dog wash, and best of all, friendly, knowledgable staff who are willing to see if you need help and give advice...Never been to PFExpress i didn't like....well, the San Carlos one, had some issues but that is now closed....very telling. I came to this location as my pups have a poster in the store representing the rescue: Adopt a Doggie, Castro Valley....ah yes, my 'celebrity' doggies located above the stroller section! haha YAY! Great selection of foods, leashes, toys, etc and adoption events...will definitely return. Please consider adopting/rescuing a pet as there are plenty who need forever homes! :)

At least this store, someone helped me in the past. I bought a cat tree here as well. The price was clearance since I adopted a cat for the first time a few days ago. Javier the manager was very helpful today for me. It made my day even better. I didnt catch the cashier lady name. She was nice as well. She helped me look at the cat tree that if it can hold a 13 lb cat, it can hold upto 40 lbs. Overall, a good experience here.

I booked with Dani because I'm comfortable with her for my nervous large dog but she wasn't the groomer that worked on my dog. What's the whole point to requesting the groomer you want then?!? The groomer Sarita was patient and sweet with my senior small dog but didn't shave down the fur in her paw pads. My senior dog gets so nervous sometimes she poops which is unfortunately her MO. Since she is nearly 17 and unsteady she needs that fur trimmed back so she isn't slipping as much. I did notice some scooting after her appointment so I really do hope her glands were cleaned out during her appointment so they don't burst. When I booked for my large dog the app said it would be $101 for the large dog but at checkout it ran up $123. And my small dog went from $69 to $75. I understand holiday pricing but I expect that to be upfront and not last minute and forced to pay get your pets back. Do better PetSmart. Updated: minus another star as both my dogs paw pads weren't trimmed.

The individualized attention to your pet is truly unbelievable. Detailed personalized reports, video tutorials for your pet and starring your pet, thorough pre-briefing and de-briefing with every session. I want to add creativity and determination. Lots of people think they have a stubborn dog, but Andrea let me know my dog truly was a grand prize winner. Elfie went on strike multiple times during every session, but she met her match in Andrea who never gave up figuring out ways to get Elfie to use that right forelimb. She even put a hair scrunchie on Elfie's snout so she would instinctively bat it off to work that range of motion. And instead of being frustrated by my stubborn dog, Andrea just loved her all the more for it. In spite of Elfie's resistance, she always walked a little more each week. And now, several months after Elfie graduated from PT, she is racing around like a puppy, going on longer walks and playing with more joyfulness than before her injury and surgery ever happened. For that matter, I should mention Elfie was referred by Lenity just next door, where Dr. Carlson performed the surgery on Elfie's shoulder. It was so convenient to have that partnership between the two. Thanks so much to Scout's House for everything!

Each dog has a session on their own with no other animals present, and it's incredible how the staff motivate your pet to do the exercises. We went once a week for 6 weeks after surgery, then did a few more sessions once every other week, with daily PT sessions at home. The entire team here were so kind and knowledgeable and they kept the surgery team (at Lenity, also fabulous) updated on my dog's progress. Sessions were $149 after an initial consultation which I believe was $249. I could not recommend them more highly!

If you decide to buy anything, you also have all the items available to set up a tank for the first time or just stock up on some supplies if you already have an existing set up. The prices here were very competitive, there were exhibit deals happening all around. Reptile Realms (aka the San Jose Reptile Show), for the last two years has been unable to hold the event at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds (as they did annually pre-covid). So they expanded to holding the expo at the San Mateo County Event Center for 2022. Basically there are LOTS of reptile displays, with most of the creatures for sale, and all of them for show. We found mostly snakes, all kinds of sizes, some with very unique patterns, vendors willing to share plenty of knowledge and info about the species, and even some snakes visitors could hold (for free). Besides snakes, there were roaches, crickets, tarantulas, shaved mice, lizards, geckos, chameleons, bearded dragons, tortoises, and some species I can't even name. I realize not all were reptiles, but there was also reptile "food" for sale, and other creatures. And you could get up close and personal with these animals, it was so cool. They also sold clever animal T-shirts and hats, toys (lots of snake themed, but also random stuff like unicorn horns), habitats, plants, and food (for reptiles and for humans). The event took place mainly in a giant hall, so it felt spacious even with the crowds. There were no lines and no wait to enter. And there was plenty of parking (with a $15 fee which was more expensive than the admissions ticket). Some of the reptiles are just sooo cute, especially those baby tortoises, this is a great place to find a new pet. But not for me... my bunnies wouldn't like that.

The groomer 1) did not follow directions, 2) charged me more than what was quoted, and 3) insisted I pay in cash or check. First, I asked the groomer not to cut my dogs' hair. When I got there to pick them up, I saw she cut both of them and it was super choppy. :( Second, when I called to make an appt, I was quoted $70-90 since my dogs are 5 and 6 lbs respectively. When I checked out, she said my dogs would be $120/each. Nowhere on the price list does it say $120, by the way. I said I didn't ask to get them cut, she said it was a touch up and she said they are medium size dogs. I'm like what? She pointed to the sign and said it's because they are over 12". I'm like huh? It's a 5lbs dog, but either way, I was quoted $70-90. She said she could do $110/each. At that point, I didn't want to argue about how small my dogs are, but I know they are not over 12". Then, when it came to payment, she said the credit card machine wasn't working, so I had to pay in cash or check. Who carries checks or cash nowadays? I asked if they take Zelle or Venmo, and she said no. Ultimately, I went to the ATM to get her the cash, but I walked away thinking-- what kind of establishment is this that doesn't have transparent pricing, quotes me one thing and demands another, and doesn't take any forms of digital payment? A part of me thought she was just going to pocket the cash. ‍ At the end of the day, it's not the price-- like I'd rather the establishment just say upfront that it's $120 and $30 is for gratuity if that's the case... at least I know what I'm getting.
