Wanted to love this place. It was my first time ever visiting and was aggressively trying to find a great litter thats safe for my cat to be exposed to when using in a litter enclosure box. So I'm concerned for her experience, long term health and safety. I recognize my previous clay litter is extremely dusty. And so was searching for a Great litter alternative. I wanted to ask more questions and have a discussion about not only the one i was planning to purchase, but also get their perspective of the other products at their store. However, it seem the person I happen to talk to, didnt want to have a discussion. That person gave Very short statements or one word reply. Again, I, whose concerned about my cats well-being wanted a discussion about the stores products. Also upon further investigation, Im concerned that my clay litter was the cause of my cats eye irritation and possibly also my breathing difficulties (when deep cleaning the litter area airway would narrow causing difficulty to breathe).---so yes. I wanted to talk. I felt like a task the worker needed to be done with to just move on....the first worker who welcomed me there was very sweet, but the other one I ended up buying my litter from n had further interactions with was the problem. A perfect one stop shop for my puppy princess. Dylan needs a new bed so it's time to give this store a visit and review. I take good care of my princess and only shop for the best quality pet food and products no exceptions. This is a nice store and the staff are friendly without being pushy I ask where they stock the beds and I'm on my way. They have sooo many nice plush beds to chose from and I chose a large comfy fluff bed for Dylan She loves it and jumped right in as soon as I put it onto the floor the bed is very sturdy and at $39.99 it's a great price. Similar beds and not nearly as plush at petco are priced $89.00 and up I'm so glad I shopped around. Selection They have very unique items of clothing for pets very nice sweaters raincoats and boots barrettes hats for the season and sooo much more all moderately priced. I found the cutest poncho and my baby will look adorable in it but I did notice the clothing sizes run a bit larger, I bought Medium but she might need size small she's fluffy right now but when her fur is trimmed she's not as large. This store is relatively new its clean well stocked and has quite the variety of goods, they a nice selection of pet foods from natural to regular and heathy treats too. They have amazing and well crafted strollers in the store and that's a plus because I bought Dylan's present stroller online and she will need another in a few months. I take her everywhere in her stroller and it's lasted almost two years but it's starting to show wear and tear. Perks Miss Dylan has her nails trimmed at the vet and this store offers grooming and vet care too it's truly a one stop shop for medical care as well. I cook Dylan's food and have to give her vitamins and from what I can see here they have gummy and chew vitamins perfect for the fussy pet to enjoy. So far everything is coming up Rosie in this little pet paradise and I can't wait for the summer dresses to arrive so I can add to my baby's wardrobe. Tried the self wash station for my poodle for the first time and $18 only give you 25 mins for wash AND dry. Honestly I wouldn't do it again. My poodle has a shorter coat not more than 3/4cc and I couldn't get her even close to dry. As a groomer I thought the self wash would be a bit easier on my off days but clearly not. I wouldn't recommend if you have a longer coated dog anything from husky's labs with thick coats or even drop coats such as Maltese or any poodle mix. It's simply not enough time to dry them off which can lead to matting. Cool idea but I ask asked if I can just have more time to dry her off and the cashier said I'd have to pay an extra $18 basically a whole other service to get more time. Which at that point I would have just gotten her groomed at my shop. I wouldn't recommend for anything other than short coats like pits or thin coated dogs. read more

On more than one occasion I noticed that the service was not the same and shrugged it off as an employee not being trained or having a bad day. This place is next to my Trader Joe's so it would be so easy to just run in and get an item but the idea of going in and having to deal with inexperienced people makes me cringe. Once when I was giving my dog a bath I was struggling so bad that the dog got loose. Two people behind the counter and no one offered to help me catch him. They just told me it's not allowed. As if I let him go on purpose. There was an employee, can't remember her name, but I would coordinate my trips w her schedule because she was so knowledgeable. Seems like the people they have there now are no different than Target. They are just there to process your purchase. Now I buy everything at chewy.com. They have the best customer service, delivery and return policy. We all spend a lot of money on our pets. I shop where there is good customer service. I came here to get new food for my 7 yr old dog who was sleeping all day, and had been recently having severe skin allergies. I had a great experience here. Pam suggested a certain fish oil that was guaranteed to do the trick. I left with new food and fish oil, but still hopeless. Three days have passed, and my dog's scratching has diminished by at least 60%. I am shocked! Also, my dog keeps following me around the house like she used to when she was younger because she has energy again. She loves mealtime now, and eats every morsel. My absolute go to place for all of my pet needs, wants and extras. The entire staff is knowledgeable. It's clear they are pet lovers. I personally rely on Charlie and Pam for everything from nutrition, to teething and anything related to my baby. I thank them every time i go there, which is weekly. My pups are healthy and have amazing coats because of their advise. My little girl and grandpuppy are so lucky that we found them. Our vet and pup trainer think very highly of the Pet Food Express as well. They probably have what you're looking for and even what you aren't looking for. Oh and I haven't even mentioned the bath stations.... LOVE!!! The stations are always clean. Other self serve stations have pumping shampoo bottles. Not this place. The shampoo comes out with the water. LOVE!!! I know i could take my baby to a groomer, but we have the best bonding experience. I bring my grandbaby, puppy and grandpuppy for a bubble party there. This store is only about 5 minnutes from my house, so I started going to it for that reason and because it is next to the Trader Joe's I go to. This is a fairly new location. I believe it opened around 2016. It has turned into my main pet food store for a few reasons. The staff is all really nice and knowledgable -- It almost has a local business feel compared to the two big chains I normally think of. They have a really big selection of dog foods, and the prices are better than any other store I have found. From what they have told me, they do not stock low quality pet food like Pedigree or Purina, but I have never spent significantly more per pound then I would on those cheap brands.. I have a 5 year old Siberian Husky, with a lot of energy. When I started going here I switched to the brand Diamond Naturals, which is much cheaper than, but apparently the same nutritionnal quality as Blue Buffalo (which is apparently not as high quality as they market it to be). I had been talking to their employees the past few times about upgrading my dog food to one that is better quality, but is not way too expensive like the super high end brands. This time on reccomendation, I ended up going with a brand called Fromm - Pork and Applesauce formula. My dog seems to like it. Check this out though... they have a coupon they gave me that let me get 50% off one of the small, 6 lb bags of any new dog food (as long as it's better than your current), and if my pooch likes it, I can use the coupon again to get 25% off the big bag. And if the dog doesn't like it after opening it, 100% money back guarantee. Not bad! read more

Came in today looking for a place to give my companion a good bath. Right when I walked in the sales associate was welcoming and so great with answering all my questions. She even guided me through using the self washing station as it was my first time there. Ended up buying a few essentials (dog food, treats and new flea collar). Spent $15 for the bath (gives you about 25 mins) which was plenty of time to bathe and dry my pup. I have only been here once - the reason I came is because I buy certain brands you can't get in the run of the mill pet stores (petco, petsmart, etc), so I knew these guys would have it, & they did! I really liked how the treats were sectioned off with one area being just dehydrated meats. I was impressed! My pup Paolo frequents this place and Pam is his best friend! I don't know how she knows everything but she does! Ashley is great, too. The night we adopted our pup we hadn't gotten anything for our new baby yet. We looked pretty desperate trying to get in before closing time to give Paolo a bath (oh, did I mention he was infested with fleas?!). Thank goodness that they decided to let us stay a little while after closing so that he would have a proper bath! Pet Food Express has an excellent opportunity for washing your dog however they have fallen short of their target. They finally reopened the stations. There are several stations which is nice. Not just 2 or 3. One is even on the ground for large dogs. My criticisms are 2 fold. 1.they raised their price to $18 and still only give you 25 minutes which includes scrubbing your dog. The water is off, the dryer is off and all you are doing is scrubbing the shampoo into your dogs fur while the counter is still counting down your time. I have a small dog with long fur. I bring my own shampoo (as did several other customers when I was there) . It takes me 2-3 minutes to scrub the soap in his fur, rinse a little, and rescrub. By the time he is fully rinsed I had 15 minutes left to dry him. I concentrated my efforts on the areas of his harness and we left, again, with him half wet. I cannot use this service in the colder weather. I would like more time on the counter , 30 minutes instead of 25, or the ability to turn off the timer when I'm not using the water or air. 2. When there is 1 minute left on the timer a loud beeping starts, like a big truck backing up and my dog was petrified. He is afraid of certain noises,:fireworks, trucks backing up with loud beeping, etc. I don't think the volume is necessary especially since many dogs are fearful of noises and the entire experience in general. Why make it worse? I would like the volume adjusted or the noise changed to something more pleasant--a better ring tone, if you will, or just eliminated. read more

Given this place 3 stars due to my recent visit. July 11, 2021 I recently bought a puppy and have been going to this store once a week to buy dog food, treats, supplies, and to visit their vet. Every staff I encountered (until July 11) has been nice and really helpful. On July 11, 2021, I went to Pet Food Express to purchase dog food and to ask questions about trying to order dog food online and using a discount code that appears on the website. The lady (who was super sweet) at the register couldn't answer my questions because she didn't know how to work the site called for another staff to help. A tall slender male came to the register and the female staff stated that I had a question about the site. Before she could finish speaking, he started rudely uttering off some numbers. I asked him was that a discount code and he said no and stated the same numbers again. I asked what are the numbers he is repeating and he rudely started, "the online contact number. We have nothing to do with the site" he started a few other things rudely and walked off. The female staff repeatedly apologized for the situation. read more

Update: I stop in here occasionally because it's convenient, but the sales folks are a little too pushy for my taste so I've really backed off on shopping here. I hate to say it, but it's the older workers who really try to upsell. The young ladies have always been helpful and friendly. I'll keep trying it because I was really glad they came to our neighborhood, and I like that they support Rescues, but the overbearingness and hovering is wearing thin. read more
