My baby had cancerous tumor removed at Pet Life. A "Tech" removed the first round of stitches, even though stated it might be too early. The Vet never checked. Wound opened up completely. Extreme lack of follow up. Had to have the surgery again to close the wound back up. Second time again, a "tech" was going to remove the stitches. I refused. Last follow up I requested for a refill went unanswered. Better off doing the surgery at home with a butter knife and duct tape. read more

Had an amazing experience with Pet Life! A few days after adopting 2 puppies from our friend's litter we realized one of the puppies had stopped eating and drinking. We brought our girls in and they both tested positive for parvo. The vet and the entire staff were positive and helpful with an aggressive plan of attack to save our girls and keep them from being hospitalized. We also contacted our friends who had brought the dad in 2 days earlier to a different vet that had misdiagnosed him as having an obstruction and would need to likely be put down--we urged them to test for parvo and follow our same plan of treatment. Our two puppies, 4 other puppies from the litter, and two adult dogs made a FULL RECOVERY because of the care plan from Pet Life. Forever grateful for the love, care, and consideration that saved the lives of 8 fur babies. read more

Dr. Took a special interest in our Frenchy, MiMi. Due to the quality of care, Mi Mi lived for another 1.5 years longer before Mi Mi's cancer took over and we finally had to put her down. I'm writing this today after saying goodbye to our precious family dog Arthur a yellow labrador, whom we have had for over 13 years. Arthur had a few issues going on and when it became evident that the meds prescribed weren't going to improve his quality of life. We decided that the correct thing to do was to say goodbye. His arthritis and anemia had gotten into his legs so much he kept falling constantly. The staff could not have been any nicer and Arthur easily drifted into sleep after a sedative so much that he was snoring loudly. DR Notario then entered the room and administered the lethal dose. Arthur did not feel a thing and it was a very humane way for him to go. There is no easy way to do this and we as a family are devastated, he is gone we will never see or hug him again and are going to miss Arthur so much. Anyway 10/10 to Pet life for making this as stress free as possible. We are going to grieve his passing for a while but when we do decide we are ready for another dog, we for sure will let Pet-Life be his/her vets. read more

From my initial phone call to them from exiting the clinic.. everyone was EXTREMELY compassionate. I had to have my senior citizen cat euthanized and I was struggling with the timing. I called them on a Wednesday to get some information from them and the girl on the phone went from jovial to sympathetic to my situation . She gave me the answers I was seeking and I told her I would let her know. The next morning, I knew it was time. I called them back and although their schedule was booked, they accommodated us. We were worked into the schedule and once we arrived we didnt have to sit in the waiting room at all, which I was grateful for because the room is rather small and there was a large dog present. We were whisked back into a room where there was a very cozy blanket waiting for the 'patient'. Things were explained to me gently and I was given options. There were a total of 3 employees that interacted with us from that point and each one was amazingly kind to my cat and to my family. We were not rushed in anyway and they even offered an alternate exit so we didnt have to go back through the clinic in tears carrying our empty kennel. (totally appreciated) Making this decision and having to carry it out is one of the HARDEST things to endure emotionally in life. If you are facing this .. THIS IS THE VET YOU WANT TO GO WITH. I called our vet's office first and the receptionist's tone and word choice soured me and I will NEVER go back to ACADEMY WEST. PET LIFE is far superior and I want to thank them. read more

I have owned cats and dogs for over 50 years, so I've had a significant amount of experience with vets, and Dr. Notario at Pet Life Vet Clinic is the best vet I have ever brought my babies to. The staff are always caring and professional, and Dr. Notario is extremely knowledgeable. I have an insanely aggressive Chihuahua when he goes to the vet, and Dr. Notario handles him like a pro. My mom and I recommend Pet Life to all our friends. We lost our baby Belvedere due to the negligence of this "vet" Fernando Notario Britez and this office. Our 12 year old calico Belvedere has been going to this office since they opened. We always had great luck with the staff and it was always a positive experience. In September 2023, we took her in due to some concerns during the previous month or so with what we felt was excessive weight loss, a change in the appearance of her coat, and occasional vomiting of white foam. Once we expressed our concerns, the "vet" did a blood test on her and the results of the test supposedly indicated everything was pretty much normal for a cat of her age. We had no reason to question or doubt what we were told, as she was always a small cat her entire life. Fast forward to 2/1/2024, Belvedere had an impacted anal gland, something she had many times before as she had anal gland issues for roughly 2-3 years prior, and we took her to this office. They were able to fit us in for an afternoon appointment. The "tech" that saw Belvedere took our girl out of the room for literally less than 5 minutes, only to return and tell us she "can't express the gland" and was sending us home with antibiotics and pain medication. We requested to speak with the vet and get a second opinion. She immediately became upset and frustrated, and notified the vet. Once the vet came in, he didn't lay a finger on Belvedere, and stated "the antibiotics should take care of it". The morning of Friday 2/2/2024, she stopped eating and we decided to take her to an emergency vet. They immediately took her back, sedated her, lanced the gland, and sent us home with more antibiotics, which was the normal approach regarding her impacted glands. She came home the morning of 2/3 and we immediately noticed something wasn't right, as she stopped eating and drinking, appeared disoriented, and refused to move around. We took her back to the emergency vet on 2/5 per their recommendation and they ran a full blood test on her, discovering she had hyperthyroidism and was in a thyroid storm. The emergency vet obtained and reviewed the results of the blood test that was performed by Pet Life in 9/2023, and were completely shocked to find there were no tests done regarding her thyroid function, especially considering her age. She was severely dehydrated, her thyroid numbers were off the charts, her liver panel was extremely elevated, as were her kidney numbers. Over the course of the next 48 hours, her condition had deteriorated to the point that despite bringing her thyroid back to normal, and an aggressive approach to bring all of her other numbers back into an acceptable range, she ultimately got to the point where there was nothing more they could do without some very risky tests and procedures. We got a call on 2/7/2024 stating the next test they would have to do, we would have a 90% probability of losing her. We returned the evening of 2/7/2024, and made the horrible decision to let her go, as we felt she had been through enough, and couldn't bear to put her through any more suffering. My little baby girl passed in my arms at 8:06pm. I believe this "doctor" Fernando Notario Britez, as well as his staff at Pet Life were negligent, dismissive, and did not take the proper approach to diagnosing our baby, and the staff was extremely unprofessional to say the least. We immediately filed a report with the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board, as this needs to be known and documented. This vet, as well as any other, should take the appropriate and additional steps or at least recommend them when diagnosing and treating an older pet. We lost a dear member of the family due to the negligence of this office, and she would still be here today if she was properly diagnosed and treated when she was seen in 9/2023. read more

Awesome! We really recommend this clinic, the service was amazing, prompt, and very thorough. We were greeted kindly when we first walked in. They treated our dogs with the upmost care as if they were there own dogs. Honestly if I could give this place negative stars I would. First time client and was referred here by my boyfriend the beginning of appointment was nice lady up front was welcoming and the technician who brought my pup and I back was also nice. Once the doctor came in we started talking about my dogs symptoms and everything that was wrong with him he was completely rude and basically called me a liar about his symptoms and where I thought they were coming from. All I wanted was help for my pup who is constantly itching and breaking out in a rash or hives and I also wanted a lump check out that had been growing for over a month. I called today and got in immediately. This clinic opened in February and already are up and running and fully staffed. It says something when the doctor was able to bring on people he had previously worked with who complement him. Equally the fact that he wanted to work with his people again say something about him. I'd read positive reviews about this clinic and decided to give them a try when I was recently switching vets for my Shiba Inu. Nikko is a strong active Shiba Inu male who is excessively fearful of a number of things, including vets. He is not aggressive but can be a handful when frightened. I explained the issues when I made the appointment for an updated vaccine shot. A caring staff member met us at my car and escorted us thru a side door to an exam room to avoid him getting excited going into the waiting room with other dogs... The doctor was very understanding and gentle as were his staff members that interacted with us. They understood the Shiba Inu breed so weren't surprised when I told them he would probably do the "Shiba scream" when being examined and handled. The shot was handled quickly and with a minimum of drama. We had a second appointment the next day to finish the course of vaccinations and had quick caring treatment. Nikko again displayed little of the fear he usually does. Not only was the care good, the prices were very reasonable. read more
