I put my dog in at this place for 3 nights for the 1st time. After having great success at Fantasia Pet Resort. Upon picking him up the front desk person handed him to me as if everything was OK! I noticed he was limping and bleeding immediately. According to the emergency vet he may had gotten bit by another dog there and the person returning him to me didn't even notice! I suspect that they do not keep a very good watch on their guests. Not only did I need to go to considerable expense for his medical care but a week later I had to take him back to his vet for a re-check because he was not healing very well. I spoke with the owner who only commented that you never know when this can happen. And that she will not even consider helping me out with the almost $500 dollar expense. I would NOT ever recommend trusting your dogs at this place and will never recommend them. I live in a high rise with many dogs and I am connected to the HOA. They will hear about it. read more

We left our pug because my girlfriend and I went to the east coast for about 10 days. About half way through our trip they called and said that he wasn't eating and he was shivering. They talked about taking him to the emergency vet pretty early in the conversation. We asked them to monitor him and to see if he would eat later on in the day. After about 40 minutes they called back and made it sound like he had gotten worst in that time. We decided to let them take our pug to the emergency vet. This vet made it sound like there could be an obstruction and the longer we wait to get it out, the worst it could get. THEY OPENED HIM UP AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. MY DOG HAD AN UNNECESSARY SURGERY. I don't think the people at pet play house wanted to take the time to monitor our dog. They definitely ruined our trip and got my dog opened up for nothing. Oh yeah, the surgery cost us $6000 and the aftercare was incredibly difficult to deal with. Go somewhere else read more

I was really looking forward to having my dog stay here as they offered so many great amenities but the day before checkin they called saying she needed another vaccine even though my dogs Vet said she was covered. They would not refund my deposit ($50!) and the staff I talked to were very brusque and not at all helpful. Needless to say, I will never again try this place. read more

My dogs were there from December 26, 2019 through January 2, 2020. After we picked them up, we noticed that they were both scratching alot. After a visit to the Vet, we found out that both are infested with Sucking Lice. I was told that transmission must be through direct contact with another infested animal. My dogs have not had any contact with any other dogs since they were picked up from Pet Playhouse. When I called them to inform them, I was told that they hadn't had any cases. I find this very difficult to believe. The girl I spoke to didn't seem a bit concerned with what I told her and all I got was a, "sorry about that." I will never take my dogs here again and I will make sure I tell everyone I know of my experience here. My dogs are 11 and 12-year old Yorkies. They are well taken care of and have never had lice, fleas or anything else. I was forced to select a star, otherwise I wouldn't have. read more

Terrible customer service. Made an appointment for my dogs to get an evaluation. I called to confirm and it didn't exist. Very monotone and little help to navigate through the website. Finally made the appointment. They wouldn't take SPCA vaccine papers. Talked to me about responsibilities of my dogs at the camp. Fully understood but she kept trying to talk to me about it as if I didn't. I'm sticking with my original camp for my do. I'd rather drive an extra 15 minutes and pay more than deal with the people at this place. You can drive all over this town and look into all, the other boarding options you have for your pet but you will decide on this one! I did just that. My daughter assured me this was the best but I had to look at all the others. A wasted day as the others do not compare in any way! My 11 lb dog stays in a Condo as she is spoiled. The suite accommodation is equally fine. The premises have extra entry doors for your pet's safety. The staff are very caring and when I call to see how she is doing, I do not get a programmed response but rather a specific and very personal report on my pet! We are getting ready for a small trip and so have booked again, this for the third or fourth time.Do make a reservation way ahead of time as dates sell out. Always a very positive experience. Your dog has the choice of being with other dogs during the day or 'private' which means that playtime is with a staff member, one on one. Nice to remember, you can schedule a very reasonable nail trimming and or a shampoo during the stay. Highly recommend this facility on all levels! read more

I've never brought my dog to day care or boarded him over night before bringing him here. I was very nervous dropping him off for his first day of day care. Everything went amazing and now he's stayed over night multiple times and goes to day care about twice a month. He gets so excited as soon as we pull into the parking lot and drags us to the door. Every time we walk in we hear "Aw, Zero is here!" The staff is amazing and Zero obviously loves them. I'm so happy that he has a safe place to go and hang out with other dogs and great people. read more

I absolutely love the Pet Playhouse! I bring my dog there a couple times a week and she loves it, too. She normally gets to my car in the morning before I do and gets excited because she know where she's going. The staff is super friendly and it's nice to know my dog is in good hands. They're great because they're open 6:30am - 6:00pm so they're flexible for when I have to drop her off anytime In the morning before I go to or get off of work. Each pick up they give you a sheet of paper to say how her day went and it's nice to know what she did all day. The best part is my dog is worn out at the end of the day. After reading my posting, the owner called me, and offered to refund my deposit for the future boarding I would not be using. Initially, I thought, 'OK, maybe I misjudged her attitude...", but rather than leaving it at 'Sorry you were unhappy, let me offer your deposit back', she felt compelled to "correct" my review, and had I allowed it, no doubt she would have gone through my review in detail! Wow... talk about missing the point! Then to go so far as to debate with a customer... unbelievable. Her first statement was that the noon check in rule was not for their convenience, but "for the safety of the dogs". Huh? Dogs arriving and departing at the same time construes a safety hazard? Does that mean other facilities that ARE able to do so are acting without concern for animal safety? I will hand it to PPH - it's a brilliant excuse - especially when delivered in a 'you don't really understand what you're talking about' tone of voice. To disagree makes you sound like you're willing to endanger other dogs and people. Unfortunately, the ONLY reason it would be contrary to safety is if they do not have adequate staff to handle potential volume, and again, that is for the convenience of their business - not the customers. I was so astounded that a business owner would have the audacity to argue with a customer, I informed her that I was not prepared to take the time to debate my Yelp posting with her. Change my opinion from probably won't go back to not a chance in the world. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and hire a pet sitter. read more

I've been bringing my dachshund here for Day Care for the last few weeks. The staff is very friendly (if seemingly a bit overworked!) and quickly knew my dog by name. They have a small dog area and a huge big dog area. All the pups seem very content, as do their owners. When I bring my dog home, he never smells and is never dirty (something I worried about absed upon my experiences at other places). All-in-all, a great place! I haven't done boarding, but have taken the tour. They offer three precious options: suites, rooms or "slumber party." I'll update after I do boarding, but I'm sure he'll love that too. read more

When it comes to my best bud, I'm not likely to cut any corners. My goal is that she's happy, healthy, and stops tracking poop in the house. I found Pet Play House while looking for new daycare options closer to Renown, and I'm really glad that I did. She's only been there for daycare, so I'll have to update once she's stayed the night there (currently the in-laws serve as our local pet boarding facility). Katie's a 70-pound Greyhound who loves people and thinks other dogs are just "meh." She's not going to really go out of her way to play with them, and if they jump on her she's likely to growl. She prefers to wander by herself, sniff, and find where the humans are hiding. We have to drag her out of daycare here. She runs from the car to the door, and at the end of the day it's like we are separating her from her best friend. They take really good care of her, and it's a really nice environment where she has access to the outside at all times as well as having a nice warm place to snuggle. Everyone has always been really nice and easy to work with, so it's good for the humans as well. My only suggestion is that they have a stack of dog wipes on the counter so you can wipe your pup down at the end of the day. After a week of day care, Katie stank! She doesn't usually smell much, so I have to assume it's constantly being surrounded by other pets. Not a negative, just a suggestion. In reading some other posts it seems people get angry when their dog is "kicked out" for aggression - and then they turn around and take that same dog to another daycare that willingly accepts them!! Then you read the reviews for those places and see all the comments about fights and injuries. Well I for one am very glad they weed out the mean dogs so that the nice friendly dogs all have a place to socialize together! My dog has never been injured and always comes home clean and happy. The daycare is very large and there's a lot of outdoor space to play and run. And they have staff watching each play group which is probably why all the dogs get along so well. The staff that works the front office have always been great and know our dog as soon as we come in and they talk to her. She is very excited to see them. They are very nice to the humans and dogs! The boarding is the best and we plan our trips around the availability for our dog because we won't take her anywhere else now. If there's no room for our dog we reschedule our trip. They only allow tours mid day so that there are no strange people in the boarding areas while the dogs are back there sleeping or eating. This is great for our dog who is very nervous of strange people. They also ask you to portion out meals in baggies so that you know you brought enough and there will be no running out of food while you're away. We call and check on our dog and they keep records of all that goes on to give us updates. We have had nothing but great experiences and we recommend them to everyone who has a dog. read more

Pet Play House really helped me out when I was in a jam. I had locked myself and my dog out of my house when I needed to go to work. I couldn't wait for a back up plan so my puppy and I rushed off to Pet Play House. When I walked in one of the girls working greeted me with a big smile and when I explained my situation they took my dog's vet records over the phone (the vet was in surgery and couldn't get official records out for an hour) as well as let me register him online hours later when I was able to access a computer. When I called them midday the woman who answered told me my dog was having a blast and that he made a friends with another dog. It was nice to know he was well cared for and having a good day. I know he did because he went straight to sleep as soon as he was picked up. I owe a HUGE thanks to Pet Play House for caring about me and my dog the first time we ever walked in the door. My pooch will definitely be making at least a monthly visit from now on. read more

This is the ONLY place we will board our doggies. It is like a hotel for canines. No cages here -- just suites and condos and happy dogs. Each room has a colorful theme, TV (we bring DVDs along), and music. Best of all, there is someone on staff 24-hours -- our dogs are older, so this gives us peace of mind. The folks who work there are always friendly to us -- they even greet our doggies by name when we arrive! We are very fortunate to have a boarding facility of this caliber in our mid-size town... one usually finds such in larger urban areas. We give it 5 stars... and our doggies give it 5 hearty woofs! read more

One time our dog got sick while we were away and they went above and beyond for him. They contacted his emergency contact because we were unavailable, drove him to his vet, and then took him to his Grandmas house. We take our dog Ruxin here a least 1-2 times a week. We have been very impressed with the staff and facility. Recently, Ruxins tore his ear at daycare. He is a large dog with a lot of energy so this was not too surprising. The staff immediately separated him him from the other dogs and called me. They tried their best to clean his ear and stop the bleeding. Once we arrived to pick him up the bleeding had stopped. After this event the kind gentleman who helped Rux that day made a point to ask me how he is doing and how his ear is healing. We've been taking our Aussie here for a year. It's been the best thing we've done for her. The staff is so caring about all the Babies they've been entrusted with. The price is very reasonable and I Thank them for that. You'll notice how happy everyone is when they come to pick up their babies becasue they know they had a GREAT DAY playing with all their friends. I know some people need to get going to work or home and they are quick to get them in or bring them out to go home. How many people can say their dogs do crafts? Well they get to at Pet Play House. Pet Play House is a truly special place for dogs! I take my 9 year old Russell Terrier - Lab mix there once a week for the day, as well as once or twice a year for extended stays while travelling. My dog is always very happy to go back and can't contain her excitement when we get close. All their staff is really kind and gentle and you'll notice right away that they take great care of your babies. What sets them apart from other boarding places is all the fun activities and games they do to get your baby tired real good by the end of the day. Highly recommended! read more

My review is based on the Pet Slumber Party. Pet Slumber Party is when they all sleep in one big room.My lab is a very easy going dog and gets well with all dogs so that is why I have used them many, many times. The gals at the front has always been very friendly and greet us by name. They have been easy to book, change and even cancel appointment days. I also like their online calendar so I can see if they are booked or not before I call them. The longest he has stayed there has been 10 days. He goes in very happy, pulling my arm to get inside (always a good sign) and comes back to me very happy and a bit tired. I always opt. for a bath for him before I pick him up. I recommend this place only if you have a very easy going dog. I also have an older pit bull that doesn't go here. First off, because he is a pit, they wouldn't allow him at the slumber party, he would have to be in a room by himself and that doesn't work for us. But again, for your easy going dogs, you will like them. read more

Out of town and not knowing where we could keep our JRT for a 3 day conference, we looked on yelp and found this place. The facilities were clean, the staff friendly and our dog was healthy when we picked her up. The only reason this is not a 5 is that the photos on the website are very obviously old and staged for the optimum views. It is not as pretty or nicely appointed any more as there has been many animals scratching, chewing and gnawing on the facilities. My dog could not care less about the pretty wallpaper, so it really did not matter that much, but I was very disappointed in the obvious difference in the photos and the reality. read more

Overall the place is amazing. But I should have take the advice from reviewers when it came to the staff. Luckily I didn't deal with an older man or the young lady. But my issue is the customer service. Note to self, I have only been there twice and that was my final straw. Let me first start with the fact that when I came for a review my mother, my grandmother ,and myself came in and everyone gave us the cold shoulder. It felt like they didn't give us much detail ;they didn't try to reassure us and they just kind of took my dog back there to hurry us out of the business . When I came back to pick up my dog after the evaluation my family had said to maybe go in there alone because maybe we intimidated them ,which we did nothing of the sort. So it kind of felt awkward that no one really wanted to talk to me and my family. What really got me though was when one of the staff came out to ask who they should go get from the back and this girl said this "mutt" thing! I literally thought that was so disrespectful I literally wanted to snap but I kept my composure. I still decided to take my dog the next day because I'm new in town and when I came to pick up my dog I saw that there was a sale so as I was looking I picked up one toy and then she just decided to ring me up I wasn't even finished so they really could've made a big sale but because they rushed me I only got to buy my dog one toy. I also asked about specials and I was told about a punchcard which was really upsetting because I had already been here one day and that could've gone to the punch card, but no one wanted to tell me previously the day before because no one even wanted to talk to me nor look me in my eyes. Overall it's just really disappointing and it makes me kind of question if this place is racist and I hate to say that. I hope the new owner really pulls a grip with their staff and makes customers feel welcomed and appreciated. We have been taking our mutts here for years! The owners are really nice and we always see them when we bring our dogs in. They also keep their staff for a long time, I've seen the same faces for years now, and some way back from when we brought our older dog that has since died. Its nice to have a personal connection with the people who are caring for your pets. They are always so nice and reassuring to us. Our dogs also appreciate seeing the same people regularly - I see them through the windows run up to the staff with tails wagging to say hi! On a handful of occasions we have actually had to board at several other places when PPH was full and we absolutely HAD to leave town. I can say with certainty that our dogs do better physically and mentally when they stay at PPH. They eat better, they smell better, and they rest better once we are home. I can tell they are happy at PPH. Also when we come to pick them up they give us a rundown of how our dogs did, and who they made friends with. We have not gotten nearly the same level of customer service elsewhere. It is common knowledge among all our family and friends who have dogs that PPH is still the best in town! read more
