I've shopped at this Petco for several months, but as of today, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I went in today to buy a pair of fancy rats to keep as pets. A man had already arrived at the cage to buy one of the rats as a feeder rat for his snake. I understand that every pet needs to eat; however, this man was loudly joking with the clerk about how his snake was hungry right in front of the "These are pets, not feeder animals" sign. The fact that the employee laughed along and did not try to encourage the man to seek other alternatives despite an apparent store policy really turned me off of this store. I took my business to Petsmart in Hemet, where the customer service was fantastic, and the employees respected the store policies and asked me about my intent in purchasing my new rats. read more

We are always looking for a great groomer. We used Petco for our German Shepherd years ago. We now have a maltipoo and have been trying different groomers. Just picked him up from being groomed by Tracy at Petco in Beaumont. WOW is all I can say. He has his summer "do" and he even knows how great he looks. They got rid of that ugly moustache and the cut is EVEN - one thing all other groomers have trouble achieving. We look forward to taking him to his new "forever groomer." read more

I'd probably give them a five-star review if they helped me carry my big box out today. Other than that, the staff appear to be very knowledgeable about the products they sell. What a fabulous team of employees! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. More than one employee asked if I needed assistance and noticed my new puppy and offered their suggestions for food, treats, etc. Jane is my girl! She was so helpful and so amazingly friendly. We loved her! She offered her knowledge of dog food for my new little pup and gave us one of those new parent booklets with all the coupons in it. Horrible service specifically from Beth .... third or fourth time in over the last month that I've gone in for mice and I'm told they are out and will have them Friday no biggie that's fine even though it's upsetting and it's only Monday I understand... no one ever has had the decency to offer to check the back so this time as I'm asking the cashier to check the back he says I know we don't have them I'm like cool whatever I go to different location(as I'm walking out) a girl walks by and rudely announces we get them in on Fridays!! Come to find out her name is Beth because I called to ask after leaving I was so upset of course Beth answers and even argues with me! Wow great customer service Beth at petco she pretty much tells me why would we check in the back when we know we don't have them they come Friday end of story no empathy whatsoever ... I have been taking my puppy To Petco for about the last 6 months. I have always been happy with their work. My last visit there was a miscommunication about what I had expected to be done. However Pat in grooming handled the situation and solved my problem quickly and professionally. My Pup is happy and I am happy! Great group of groomers! read more

Worst customer service ever. Booked a grooming appointment for my dog. Brought the dog in and it took FOREVER to check me in. Then the groomer Reshay walks away and goes to talk to someone. It was one of the managers. They told me there wasn't enough time to groom my dog properly. The appointment was at 6 and they closed at 8. I asks why did the book my appointment then. I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. Then I asked for her manager who is Beverly and apparently was gone. There was no ok sorry or anything. Just that I'd have to reschedule and come back another time. Ridiculous and horrible customer service. Zero stars. Won't be back ever!!! read more

This Petco is always clean and items are pretty easy to find, though they reorganize sections fairly regularly. Help to your car seems to be easier to get than help lifting items while shopping IN the store. You will get better service if you shop when a manager is in. read more

I love this Petco store -- especially the groomers. They are friendly and professional, and always take good care of my dog. Pat is my groomer and she is wonderful. I think that if I moved away I would plan trips back to Beaumont just so Pat could groom Jack. Jack is my "old man" Standard Poodle and he visits Pat regularly. She is very careful with him (he has arthritis in his hips) and always goes the extra mile to make his grooming experience great. read more

They are very accommodating, and take special care with nervous, fearful little ones like mine. Every time we walk in, they welcome us like family, and my pup is always happy to see them. Wow i am shocked. I came in to buy some cute toys that were on sale. The sign said 50% off so I grabbed 2 toys. When I went to pay for them the total was $30 I said wait a minute that's not right because you guys are having big a sale in your holiday section. The young man then said yeah I don't know why it's not working but I can take 50% off of one toy and I said no they both are on sale. I then was tired of telling him that the toys are on sale so I want them for that price the sale made them. I then told him I only wanted one toy and he said ok. I'm walking out the door and I check my receipt and he charged the wrong toy. So I went back and I think it was the manger who came and she attended me I told her that the toys I picked out were on sale and she said okay so she proceeded to put it into the computer and I asked her okay what's the price going to be for all of the items I want. She then told me in a very rude tone your getting $4.31 back okay and I told her I just wanted to know the total she then continued to be rude and said the same thing. This is by far the worst experience I've had here at Petco. I am very disappointed. read more

This place is clean and the staff is friendly and if you don't believe me then find Zaily. Usually at the cash register and she has helped me out so many times and is just the sweetest. Whatever they are paying her double it haha. Honestly the staff her are all willing to help and as a new dog owner they helped me get the best I could for my budget. This is my go to Pet store. Never shopping here again all because of the assistant manager. On a Sunday night my dad took me to the store and when I got there I didn't realize it had already closed 5 min before. But as we walked in I heard someone say we're closed and my dad jokingly pretended to sneak in while I waited at the door. I work retail so I understand the frustration of people coming in after we close but I have never treated a customer as if they were a child. My dad is the type that likes to make people laugh which is what he was trying to do with this assistant manager. But instead of her laughing she decided it was appropriate to point at the door and yell no no no as if my dad and I were children. It was inappropriate and unacceptable for an assistant manager to do. I love the other employees there however I will never go back because of her. I have never treated a customer the way she did in any situation. Even when I was physically assaulted I still held my composure. She doesn't not to be a manager if she thinks it's okay to treat people the way she did. read more

I really want to thank and acknowledge the pet groomer who took GREAT care of my dog Marleey during almost to closing hours at Petco. Her name was Reshay. Reshay was very professional and nice from begging to end. I first called to make an appointment and Reshay was kind enough to call my Vet for me to verify if Marleey was up to date on his rabies, she then called me back letting me know he was up to date until July this year, and to come on in. I arrived at 6PM and she greeted me when I walked in. I planned on just getting Marleeys nails cut and teeth brush but she offered to do a wash as well which at first I was hesitant because I've had trouble in the past with groomers due to his sensitive skin, I let her know the special shampoo I use for him and she said she has that same one that she can use for him, so I said yes. Just left the store. I went over to Petco to purchase shampoo for my dog. I also happened to have a dog collar that I had ordered from PETCO online, but ended up being too large, so I decided to bring it along to return it in-store since I'm buying dog shampoo anyways. So when I got up to the register I asked the girl if I was able to return this item that I purchased online also giving her the invoice/receipt that came with the item. She said I could, but wasn't quite sure exactly how to go about it. So she asked another employee for some help. He came over and made a phone call--to the PETCO store where the collar was shipped from I assume--and started working on the process of my item return. The girl cashier went ahead and started taking care of the other customers in line at the other register at this time. Then suddenly this other older lady employee appeared and approached the guy employee, that was on the phone trying to complete my return, and started telling him "Ryan, look behind you. There is a line!" He's trying to talk to the person in the phone to finish the return process. This lady feels the need she has to help him figure this out and also repeats to him to look behind him again at the line. I don't know how she thinks she's helping him speed things up by badgering him. Anyway, I'm still just standing there and I haven't really said anything as I'm waiting for them to finish with my return of the dog collar and purchase of the shampoo. This lady then looks at me and in a rude tone says, "Next time this happens, you need to go on your phone and to the site and click on the receipt for 'returns', then bring it in." I literally had my phone in my hand when she appeared out of no where. She could have simply asked me to pull up my email with the receipt right then and there to make it easier. Then she starts talking to the guy employee, who is Ryan apparently, and comments to him. "We're not supposed to be calling on the phone for this. If this happens, have THEM call." I never asked anyone to call anybody! I just came up to the register and asked if I could return in-store an item I purchased online! He decided to call! I have said no other words since then! Anyways, I decided to pull up the receipt she was talking about on my phone to have this process finish sooner, then asked her if she would like the receipt now. She says in a clipped tone, "No. They've already done it." As he's finally completing the return with the person on the phone, this lady decides to say at least one more time, " Ryan, look behind you. There's a line." Are you kidding??? This process could've gone so much smoother if she wasn't badgering him while he was trying to help me out. Also, I'm pretty sure she was the one that left a register unmanned, which the previous girl had to take over. Well, I eventually was able to return my item and get a refund and the lady ended up ringing me up for my purchase for the shampoo. She couldn't help herself though and had to scold me one last time at the end and said "Ya, we're not supposed to be making those calls. You need to bring the return receipt from the site." I bite my tongue because I actually feel bad that there is a line built up behind me. I'm glad I was able to leave the store. PETCO needs to have her do some kind of class for customer service or something. I usually have a pretty pleasant experience when I shop at this particular location. The employees are normally pretty nice and great to my dogs when I bring them in with me. However, I might question going back here though and decide with another store because I don't want to have to deal with this particular lady again. read more

So I don't know how they run places here, I felt bad for the person the manager yelled at. So while I was shopping I happened to over hear the yelling that the manager is giving to a employee something about leaving at her schedule time and getting mad because she was leaving at her time. Like this isn't the first time something happened like this. The first time as I was checking out with my items it was a long time it was busy at the time and a employee was calling up for backup and another employee wanted to ask a question to the manager about giving something for free and the manager was furious and frustrated so she throw the item to the customer and said "just take it it's free" and started yelling at the employee for "calling up backup" when that time happened I let it slide but now that it's happened again with yelling at a employee at this point I rather take my business somewhere else than here. read more
