So I just recently purchased my baby Milanò. He's a Teacup Yorkie mixed with a Maltese. So lets just jump right on into this review, I was frantically calling around to have my dog vaccinated for his shots being that he is a new puppy. I was so fortunate to call this petco where they were friendly and so kind to me! All in all they were very clean and all the other shoppers including the employees loved Milanò. They made sure to educate me in the shots that My pup would be receiving and what purpose it served. If you guys want great customer service and a wonderful environment try this location is great! The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because one of the vets who administered the shots had gotten scratched by a previous animal coning for a vaccination and he didnt even wash his hands which had scratches and open cuts from the animal causing that. This was very unsanitary and not cool to me. But overall they were so nice. read more

I've been coming to this Petco for a while. On 9/27/23 from 1850 to 1910 this visibly unhappy employee assisted me and was incredibly short with me through my exchange. I went in to purchase 100 crickets. This may sound very petty. But he kept rolling his eyes and gave me very short answers and would not look at me. Then as I asked one other question, he again gives me a short response and walks away. This is the 2nd time that this has happened. He should be retrained on customer service. And clothes etiquette. You're at work. Why are your pants around your butt. You would think that people in the service industry would be kinder to there guests considering there jobs will be almost obsolete. read more

They wouldn't pick up the phone when I called to figure out why my appointment got cancelled but they answered when other people called for me. Visited this location for the first time ever today for my dogs first grooming session with me as his owner. My first business of choice was booked for months in advance and my little guy needed a groom ASAP. I consulted a close friend of my mine and expressed her happiness with Petco for grooming services (another location) and I decided to give it a try. Booking the appointment online was super simple and straightforward and no credit card is required to hold your appointment spot (such a god send). Upon our arrival the groomer who would be working with my dog, Rudy, spoke with me for a while about his temperament and re-confirmed the services I wanted (I did the wash with haircut with a flea and tick cleanse) Rudy asked me if he would allow her to hold him and I said yes. She was warm and friendly. I filled out his paperwork and she told me that she would call when he was ready. I handed him over to her and he looked so comfortable and happy in her arms I knew he would be in great hands. I went and had lunch and came back before I was called. When I came back, Rudy greeted me and told me that he was just finished washing and drying and he was getting ready to go on the table for his haircut. She said he wanted to be in her arms to be blow dried and I was happy to hear she allowed him to do so. I was able to watch Rudy give him a haircut through the glass windows of the grooming room- again she was thorough and kind. So much so that I actually walked around a bit while she continued to give him his haircut. When I picked him up he was happy and all smiles as you can see in the pictures! My kid would not let me clip her nails. No amount of treats and other bribing tools she was not falling for it. I'm also tired of her scratching me up when she jumps on me so this needed to get done and has been overdue for some time.She is a big dog but sooo friendly and all the workers loved playing and interacting with her. We were a walk in and the workers still accommodated us. She got to socialize and pass time walking around sniffing the place out and when she met some other dogs in the groom waiting room while she waited. They are located in the Gateway Center Shopping Center. On the backside of the complex. I was in here for the first time the other day because "regular" Petco had run out the litter my cats like. This one is pretty big and easy to navigate. The cashier greeted me when I walked in which was nice. I thought the fish section could have been better, considering the size of this store. I only usually pay attention to the fish and cat sections so I can't comment on the areas. I did notice there were plenty of dog washing stations here. Plenty of parking. read more

This is an old story because I just got my dog groomed at a nice small shop rather than this corporate chain. When I brought him to this location, the groomer's were understaffed (one groomer to 12 dogs) but no one told us. So we handed over our dog and he ended up locked in a crate for over 10 hours and he wasn't finished until around 2 hours after the store closed. He was upset and hungry (he had missed his dinner because of being locked away). They gave us a free bag of treats but I just think if a groomer calls out, just try and reschedule with people. read more

I tried stopping in on my way home tonight to pick up food for my dogs but was physically locked out of the location by 8:00pm on the dot. Bear in mind I watched a couple walk in immediately before me, at maybe 7:59pm. The dude who closed the door in my face returned to the glass door when I knocked on it only to relay the message, "we're closed" after my telling him I need to grab a single bag of dog food. Okay. So at this point I pull out my cellphone and call the store...alas, an answer! Maybe the same obnoxious guy who closed the doors on me, who knows. Said person proceeds to advise that the registers are all closed. Bruh, at 8:00pm sharp, though?! I am practically pleading, asking to grant the courtesy of letting me in so I can purchase a bag of food. No such luck. Dog didn't even smell clean and a nail was trimmed too much, I could see the red nerve inside. Dog didn't want to stay there, this should have been the only sign I needed. The store is not kept well. the groomers are unprofessional. Had to reschedule an appointment for grooming services 3x's bc they said my dogs vaccinations weren't current. However, my vet confirmed he is current with all his vaccines and every time I rescheduled the price went higher. I was here yesterday after shopping around the area. I wanted to pick up some lizards with my sister. For that to happen, of course I needed some help from the workers there. I approached multiple workers there and received no help whatsoever. They either brushed me off saying "I'm working on something else right now" then seen talking with their co-workers who were surely not doing their work, "Sure, give me a second" and never got back to me, or they just ignored me completely. If I wasn't waiting for someone there, I would have left right away. I ended up waiting for someone to help me for approx. 40 minutes. Someone FINALLY came to help me after the said amount of time. The girl seemed to know her things but she abandoned me soon after without providing me the full service that I needed. I found her chatting by the register with another worker. (There weren't many customers) The only positive thing I'd say about this location is that it was big, clean and was neat. I ended up going to another Petco to get my lizards and received superior service there. I was beyond disappointed at the service I received at the one by Gateway. **This place would be okay if you're just going to purchase dog food or something you do not need help with. This review is for the GROOMING department. I have been coming to Petco for grooming since Feburary 2017. My dog, Porkchop, has been groomed by Cat since he has been coming. She always provides excellent service, is always courteous and has never disappointed with the way Porkchop is groomed. Jessica is also very helpful with scheduling appointments and is always very friendly. Porkchop loves Cat and Jessica and treats them like family. I love Petco, I do, but I am definitely not happy at times with their service. You only have 1 groomer... where are the rest of groomers? That's unfair to just 1 person to do all that work. Whenever I call to speak to someone at the store to ask a question, the phone just rings and rings and rings. There were times I even went inside the store, the phone is ringing and there's no sales person in site to answer the phone. I will never come to this place for grooming ever again. I have a husky with thick fur very wooly and long I took him here to get groomed just a bath and blow out and deshedding. Me thinking everything is good I get a call saying he might be kennel aggressive and was being difficult and I felt bad because I can understand how difficult and scary it can be working with dogs you don't know being that I work as a dog handler at boarding facility. So I went back to the place to check on him, I went in the section and he was screaming terribly and and they said it was because he didn't like the drier but at this point I can't see anything so idk anything that's going on. After that she takes him to the spot you can see him and she's brushing him and I can see it's a lot and it does look like he's being a little difficult. I wait outside and I was told she could not finish him because he bit her but didn't cause her to bleed and I immediately felt bad. They said that he was matted and they couldn't get it off his back and I'm like okay... I'll do it myself because I thought maybe they were just being lazy because they cancelled my first appointment because I couldn't come in early and then asked me 3 times to come in earlier if I could. So I left and got home and I noticed what they said was matted from before and it was HUGE knots of hair that I know for sure he did not have any of that because 1 I brush him and 2 he just came from the vet two days prior and they even look at his fur and everything and they said he was in good shape these knots where extremely noticeable and even if that was the case even if I did bring him like that why wouldn't you tell me he was too matted the first time you saw him or when you called or maybe when an hour and half passed and you were still working on him and no one informed me that he was matted anywhere.. so what you were just pulling on it with the brush? No wonder why he was screaming like that. Then it doesn't end there I'm taking out the nots and I noticed he got cut on his nose and between his paws are super red and bleeding and bleeding on his nose and his skin is super red and irritated. Now like I said I work in a boarding place and we do grooming too but before we even work on a dog we look at the fur and even after that if we missed something and notice it later we immediately call. So yesterday afternoon we returned a broken electronic cat toy that was purchased a week ago. We did not have the receipt, but since it was purchased with a credit card we knew we should at least be able to exchange it. The woman at the register told us she cannot refund us because the store is under investigation for fraudulent activities by its employees. We told her we just want to exchange it and she then told us to go ahead. We returned to the register with the item and there was a young male behind it that gave us an emphatic "No" about exchanging an item. He and the first woman then began to have a small argument about who should do it, with him saying" I'm not getting in trouble for exchanging an item". Number one, I found the staff extremely unprofessional the way they handled this (arguing in front of customers?). Number 2, if the store workers are untrustworthy, why not replace them with a new staff instead of making the buyer suffer? Number 3, if you have a problem with returns maybe you should have a manager handle them instead of the staff telling customers about internal investigation and unsavory practices at this store? Anyway the woman took his place behind the register and exchanged it for us. Needless to say we wont return here, who knows what your staff might do with my credit card info... I go there often for cat food but this day my friend needed food for her lizard. Most of the mealworms were dead and all the crickets were dead! When we finally got someone to help us, he politely said take as many mealworms as you can find because we don't have anymore. Did I mention all the fish tanks were filthy!!! I dont know how This place survives. They have no staff to help, fish department is disgusting; where they bag fish, are sinks and they store all the dead fish there and its smells horrible!. They never have anything in stock and when you ask when they say "come back at the end of.the week" and still nothing. The Managment sucks, everyone who works there looks miserable and seems annoyed to be there and I can see why, they have NO ORGANIZATION! GET SOME MANAGEMENT... Not Idiots!
