Alyssa the groomer cut my dog
    Christina P.

Terrible experience at this Petco Grooming location. The groomer Alyssa didn't even introduce herself--she walked in, said nothing, and started touching my dog Zeke from behind. Completely rude and unprofessional. When I picked up Zeke, I found a cut on his left shoulder (photo attached). No one told me about it or took any responsibility. That's completely unacceptable and shows a lack of care. The woman at the front desk gave me a hard time when I asked to pick up my dog first before paying. I've never had issues like that at other Petco locations. Even walking through the store, the employees were unhelpful and didn't seem to care at all. How can you work in a pet store and show zero concern for animals? This place is awful. I won't be coming back.

Dusty and uncared for. For a pet store, this place lacked life. I wanted to buy fish for my turtle but half of them were dead or dying already.

The rude and hateful lady who rang me up.

The store itself was a very nice Petco, I loved the cute clothes they had for the pets, however RAYLEEN was EXTREMELY RUDE to me. When I approached the register a man was finishing his purchase and RAYLEEN was very nice and chatty with him. When I approached the register her attitude was like night and day. She didn't acknowledge me and kept her head down. So I said "hello" she blatantly ignores me and I'm AT the register. She proceeds to ring me up. She did ask if I had a phone number registered. But just a lot of rude energy. Once I was done a couple came behind me and in her kindest, most excited voice RAYLEEN says "hi! How are you today?" I had barely walked away from the register...I'm a black woman, those she helped before and after me were not, and this was how I was dealt with... ...this petco was my first stop after evacuating from LA due to the fires. Let this be a lesson to always be KIND to people because you don't know what they are going through. RAYLEEN could've showed me kindness instead she chose to show me something else.

This place just sucks at caring for their animals. Came in to buy some conditioner for my aquariums, and found most bettas at the brink of death. I have 5 aquariums up and running able to house 5 of them. I offered to adopt their female because of how horrible she looked, if they said yes I would offer to buy the other 4. It took 5 female employees going back and forth to tell me that they can't due to some policy about needing them on the shelf for at least 3months before they can DISCOUNT then another three months before they can even consider adoption. Basically saying she needs to sit there for at least half a year before they can give her to a loving home. Petco @ Cerritos 1/26/26 @ 11:30am

    Petco ripped my Mommy off

Vulnerable Senior Citizens Beware A very close relative is 82 years old and had a stroke earlier this year, which has affected her mental processes. She and her caregiver took her dog to Petco in Cerritos CA just get a rabies shot. They also brought a coupon they had received for a free veterinary exam. They ended up with getting a lot of extra services, which was not their original intent. These services could have been gotten elsewhere and at a later date. The total cost was $631.15. Because the shot was included in some kind of package deal, it isn't possible to figure out from the bill what it would have been if they just got the rabies shot. However online it says, "The cost of a rabies shot at Petco typically ranges from $19 to $35, depending on your location and whether you choose a 1-year or 3-year vaccine." So they ended up paying almost $600 more than if they just got the shot they went to Petco for. I received a request to provide feedback to a Petco online survey of customer satisfaction. I gave them the lowest rating and explained it was because they took advantage of a very vulnerable senior citizen. I received an email response that thanked me for the feedback but saying they couldn't do anything about the "pricing." However the issue was not the cost of services. The response completely ignored the fact that my relative was manipulated into getting a number of very expensive services that were not what she planned to do there. I replied to the email to explain that doing things better in the future, as they suggested, didn't fix the problem with the previous visit. However the person who emailed me "will be out of office 9/19-9/30," so I'm not going to get any response until then to my email reply to that person's email. Maybe they think I'll just forget about it? Bottom line, I recommend not doing business with Petco. If you still might consider them, check around to see where else you might get the services you want and what they cost elsewhere.

I've been brining my very timid dog here since he was 7 months old. Alyssa has always treated my with care and is very receptive to any new grooming requests. My dog is no longer timid and loves coming here & loves Alyssa!

Missed appointment I was early too.

We definitely recommend Andi!…read more We originally reached out to Andi for consultations regarding both of our Maltipoos, Kiki and Coco. During our initial phone consultation, Andi was incredibly honest and genuine. After learning more about our dogs, she felt that Kiki was the one who would benefit most from formal training and suggested that we could apply what we learned with Kiki to Coco as well. We really appreciated that she didn't try to upsell us on training for both dogs when she easily could have. That immediately showed us how much she genuinely cares about helping dogs and their families. At the time, Kiki was about six months old and was extremely reactive to just about everything in the outside world. We were looking for someone whose methods aligned with our values, and we loved Andi's positive reinforcement approach. Kiki completed Andi's six-week program, and the growth we've seen has been incredible. What sets Andi apart is that she isn't focused solely on teaching dogs tricks or obedience commands. She truly cares about each dog's emotional well-being and how they're feeling throughout the process. We learned so much--not just about Kiki, but about ourselves as dog owners. Andi helped us understand how our own behaviors and responses can shape our dogs, which was eye-opening and incredibly valuable. Of course, the work doesn't stop when the training sessions end. It takes consistency and ongoing practice at home, but Andi gave us the tools and confidence to continue building on Kiki's progress. The effort has been absolutely worth it. One of the best parts is that we were able to use many of the same training methods with our older Maltipoo, Coco, and she learned and benefited from them as well. Andi actively encouraged this, which we really appreciated. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and ethical trainer who truly puts dogs' well-being first, we wholeheartedly recommend Andi and Diamond Dog Training.

Our main issue was walking and pulling on leash. After our six-week training course, our pups improved tremendously. It's made these classes invaluable and let me tell you some reasons why ... - your fur babies get trained via the knowledgeable, incredibly patient trainers training YOU, the parent (handler) - the social environment with other dogs and people around WHILE your baby gets trained by what you learn (they get used to all the distractions like in the outside world) as they are learning and it becomes a norm for them and helps with less skiddish behavior and able to focus better even with distractions - the variety of classes ... from beginner puppy to advanced levels and fun classes like different Agility class levels and even Pilates and playgroups for different sizes and personality types of dogs - did I mention the awesome trainers? They are always willing to answer your questions and eager to help in whatever way they can. This I signed up for the VIP program and honestly was a bit hesitant at first because of the price. But it really has been money so well spent. Don't get me wrong ... you have to put your time into it too in doing what you learned in class while at home and really thru-out any time you are not in class but talk about setting your dog up for success! It helps ease a lot of frustration between you and your dog when you help them understand you and you understand them so much more thru the bonding in this process of learning. To summarize ... just do it.

From day one, Juan provided exceptional customer service. He was never pushy, took the time to explain the training process, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and was always easy to reach whenever I needed him. I ultimately chose the 5-week off-leash obedience program. As difficult as it was to leave my puppy for that long, it was absolutely worth it. My dog came home calmer, more confident, and with a much better understanding of commands such as stay, down, place, come, yes, and no. She listens significantly better and is clearly more focused and well-mannered. Oh and let me not forgot to mention she is now crate trained and potty trained. We called multiple trainers, had multiple consultations and no one we meshed with until we found Reymond. Before I share my experience, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy and support to Vladae…read moreand his family. Knowing that his wife Antonina is from Ukraine and that they have loved ones and deep personal connections in a region affected by war and uncertainty, I can only imagine the emotional stress they have carried over the years. Despite those challenges, they continue helping dogs and families in our community with remarkable dedication, and I wanted to acknowledge that before sharing my story. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and the experience I had with Vladae and SoCal Dog Training. I am a professional dog groomer, so I spend my days working with dogs and their owners. Over time, I noticed something interesting: several of my grooming clients were bringing in dogs that had undergone remarkable behavioral transformations. When I asked what had changed, the answer kept coming back the same--SoCal Dog Training. Around the same time, my veterinarian also spoke very highly of Vladae. After hearing so many positive things from people I trusted and seeing the results with my own eyes, I decided to reach out for help with my own Goldendoodle, June. June is the sweetest dog in the world, but she struggled with fear, insecurity, phobias, and noise sensitivities. In unfamiliar places, her tail would immediately tuck between her legs, and she would often become so nervous that she simply froze. Watching her struggle was heartbreaking. Our journey started with puppy training, continued through private lessons, and eventually led to SoCal Dog Training's Canine Boot Camp. Looking back now, it is honestly hard to believe how far she has come. Today, June is happier, more confident, and genuinely enjoying life. One of the most emotional moments for me was seeing her confidently running through busy public places and exploring her surroundings with joy. There was a time when she was so fearful she could barely move. Seeing the dog she has become today almost brought tears to my eyes. What impressed me most was how individualized the training was. As a groomer, I understand that every dog is different. Different dogs require different approaches, techniques, and sometimes different tools. I watched Vladae continually adjust and customize the program based on June's personality and emotional needs. Nothing ever felt like a one-size-fits-all approach. I also appreciated his honesty, authority, and surprisingly gentle approach. He never made unrealistic promises or simply told me what I wanted to hear. If anything, he under-promised and over-delivered--and that was exactly my experience. During our first FaceTime consultation, we openly discussed different training philosophies, methods, and tools. He explained the purpose behind each option and answered every question I had. I never felt pressured into anything. I felt informed, comfortable, and involved in every decision regarding June's training. One thing he told me early on stayed with me: "Come into this process with an open mind and an open heart, trust the process, do the work, and I'll do everything I can to help you succeed." That's exactly what happened. I had homework. I had to practice. I had to report back and continue learning alongside June. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that successful dog training isn't just about training the dog--it's equally about training the owner. As a groomer, I never thought about it that way before. In grooming, I do the work and the owner enjoys the result. Dog training is different. June wasn't the only one learning and growing--I was too. Looking back now, I truly feel that both June and I graduated from this program together. I also appreciated Vladae's honesty when he explained that dog training is a skill, not a magic wand. Like any skill, it needs to be practiced and maintained. That made perfect sense to me. What SoCal Dog Training gave us was a strong foundation and the knowledge to continue building on our success. One of my favorite memories was visiting June shortly before Boot Camp was completed. She was excited to see me, but after a few minutes it almost felt like she was saying, "Hi Mom! Okay, I'm good now--I'm hanging out with Vladi!" It was obvious she felt comfortable, safe, and genuinely happy. Will June ever be perfect? Probably not. No dog is. But compared to where we started, the transformation feels nothing short of miraculous. Most importantly, she is happy. She is confident. She enjoys life. And I enjoy life more because I no longer spend every day worrying about her. I cannot thank Vladae and SoCal Dog Training enough for everything they have done for June and for me. Thank you, Vladi, for giving my sweet girl the confidence to enjoy the world. We are both incredibly grateful.
