We had purchased some treats at the treat bar and when I got home I realized they charged me a whole lb for 1/8 of a pound of treats. I called them and they said they round up to a whole pound but we were not told this at all when we were purchasing the items and they will not offer a refund but did tell me I can give the treats back for no refund if I wanted to. Don't let veterinarian Amber Fuller anywhere near your dog or trust Vetco. Petco will not take any accountability for the actions of practitioners like her in their stores. Amber Fuller intentionally hurt my dog during a routine vaccine appointment. Unfortunately at this point it is escalating to a complaint with the vet licensing board. But all Petco will do is put a note in your file if you choose to use Vetco again. I personally would never do so when a routine vaccine appointment with Amber Fuller went so wrong so quickly. Their staff are perhaps overworked but Amber Fuller vet failed to follow the basic standards of care. She did not fully read the chart and had to be corrected several times on basic facts like the gender of the pet and the vaccine needed. Staff at Vetco are poorly trained, overworked, and irresponsible at best. I wish I had just walked away instead of putting my dog through something so traumatic. read more

Terrible location. This is the 3rd time we've attempted to go to Petco but the store was already closed before their set closing time. Yesterday, we arrived at 7pm and they had a handwritten sign saying the store is open until 7pm all week, instead of the usual 8pm posted online and at the door. We arrived today at 6:30pm and they were already closed. The previous sign was replaced by a handwritten "closed" sign. When we actually are able to enter the store, it's always filthy. Pet hair and dog stool everywhere. While pet owners should be picking up after their dogs in the first place, the employees do not clean up when they are notified of the mess. The entry way is carpeted and disgusting. I feel uncomfortable and unsafe bringing my dogs here. The employees are not welcoming at all and seem inconvenienced to be there. read more

I was passing through Phoenix on my way to Tucson when I stopped at the Walmart and something urged me to go into Petco. I wandered in with my pet guinea pig that I tragically lost a few months ago on my mind and was already feeling emotional. A young gentleman approached me and asked if he could help (which never happens at the Petco in Tucson) and without hesitation he took me to the Guinea pigs. All the experiences I've ever had with the employees at Petco in Tucson, it's like they don't want you to hold the animal unless you plan to buy the animal. It's hard to sell an animal that way. In fact, I've called the corporative Petco to complain about employees really not trying to sell the pets that need homes, on top of selling me a female pig labeled a male with a broken leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That NO EMPLOYEE NOTICED!! The minute I held the 1st one emotions flooded and tears started to come down. He knew I was grieving and needed this, he had so much compassion in his heart that I could feel it. He literally SAT DOWN with me in the middle of the aisle and let me hold each pig, one by one, adamantly telling me to take my time and not to rush, that all was OK, giving me the time to try to find a connection with the right one. He looked to be around my son's age (18?) tall and thin with dark hair and a soft, gentle voice and the best manners.. (You're parents should be proud!) I ended up leaving to process but because of that interaction and the time he gave me to find the right pig I came in not even 30 minutes later and purchased the piggy. He was not there, I looked for him. I wanted to give him a big hug. Employees like him do not exist much anymore. He is not only a valuable employee but a valuable human being. And not just him, the girl with the short hair that I called about the pig before going back in and checked me out was just the sweetest, you can tell she really cares for the animals as well and that is so important to me. I don't know what this Petco is doing different, maybe it is the management, but it is the best experience I've ever had. And because of this experience, I found the right pet (family memeber!) and they gave a pet a wonderful home! Thank you all so much! Thank you more so for genuinely caring for those animals, it is so important in that job field! You guys are awesome!!!! Also, shout out to Christina!! I really love this Petco, it is super close to our new home, the workers are friendly, knowledgeable, and extraordinarily helpful. While we were moving in, I stopped by with Mia to take her to the "cookie bar" to get a pound of a variety of her favorite treats. The first thing that struck me was it was so clean, and smelled good, no pet funk odors greeted me, even with the grooming, training, Vet Center, and several furbabies in tow. Next, I mentioned in passing to the cashier that Mia is doggie door trained, and our new place lacks a slider which her previous two homes had; he walked me back to the extensive doggie door area, presenting a variety of options. Wish I could remember his name, because he additionally asked the Dog Trainer for interim tips - since Doxies are notoriously hard to potty train, I was concerned that years of training would fall to the wayside - this was super helpful. Finally, he was able to solve a two "PALS" card issue our previous Petco could not, consolidating the rewards program for us. We'll be back, and I will switch Mia's standing monthly grooming appointment to this location, too. Couldn't be more satisfied with the store and customer service. read more

I have been taking my dog Annie to Emily for a while now for regular monthly grooming. Emily and the whole team always treat Annie with so much love and attention when she is in and it makes me feel so comfortable. Anything out of the ordinary they notice they immediately let me know. Recently Annie went in and had an open wound midway thru the appointment that was concerning and they immediately called and communicated this and let me know and took her to the emergency vet right away where I met them. Lexi the manager stayed with me to whole entire time which made me stress less and feel even better to have someone else with me and we found out Annie had a minor ruptured gland that no one cause it was just a normal dog thing and the emergency vet got it taken care of that day. Words cannot express how thankful I am for the whole Chandler petco salon team being there for me this day and helping out my Annie girl and every other time she visits for always giving her so much love and making her a clean sparkly girl! I've previously had my standard poodles groomed by Jen and Liz and have been helped by Megan, who are all really great. I can't speak highly enough of Jen and Liz. This review reflects specifically my interaction and extremely negative experience with groomer Melissa C. I have, in the past, described the desired cut as a "puppy cut", and did so again this afternoon, only to be told by this awful girl, "First of all, that cut doesn't exist" in a condescending tone. She then proceeded to educate me on what a puppy cut was and what it entailed. (So does it exist or doesn't it?) I then asked for a teddy bear cut, and before I could finish my sentence to explain for the body only, she flat out told me no. I then requested just do what was done before. She was so busy in schooling me on what she knows and how I should have my dog cut that she didn't listen to me requesting to keep the top knot. After experiencing one of the rudest conversations I've ever had, I came back to pick my dog with a HORRENDOUS cut. I can't even describe it. The top knot is cut short and I even, not even CLOSE to her last cut, skin showing in places, shaved legs, basically the opposite of what I asked for. She should have been fluffy. She also cut the quick and pretty much blamed my dog for being nervous. This is the worst cut I've ever seen. Stay away from Melissa C! read more

I like that they have different dog toys than Petsmart. In my opinion they have a better selection as well, as well as a bigger clearance section. They also have puppy playtime on Saturdays, where your puppy can socialize with others (6months or younger only). This is a good way to introduce them to other dogs at a young age. They also have a bulk treat section with all sorts of baked dog treats. Some of them look so good that I want to try them lol. read more

This is my go to store. I have shopped other stores in the area but the customer service is amazing here - I love love JoAnn , Kelly and Nandie . I have a 55 gallon fish tank and I love guppies!!! Their selection of fish is always amazing!!!!!!!! I've searched many other stores looking for a variety and none compare! It's exciting to stop by the store just to see what they have and I've seen the most beautiful Selection here I don't even bother to go check the other stores anymore. I also had a fish tank emergency and the service and compassion of the ladies when I was losing my fish was amazing! They help me find the right products and once my tank got back on track they help me with more fish and they also help me with a variety of food to make sure that my fish were thriving and had amazing colors:) Please whatever you do don't limit our types of gorgeous fish that you have on display it's what keeps me coming back!!! Staff was great with my 2 little tyrants. I had them vaccinated (the vetco?) part of it was fine. We got there super early, waited in line. The process took longer than I thought, in spite of being 4th in line. Between their iPad system crashing several times, and general dog drama, I'm glad it's over. They even have tiny muzzles for these guys. I also watched a slack dog mom nearly shrug when a member of Vetco was bitten by her brat. At least I warn people, and keep him in check(ok so I have 1 good, and 1 bad one). Even with warnings people still stick their hands to try and pet them. Good grief. Anyways We're all squared away, and it's 11:53 AM. Ready for a shot of vodka to calm my nerves . The dog trainer James? Jake? Super nice guy gave us coupons and tested my warning about giving Cocoa his hand. Lots of drama ensued, but he was a great sport about my naughty baby. I got two kittens from here and had to put both down 2 months after having them Bc they were sick with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) a progressive and often fatal disease that is caused by a coronavirus. THEY WERE KITTENS! I got them for my son as companions after a divorce and they both had to be put down and the manger was rude cold and could careless about my situation! I have been in this store more times in the last month then I'd like to admit. I have been preparing for a white's tree frog. I went in and got what I needed only to find out I needed something else. In store pickup it would be... but then I wanted to go in and peek at the frog soooo yeah, I visited frequently. Every time I was helped in one way or another by Emma. She is in the fish department but it's right next to the reptile stuff. She also helped checkout. She ended up being the one who sold the frogs.. yes plural.. to me. She's a good sales woman. Haha! Is there actual management for this store? Or is it just young kids who weren't taught how to do their jobs? I came in to pick up an online order. The kid - who seemed high or at least out of it - didn't look that hard before claiming he couldn't find it. He brought over an equally clueless girl to help him. I gave her my name, and what the item was. She asked if I had received an email - yes I did - it was ready to pick up. She then claimed they didn't have any of the item I purchased and it was a mistake that the order went through. I told her there were 8 bags on the shelf in the back when I had walked back there. They then told me that I could go back there and pick them up myself. Are you serious? What kind of customer service is this? They weren't busy, clearly just lazy and worthless. Went to the vet Clinic today arrived at 10:00AM Was told to get in line down the hall by the bathrooms no air conditioning is in this hallway only intake registers!!!! We were made to stand there about 40 of us for over 30 minutes ! I asked who the manager was to an employee walking by and she said it's really hot back here ! One lady almost passed out the dogs were panting the store employees were oblivious to the overheating people and dogs . Finally they let us wait in the store and we were all very overheated ! If my dogs rabies had not expired today I would have left !! I for one will in the future gladly pay a normal sane veterinarians clinic where you'd not herded like cattle ! So I scheduled an appointment for my pup to get groomed. I arrive there at his appointment time to get groomed, the lady said someone tried calling me. No one called me. And she told me that they got double booked. I don't know who is doing the appointments, but they got to get re-trained. Oh yeah, I never received a call double checked my call list and nothing. My experience here has been absolutely amazing with my groomer Emily. She does such a fantastic job and I've been going to this petco for a year already. My puppy is not the easiest to handle she might be small and all but she has really bad anxiety separation so the fact that since day one that I have left her with Emily with no problem at all has been great! I find it very sweet and detailed that Emily took the time to make Mia (my puppy) some cute bows! She knew Mia was coming the next day so she took out of her time to do it. Let me tell you every time I pick up Mia it's very exciting because either she has cute bows or a small scarf around her. People like Emily are hard to find especially when it comes to having patience. Whatever service i ask or haircut I get it without any hesitation. I went into the store to look for a collar for my fast growing puppy. I was there for about 10 minutes trying to choose and nobody came by to see if I needed assistance. I was also going to purchase some Nutro Ultra Large Breed Puppy Food but they were $3.00 more expensive than PetSmart. I wanted to give them business because they are 2 blocks from where I live but their selection and customer service were not satisfactory. The store was very clean and well-kept but maybe they need to channel a little bit of that energy into those of us who keep their lights on. read more
