This isn't my normal pet store but sometimes it is after 8 PM and I need something for my dog. In those cases, I come here. The location is problematic to get to on a busy Saturday (actually, anything in this mall area is) but once inside the store is laid out well. The staff are generally pleasant and knowledgeable. My favorite part of the store (and my golden retriever's too) is their "Biscuit Buffet" where you can buy dog biscuits by the pound. I generally by healthy ones in other aisles but they have some fun cookie flavors here that look and taste like human cookies (because they are... their are diabetic cookies). Sometimes sloppy people before us spill biscuits on the floor and when Clover (aforementioned retriever) finds them she gets to eat them! read more

Latham NY Vetco is the worst. I paid for my pet's shots, and they gave me a prescription for him. When I went to fill the script, they told me I had to wait 3-6 business days for Vetco themselves to send the prescription. I contacted Vetco and the reps were very rude and disrespectful. I never got his medicine and I will never bring my baby back to any Vetco. Why give me a prescription that I can't fill. Vetco is not good to animals and they need to be stopped. read more

Horrible today took my dogs to be groomed at the Fairfield location. They completely shaved the dogs never in my life no style nothing just buzzed off their fur. Never in my life of taking them for grooming has this ever happened to give a dog a buzz bald cut unless asked to. And my Male dogs nails are bleeding. I don't know if it's these young girls first time doing grooming but never again will i bring them to Petco. Absolutely horrible. The poor dogs. And especially my Male dog now his nails are bleeding. Smh....just horrid. I have no words. We told the girls why is his nails bleeding they said just put flower. Smh. read more

Called the Torringtin, CT Petco to make an appt for dog grooming & I was explaining that my dog gets anxious. Gal said that if he bites then don't bring him in....I never said he bites so I told her I'd contact a professional dog groomer. Obviously Petco is NOT! read more

Friendly service on a busy Saturday afternoon. We came for the Vetco clinic for vaccines on 8 week old pups. Staff brought me clipboards of paperwork to fill it before we got to the front that way we would have it all filled out before it was our turn in line. Got a lot of attention from kids, bystanders, grooming staff and of course all the vet techs there were snuggling and holding puppies. People were friendly and somewhat kept their distance. This review was basically for VETCO at the Petco in colonie. We didn't get a chance to look at puppy supplies but we sure will come back very soon. read more

I usually go to PetSmart for dog food, because they carry the brand my boy prefers. I don't often come to this store at all in fact, but I recently found out they do monthly vaccination clinics. This is fantastic, because it's much, much cheaper than the vet's office and it's done on a Saturday. I feel bad enough taking time off from work for my own doctor's appointments, let alone a pet's. For the month of February, rabies shots good for three years were $5. Regularly, they are $15, which is still very good. The service, LuvMyPet, also offers very affordable vaccination packages including services like heartworm tests and puppy boosters. Very friendly and professional service and they take credit cards too. My only complaint with these vaccination clinics is that there's only a two-hour window for the shots for both dogs and cats. Trying to keep a room full of dogs calm when there are also cats in line seemed to be very trying for a lot of people. Of course, this wouldn't be as much of an issue if more people brought their cat in a carrier rather than just attempting to hold the cat in the line. I saw several scratched up necks. But honestly, holding a cat in your arms when there's a line of barking dogs? Who does that? read more

I have taken my dog to this place for grooming multiple times and each time my dog comes out looking like he was thrown into a lawn mower. I didn't make a big deal the first couple of times thinking mabey my dog was giving them a hard time staying still, but this last time was worse than all the other times. They didn't put any care into his haircut and when I came to drop him off at his appointment time there was another dog on the counter that was not even halfway done. I feel like they rushed and booked too many dogs at the same time, so now I have paid for a haircut that made my dog look worse than when I brought him in. The haircut all around is uneven, you can see indentations of where the buzzer was inserted, and he looks bald in some parts. I got 20 percent off for this atrocity but why should anyone pay for their dog to look worse than when brought in? If I wanted it to look like I did the job at home I would have done that and saved my money. Never again. If you take your dog here be prepared to throw away your money. read more

Bring rabies record each time you go because they will lose it in their 'system update'. We had booked an appt a week out for grooming. Got there today to be told they couldn't find him/us in the system so they didn't have his rabies shot on record. Then they did find that he was there 3 mos ago for nail trimming and that the last rabies record they had on file expired 2 years ago. I explained we had updated it the last time we were there, obviously, to get his nails trimmed. Apparently their system update didn't hold onto that information. No apologies from staff, none from the manager for that error on their part. We won't be back. read more

I want anyone that has a pet do not take your pet to the petco in Stafford on 610 they are horrible I watched one of the workers sitting down because she was to large to stand gromming a little dog yelling and and yanking the poor baby yelping so I reported it and now that they found out it was me and told me I should go else where.If you value your babies stay away . if it wasn't for Tom I would never of gone there in the first place it's always dirty never clean. I try not to complain about anything, but this service was deplorable!!!! I have no idea how this grooming center is able to stay open! My poor little girl had a few bald spots, where she had been nicked to her skin. Her legs were all different lengths. She looked like a very inexperienced person had at her with a dull pair of sheers. Her nails were clipped not grounded so they had jagged edges. They told me they thought she could benefit from the deluxe package that would include conditioner and her teeth brushed. I said sure whatever you think. There's no way either of those two things happened because she had dry flakes so bad on her skin, it got all over me in the car, and her face was still stained. I washed her myself after getting home. I used simple baby soap and the tear stains came completely out and there were no more flakes anywhere on her. All I did was take an extra 5 minutes to wash her and rub her down really good! She's all of 9 lbs. I've never seen anything like it in my life. I usually always use PetSmart but the groomer I use there left and we moved so Petco is now closer. I will never be returning to Petco ever for anything. I didn't even go back to pick up her blanket they neglected to return to me. Her head wasn't finished which was fine ...she had gotten stressed apparently, so I finished her head and face after getting her home. However, I was charged for the full deluxe package and I even gave the guy a tip. In all fairness he was very nice and polite, but I never would have paid the $60 or tipped him if I had seen her prior to paying! No wonder they have you pay before returning your dog! I wanted to scream, but I'm a nurse, and I learned long ago to hold my tongue. However since you sent the survey I had to say something!! It's shameful. I work hard for my money and I love my fur babies with all my heart and it pisses me off that anyone would bring out a dog in that state and charge full price number one and number two claim they did stuff they clearly didn't do for my poor little baby! Never again! I've ordered everything I need to groom her at home. After this experience I will never use groomers again... my poor baby shivered in fear the whole way home. She never ever did that when I picked her up from PetSmart she was always her usual happy tail wagging self after a grooming. This clearly traumatized her as much as it totally pissed me off!!!!! read more

Nivani was a wonderful groomer and handled our dog with care, was gentle, and very kind! It was our dogs first time to the groomers and she was very patient with her to get her use to the dryers. Would highly recommend! read more

This location keeps getting worse! I'm not sure if they changed management or what, but it's always a mess, never fully stocked, can never find what I actually came for. PetCo is usually great, but this location is why I have shifted 98% of my business to PetSmart. read more

I went in for bedding for my guinea pigs. The second I hit the store, the stench of uncleaned cages overwhelemed me. It was HORRID. I was there a month and a half ago for a vaccine clinic for my cat (who was in a carrier!), and it wasn't near as bad. I had to grab the bedding, and zip out the door. It was all I could do before gagging on the stench. Even the adoption center litter boxes for the kittens reeked! It was horrid. I generally always go to Pet Smart because its closer to my home. But I recently just got a hedgehog and the breeder said that the saucer wheel was available at Petco, so I figured I would give it a shot. Once I walked it I liked the set up and the staff instantly knew where everything was when we asked for help. They were all extremely nice and helpful...even the people in the grooming. Also when I went to go check out dog food, they had a lot of options that I haven't been able to find at other pet stores except for the ones back home. I use to give my puppy a all organic and natural food that got crazy good ratings but when I moved up here I couldn't find it anywhere and this place had it! But since I had to switch his food I did see that their dog food was a couple of bucks cheaper :) If I was just starting out with a pet I think I'd get the pet at Pet Smart but get all the supplies at Petco. Petco was simply more organized and it was a lot easier to find things. I didn't see a lot of pets though..so that's why I suggested going to Pet Smart for your pet..the only real small animals I saw were two cute ferrets. read more

Place has been very helpful and fair to me I like petco would recommend anyone go there for pet advice and new pets or pet supplies
