The new manager of the grooming salon, Brooke, is unfriendly, our Golden Retriever doesn't even like her (which ought to tell you something), and she told us we should find another place to get our sweet dog groomed because she apparently didn't like the blow dryers, and she could not guarantee the grooming would be done in less than 4 hours. I signed up for the VIP treatment, which would have meant my dog would be seen right away, but the person who booked my appointment overbooked the groomer, so I was forced to leave my dog for over 3 hours instead of the 2 - 2-1/2 hours I signed up for. We have been going to this Petco for over 20 years with several different dogs. The previous manager, Paige, was great, but she is out with back surgery. Plus, just try to get help finding the right dog food. I needed Pro Plan Large Breed Adult Chicken and Rice formula, but ended up having to find it myself. We like to support local business whenever we can, but not when the employees are incompetent, unfriendly, and dismissive. Chewy.com is cheaper and delivers to my door for free. KennelWood has a much more customer-friendly staff, and they will be our groomers going forward. read more

This location of Petco has done a fantastic job of curbside pick-up outside the store. You can place orders online and you call when you arrive for curbside pickup. The online ordering system checks with current stock availably in real time and is very helpful. Thank You Petco for adapting to these trying times for your customers. I've been going to this location every 2-3 days for the past several months for crickets for my bearded dragon. The staff is always very friendly, never had a problem with the merchandise, and I'm typically in and out in about 10 minutes. Occasionally purchase tank accessories and other pet food, but these guys are my go-to for crickets. read more

I literally will never return to this location. As a first time dog mom, they didn't explain much to me regarding her grooming services. They literally spent approximately 30 minutes with her after saying the service should be about an hour and 30 minutes. She looked the exact same as when I dropped her off. Her nails were as sharp as when I left her. The groomer seemed clueless and lacked communication skills. I wouldn't go to this location if you have a small puppy. Thomas Raymond lost his name tag. Fortunately, it came off while he was in the house eating a treat. I went April 8 to Petco to get a new name tag with his name, my name, address and phone number. When I walked in, I was approached by a couple associates, one of whom stayed with me through the situation and the selection of the new name tag. You select your tag and pay for it. Then, you proceed to the kiosk to create your baby's name tag. I went to the kiosk, entered appropriate information, double-checked it 15 times (hey, you can never be too correct) and went with it. We just got our first dog and went to Petco and they were great! I want to give a special shout out to David. This might have been the best customer service I have ever experienced. When we first walked in he greeted us and asked if we needed anything. He also made our very shy dog feel comfortable. You could tell he had alot of experience with dogs and knew what he was talking about. He then proceeded to walk us around the store and help us find everything we needed. Each product he explained what his dog used and whether he would recommend it or not. He was very passionate about the products and very friendly. HORRIBLE customer service. Grooming salon messed up my appointment. The manager Shannon and the groomer Patrick were very rude and arrogant. The salon messed up my dogs (intended) haircut appointment and only booked/gave him a bath and then those two blamed me for it. Patrick hung up on me with my dog in the store's possession and Shannon excused it. If you are ok with having your dog have the wrong service, being talked down to, hung up on, blamed for their mistake, and generally disrespected this is a good location for you. The store is generally well stocked and I love bringing my pups in to say hi and pick out treats/toys. Front of the store staff is always helpful and nice, they mostly seem to genuinely like their job. However, unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the grooming staff. They are often curt, miserable, and vocal about being unhappy. It's off putting...I've met one girl who makes appointments that was really sweet, but every other interaction I've had with the groomers makes me question bringing my dogs back. I don't want them to be cut by groomers with such negative energy but unfortunately is the only close option available. read more

Michelle, the manager is phenomenal and helped me with every concern I have with my new puppy, guided me to which treats to get, toys, and even recommended me on vaccines! She was so helpful, and upbeat which you don't see often from store employees. Give that women a raise! She is AMAZING!! Only complaint about this Petco was how dark it is inside. Difficult to find what you want and be difficult to read the label. read more

Salesperson Michaela (sp?) wouldn't sell fish to person with a disability. So, I went up to Petco in Creve Coeur to buy some mollies and fancy guppies for a tank I recently set up. I've been buying fish there for close to ten years now. I should add the disclaimer that I have a physical disability that requires me to use an electric wheelchair. I haven't been out much due to Covid and because I don't drive. However, on this particular day, a couple of friends offered to give me a ride. When we arrived at Petco, I took some time to find the fish that I wanted. Unfortunately, when I was finished looking, there wasn't a salesperson to be found. After waiting around for some time, one of my friends went up to the front where 3 salespeople were standing around talking to each other. My friend then came back and said someone was on their way. Roughly another 5-10 minutes passed before Michaela (sp?) showed up and began asking me about my tank setup. I told her I had a 75 gallon tank that had been up and running for more than 48 hours. She replied that the tank needed to be cycled more before I could put fish in it. I then stated that I've been raising fish for over 20yrs and it had never been a problem before. She then asked me if I brought in a water sample. I told her I did not have a sample and that my water had been conditioned properly. Michaela (sp?) then stated she couldn't sell me fish that day. I was left completely speechless and utterly embarrassed! What made things worse was the fact that one of my friends then said he wanted some fish for his aquarium. Michaela (sp?) only asked him the size of his tank. He stated it was a 60 gallon. That was good enough for her. She asked him which fish he was interested in. Upon seeing the shock on my face, that she would help him, but not me, he said forget it and they don't deserve our service. As we were leaving the store, I couldn't help but think about how poorly I was treated. Especially compared to how my friend was treated. I don't ever like to think my disability causes me to be treated differently, but when everything else in this scenario is equal, it's hard not to come to this conclusion? Who has ever heard of Petco denying to sell fish to a customer? Extremely disappointed would be an understatement! read more

This place is convenient if you need something quick. They supply some brands but not a wide selection. The workers are always welcoming and more than happy to assist. Tried their obedience training classes a while back. The trainer quit after 2 classes and the manager was professional and very helpful in offering a refund or the option to continue on with a new trainer. read more

It's fine. I'm assuming that they have a staffing issue because all three times I have been there, they have been pallets full of stuff all over the store. Thank goodness for the OOPS station because for some reason, my dog goes to the bathroom IMMEDIATELY upon stepping into this store. No where else though, strangely. The cashier is a doll. This Petco is just what the stars say - A-OK! Nothing more, nothing less. BF and I adopted a puppy this spring. We don't buy everything for her from Petco but have been here easily a dozen times since then. We bought our "essentials" here before she came home with us - small puppy crate, few toys, brush, leash, etc. The staff has never been helpful or whatever when we're shopping. However, there is always someone ready at the checkout. They also have a rewards program where you get $$ back. read more

I really do like this pet co. They are older, and smaller than some of the other ones I have been in, but it is close, and gets the job done. My pros list with this location are as followed: -amazing VETCO team... I have taken my kitten to get some of her shots here and the team that puts on VETCO are amazing and great with the animals and their owners! -super friendly management/employees -pretty good selection of items -they have even gone above and beyond by setting aside and holding cases of food for me so I can purchase a whole case of the food that I want at a time... and even special ordering food for me My one real con... -I strongly dislike that I have to log on to pet cos website to load on my pals rewards to my membership card. I know that this isn't the stores fault, it's the company... But really? They should just be loaded on the card when I have a reward... Or else they expire, and that kind of sucks. This place is pretty OK for a Petco. I'm just not a fan of the layout, it always feels so cramped and a little dull in here but that's true of every Petco I've been in. Everyone's always friendly and I love the wide selection of treats. They have big bins where you can scoop up as many as you want and pay by the pound, like a candy store. Downside is those bins are right by the checkout and my dog can reach them. I have to watch him like a hawk to make sure he's not helping himself as I'm standing in line. Chances are they'll have what you want here, and they're pretty generous with the $5 off $25 coupons. They're also awesome about supporting local charities. They had a booth at Strut your Mutt, giving out tennis balls, bandanas and the aforementioned coupons. Good on you for giving back to the community, Petco! read more

I do not know what the cashier mikayla had for breakfast this morning but her attitude made it seem like someone peed in her Cheerios. She was extremely rude because my dog was a little nervous about being around other dogs and she basically yelled at me to lock my leash. There are other ways to go about it but she was super unprofessional. I wouldn't have brought my dog but I needed her to fit a collar. But maybe she needs a little more customer service training. Also, I bought a new tag for my dog and when I was finished checking out, she told me that I can use the machine, but make sure I "stay out of the way for people checking out". Well that is hard considering where the machine is placed. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

Great service today! The pretty girl with tattoos was super helpful, gave us a discount card, and got my Doberman right in! We did the full groom and I'm super happy with the nails! I took my dog in today for a grooming appointment. The appointment was originally for 3:15 but I got a call and asked if I could come early. I said sure and could be there at 2pm. When I get there with my dog that has to take anxiety medicine before appointments I was met with the worst cahier/check in person I have ever encountered. She clearly did not want to be at work and made it quite clear she was ready to leave. She was annoyed that I needed to call the vet for a vaccination verification. At that time I made the decision to take my dog by home. I did not feel comfortable with her around my dog and did not trust her to be patient with him while he got use to new surrounding. when I informed her I would like to cancel her snotty response was okay ,bye. I now understand why they wanted me to come earlier , they were ready to leave for the day. read more

I've been trying to adopt a cat from this place for a couple days now. I FINALLY get ahold of the volunteer I apparently need to even let him out of his cage and she put it off another day. This cat is miserable in the cage they have him in. While on the phone with this volunteer I told her this is my only night off this week from work and I would really prefer if we could do this today at some point. She then told me "I'm the only one who volunteers and I made plans with my boyfriend so no." THIS CAT IS MISERABLE AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SHE CAN BE THIS SELFISH. If you're trying to adopt a cat or any other animal I suggest trying Petsmart. I got my other cat from there and the beauty of that place is it's simple and you can actually play with the animals and make their day. Thank you for your time. read more

I've been taking my dog to Petco to be Groomed almost the entire time I've had her, or at least 5 years! I called because my dog had gotten very muddy and she needed a bath and they were open late. Patrick saw us and took great care of her. She came back looking fantastic! Dakota has been going to Patrick ever since!! I have my parents bringing their 3 dogs to him at Petco and my sister brings her dog to him. Plus I referred a couple of friends that now come to the Creve Coeur Petco for their dog grooming. I won't take my dog anywhere else. Patrick takes such good care of my dog as do all of the employees! I do highly recommend Petco in Creve Coeur for grooming! read more

Don't buy fish from this location. Two fish we recently bought killed my entire tank within days with an ick infection. You can imagine how my kids feel. Of course, no one was willing to take any responsibility or offer anything to make it right. Frankly, this store has been awful with all of our pet issues. It's a small location and often does not have what we need in the store. Be prepared for poor service, and then be prepared for complete indifference to the fact that they provided poor service. A perfect example of why Amazon is demolishing brick and mortar. read more

We love this store. We were looking for kennels for our small dog and a new puppy. We found the perfect one by Petmate which has a top opening and a front opening. I found it on display at Petco. I was talking to one of the salesmen there and he said to check the price on line at the Petco site because it could be on sale online but not in the store. Sure enough it was. So at checkout we were charged the online sale price. Saved almost $15 each!! The service at this store is always great - someone is always around to answer questions. They carry Wellness dog foods (which our dogs thrive on) and the store is very clean. We will never step foot in a PetSmart store again because of the quality of Petco stores. read more

I keep coming back to Petco because of Paige. She knows my dog (and now dogs). She is incredibly knowledgeable about her work and animals in general. I've been taking my dog to her for years. At one point she noticed something unusual, called my vet... it turned out she basically saved my dogs life when the vet discovered he had skin cancer. We historically have loved this Petco location and have taken our dog there for baths and haircuts several times and didn't have a problem until the last 2 appointments. The first problematic appointment left our puppy with 2 cuts on his face. We were disappointed and worried but knew they were very busy so thought we would give them one more chance. This last appointment we asked for a bath and hair cut. We picked him up and while his hair was washed and brushed out, it had not been visibly cut at all. His hair was just as long as it was when we dropped him off. Additionally, with his hair brushed out, he could not see very well. My husband asked them if they could trim up the area around his eyes so he could see and they said no, they did not have the time. We were charged for a hair cut our dog never received. We are extremely disappointed with these last 2 visits and will not be going back. read more

I have taken my dogs here for years to be groomed. Patrick, Molly, and the whole team is excellent. Paige especially puts me at ease, she is so knowledgeable and knows my dogs so well. Staff at this location was extremely rude this evening. When I first came in, there were two staff employees at the counter just standing and staring. I said "hello" and neither of them spoke. I found what I needed and was walking through the treats aisle and an older woman came up to me and said "Um, can I help you because we close like, now." They didn't close for another 5 minutes and I was on my way out... My late visit was necessary for my pet's care and I was walking out right at close. I completely understand being ready to go home but this was overboard. Good stop and go store, but service tonight was not great. read more
