Dalton and Amanda were especially helpful when I needed to simply exchange 2 items that were not found in the system (despite JUST picking them up yesterday) and also that customer service couldn't even help with. I love this Petco - for a long time we've used it for our small pet needs! But today we had some weird things come up, that often get talked about for Petcos. It was not like this for several years in a row but this time it had gotten the old Petco problem of dirty stuff and badly kept pets for sale! The white mice especially were in rusted cages. It looked awful and chewing on rust isn't safe! The guinea pigs appeared scared, agitated, and looked scary. We wanted to buy a small travel case for our new hamster but the one we picked up to buy was dirty inside! We left empty-handed. read more

Love it here! We started coming here after getting our handsome charcoal lab. It's a pet store, so pets are welcomed! This is Tyson's favorite place to go. Everyone here knows him by name. The employees are all amazing and take the time to get to know you as well as your pet. I always come in with a million questions and not only are they patient, they are extremely knowledgeable and willing to help. I get coupons all the time from my purchases. I almost always have at least 5 dollars off each time I shop here. I also fostered (then adopted) a cat that I picked up from here through GRASP. GRASP does events all the time like free vaccines for your pets. I usually see them at Petco on Saturdays when I bring my baby to obedience school. Amalia (spelling??), is our puppy class instructor she is the best! She makes us want to come to class and challenges our dog and us. We have learned so much from her. Obedience class is $120 for 6 weeks of classes. If you do a second package of 6 week classes, there is a discount. Tyson has taken Puppy 1 and is currently taking Puppy 2. I'm very glad we decided to come here and I recommend to everyone who may be thinking about it. We will miss the classes when Tyson graduates, but we will be back to visit. Thank you Petco!! ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE! Terrible service as my wife and I were walking in, we were stopped by an employee who told us they had just closed which was perfectly fine since we got there past 8pm (there closing time) what made this place the absolute worst was that after they turned me around at the door a white gentleman was walking towards the store I informed him the store was closed and kept walking past and was approached by the same employee who stopped me but instead of stopping him, they let him walk right on in and do his purchases! Now I'm not one to just throw the word racism out there but that's definitely what it felt like to me! Never returning to this location! read more

We have a long-haired domestic cat named Coriander. We used to have her groomed through our regular veterinarian, but they have since discontinued that service. The vet recommended PetCo and we scheduled an appointment to have Coriander groomed. Marion, the groomer at PetCo in Greece, NY was FANTASTIC. She had a great demeanor with our cat and did an excellent job. After trimming Coriander in the traditional "lion cut" (which looks great), Marion cleaned Coriander's ears, trimmed her nails, and worked quickly; we were in and out in less than 45 minutes. Her assistant (whose name I didn't catch, sorry) was great as well. I would recommend anyone in the Rochester area who needs feline grooming services to choose PetCo and ask for Marion. She is talented and delightful! read more

They charged me for something I didn't purchase and when I went in to resolve it they treated me horribly. They would not listen to reasoning and eventually I had two grown men verbally berating me for asking for a refund. It was insane. They should both be fired immediately.. I left the store crying. read more

Signed up for Puppy Training Classes for My 9 week old Yellow Lab. Amalia runs the classes; a young Lady with loads of energy and sincerely loves dogs! We dropped out of the Puppy Class after 3 sessions because there were a couple ill behaved Dogs in the class that Amalia didn't seem to know how to control, one of them pounced on our Lab and slobbered everywhere while she insisted the behavior was appropriate. We did Not. Also visited and made use of the weekly Sat. Vaccination Clinic for My older Lab. Took an hour or so standing in line, but the Veterinarian was extremely helpful answering questions and the shots needs were less expensive than paying $37.00 plus for an Office Visit to our regular Vet. Overall, I'm impressed with the selection and number of Services offered. read more

This isn't my top pick when it comes to shopping for the dogs. There prices are a little higher than their competitors. I definitely don't use them for nail trims because they are costly compared to other places. Recently, my boyfriend and I were in this store looking for a fish tank that they sadly discontinued. We were looking for betta fish, since mine recently passed. I saw a girl cleaning all the little bowls and asked her if I could look while she worked because we wanted to add three fish to our family. As someone who used to work in customer service I understand getting frustrated while trying to perform a task with a silly customer bothering your work groove. This girl was super chill with my silly request and we purchased 3 baby betta fish! read more

I went here earlier today to get a few fish. The women that was cashing people out was really nice. I asked her for help with the fish and she called someone to help. I waited for 10 minutes and no one came. Saw two more employees on their phones talking. I went up to the nice lady again to see if she can help me. She said "I'm so sorry I will call for help again." I said "thanks" waited another 10 minutes, still no one came. Now, there is two more customers that need help in the fish area. We waited another 10 minutes. Now it's been 30 minutes waiting with no one to come. The other customer went up to ask the lady. I wanted a few more minutes. Just kept seeing other employees on their phones not helping the girl that was cashing people out or the customers. I left and went to Petsmart instead. I took my dogs there to get groomed and they cut the quick on one of the dogs nail. It bled for about two hours after he came home. Kristen, who works in the store, always has a bad attitude and is rude. Maybe think twice about working with the public if you obviously don't like it. Go to Petsmart down the road. Good groomers and much friendlier employees. read more

I have been here several times with my fiancée to get her puppy items and have taken Ollie for his grooming as well. The service we receive for his grooming is always good and I have no complaints. Their service is good as well. The employees are usually courteous and helpful and if they cannot answer a question they will try to find someone who can. The place is clean and organized. The selection of things is plentiful, from terrariums to aquariums, cat and dog supplies, grooming supplies, and they have puppy school as well. I am not too sure how much things are supposed to cost but it seems reasonable, perhaps a little more than I'd like to pay, but I let it slide since it is a specialty store. Otherwise I have no qualms with petco. read more

First time to have my dog groomed at Petco...NEVER AGAIN! My appointment was at 11 and they told me 12:30/1 at the latest but they would call me. My normal groomer grooms her in 1.5 hours. At 1:30 I still had not heard anything so I went to the store.the girl who was suppose to be grooming my dog was cutting another dogs nail. I said you must have forgot to call me where is my dog? She said she was drying in a cage and she still needed another 15 minutes to finish her feet because she was being bad. After the girl pulled out my dog she put a cone on her(this is ok so just in case she did nip) and started cutting her...she was less than a 3rd done?! Not just her legs...her belly back side and face still needed to be cut. My dog was falling off the table squirming. I told her she was going to hurt my dog and she needed someone to come hold her as I am not allowed on their side of her gate due to insurance issues. The girl had no control of her amotions and started getting angry with the dog and yanking her back up on the table. I said just forget it I want my dog back....she said something mumbling to one of the other employees (I'm sure not favorable to me) and said she had to talk to the manager as to how much to charge me.....also my dog was dry when she gave her to me so leaving her in the cage with a drier on her was not necessary for that length of time. The girl marched past me all flushed and looked like she was about to cry and punch something. The manager came out and asked me what happened ...I explained along with showing her how little the dog had been groomed in 2.5 hours...I told her the girl was rude and very rough with my dog.She said no charge and she would talk to her. My dog is a small shitzu and isn't the best for grooming but the lady at the Dog Wash in Brockport says that her only issue is her feet and she is always done nice when I pick her up. Lastly the drive home she layed by my side on the seat and didn't move....when we got into the house she drank and drank and drank. Between being stressed out there and being in a cage with a drier on her for who knows how long she was parched. I felt terrible for her and I am sure I have made her now hate getting groomed just that much more. read more
