1 Star - Very Disappointing Experience This evening my wife and I went into the Petco in Midlothian, TX at 7:46 PM. The store was slow, with only one customer checking out, yet the level of service was terrible. I spent about 20 minutes in the fish department and not a single employee came by to offer help. My wife asked Kevin, the night manager, if someone could assist me. He called over a young lady with burgundy hair, who told my wife, "I'll help him soon, I just need to turn off the reptile tank lights." During that time, we made eye contact multiple times, but she never acknowledged me or said a word. When she finally came over, her attitude was rushed and unfriendly. She asked, "Do you know what you want and how many?"--very much a hurry-up tone. While waiting, I noticed dead fish in multiple tanks throughout the department. Because of this, I told her never mind and decided not to buy anything. I then spoke directly to Kevin and asked what was going on. He told me they were having serious pH water issues and that the tanks should be quarantined. Yet they are still selling these sick fish. I've been a loyal customer at this location for years, but between the lack of customer service, poor attitude, and knowingly selling unhealthy fish, I've lost confidence in this store. Unfortunately, I'll be taking my pet business elsewhere. Thank you for the response. I'm requesting contact from corporate or an area/regional manager with a direct phone number or email. Calling the store number will not resolve this issue, as Kevin (the night manager involved) answered the phone when I just called. This concern goes beyond an in-store discussion, and I would appreciate escalation to the appropriate level of management. read more

Do NOT go to this Petco for grooming purposes. By far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. These people do not know how to properly groom or handle dogs. If you want your dog to endure stress and anxiety, make sure to go here; That is their specialty. read more

I took my pup in yesterday for a bath and haircut. Brii was his technician and his haircut came out looking horrible. It looks like he has mange . I will never go back. I'll just make the trip to petsmart in waxahachi. read more

What an awful store! It's terribly laid out & understaffed so you can't even find what you came for. I left & went to Walmart. As far as layouts Petsmart's the best. read more

When I spend $70 on my dog's grooming services, I expect a decent cut. That's not what I got today. He looks like a child got ahold of a pair of clippers and gave him a haircut. Nice. PetCo May be convenient, but it's obviously not where you want to take your dog to get a quality haircut or a good price! I'll stick to Amazon for dog supplies, and a local groomer in town. read more

Christian is the best groomer we have taken our dogs to in over 30 years. We hope that she's always available for our Holly.

We have our dogs groomed at the Midlothian location. They treat our dogs with care. The dogs have no problem going to the back for their grooming. Our previous experience with a competitor in Waxahachie was quite the opposite. Our dogs fought going to the back and just wanted out of the grooming area. We stopped going there because of this. Your dogs will let your know if they are being treated well or not. Listen to them. read more

Took my dog in for grooming. What a nightmare! They chopped her so terribly! Worst experience ever. I had to take her to a local groomer to get her looking normal. Prices are very competitive at a local groomers. Go elsewhere!!! read more

We had been going to this location just for nail trimming ever since they opened. We were always told to come any time, 7 days a week, and they would squeeze us in. Today (Friday) I walk in and am told they only do nail trims Monday through Thursday and we couldn't be squeezed in. Off to the cedar hill location where they gladly squeezed me in and will do so 7 days a week. This will be my new location from now on. Very disappointed in the Midlothian location!! read more

Just adopted a bearded dragon recently, so I've had to stop by a few times. I didn't catch any of their names, but I interacted with at least 4 or 5 of this location's employees and every single one of them were friendly and helpful. Can't ask for anything more than that. read more

Great new location in Midlothian Towne Crossing. Very clean. Our dog loves Tara the groomer. The groomers listened to our concerns regarding our dog (skittish) and spent time getting to know her. They did a wonderful job with her cut and style. Very helpful staff. read more

I normally love coming to Petco to get my babies groomed, brooke Beth and brii have been doing my babies for the better part of a year now and my girls love them. Last time I came in to get dog food I figured I'd go ahead and set them up a appointment, a dark haired girl I'd never seem before was at the counter and I tried to get her attention, I guess something pretty important was on her phone because after failing to get her attention I gave up. I called a few hours later and Beth scheduled my girls a trim with brii. I will continue to bring my lily and rose in to see my 3 favorite groomers read more

Wanted to buy some special dog food and do curbside pickup but it wasn't listed online. So called the store and yes they had it available but I would have to come into the store to purchase. I explained I had lung problems and needed to do curbside but couldn't order it online as it wasn't listed. Manager said only could get it if I came into the store. I'm not risking my life for dog food! Tried to make a complaint to the corporate office and was told they would inform the store manager of the complaint. Considering the complaint was about the store manager that seemed ridiculous. Will not purchase from them in future. read more

Our FIRST grooming experience at this location was a nightmare. It resulted in an almost $300 vet bill, 3 antibiotics, and a miniature poodle that STILL can't bear weight on her back leg due to a bacterial infection. One of the grooming associates told me that my dog most likely had the infection before she got there however her paws were fine before she was dropped off. Our poodle has been getting groomed for several years and we have NEVER experienced this before. We won't be back that's for sure. Please proceed with caution!!!!!!!!!! read more

This place has amazing and polite staff but almost every time I come they never have the proper supplies/bugs for my lizards I have a bearded dragon and a east Indonesian gecko which only need like super worms but they never have them and this is a big issue because my bearded dragon Athena, who I defiantly did not buy here eats horned worms most of the time simply because I have my own Dubai colony and they never have them. I am only 14 but I own many terrestrial and aquatic animals and I recommend do not come here to get an animal or find worms for your lizards read more
