I definitely base my reviews on multiple occurrences to stay semi unbiased. I originally chose this store when I adopted my new dog and needed same day essentials (crate, food, etc) so in that case any pet store cover those types of needs. Not only was I left without any help when asking for certain products (guess it was just the wrong crew on staff) but a second and third run there was still a desolate environment. I figured since it was close enough then why not sign up for their Vital Care and get some other essentials covered one of which was a vet visit. I setup my appointment. Confirmed on two separate occasions from automated texts. Arrived 10 minutes early as required and text their automated number. Directions said to wait in the car until called but after 10 minutes I felt like something was wrong. Soon to find out it was an understated thought. I walk in only to see two lines of pets and parents waiting to check-in and after waiting another 10 minutes to check-in to confirm I had an appointment which many others did not, I had to step out since my dog was in the car. This chaotic zoo is poorly run and honestly, I'm surprised it has survived this long! Oh wait, taking advantage of pet parents that have no other means or knowledge of other resources. That's how. Keep in mind this is been happening for over a year but now it's just frustrating.I'm surprised they don't teach these young kids what supply and demand means. The manager is really young. This may sound petty but I get worms a lot for my beer to Dragon and every time I go in there there are no worms. they indicate that once they get in Friday everyone takes them so I said in that case order more and his thoughts were then people would buy more and I said yes and they would not go to other places but pretty much refuse to buy anymore. On top of that there must've been 12 employees there a line of six people and if they can open another line he said no one is available they're short staffed.My thinking is that they only brought one cashier but 11 other people they must have anticipated a busy day Petsmart here I come read more

Worst place to take your pet for grooming. I paid $66 and I pick up my dog completely shaven down. She tends to get little knots due to her curly hair, but from experiences at other groomers this is THE FIRST to ever shave her down this bad. Apparently I said it was okay to shave her down and that's far from what I requested. I asked from them to keep it as long as they could, but clearly they couldn't do that simple job right. She's a pup with medium long curly hair. Her breed isn't meant to be shaven down. Especially her tail. Worst experience ever. I wish I could get a refund some how, but instead I'm here warning who ever reads these reviews. I don't know if it's the lack of experience or what, but do not bring your dog here. read more

I'm really glad this location exists, because it's not quite as busy as some of the others and has ample parking and is easy to get in and get what you need and get out in a timely manner. I've been able to find everything that I've purchased at other locations and think it's great that they offer pet adoptions there too. Even though the area isn't the greatest, the store was clean and neat. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars yet is because I haven't gotten to experience/witness (things like grooming & seeing how they are with the dogs, etc.) this location fully or utilize everything they offer, but I'm encouraged by what I saw on my first visit there and will stop by again in the near future for more products for my 4-legged children! read more

This place is pretty lazy nowadays, I ordered a bunch of stuff to be picked up from this place and they weren't taking their jobs seriously or somethingBecause they were taking too long . There were little no none customers in there as it was, and the staff was very hard to find. I had been taking Cody my dog to see Tino at the Petco in La Canada for years. He is now at the totally new Petco in NoHo and Cody went in for a groom on opening day. My friend and I came in to get a green anole. We had called about 15 minutes prior to see if we were able to reserve one but the guy told us that they couldn't. We took our chances. We show up and there was a putrid, disgusting, repulsive smell in the store. I swear my friend and I were about to throw up. We went to the front desk to ask for help and the guy calls for a lady to help us. She walks with us to the reptile section and she bombards me with a series of questions like "How large is the place that you're keeping the anole in?" "Do you have another anole?" "Is this is your first time taking care of an animal?" "What does your anole habitat look like?" Anyways, she made me feel uncomfortable and she had a major attitude... Then she asks us if we were 18. We told her that we aren't, and she told us in a rude way that we were unfit to get an animal. We were upset because this was never brought up on the phone and it sort of a waste of time for us to go. We then asked if we could at least get a fish, and she tells us that she can't sell any living animal to us. Totally absurd. A kid can go to a carnival and get a goldfish... We went to a PetSmart before this place for a green anole, and they didn't ask us any questions regarding our qualifications for an animal. She patronized us and purposefully made it so that we couldn't get any animals. If I'm able to take care of myself, I'm more than qualified to take care of a small anole. I have experience in pet care (12 years with a dog) so I know how to take care of one. Anyways, this place sucks. The employees are cut-throat in behavior and I totally suggest avoiding this dump. Would rate a 0 star if it was possible. We went to another Petco after this and we bought our animals with no problems. read more

This store just opened a few months ago and it was much needed in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a self-wash section if you want to wash your dog and they also have a groomer on hand. They offer training classes for you and your dog. It's almost never crowded. It's clean and well stocked. No complaints so far. read more

Wost service ever. I had made an appointment, they canceled and said they would call back. They never did so I called to make an appointment. The morning of I called to move it half an hour later. I get there, both groomers were on lunch at the time of our appointment. When someone finally gets to us they can't find my appointment. Blame it on me, I stead of saying sorry for not being organized. Now, my dog was homeless for a while so she's a traumatized dog. It was tough to get her in. They told me they would call me if she gets too aggressive and would abort grooming her. Fine, no problem. But then she calls back to say where we went because we had to sign papers. She never said to hold on, just left. Mind you, this was our first time grooming a dog. And will be our last at this location. read more

As good as it gets! A brand new store with all state of the art stations! I looked over the food, treats, and toys, and was greatly impressed by the quality and selection of the products. Most of all I was incredibly impressed with the grooming station and Tino who took care of both of my dogs. The station is beautiful, clean, and efficient. Tino examined both dogs upon arrival, asked all pertinent questions, was incredibly caring and did an amazing job! When I picked up my dogs, both could not be happier! Clearly they had bonded with Tino, were well groomed and well taken care of. I can only give the highest rating to the store and specifically to Tino as the head groomer. read more

The beginning of the month when I went to buy the food for my cat, because it was my birthday one of the employers offer me another book of discounts.. today because I was running I completely forgot the book I went to the store and I explain to the cashier... she wasn't helpful at all and even question my honesty. Let me start of by saying I usually don't write reviews but this is the absolute WORST grooming experience ever ! First when I came in the groomer ( I can't remember her name but she has red hair ) can't be bothered to say hi or anything, she has the worst attitude! That should've been my first red flag. Three hours later they call saying they couldn't finish my dog because she was moving too much and that I have to bring her back so the grooming manager can finish her . We have taken our girl to the groomers multiple times and that's never been an issue . I get there and see my girl and they completely butchered her. It's the worst haircut I've ever seen on a dog and my dog looks so stressed . They cut her shorter than I asked , they completely shaved her backside, there are long hairs in the creases of the legs , and the head is completely untouched . I brush my girl regularly and she might have had a mat or two because her hair was so long but she was not matted to the point where she should've been shaven this short . I was very disappointed for first time taking my dog to have a bath here. No ring nothing for grooming registration. I booked 5.45 pm. They texted me back to postpone to 5pm. I said i will be late because i work that day. They didn't say anything. I was there at 5.20pm. She asked me for a vaccination proof. I forgot but i tried to find picture from my phone. It seemed she didn't want to wait . Tried to ask me to make an appointment later. I said no because usually i take him another place but this week the regular groomer he didn't come. If she doesn't take him today. I will wait for the regular groomer next week. Then she turned back to the room. I found it 1 minute ago. I stood there waiting so so long. I had to ask someone at the register to call. When she come she said it was to late. OMG. If you want to go home early. Please don't take any appointments at first. Wasted my time. NEVER going back for grooming. I made an online appointment for 1:00 pm. I got a call the day of the appt around 19 am asking me if I could move it up to noon because 1 pm was interfering with their lunch. Normally I'm happy to accommodate but circs wouldn't allow. Brought my dog in at 1255 and she had a small scratch below an eye. This is a recurring issue and they have accepted her in the past with it. The groomer (I'm guessing because she had to cut lunch short) says that they cant accept my dog due to the scratch. I ask her to check the records and she'll see the dog has been groomed b4 with this same issue. The groomer says no and calks the manager. After a 15 minute wait the manager shows up and says they can't take her with the scratch. I again explain that if they check they'll see the scratch gets noted on the intake, I initial it, and they take her. The manager refuses. I suppose a rule is a rule but today I felt pretty disrespected because there is apparently a situational application to the rule based on lunch!! read more

I used to take my dog, Yoshi to the Petco in La Canada. However, when Tino moves to this Petco, we followed him. Yes! He's that good! My dog doesn't mind getting groomed by Tino. Tino treats my dog with great care and compassion. I have never been disappointed with the results. I ask for the bear cut and Yoshi always comes out looking like an adorable teddy bear, even though he is a poodle. I will continue to make the drive out to Tino. I took my dog twice to this place for wash and grooming. the first time they didn't even clean my dog's ears. So I had to call them and took him back for his ears. the second time I took my dog I was very specific which area needs to be done. I dropped off my dog at exactly 5 pm, and the groomer said my dog will be done in an hour. since I didn't hear back from them at 7 pm, I decided to call them and make sure they have the right number. "we are doing your dog between other dogs" that was their response. I was shocked since I had an appointment and I was expecting guests... anyways they called me at 8:30 pm to pick him up. when I went there my dog was just washed and not groomed at all. after 3 and a half hour I just didn't understand what they were doing exactly. Since I had guests over I couldn't stay longer to talk to them so I decided to go back the day after to bring them to their attention and his paws weren't touched at all and that was the only reason I took him for grooming. I spoke to the manager and she simply replied your dog didn't let us and if you want you can take him to a different Petco. NOT GOING BACK TO PETCO AT ALL!!!
