The petco near me was out of my boys favorite off the rawhide bar so, I called this store and asked if they had a rawhide bar. Yes we do-- Hoped in the car to make the six mile drive Excuse me? Would someone please tell sales associate 6, aka Erik, that is NOT polite to tell a customer she looks stressed and that no one needs to hear out of the blue that he has grout in his feet and is in a lot of pain. The last time I shopped at this Petco, the cashier (a different one) seemed nervous, distracted and reeked like alcohol. I asked if if he had been drinking and he didn't answer me. Went to this location today to get some cat food (had a coupon specific to Petco). This place was a mess. There was stuff everywhere. There were boxes in the middle of many of the aisles...we couldn't even reach some items due to the amount of stuff everywhere. Things are hard to find here, their order makes no sense. We walked around in circles trying to find the food we wanted (is it in the natural section...no... with the other Science Diet stuff....no.... oh in a random other aisle...yup). I have been going to Petsmart for all of my puppy needs lately but decided to give Petco a try since it is closer to my apartment. Aside from a few small things, I was pretty impressed. Dislikes *You cannot take the carts outside. They have poles on them, so they cannot get through the door. If you are purchasing, say, a large box of puppy pee-pads or 50lbs of dog food, you might be in trouble *The store is not super clean *Not the best organizational setup I have seen *The prices were actually higher than Petsmart in some areas Likes *Everyone was super friendly *They have a large section of homemade doggie treats that you can get by the pound. Penny loved the peanut butter treats *They sell a lot of higher end dog foods I have not found at Petsmart *They have a really large selection of doggie outfits *I found a really awesome dog carrying bag for FIVE BUCKS! *Lots of parking close to the entrance Overall, good experience :) read more

I have been taking my dog to this Petco for about 2 years and Renae is the best ever. She has a great personality and always does a great job!! I highly recommend her as I think you will be very pleased. I have taken him in the past to a different salon which was more expensive and grooming was not as good as Renae's. Staff were all very pleasant. Store was clean and organized. There was a pet grooming area and play/pet waiting area too. Very good use of space. Anywho my beta fishes now have friends. Exciting. Limited selection, high in store prices, lower Petco.com prices, make for a frustrating experience. Staff is pleasant but sparse. Also they do not have the same merchandise in store in comparison with their website. I'm not sure if they are trying to steer customers to their website, but they were successful in one thing; preventing me from buying the kennel I saw on Petco.com that was not in the store. Quit coming here as the woman in grooming did such a poor job of clipping/grinding my dogs nails. She took about 2 min (not exaggerating), and would call me in. Couldn't tell they were even done. There would never even be another dog in there, so she didn't seem pressed for time. PetCo does a much better job.. read more

I love Petco. So much better than that other huge corporate pat place, you know who I'm talking about. The staff here is very nice, always available to help and work quickly to get you in and out of the store. I love their bone and treat bars. I hate buy the big box of treats, because 1. they are expensive and 2. my pups like a variety. The treat bar is perfect, I can just grab a few of each and be on my way. They PetPals program is awesome as well, buy 10 bags of food and get one free. At the rate my fatties eat this is a hell of a deal and it doesn't take long to get. Also, the great thing is that if you forget your Pals card for some reason, make sure to save your receipt and call their 800 number and they will add them to your account no prob. My only complain - their 800 customer service number is ridiculous! None of the reps speak English as a first language, and aren't very helpful. It took three phone calls today to get my issue resolved this morning. Great prices and friendly staff! A+ in my book! read more

Today, on the way home from work, I stopped by this location to see if there were any openings. My little guy had been in there once before for a sanitary trim and he really warmed up instantly to his groomer, Sylvia. Luckily, she had an opening and was able to take him right away. I ran home to get him and he was a little nervous at first. He is still fairly new to us. We rescued him 6 months ago and he's pretty timid around new people. She is very sweet and gentle with him. This was his first professional haircut and she made him look so good. Thank you so much Sylvia and the rest of the really awesome staff for being so kind and gentle with my little guy! This is a great Petco! The staff is always so nice! They always play with our doggy Baxter and never complain when we show up a minute before they stop giving shots on Saturdays (literally every time). Even when we got his nails done, the technician was really good with calming him down, since he was scared and getting wild. We have gotten all of his shots done here and they are not high prices. They do shots on Saturdays until 3pm and they have the best vets and techs working station. By the time we got his last shots he was barely squirming because I think he became more comfortable since the vets give him such great praise afterwards. We will definitely keep coming here for all of Baxter's needs and our other dogs need as well. read more

My review is about 2 weeks overdo. I would like to thank Petco and 2 individuals in particular: Emily & Joe for their going above and beyond in my visit a few weeks back. I had just picked up a shelter dog and was about to deliver him to his new home and he desperately needed a harness. They gave me a new Dog booklet and not only took the time to help me find what I needed but helped me entertain the doggie, Marshall, with treats. They were very helpful and grateful that I found a home for the dog and this should not go unnoticed. His new owner was also very grateful for the bag of dog food and coupons that they gave. They didn't have to do that but they did. Thank you Emily & Joe!! You make it easier for volunteers like me to do what I do. read more

Normally I am in here and everyone is super courteous ... however , today , as I looked at the signs all over the reptile enclosures that day our animals come first , I noticed they had 8 leopard geckos in one enclosure with only one hide . Usually not an issue , however this hide was so tiny that if they wanted any form of privacy , they were all crammed in the hide forced to pile on top of eachother . I then figured that's fine I'll just ask the manager if she can possibly put an extra hide in so they don't have to sleep on eachother , she replied snarky , saying that's their floor plan , over and over , saying they're fine they're fine , instead of just putting a second hide in . The red headed manager (don't remember her name ) needs to learn that the animals come first and maybe be a little more understanding when a client asks for a simple change that would take five seconds . read more

Groomer was so patient and gentle with our high anxiety dog. Both dogs came home beautiful and happy!

We bring our Enzo here every year for his annual shots. Definitely get there about 30 min. before they open as the line does get long pretty quick. The prices through VetCo are so much cheaper than a vet. While you may have to wait long in line, once it's your turn everything goes pretty quickly and efficiently. The people there are always friendly and will take care of your loved ones while they're being poked and examined. read more

Today I was having car troubles in the parking lot after picking my dog up from getting groomed. One of the petco groomers (I'm pretty sure her name was Sarah) and the manager saw my dog sitting in a puddle after her nice bath. The groomer offered to rinse off my dog again (and didn't even mention cost). She took care of the dog while I waited for the mechanic. I got my pet's shots here and it was kind of a nightmare. The staff were really friendly and the people giving the shots were friendly, but the store was filthy and noisy. There was some sort of dog get together going on up front and there were dogs barking like cray the whoel time. It was very bad planning considering it was the same time that dogs, puppies, and KITTENS/CATS are going to be waiting around for a long time to get shots. I had my cat with me and he was terrified and the barking just continued. Plus I felt like my dog was just sitting in dirt the whole time because the floors were so disgusting. I probably won't return unless I need to get shots for my pets again. read more

This petco is tiny and hardly has anything for birds other than cages, food, and dishes. Almost no perches or toys. And it has a horrible pet odor that made me sick to my stomach. It smells like a pet store that isn't cleaned regularly. Will not be going again. read more

I only use the grooming salon for my dog for the last 2yrs. I learned it depends on the stylist they have on staff. There was a wonderful lady there 2yrs ago who left and then there were 2 young girls grooming. I felt they were straight out if school. They assured me my dog would be done in 3 or less hours. 6hrs later my dog was then ready. I was so upset because I had to be at work to work a late shift. Now there is a nice male groomer. He's groomed my dog twice now and is good. He's incredibly polite and was extremely apologetic when he accidentally nipped my dogs lip. It wasn't a big deal and he was so professional. I was impressed how he handled the situation. read more

The only reason I'm leaving one star is because I can't leave none. The worst experience I've ever had at a petco, pet smart, vet, a pet anything. As everyone in the world knows about the craziness going on in the world, our usual place we take our baby closed down for now., so we decided to go to petco because she desperately needed a nail trim. As the girl began to trim her nails we heard her yelping, whimpering, and squirming crazy so we ran back to the room and informed the worker that she doesn't like leashes around her neck and the lady continued to try cutting her nails with the leash around her neck. She then took her to the back room and was in there for a good 15 minutes and when done, goes on to charge for a nail trim and nail buffing. Her nails are wayyy to short, the nails that she actually cut!! She left some long and all completely rough. I will NEVER bring my pup back here again. Super disappointed. read more

Where do I start?! Not the fanciest, cleanest store, but amazing customer service! My 7 yr old wanted 2 fish. Two betas to be exact. We all know how well 2 betas in a bowl get along, but my child is beyond persuasive & could most likely talk them into being bff's.. Maybe. Anyway, Sam, a stunning, smiley tattooed doll was incredible with my little munchkin! She bent down to her level & explained so sweetly all the ins & outs of beta life. She showed us all the pretty males but nope, my kiddo wanted to give a plain Jane girl a home so off we went picking out our fish & a cool 2 gallon circular tank to fit my budget & all the fun accessories without trying to break my bank! Fast forward, we got home, set it all up & a tiny piece was missing but they were closing in 5 min! I called & Taylor literally met us at the door even though they had closed with the piece so our tank masterpiece could be finished that night :) One other guy was also a big help, but I can't remember his name.. Sorry.. I'm writing this 2 months after the fact. Sam & Taylor were a fantastic help both times we came back to the store & they remembered us 2 months later! We will be back :) read more

Worst customer service ever by Petco and it's Salon (grooming) manager Renee. She was not friendly whatsoever. I waited one week for this appointment as I have 2 dogs and get them groomed at the same time. Also, this would have been the third time I needed to bring in proof of rabies vaccine-why can they not keep records straight; someone is dropping the ball here. I must mention that I called the day before to ask if there had been any cancellations to get my dogs in early. Shows how much I needed this appointment. I was running late 10 mins, tried calling no one answers. I'm outside their closed doors knocking and calling again and still no answer. After 12 minutes of that finally Renee answers the door to tell me they took other clients in because I was late. I explained I tried calling and have been outside waiting. Her reply "you know how appointments work; we make appointments for a reason." Unbelievable. Never coming here again! Will not recommend to friends either. She did say we can take you in tomorrow-I could not because of work etc. Seriously Petco needs better managers and customers service skills!! read more

The staff in the fish area named Julie ( easy to remember as it's the same as mine) did a great job, very knowledgeable about the fish. She was there the last 3x we were there. The only thing that makes this store good is the staff. They are always friendly, but there is a limited number of people for help. I only ever see one person working and it's the cashier, and they end up helping me with everything. My last experience I waited for help in the dog food for 10 minutes and had to leave because I was on a time crunch. As I'm leaving, the cashier is struggling to ring up a line of people which made me wonder where the other employees were that were supposed to be helping me too! The mess is tolerable to a point, but boxes and carts full of stuff are always in the way. The biggest complaint of all is the smell! Its horrible, not like pet store smell, but something dead and rotting smell as soon as you walk in it hits you like a truck. I mentioned it and someone said it is being handled, but that has been a few weeks and it's getting worse. I frequent this store because of the familiar faces, but I don't know if I can handle the smell anymore. read more

On Saturday November 1, 2014 I brought my miniature dachshund Dax to be groomed. I dropped of an energetic happy full of life dog to be groomed. When I pick him up he appeared to be a bit timid which was very unlike him. When he sees us he is normally very excited and jumping. I thought maybe he was just tired. All the groomers said was how well behaved and cute he was. Well when I got him home my dog wasn't going up the stairs like normal he went up one stair the a 5-7 second pause before attempting another. I pick my little guy up brought him into the apartment and decided to see if he would do his tricks for treats. Well, he would do nothing. He just sat there, and I gave him the treat and he barely ate it. I then called Petco and asked them what happened to my dog. they stated nothing he was fine the whole visit. I asked if maybe he jumped off the table or anything giving them every opportunity to let me know what happened. They insisted nothing happened. I then waited about an hour to see if he improved and he didn't. So, I called Petco again spoke to the manager and he spoke to grooming and all stated they were unaware on anything. I then called the vet they stated it didn't sound life threatening at the moment and to watch him over night and bring him in today. My dog slept burrowed in the closet and has never done this. He wouldn't eat or drink anything. when I took him to go potty he was clearly in pain. So, I took him to the vet today to discover my dog has sustained a trauma injury to his back. My dog is spoiled and has gotten nothing but the best of care since we have had him at 8 weeks old. he has always been active and has never sustained any injuries and our vet records prove it. I know that the breed is prone to back issues and we are very aware of his back. His back has never been injured and there was no excuse for the way he is acting since we picked him up from being groomed. My biggest complaint is that no one will tell me what happened to our dog! I went as far as suggesting that he was hyper and could have jumped when they weren't paying attention anything to try to find out what happened to my baby boy! he is now on steroids and pain killers in hopes to avoid spinal surgery. When we called Petco back and advised them of the confirmed injury they refunded the grooming fee, but still no one is talking about what happened. I am hurt and angry! My baby boy is suffering and I deserve to know what happened. His groomer was Gavin the store manager is Taylor, and the general manager is Sarah I haven't talked to her as of yet. the head of grooming is Niki. the incident has cost me over 250.00 today and who know what the future holds at this point. Money is NOT the issue. I will spare no expense when it comes to my dog and loved ones, and his vet records indicate just that! He get regular grooming, vet visits, shots, and teeth cleanings. Never has any of his vets stated possible injury to my dogs back. They only tell us what wonderful pet owners we are. So, again my complaint is the lack of respect, care, and concern Petco has shown me and my dog. I will pursue this until I get the answers I desire no matter the cost. My partner and I do very well financially and have no need to gain anything but the truth. Trust me I WILL GET THE TRUTH! PLEASE BEWARE OF THE GROOMING DEPARTMENTS AT PETCO! i bought a guinea pig at this location and sadly the next day noticed she was sneezing and had a runny nose than the following next day she still had it only now her eyes were crusty :( i felt so bad. so i called the store and they told me to bring her back and they would have a vet come the following next morn and pick her up than they would give her the medication she would need untill she is completely better. they said they would than call me and have me come get her!!! way cool of them!!! thanks!!! read more
