About a month ago i had booked a grooming appt with Dublin and 2 hours before my scheduled appt, they called and said they had to reschedule me for the following week. That did not work for me, so I started checking availability within 50 miles.... San Bruno came up. When I got there Jade greeted us and listened to my dog concerns. She recommended the Soothe & Repair add on and I'm really happy we did it. After an hour I got a call that my dog was ready for pick up. When I got there, she was in a kennel all cleaned up and Jade was jumping around and I could see my dog happily mimicking her. Jade was wonderful and helpful. She seems like she likes her job or just really likes dogs :-). My dogs skin was less irritable and she was not scratching for at least 2 weeks. .....Today, we went to another Petco closer to home and were not pleased at all! The staff are just too lazy to pick the product off the shelf. They mark the curbside orders as "missed" pickup. Didn't issue me a refund either. So I have to wait until they open to make sure they give me a refund. PetSmart doesn't do this. You also don't have to hassle other companies for refunds on the items they are too lazy to put aside for you. I could've walked in and picked it up myself but the store was still closed. The last time I was here, the staff told me to buy my dog food elsewhere. The quality and price is cheaper everywhere else. So I did. This store is weird. read more

I had gotten a hamster Saturday unfortunately she started bleeding on Wednesday and that's life threatening for them when I called to see if I can take her myself they said they wouldn't be able to reimburse me. I'm always able to find what I'm looking for when I come to Petco to stock up on some supplies. It's a bit of a quiet store so no need to navigate through people in the aisle and there is rarely ever a wait to check out. The other side of this is that there usually is minimal staff around so if you need help with something, you may have to spend a little more time flagging someone down. read more

Had the worst experience, took my dog in for an express service. So it should t be no longer then 1-2hours. My dog suffers from anxiety issues and can't be in a kennel. So I took my dog in it was a different stylist then the one I had last time. Appointment was at 5, got a call at 7pm just my dog was not able to get a haircut because she injured herself. They had not bathed her, left her in the kennel. And picked up my dog, took her home to find all these injuries. And took her to the vet. read more

Oh F** No! If I would've read the reviews before taking my first puppy to the groomers I wouldn't have taken him. My poor 4 month puppy fully vaccinated came home with red spots on his neck. Grooming dept. repeat customer. Have brought my dog from grooming here several times. Usually its the same girl, always nice and always cuts my dogs hair. Different girl at the desk this time. Denied my dog for matting. Told us to goto a VET. LOL. What vet does grooming?!?. Luckily Petsmart in Daly City had several openings the next day. Took our dog in with no issues. Elaina, one of the groomers, is amazing. She treated my dog very well and gave him a great hair cut. I had other errands to run around the area so it was perfect. Elaina is very sweet and she took great care of my dog. Nathiena, the other groomer, was there too and she was very nice as well and was just as great at taking care of the dogs. I placed an order on line but saw how long it would take to be delivered so I called their customer service and asked if there was anyway to get the duck food sooner than a week ? Otherwise I won't place the order. She said,2-4 business days, I said cool I'll place the order. On the fourth day I checked the status and it said it is delayed and won't even ship until 6 days later. Oh and there is no supervisor to talk to either. Finally after the 20 time calling someone got on the phone saying or pretending he was a supervisor,I said I didn't want to hear anything other than how he is going to get me my duck food today ?oh did I tell you the item I was ordered/ sold was and had not been available on their website for months ? He also informed me that all same day orders had to be in by 5pm and I said it's 4:15 pm . At around 7:30 pm I checked the status it said waiting for driver . The next day at noon I called because I had not received my order. They hung up on me continuously and then one of them had the audacity to try and charge my credit card for $1,532.61 !! My order that was supposed to be same day showed up at 8:30 pm the next day. There is Nobody at their Corporate Office to speak to. When I called I got the receptionist who took my name and number for them to contact me within 24 to 48 hour's and as of today it's been 5 days and NOBODY from Petco has contacted me ! Just because I was upset that gives you no reason to try and charge my credit card and should not be selling people products that are No longer available on your website and you sure the Hell should have someone in your Corporate Office to speak with and handle these kind of customer service issues. I'm so done with Petco. Nathiena is the WORST dog groomer. First of all, I had an appointment with her 2 weeks ago and she NEVER SHOWED UP. Big red flag there but she did text me later that day to apologize and let me know my next grooming would be free. So I made an appointment a few days later. My dog has anxiety and I usually give him CBD oil to calm him down. When I arrived for my appointment, they said they couldn't take him if he's on CBD oil because he has to be in his natural state. So AGAIN, I made an appointment a few days later, dropped off my dog and almost 3 hours later, Nathiena calls and said she can't finish the job because Peanut has mats in his paws and he was uncomfortable and in pain. So I picked him up and she shaved his body but didn't trim his face. He didn't look groomed AT ALL!!! She probably did a half assed job because this grooming session was free and he was her last client of the day. She should be more concerned about taking care of a client rather than trying to leave work on time. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Petco is the worst when it comes to pet grooming. Soo... this is a review of Petco's vaccination clinic (cats&dogs). Here's how it used to work: You'd make an appointment, an assistant would check you in, ask a few questions about the general wellbeing of your pet, you'd help to maneuver it onto a scale, then walk it over to hold it where the doc was giving the medications. This is how it's working now: you make an appointment. When you're doing that, you have to select between vaccination services and clinic (I think Petco/Vetco itself put $$ signs near the clinic to denote a higher-priced service. So I opted for the lower-priced tier, thinking that that would be the same as before, which worked just fine. However, when arriving at Petco, there was a check-in... but no looking at the animal, no weighing or anything at all, beyond the confirmation of the vaccines you selected. Oookay... But the real surprise was that then, when I wanted to walk my dog over... they forced me to take off his leash, replaced it with a flimsier, but self-tightening one, then took the dog and would not let me accompany him. More than that, when I tried to look at what they were doing / how they were administering, they were trying to sush me away put a screen more in my way (this is sll happening in the aisles of the shop), and told me I'd have to sign up for the clinic if I "wanted that service". Wow! Clearly, this is all very transparently a well-thought through scheme to push ppl into paying for more upscale services by thinning out and making less attractive the services they do need for their pets. A kind of "services shrinkflation". Fair enough. I can see the profits going up. Great. Now, for me, personally, this was okay - because my dog has health issues, but for which I don't need advice from Petco, and he is large, but docile. However, the way Petco does this is actually making things much worse if your pet is of the anxious-without-you or the aggressive-in-new-situations type. I had the impression the folks performing the services were very aware of this and unhappy about it, too... but they're on the receiving end of this "corporate innovation"... oh, well! read more

After a very bad experience at another pet store, we decided to give this Petco a try. We were looking for a bearded dragon as the last one we got at PetSmart ended up being ill before we even brought him home, sadly. The animals kept at this Petco location all appeared to be healthy and extremely active. The lady that assisted us with getting our bearded dragon, was very patient and helpful with all of our questions. She took her time explaining everything that they had to offer as far as products and the differences between items. She also took her time to show us the other animals that they had -- the turtles, tortoises, and other lizards and the unique personalities they all possess. We're so happy with the new edition to the family -- our new bearded dragon. I highly recommend this location if you're looking for great service with a staff that genuinely cares about and loves the animals. They also offer a ton of pet supplies at a reasonable price. The store has constantly and consistently understaffed. Curbside pickup takes forever, there's never anyone on the sales floor to help, I regularly see 2-3 people around the registers, but only one register open. Two on a weekend. It's clear staff are overwhelmed The line often gets quite long at checkout, and there are often issues with how organized and stocked the store is. None of the employees seem very happy to be working there, and I don't blame them. I'm sure they have way too much to do and simply not enough manpower to get it done. They wouldn't let me pick up my dog that I dropped off for grooming 4 hours earlier and wanted to keep him in a cage for no reason beside they were vindictive towards me and my people and they wanted to take it out on my dog. They kept lying about the condition of my dog and when I got him back, it looked like he was abused by the workers. They wouldn't let me pay and just kept telling me that we aren't welcome and that we are "banned" from the store. The manager, Gabriel, kept raising his hands at me and made comments that seemed threatening. They created an environment where I was unwelcome and afraid. We come the morning and we're told to come back Iater in for an appointment for my puppy who's amazing at the groomer, she shakes cuz she's nervous but that's it. Do not bring your dog here, my 1.5 year Shih Tzu comes out nervous and tired. They cut too close to his genitals causing a scab and he's been licking it since we left the store. They also cut too close to the vein on one of his nails which I also noticed when he kept licking it. When I had Alpha Dog come to my place and groom him, it took 15 minutes and my dog was not anxious and nervous. His fur was perfectly cut all the way around and there was no cuts on him. Once I drop him off the these groomers, I got into the store to buy supplies and notice that two groomers were a little aggressive with a medium size dog.
