As I drove off, I noticed that the item in the box was not the one I had ordered -- someone must have swapped it. I went back to the store and met the same employee, John. John outside just as he was leaving for the day and greeted me while I arrived at the store. Even though he was already off the clock, he was incredibly kind, understanding, and took the time to help me resolve the issue with his team. The entire staff handled the situation professionally and made me feel truly valued as a customer. This was honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had at a Petco. Although this location is about 20 miles from where I live, I would gladly return because of the outstanding service and welcoming team. Castiel has been seeing Nayeli since he was about 5 months old. He is now 2 years old and HE LOVES HER! Nayeli is super compassionate and takes her time with Castiel, especially when he gets nervous. She always handle him with such care and patience as well as leaves him smelling so fresh and clean! Their grooming service is amazing ! I recently made a change from petsmart to petco and I have noticed a huge difference already. I have 3 dogs I take there to get groomed, Milo Luna and lulu. I noticed the change from day 1. At petsmart my dogs would not want to enter the space and if they did they would start jumping on me to bot let the groomer take them in and in here at PETCO my dogs get super happy and excited. Their attitude changed towards grooming, which shows a lot that my dogs get well groomed and taken care of. We drove 45 minutes for our appointment and even called ahead to let them know we might be 5 minutes late. We arrived only 4 minutes late, yet the front desk person disappeared for about 10 minutes before coming back to tell us they "close in 15 minutes" and couldn't even take a quick look at our kitten. After all that driving and communication, they couldn't spare five minutes. The attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We won't be coming back, and I'd strongly recommend others avoid this location. We'll be finding a proper vet and a new store that actually cares about pets and their owners. read more

Went inside to get some fish for my friends aquarium. . We went inside to look at the fish and the service was quick. They asked if we needed help. The lady had great patience with picking the right fish for us. We loved the service and it was easy. After picking the fish out we, went to the front to pay. . The front counter was a short line to pick up the goods and pay for it too. . There was some pusheen cat toys which were so cute. If you love pusheen, you should come check it out. . The dog snacks treats they have a lot of variety to pick out and weigh per pound to pay. . There is lots of pee everywhere in the store due to dogs pee everywhere so watch where you step. I know it's a normal thing but just saying. . Overall if you need some quick pet supplies or looking for cute new pets they have them here. i booked an appointment for my kitten i just adopted, they called me less than 24 hours before his appointment and i spoke to a woman who was rude and stated that the notes weren't transferred over and that regardless my appointment needed to be rescheduled. i was going to fully pay for this appointment out of pocket and keep this vet as my kittens vet for the foreseeable future but due to the lack of customer service and the way they handled that i didn't bother to rebook and i will not be coming into petco for a single thing. i will warn others to stay away as well. read more

I recently made a grooming appointment for my Akita at this location for the first time with Jayme L. Right when we got to this location the grooming staff seemed very rude and unprofessional. I honestly had a really bad gut feeling about this location right when I walked through the door. The grooming manager and Jayme were both acting very shady and made my dog super uncomfortable. Their inexperience was apparent behind closed doors because they claimed he "tried to bite them" when they took him back when he's never ever tried to bite any of our previous groomers before. I'm honestly a bit relieved to get my dog back because they should not be trusted to groom any dog with their treatment towards dogs and clients here. read more

The lady in the front desk today for grooming was very rude, I didn't catch her name but she has dark hair and lash extensions. She had a big attitude and will never be going here again. They take walk ins here and they lied and told us they weren't gonna take us in, and that they had no time. We were waiting for an email for documents (our first time for grooming) and then another lady had said we took 'too long' even though it was 15-20 minutes to get it. (Not even the girl who took care of us first, and mind you, the lady from the desk went to go hide in the back) and we waited at the desk for a long time to check in just for them to tell us 'no'. I recently moved to this part of town from south San Jose and started bringing both of my dogs in for grooming. Nayeli grooms my 7 pound chihuahua and does an amazing job. She was unavailable on the day I had to bring my 75 pound Belgian malinois, so Jayme did the job and she was also amazing. It was his first grooming since we adopted him and she even gave me a grooming report card which I appreciate so much. The staff here is always friendly! read more

My sweetie and I like coming here to shop for his cats and fish. There is especially a great clearance section at the front and toward the back. They also have good sales on cat litter. I always love looking at the male Betta fish that are absolutely beautiful. They carry a great variety of Betta fish including the exotic ones. It is disappointing though that they rarely have crayfish in stock. The store also has a great rewards program through their app and email. I keep up on their sales and can always check how close we are to our next reward which is a discount on a future purchase. But it does seem to take a long time to get to the reward. If I recall, you need to purchase about $100 worth of merchandise before you get a future reward. However, there are ways to collect points to get there faster if I recall. We just do not shop there often. I would say we shop at Petco at the most, three times a month and we may go to a different store location. As I stated before, they have a great stock of clearance items. However, in most cases, the price on the clearance items are not the final price so we have to wait in line just to check on the prices. The store does have a great selection of clearance merchandise as I mentioned, but it appears that some of what is on clearance has been there for years. I have seen good quality leather leashes there in the clearance bin up in the front of the store but these same leashes have been there for many years. Either, the staff do not lower the prices as much as they could to move out old stock or not too many people are like my sweetie and I, who always check the clearances here. But then maybe the store staff should consider another angle like produce some mystery bags labeled for cats or dogs (stating size) and price the bags at extremely low prices. Another option would be to have customers purchase a certain amount of merchandise like $50 worth on one day and if they do, they can pick out a clearance item for a major discount or for free. Or perhaps at least donate some of their old merchandise to charities. These are just a few suggestions I have. read more

Pretty much think it's the worst petco I've ever been to. Smells like pee everywhere. Animal tanks looked disgusting. Some reptile tanks had no water, no lights and I didn't know what was supposed to be in most of them because there was no label or price tag. There were dead fish in almost every tank including bettas. And even the ceiling was falling down in some places. I dont know if sokeoje from their corporate will eventually see this but this place needs some new management or something quick. Needless to say, I won't be shopping here. I miss their old color sign which was red so it stood out more, the new sign is dark blue so you can easily overlook it. The workers here are good! I don't really need a lot at check out, and I have had no issues. The selection can get limited and depending on what you need it may not be in stock so I recommend checking online first. I normally do curbside pick up or order online and pick up in store to save me time. I do not use their grooming services because my dog is terrified of new people and she does not tolerate well to nail trimmings so I take her to my local vet for that. Last week I would have given this location a negative 0 rating because of the problems scheduling this appointment but we got it worked out and Nancy did such a fantastic job grooming Coco I would give her a 10! She did such a great job on him and he isn't real easy. He is a Labradoodle and he has weird hair. He gets a poodle cut on his feet to ward off stickers and I wanted his face trimmed up and so often he comes home and looks like a baboon. But she made him look great all over. Even did his ears better than anyone else has in a long long time. Hope our next visit we get her again. Our other dog that was with Coco, Bella a Golden Retriever, also came out great too. I spend about $250 a month here. I only keep returning because my furry kid loves a particular brand of food. They no longer carry the brand as of two weeks ago, so here I go with my rant in how this Petco location operates. * restroom has been out of order for months. When it is in order, it's filthy and not well-maintained * lines are known to be backed up because there is always one cashier even if there are 5+ customers in line * staff are always hanging out talking about what they did over the weekend. I don't mind comradery, but can't you guys wait until there are no customers? * up until a couple months ago, you could not push carts yourself out of the store which meant every big bag of dog food (and other items) you purchased required an associate to help you out. Keep in mind, the requests always required an additional wait because associates are busy with other things * my "Pal Rewards" conveniently never shows up in their system, so my rightfully earned coupon discounts never apply Don't get me wrong. She's lived with us for over a year and passed away a month ago. We dearly miss her with all our hearts. Very low staff which makes it hard to ask for help. Some staff are EXTREMELY clueless. I asked for 14 goldfishes 10 normal size (not large) and 4 mini ones but since the employee gave me 9 normal sized and 3 mini ones i just kind of gave up on trying to explain in detail. This information is not shared anywhere on their website or given when you select "same day delivery". I placed an online same day delivery order about two weeks ago and received email confirmation that the order was received. The next email was notifying me that they had cancelled my order, but gave no explanation/reason and only listed the general 877-738-6742 customer service number but not the local store number. I placed another online same day delivery order today and a similar thing happened, so I called the general number. (The email notice I received this time said my order was delayed.). The representative told me, and the information was NOT given easily since I had to ask question after question, that the limit had been met. What limit? The store limit of how many same day deliveries they process due to staffing issues. My order "should" be delivered by the next day, she said, but couldn't confirm. If this is a store policy, it should be clearly stated when you make an online order for same day delivery and not left to wonder why your order is delayed or cancelled. The lack of information and lack of customer communication means a very bad customer service practice that needs to be reviewed by management. read more

This is for the grooming department. I've used the same groomer for 7 years. I have 2 specialty dogs, a Westie and a Scotty. My groomer moved out of the area. I've tried 2 other spots and been terribly dissatsified. I thought, why not try this and save a little money. They can't be any worse than the 2 previous places. What a pleasant surprise! I can't remember her name but she was the only one working on 7/29 and the staff had called out on her. She was on her own. Nevertheless, she took the time to really ask great questions and really wanted to make sure she was cutting to breed standards and clarify what I wanted. She communicated when she ran just a bit behind but that was expected and she was very busy. I was so pleased! Buster and Rocco looked great! TERRIBLE. We've had our terrier groomed here for years but this stop will be our last. Extreme skin irritation and you can tell they f**ked up with the electric razor. There is a patch where they straight shaved a portion off on the neck and her skin is bumpy and pink there. Hard line where the razor stopped too. Dog has been acting anti-social and scared remainder of day. Don't know what kind of operation they are running but they are not careful and obviously poorly trained This was a new different groomer that we have not used before. First of all, this store is very unorganized and all the employees seemed to do what ever they want... After email Petco Corporate, I received a response and the salon manager gave me a call to confirm I could get a refund the grooming services. Unfortunately, I was charged again instead of getting a refund.. I asked the cashier if it was processed correctly, because the receipt didn't look like a refund. She confirmed it was processes correctly, and I should see a refund in 24 hours. It has been 3 days, and I can confirm I did not get a refund, and have in fact been charged twice. Due to the incompetence of the workers at this location, I have to return yet again to correct their mistake. There was no one to help or ask questions to and I knew I looked lost. I brought Odin back after a couple of years due to me moving. It seems Odin still remembered his last visit because he happily walked in and seemed very excited to be there. He was taken to the back where he happily walked along the groomer. Upon pick up Odin was a brand new dog! He was nice and white, soft and smelled amazing. Prior to his grooming he was shedding a lot. I paid for the super plus package so he can get the shedding service. I noticed the difference right away. I really like that now they give report cards after service! It made me feel good that the groomer Nayeli, wrote a cute little note on how sweet Odin was since Odin often gets mistaken to be "aggressive" just for his looks which has made it hard to find a groomer in the city I moved to. As a first time dog owner, I was really nervous to get my puppy groomed. His hair is hard to describe (he is a mixed breed) and I was not sure how he would react to having a puppy bath. Making an appointment over the phone was quick and easy. Parking was also easy to find. When I arrived I was greeted by Elaina who was also my dog's groomer. She was informative, friendly, and calmed my nerves right away once I saw my dog wagging his tail when he met her. She provided me a lot of positive feedback about his experience when I picked him up and I was very happy with the results. Brought him in a second time for a full body trim and although Elaina cut his hair shorter than I requested (she admitted before I noticed), the hair is growing back nicely. I understand accidents happen and appreciated her telling me right away. The fact that my puppy is comfortable with her is more important to me, so we will definitely be back again soon! read more
