Got my wheelchair bound ass out of my vehicle after making sure they were open prior with my children one of which is a toddler. Just to be told I have to wait over thirty minutes for them to put stuff away first. Couldn't take 3 minutes out of what they were doing in the store to help me grab a half dozen feeder fish. Lazy. Or just dim witted. Took more time to explain she couldn't do her job than it would have her just doing it properly. Poor time management. Don't shop here.

Do not come here and honestly I am spreading the word because of this disappointment of an establishment.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I contacted customer service along with going back to the location to apologize for being so heated in the discussion with the manager Tony. I volunteer and do drives for pet supplies consistently and always have recommended Petco as a place to source product, but NEVER again. Last week Sat, I booked an appointment with Brynna but she has terrible customer service. We arrived right before opening and waited about 30 minutes for our grooming appointment on both of my pups. I spend $30 a month in memberships with Petco along with buying food for donations and myself. My husband and I were honestly worried about the worker last week since they said they could not get a hold of her... but at the same time they laughed as it seemed it was a normal thing at this location. We then spoke to the manager who said she apologized sincerely because she seemed to be a no call, no show and that she would book us next week at the same time and offer a discount. The thing is that I work retail and am a busy manager so I had work today and said I would be late to accommodate the mess ups. Upon arriving, the lady said she would have to rebook us and skimmed through things and said "well you never got a confirmation so it's not my fault"... I asked for her name and it was the same groomer who did not show last week. When I said last week we were waiting for you she smiled and laughed in my face and said "you are lying because I was here and only 5 minutes late". Mind you, you can run the footage and see us waiting that day last week and she was not there. Not only did she lie and said she called and left a voicemail, which she didn't call nor leave a voicemail- she called us liars. When speaking to Tony at this point I was livid because I took time out of my day to arrive at this appointment. Instead of being helpful at the moment he said "not all of us here are like that" and seemed not to reassure us that there would be a conversation going forward with the groomer. I have never felt so upset with a company than today and have called customer service to report this but think it is worthy of leaving reviews. Do not come here, in fact I will no longer recommend people to shop at Petco for the events I host and I canceled my membership's. Do better Petco.

I had a grooming appointment scheduled weeks in advance and drove 45 minutes just to go in and find out their salon was closed with no notice at all. no call, no cancellation, nothing

I went to take my puppy for the very first time to get his nail buffed. The lady there Kylee was rude and unprofessional, didn't make me feel welcome it seemed she was in a rush. I did a walk in around 4pm and when I got there she looked surprised like she thought she was done for the day even though I called earlier to see if they took walk ins and they said yes, I told her I calle before and she was arguing whit me saying that i probably called a different store, she set the bad vibe from minute one.

We recently boarded our two dogs with Philly while we were away on a family trip, and I can't express how relieved and reassured I felt knowing they were in his care. Philly went above and beyond. He created a group chat for my husband and I to streamline communication, and we received consistent check-ins, videos, and the sweetest pictures. You could see it in our dogs - they felt happy, safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. That kind of peace of mind is priceless. Philly is an exceptionally talented trainer, and his passion for what he does shines through in everything he does. He has such a natural, intuitive way with dogs - patient, gentle, confident - and it's clear that this work is not just a job for him, but a calling. He treats every dog like family, and that level of genuine care is incredibly rare. She now expects to play the "heel game" on every walk, and when we run out of treats, she still stays right by my side. What a difference. Walks are now a joy, and the carpal tunnel that I didn't know was caused by the sled dog has eased. I loved how Wolf Girl Canine Club approaches training with kindness and patience - no choke collars, shock collars, or harsh reprimands. Our sweet but stubborn girl heeled because she wanted to. She adored her friend Katie and looked forward to the training sessions. We walked in and proceeded to the back of the store where the groomer and the Banfield Pet Hospital are located. We walked into the groomer and were the only customers. We were greeted by a very cheerful Heather. Heather was just finishing the grooming of a poodle looking dog. She took the dog to the back and returned to us. She took all of our info. We did not have proof of rabies vaccination for Ozzy. Heather was happy to call our primary vet at the El Cajon Valley Animal Hospital to verify. Once that was complete, she turned her attention to Ozzy. Heather was so sweet. Ozzy is typically a bit skittish, but she was fairly comfortable with Heather. Ozzy allowed Heather to leash her up without fighting it or whimpering. Heather's "bedside manner" was fabulous. She had us leave Ozz with her and asked us to wait outside on the bench on the other side of the frosted window. She said she'd tap on the window when Ozz was finished. About five minutes later there was a tap on the glass. Ozzy was finished and her nails trimmed properly. No muss, no fuss. 12 bucks. We went to the registers up front to pay and we were on our way.

I am not sure what direction to take this review but suffice to say, their pricing in the Grooming Salon is highly suspect and potentially great substance for a class action lawsuit. Only a couple of years ago the nail grinding was a flat $15 and no need to make an appointment. They had a grooming package that they use to call a "top dog" that was between $35 and $40. Today I took the same dog that I have been taking there for 15 years (a 12 pound chihuahua minpin mix) Buddy, for a nail grinding. I was quoted $19. However the groomer Adan, said that if the dog nips it would be an additional $10. I told him that he was known to nip but the last groomers said he was getting better. Adan said that the grinding should take no more than 10 min. I also told Adan that if I had to pay $29 for a nail grinding that it would be the last time I would be a customer there...when I returned to get Buddy (7 minutes) my first question was, how did he do. Adan said he nipped a couple of times then settled down. He also mentioned Buddy didn't like the sound of the grinder. Duh???? What dog does? I left a $2 tip and thanked him then realized that I was indeed charged $29. For a nail grinding. When I asked Adan why, he said it was because it required him to not only grind the nails but trim them as well and that is why he charged an extra $10. Who makes these decisions? I never agreed to a special treatment and Im sure somewhere in the paperwork it stated that the ultimate price is subject to the whims of the groomer depending on how much he feels he needed to make. Though the Manager refunded the additional $10. And said she would speak to the groomer, I told her that never had I ever had to pay $29. For a nail trim for a dog that has had at least 100 in the last 10 years. Total BS is what my wife called it and I tend to agree. Regardless here is the bottom line to this epic review......across the street within walking distance is a PetCo whom I called as soon as I got home and asked what they charge for a nail trimming or grinding. They said it doesn't matter what ya call it the cost is $12. I also asked how much a full spa treatment would be for a dog including wash, nails, ears, and anal glands....the young lady said between $35 and $40 bucks. THIS IS HOW EASY IT IS FOR A COMPANY TO LOSE A LOYAL VALUABLE 20 YEAR CUSTOMER AND GO ACROSS THE STREET TO THEIR COMPETITOR. INSANE!!!!!!!!!

We are grateful to James of BB who placed us with Jenna. Our boys issues: high reactivity outside, especially other dogs, and inside, door bell, ring cameras, etc. Coupled with greetings by jumping and owning the house. Jenna set us on a path of activities for inside and was incredibly patient letting me share and ask questions, learning constantly. As we fine-tuned and we all got more comfortable we moved our training to outside. The methodology used is absolutely amazing and, I dare say, short of a miracle. We practice regularly and introduce the boys to different circumstances. All that food luring and positive food reinforcement training certainly has its place but only the techniques of BB with Jenna has helped our boys become trusting, comfortable, and happy. Here I thought I had to scan the horizon constantly to be aware of incoming dogs to prepare myself to hide behind a car or go in the corner behind garbage cans to get maximum distance. Not true. I walk no longer with my head on a lazy susan. We all are forever grateful. Our boys can lead richer more social lives. Thank you!!!

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.
