    Kitten description

I adopted a cat from this petco location during the special event that partnered up with Bay Area cats. They waived my adoption fee and the petco employees were super knowledgeable when shopping around for cat supplies they asked how old my kitten was and suggested toys and food brands

Decent sized petco with a good selection. We shop here for our dog and cats + have their food ordered on the subscribe and save. Today we picked up dog treats for our samoyed's 6th birthday, he was happy!!

my cats won't eat any of these canned cat foods at Petco

Why my cats no longer like their wet cat food. Have shopped this store for 5 decades. Pet Club has a wider selection of Friskies and Fancy Feast canned cat food,, but a maximum 30 day return with receipt. Petco has a maximum 60 day return without receipt as long as you are a member. I've shopped here so long that my membership phone number is my land line. When was the last time you had a land line phone number? January 2019 Petco becomes the first and only pet store to remove all pet food with a list of 40+ artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives from their shelves, including Friskies and Fancy Feast. October 2022 I adopt two white cats Storm and Sky. Introduce them to Friskies and Fancy Feast, and they can't stop eating it, eat it like it is their last meal. My last cat Stan lived to be 20 eating Friskies and Fancy Feast. August 2023, cats stop eating their canned cat food. August 2023, Petco restocks their shelves with Friskies and Fancy Feast, all with new labels saying no artificial ingredients. Purina, makers of Friskies and Fancy feast changed their formula for canned cat food in order to make their food presentable to Petco. Meanwhile I've tried at least two dozen different types of canned cat food from Petco , and my cats turn their noses up to all of them. There are internet forums about cats no longer eating Friskies and Fancy Feast canned cat food. Now you know why. Have a friend who used to feed his cats Royal Canine canned cat food, until Petco removed if from the shelves. They have them in stock now, but he's in for a surprise when he feeds his cats. Now imagine if your supermarket removed all foods with artificial ingredients.

do not buy an animal here. my lizard will not make it to adulthood because of a virus your lizard probably has too, especially if its a bearded dragon. managers do not care and will lie to you. do not listen.

Support local aquarium stores, adopt on nextdoor or craigslist. Perco refuses to provide heaters for these tropical fish.
    T N.

Petco loaded several corporate photos to suppress photos I took in their store showing bettas in cups, no heater, many need water changes. Bettas are tropical fish which need heat! What can you do? Support indie stores. Many aquarium stores now house bettas in beautiful large planted tanks. Before buying look on nextdoor or craigslist for people who are rehoming pets and fish. Petco is a billion dollar corporation which has been treating bettas like this for decades.

This Petco definitely takes care of their lizards! These folks looked like they're having a great time in their enclosures and looked happy.

I have decades of experience fostering dogs and personally adopting many of my own, and over the years I've worked with a wide range of trainers. Without question, Steve is in a league entirely of his own. His talent, intuition, and depth of understanding when it comes to dogs is extraordinary. He doesn't just train dogs; he teaches humans how to truly understand them. What made the experience even more unforgettable was the joy he brought into the day. We laughed constantly. At one point my cheeks genuinely hurt from hours of smiling and laughter. And yet, amid all of that warmth and humor, we walked away with an incredibly clear, grounded, and practical understanding of his methods and a deep sense of confidence in our ability to apply them. Steve's approach is refreshingly doable: just five minutes of training per day, paired with his ongoing availability as a resource. That combination alone feels invaluable. We literally just completed our training day today, so I plan to update this review in a few months with more detail about long-term ease of execution and results with our dog, Griffin. But one thing I feel compelled to share now is this: throughout the entire day, even while Griffin was dramatically protesting (vocally, and with flair), Steve remained calm, steady, and completely unfazed. Griffin didn't love everything he was being asked to do, but he clearly adored Steve. He never cowered, never shut down, never showed fear. That level of trust speaks volumes. At one point, I asked Steve about scheduling an additional training day for one of our other dogs. His response was thoughtful, sensible, and deeply ethical: he told me it wouldn't be necessary. He explained that the principles I was learning with Griffin would absolutely apply to our other dogs as well, and that he'd be more than happy to answer questions along the way. That moment really matters to me because it so clearly reflects that Steve is driven by genuine passion and care for people and dogs, not by squeezing every possible dollar out of his clients. I also want to wholeheartedly acknowledge Tasha, who was incredibly kind, responsive, and compassionate throughout the scheduling process. We had to cancel our original training day due to a traumatic injury our other dog, Enzo, sustained: a spinal stroke. Tasha immediately offered to refund our deposit without hesitation. When I shared that I still very much wanted to work with Steve, she later went out of her way to find us an earlier date than originally offered after I asked to be notified of any cancellations. That level of care and humanity meant so much during a really difficult time. I am profoundly grateful for Steve and his entire team. This was one of the most positive, affirming, and empowering experiences I've ever had as a dog guardian. If you're looking for the best, congratulations. You have found it with One Day Dog Training!

Right from the consultation, Octavia was friendly and reassuring and helped us understand that our dog was just a little special to no fault of our own. After discussing our concerns, what we hoped to get out of training, and our schedules we opted for the 24 session home and train package. Given mine and my bf's work schedule, we initially thought we would only attend a few sessions a week and have Octavia work with our puppy for a majority of the time. However, that quickly changed and Octavia worked with me and my literally ridiculous work schedule to make sure we found something that worked for all of us. Working with Octavia made us realize the training is as much for the dog as it is for the human. She didn't push any strict rules that I've seen other trainers mention, such as not allowing the dogs on furniture, and really factored in what would be practical in our lives as dog parents and what we wanted. As with all things, it takes time to find out what works best for each dog. Octavia was very patient in explaining and walking us through everything. She was always open for questions and answering whatever concerns I had about my dog even if it wasn't directly related to our training session. It's been almost a year and finding Octavia as a trainer has been the best thing that could happen to our family. What other trainer could you find that will shed tears with you from seeing your dog go from being unable to walk without tugging on a leash, to being able to walk at a heel off leash in just a few weeks (with still plenty of sessions to go!). Not only does she care and love our dog that she trains, she also extends that warmest to our other dog. The sound of her name makes both of our dogs perk up and want to run down the hall to greet her at the other end. Highly recommend!

We rescued a nervous jindo mix puppy last July who turned out to have several behavioral issues (fear barking at strangers at home/outside, reactivity to dogs, anxiety around dog dad, not engaging on walks) we didn't anticipate, and we were desperate to get some help. Given our pup's tendency to get very nervous, we needed a trainer who understood her needs and was willing to work at her pace. And Shanni was that exact trainer we needed -- she recommended 1:1 training lessons specifically tailored around our dog's threshold, and we learned how to identify body language and types of barks (i.e. fear barking, demand barking). She equipped us with all of the tools to continue working with our dog after our lessons finished. We didn't think leash manners would even be possible, but our dog now is so engaged and attentive on walks! Really could go on and on here, but long story short, if you're looking for a trainer who truly understands your dog's and your needs, equips you with the right tools to continue training beyond lessons, works at your dog's pace, we highly recommend working with Shanni.

I cannot…read morerecommend the entire staff at Dogs at Harmony enough, but especially Shanni and Brenna. As a first-time dog owner raising a puppy by myself, I was completely overwhelmed. The staff has been with me every step of the way, even helping me decide on a Portuguese Water Dog's temperament to best suit my active running lifestyle. My puppy Yumi, now 17 weeks old, has been through Harmony School from 9-12 weeks, which came with 4 group lessons, and 1 private instruction. She's still going to school once a week to help give me some much-needed relief, and I'm hoping to start private lessons soon after my travel plans. Shanni and Brenna were instrumental during those first brutal two weeks with Yumi. I had major puppy blues - stressed about making sure she was okay, stressed about accidents, and desperate to set her up for success. This stress, combined with virtually no sleep (taking Yumi out every 20 minutes when awake and sleeping near her the first few days to soothe her), was a recipe for doubt and regret. I was that pet parent who would call frantically about any diarrhea or accident, text essay-length questions, and send way too many videos and notes about the schedules and patterns I'd observe, obsess over, and worry about. This incredible team met every single concern with patience, understanding, and practical solutions. The first time I dropped Yumi off at school was the first time I'd taken a break in a week - it was much-needed relief that allowed me to reset and find a routine that worked for me. Instead of fighting against her nature and her age (she's just a toddler!), I learned to work with her and celebrate every victory. The resources and support I received have set both Yumi and myself up for success. Yumi has grown into a beautiful, confident, and sweet-natured pup. She's well socialized, sleeps through the night from 10-7am, tries her hardest to not jump when greeting others, and can now be left alone for 3-4 hours at a time, which has been huge. She's still a working dog with tons of energy, but Shanni has guided me through how to tire her out mentally via shaping, soft chews, increasing difficulty in fundamentals, and teaching me how to actually train my dog. Her guidance helped me learn to see Yumi for who she is instead of who I want her to be, and how to debug and break down behaviors to address instead of treating undesired ones as 'issues' (like barking, digging, or jumping on people). It's been such a joy and privilege raising Yumi, but I definitely wouldn't have gotten here without Shanni and her team - the true village supporting my single pet parenthood lifestyle. Their approach is holistic, compassionate, and incredibly effective. Highly recommend for both new and experienced dog owners!

Walking him also became a two-person job, with someone always on the lookout for other dogs so we could turn the other way. He also began to resource guard and snapped at my dad twice.. I had already spent thousands on another trainer and didn't have much success. I began to feel like this was just what life with Luka would be like forever. It got to the point where I felt scared of him, and the life I was giving him out of that fear wasn't fair to him. So I decided to try and get help one last time. I found Lori's page and after reading the reviews I became hopeful again. I took Luka in for an evaluation, and Lori recommended their board-and-train program. Our first trainer took one look at him and basically told us we'd adopted a tiny, bearded landmine. She called him "one of the most reactive dogs she'd ever met" and gave us the kind of "good luck" that usually precedes a disaster movie. Enter Mike Hatjes from Bay Area Dog Training. We found Mike on Yelp, and honestly, we were just looking for a miracle. Mike is a unique breed himself: he's incredibly direct (no sugar-coating the fact that your dog thinks he's the CEO of Chaos) but also hilarious. He balances that "tell-it-like-it-is" energy with a sense of humor that kept us from losing our minds. The Transformation Timeline: * The Private Lesson Phase (8 Sessions): We went from "we can't leave the house" to "wait, is he actually sitting on command?" By the end of our eight private lessons, we were taking regular walks. My blood pressure dropped, and Diego actually started building confidence instead of seeing every mailbox as a mortal enemy. * The Group Lesson Phase (The Real Magic): If you told me six months ago my dog would be in a group with 10 other dogs, I would have assumed there'd be a SWAT team involved. But Mike's group lessons are shockingly amazing. Seeing my dog hold a "down" in a row of 10 dogs while each one weaves through the line? It's practically a glitch in the Matrix. The Verdict: Mike didn't just train our dog; he gave us our lives back. We can do family trips, have friends over, and walk down the street without looking like we're wrestling a caffeinated alligator. If you have a dog that makes other trainers cry, call Mike. He'll tell you the truth, make you laugh, and turn your "unbelievable" nightmare into a well-behaved companion.

Dan's valuable training techniques helped us (and continue to help us) immensely as we tried to welcome our 8-week old German Shepherd pup into our family and set us up for success early on. We feel so much more confident handling our pup with Dan's training and coaching. We particularly love Dan's positive reinforcement methods which don't require any additional tools or gadgets and come in handy at home indoors or outdoors. Besides being an awesome trainer for our pup, Dan is a wonderful person in general, and our whole family has benefited from our valuable interactions with him during his training sessions and puppy socials. We signed up for the 8-week package and are enjoying every minute of it! Dan organizes biweekly puppy socials which are a great complement to his training as well. We can't say enough positive things about Dan. We highly recommend Dan and his training approach to anyone who wants to know their pet deeply and form a fruitful, loving and long-lasting relationship with their pup/dog.
