We got 2 new members in our family!! Meet Indigo and Fast Shadow! My kids wanted a pet and my husband and I thought fishes would be a good pet to start with. We got them each a betta fish. This Petco didn't have the best reviews but since we were around the area we decided to stop here and check out their fishes. My kids were so excited to pick out their Betta fishes! We bought food for them but their bowls and gravel we purchased somewhere else. The store seemed well organized and they seem to have almost anything you would need to care for your pet. I have to say that the customer service we received was really good. The lady at the register was friendly and gave us so tips on how to care for our new fishes.

My dog got a really cute groom by Nancy today. He is a mini Goldendoodle. My family is obsessed with how cute he looks. And so soft. One star off bc it took over 3 hours but I think they over schedule her and it's not her fault. My mobile groomer is $125 and this was $130.

Pet wheatgrass. Consistently terrible at this Petco!

Please let me say, I'm more of an easy 'high-rater" customer and feel good about telling others what they do well. I am simply not happy with this Petco, because the wheatgrass for cats is more often than not in bad shape. I've let this go literally for months, in hopes it would turn around. Unfortunately, it has not changed, which is why I'm writing this review. This live wheatgrass is an expensive item, a couple cents under $10.00, and your 'master' if you can keep it alive for 3-weeks with steadfastly following the instructions on how to make it last. If you compare the advertised picture of what Petco suggests you are buying to the uploaded photos (the one on the right was the best of what they had), you will be able to see what they are offering in reality does not fit what is advertised. This is not sturdy and hardy, and is on the brink of turning as bad as the others in the accompanying photo. Wheatgrass should be crunchy and healthy for cats to eat. This is flimsy, not full, soft and wilting. Think of yourself eating a salad you paid $10 dollars for that is the latter of what I just described! Not cool. When asked for a discount on this item, they said they "can't." When I asked to speak with the manager, whom I was told is Nancy, the person told me she is in a meeting. When I asked when she would be out of the meeting, I was 4:00pm. The time was 12:00pm that I inquired. Wow; a four hour meeting. Mine don't even last that long!! Not good business, not caring to be fair with customers, and not caring about the health of their pet-customers to provide such a low quality consumption product. Plus, it actually sticks in there. Yes, it's a pet store; however, I have been in other pet stores that do not smell. That's beside my point though for this review. Shame on you, Petco in Janss Market! I'll try PetSmart next time.

I love coming to this Petco. It is a super convenient location (right in Janss Marketplace) and near a lot of other shops. The staff is very friendly and helpful when me and my dog visit. 10/10 recommend.

Horrible staff. Very judgmental and rude. They accused me and my family of being "unfit fish owners".

When I scheduled with Zoomin Groomin, I specifically explained that I was 9 months pregnant and would be giving birth approximately one week after the appointment. I made it very clear how important it was to me to have my cat properly groomed before bringing our newborn home. The morning of my Tuesday appointment, I was contacted and told that the groomer had been in a car accident and the appointment needed to be cancelled. Of course, an accident is understandable, although given that it was the morning after Labor Day, I admittedly had my doubts about the timing. Regardless, I immediately made arrangements with a local groomer instead. A few hours later, Zoomin Groomin contacted me saying they had found another groomer who could come 2 days later. Because I am extremely uncomfortable at this stage of pregnancy and mobile grooming was much more convenient for me, I cancelled the local appointment I had secured and chose, in good faith, to give Zoomin Groomin another chance. Unfortunately, I deeply regret that decision. The groomer arrived about 10 minutes early, which I appreciated, but the entire service was completed in approximately 20 minutes. When my cat was brought back to me, I genuinely could not believe it. He looked like a wet noodle. His nails had been trimmed and he had clearly been bathed, but he was not properly groomed and appeared to have been barely combed through. I paid $225. For $225, I did not expect what amounted to a bath and nail trim completed in roughly 20 minutes. I expected a thorough professional grooming- especially after I had clearly communicated what I wanted and why this appointment mattered so much to me. My cat is a Ragdoll with an incredibly sweet and gentle temperament. He has never bitten or scratched anyone. Instead of acknowledging that the service clearly fell short, I was given multiple explanations for why he had not been properly groomed. It was also apparent that the groomer could tell I was unhappy when she handed him back to me. At that point, however, I was exhausted, extremely pregnant, uncomfortable, and frankly had mentally tapped out. I didn't have the energy to stand there debating the quality of a service that was visibly incomplete. What disappoints me most is that the entire experience felt rushed and uncaring. I specifically chose a mobile grooming service because I wanted to make this one small thing easier on myself during my final days of pregnancy. Instead, I am now out $225, my cat still needs to be properly groomed, and I lost the appointment I had arranged elsewhere because I trusted Zoomin Groomin when they contacted me again. I genuinely feel robbed of both my time and my money. Days before giving birth, the last thing I expected was to be looking at my still-wet, barely groomed cat and feeling like I wanted to cry over a service that was supposed to take something off my plate. I will not publicly name the individual who came to my home because my goal is not to humiliate or attack someone personally. If the owner of Zoomin Groomin reaches out to me directly, I will gladly provide the groomer's name. I wanted very much to feel comfortable recommending this company. Instead, I am deeply disappointed. At a $225 price point, customers should reasonably expect care, thoroughness, professionalism, and an actual grooming, not a rushed bath and nail trim my husband could have done himself. I sincerely hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and anyone else who wants their cat groomed.

Who let the dogs out?…read more Who, who, who, who, who? No! Not the song from the year 2,000... Literally, there are some dogs running all through the parking outside of 3 tails Dog Salon... Haha True story? Maybe A Hook just to grab your attention?? Probably Will you ever know the truth??? Absolutely Not ;) But hey, you made it this far, so let's just keep on going. Approximately a year or so ago... I was shopping at my local Trader Joe's and in the parking lot (NO, there were no dogs on the loose), but there was a table set up with 2 girls advertising a new Dog Salon that was opening right next to T.J.'s. As we were on the hunt for a new dog groomer (our last one turned out to be a nightmare), we were excited to know that one was coming soon and it was literally right down the street from our house. So I took a business card and asked how comfortable they were with working with Pugs (which are not big fans of getting their nails clipped) to which they replied "they could absolutely do it." Within a week from my initial interaction with the 3 Tails staff in the parking lot, I made an appointment with the gal behind the counter named X.O. Little did I know then, but X.O. would soon be the one who would always ensure our sweet pug named Teddy was in good hands every time we would bring him here for a nail trim. X.O., you truly are the BEST!!! Since Teddy's first nail clipping here, we have been back pretty much every 2 to 3 weeks and over time, Teddy has seemed to get less and less anxious when it came time to go in for a nail trimming. In the beginning, I'll admit that I too would be a little anxious and would nervously wait for him right outside while he was in the back getting his nails done. Nowadays, I just drop him off with no cares in the world and go shopping at T.J's. Within 20 minutes or so, my Teddy boy is ready for pick up and he seems to be unfazed. I truly believe that it's the 3 Tails Team that works their magic and their genuine love for dogs brings a calmness not only to the dogs themselves, but also to their nervous-nelly pet owners (aka me). Other than nail trimmings, 3 Tails Dog salon offers the following: Baths, Grooming, Teeth Brushing, Ear Cleaning, Anal Glands Service and Day Care is also available. So if you are a Thousand Oaks, Conejo Valley local and you're looking for an AWESOME Dog grooming salon, I highly encourage you to give this place your business and support.

Okay so I was initially scheduled an appt for my dog for May 13, let's not forgot I was never given a time to begin with. I text the business since this is how they like to communicate asking if there was an available spot today or tomorrow because I may have a scheduling conflict. I received a response stating I'm sorry, we don't have anything available until next week, so I'm thinking to myself cool I can perhaps reschedule for next week. So I asked what days she had available. Response back was It would take a lot of shuffling of the schedule to accommodate a different appointment for your dog as We service your area very infrequently. If you can, please keep what you have. Okay so I'm thinking to myself why tell me you have available spots and now telling me as a customer to keep what I have?! Strange so I tell her I have a scheduling conflict and may need to change the appt to a different day. Response back was I will get back to you. I'm not sure we will be able to continue providing services for you as your schedule is constantly changing and as I explained, we service your are very infrequently. I'm thinking to myself my schedule isn't set in stone and most definitely not mine things change and things come up. My response was you said you had availability next week and can she let me know the days as I may have a scheduling conflict as I mentioned before. A delay in response but she text back stating I will get back to you. I understand, but if we can't accommodate the changes it might be best to find someone that is in your area more often andhas a more flexible schedule. By this time I'm a little irritated with all this back and forth, just let me know what you have available and I'll decide the rest. Next text response is Our office opens at 9AM You will hear from me after that. Again I'm thinking to myself why are you responding to me before your business opens now all of a sudden you want to communicate at 9 ugh ok. Some Of the things she is telling me is uncalled for so I tell her that. I asked whom I was talking to and she said Heather I'm the scheduling and operations manager. I gave her some advice on being more professional and having a business mindset. No way to talk to customers, well text since this is all she does, someone is giving you business and you want to get snarky? Received another text after I told her about being professional, the text stated I am canceling your appointment on Saturday and will not be rescheduling your dog. No further services will be provided. Have a nice day. I couldn't do nothing but laugh. Truth and fact of the matter is have some business etiquette even if you are texting and accept the feedback I gave you not cancel my appt and being mad shows your unprofessionalism. Less is better over text and all that extra you was telling me wasn't necessary. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. Have a blessed day and work on having a business mindset.
