I get my dog groomed here. Also, now and again buy some products. First, the grooming department is always clean. I get my dog bathed about 2x a month and may get him cut 1x every 2 months or so. There is one gal there that seems to always put in the extra effort with my dog, Gab or Gabby can't remember exactly she wears classes and has dark hair. I have asked her to cut the dog but she has to turn that part over to someone else~that disappoints me but the other girl still does a decent job. The Gabby girl seems to really love animals or at least mine and I like that and that is especially what keeps me coming back. So the store part, for the most part everyone is very helpful. If I am looking for something everyone always knows where to find it and walks me over to it so I am not searching the entire store or even in the particular isle. Products cost a little more here, but I figure it helps with the overhead and convenience of buying it on the spot. so overall I have a great experience coming to this store. read more

Bought a green cheeked conure here on July 25th fell in love and was so happy with him, his name was kimchi, he cost around 500$ with cage and food. There were three birds in all to choose from but he had been in store the longest so we picked him. We noticed he had been sneezing a little and didn't think anything of it when I had read online that birds sneeze when it comes to dust just like humans. He was loving and always wanted to be with me in my hair. I became truly attached, as did the whole family. He died Sept 8th suddenly in my hands as I tried to comfort him. We called to see about the policy for birds and they got our info and called back with no sincere concern just let us know that we were past the 30 day mark for a refund, my husband told me the news because I was too distraught to talk but I was just heart broken not only did I lose my bird I lost A lot of money. I then did research and found out I am not the only one that has bought a fancy bird from petco just to have it die shortly after a month. Has anyone from petco bothered to check maybe call and take a survey to see how many of the birds you sell actually survive? Or maybe your leading them into extinction by selling sick birds that you know are going to die and you just keep restocking ! Maybe you shouldn't sell chinchillas in Southern California, or keep stocking reptiles that just die in the store because no one buys them. I'm starting to believe that petco doesn't care about our pets at all just making money. I miss my bird so much and I'm heartbroken that He's gone but at least he got a good month of life outside of petco were he was truly loved. read more

When I got my first puppy, we came here a couple times a week to bug the staff with questions. My boy won't eat! What should we do?! My baby chewed up the walls! What should we do! My puppy pulls on the leash! What can I do about it!? LoL! I especially liked the guy with the long hair....he was always courteous and very knowledgeable. He always had an answer for our questions (no matter how stupid they were) and went out of his way to make sure we were helped and happy. Yay for long hair dude! My pups love their treats (the ones you can buy by the pound) and their oatmeal shampoo has really helped with my dogs' dandruff problem too lol read more

This review is primarily based on the service that I got from Dylan at this location. For the record, I usually shop at Petsmart. I was in the area and stopped in to look at dog kennels (for training) for a friend of mine. Although I love all animals, I am a cat person and don't have a lot of experience with dogs. I bumped into Dylan while he was re-stocking shelves, he asked if he could help me and I told him what I was looking for. He asked some questions and made really good suggestions. I ended up buying the kennel, pad and treats he suggested. The kennel that I had in mind to buy, ended up not really being the proper type for potty training. Dylan was extremely patient and I felt, really listened to me. I never felt like he was trying to push me into an expensive purchase, but more into something that would have a better chance of working. He seemed really interested in helping me to get the right things. He was very kind and not once did he seem annoyed like so many sales clerks seem to be when you ask for help. I also felt like he knew what he was talking about, that was comforting. I bought a moderately priced kennel which I will deliver to my friend today. I will definitely go back to this location, it is (sort of) near my office. Thank you so much Dylan for your patience and your excellent customer service. Petco is VERY lucky to have you! read more

My wife and I have been loyal customers at this location for the past 5 years because it is near our house. We've never had problems with price matching items until encountering Nick, a night manager. I had a receipt which clearly showed that another Petco had price matched some items from Pet Supply for me a few days ago. Pet Supply was already closed, so Nick could not verify the price with Pet Supply. The receipt that showed Petco had done a price match a few days ago was not enough proof for Nick. I'm not shopping at this location anymore until they hire a smarter night manager or they send Nick back to Petco school. I'm writing to corporate about this. read more

THEY DON'T DESERVE ONE STAR, ONLY SELECTED BECAUSE I HAD NO CHOICE!!!!!! If you love your dog, do not take it here for grooming. This was our first time coming here for grooming, but come here regularly for purchasing food. We had an appointment at 12:45pm and were told that it would be 3-4 hours and provided our cel phone number in case of emergency. We received a call at 2:56pm telling us that our dog was kennel aggressive and they could not get her out of the kennel and that we needed to come and get her. When we got there we spoke with Jayke and Christian and they stated that they did not perform any services as they could not get her out of the kennel. I had to go back to the kennel and get my dog because she was too scared to come out. As frustrated as we are we left without incident. Once we got home and our dog was in a safe environment she ran immediately to get water as there was no water bowl in the kennel. I saw first hand the bowl was outside of the kennel. We called the store to discuss this matter with the manager and asked how long was she in the kennel before they tried to groom her. They stated that after 20 minutes they attempted to groom her, but could not get her out of the kennel. So, they are saying that they left her in a kennel with no water and no phone call to us for an additional hour and a half. This is unacceptable and we will NEVER go back and are filing a formal complaint with their corporate office. read more

I had a grooming emergency with my dog Charcoal who had matting and skin issues other groomers wouldn't touch or that were over charging me. I rescued him so he came to me very unloved and taken care of. I came in and spoke to Christian V. who's eyes lit up when he saw Charcoal. Most groomers were upset and not happy due to how long it would take them etc. Christian V didn't see that and just wanted to help him and make him feel better. When I pick my dog up I was surprise to see the amazing job he did. I didn't really care how it look just that he was not matted. He came out 150 times better then what I expected. Christian V should get a raise or some kind recognize for the care and love he brings this Petco. Petco step up in my eyes and I will continue to bring my business here due to him!! Thank you for everything you are a true angel Christian!!! Also wanted to give Emily a praise she is a hard worker and positive young lady at Petco. I was talking about flea meds with my boyfriend and she gave us the info about the weekend clinics. Which saved us so much money! Thanks Emily. I buy my dog bully sticks and found them at a cheaper price than petco. So I priced matched at petco. I have never had an issue price matching at the cypress location. I have also price matched at this location with no problem except for today. You need a manager to approve it. One manager at this location approved it and I went in today and a different manager wouldn't approve it. Seriously?? Get on the same page people! Horrible customer service. read more

Blonde hair she asked what I needed and showed me her own personal reference really appreciated as a new puppy owner I then saw their grooming salon decided to take a peek must I say first impression is how CLEAN their place was I found out they are under new management and have all new staff and must I say major WOW experience I was immediately greeted by a pet stylist Liz very friendly and inviting she offered to do my puppy a bath at a very good price and last minute she really showed she cared for my pup as if it was her own recommended the right shampoo and explained the process must I say very well done job my pup had cleaned ears smelled good and nails trim and a cute bandana and another stylist handed me my pup he was very friendly and treated me like if I've been coming for years thank you so much Liz I will definitely come back soon and your awesome coworkers read more

I purchase First Shield Trio for my 2 year old dog, applied the prodcuct and immediately noticed something wrong with my 2 year old Shijon. He was very restless couldn't get comfortable. I wasn't sure what happened. The next morning while petting him he ran away from me and hit. His tail was down all day and he just wanted to be alone which is the total opposite of the nature of my dog. He seemed to have a little energy the next morning so I tried put his leash on to take him for a walk when he refused. I noticed a strange sore on his neck where I applied the First Shield product. I immediately rinsed him off in cold water and could see where the product was applied had BURNED his skin. It looks as if the product burned several layers on his skin, it is bad. I called the poison center who advised me to wash the dog in mild soapy (Dawn) water and apply Vitamin E. I hope this helps until I can take him to the vet, the vet is closed today for the July 4 holiday. This is totally unacceptable! The product should be taking off the market. Trust me I will never used this poison on either one of my beloved pets again. I felt I needed to share what happened to my dog to save others from going through this nightmare. DO NOT use First Shield Trio. Petco you should be ashamed of yourselves for selling this poison. Trust me I am not the only one who has a dog or cat that has been severely burned by this product, check the sites - you'll see for yourselves. Petco are you going to pay for my vet bill? I will take my dog too the vet and YES you will be sending me a reinbursement for the costs. read more

I would give 0 stars if i could. My little brother spent all his birthday money on a new cage for his hamster. It was a cage over $50 and when he got home he set it up with "all" the pieces and i noticed there was a hole at the very top of the cage and ask him before he put the hamster it it where the cover was for the hole he said that it didn't come with one even though the one in the picture had a cover. It was already after store hours so there was nothing we could do but try it out for the night. He was sure the hamster wouldn't be able to get out that hole at the top because if he could that petco would have made sure to all the pieces were there. which they should have been!! anyways flash forward to 3 am we heard the hamster screaming and all run out of our rooms and the hamster was in the mouth of our cat. The hamster had gotten out of the hole in the cage. I was able to speak to a manager today that said they would exchange it for us but that isn't gunna take away the image of what my little brother and all of us had to run out to, or help with the vet bill. Lucky the hamster was still alive. I am just so annoyed that they wouldn't be more on top of their own inventory and make sure all the parts are there to the products they are selling in their pet supply store. Where do you go to get a good hamster cage if you can't even count on the pet supply store ones to have all the parts. read more

I absolutely hated my experience here at the grooming department so I decided to take my dog here for their very first visit since I had recently adopted her from the pound about a week before going. I was so excited to to take her there because I had been taking her EVERYWHERE with me to the mall, dog beach, even restaurant. Not a day since I had gotten her has she spent an entire day at home. Well when I first arrived of course I brought all her paperwork and shot records and the guy the JAYKE said started looking at her and (Siberian husky) said her hair was too rough and kept trying to convince to buy her a mud bath and a blue berry facial to help with her fur but unfortunately I didn't have the money to be spending on something that mostly likely wouldn't even buy those spa treatments for myself. Unfortunately I was unable to pick up my dog afterwards so asked if I can prepay and just give him the phone number to call my friend but he kept saying how vital it was for me to pick her up because he needed to tell me how she liked her bath and her overall experience.... she's a dog. I left and as soon as friend picked her up she began to tell me that Jayke was talking about how I was a horrible dog mom and said " (my dogs name) is not the type of dog that you can throw in the backyard and forget about". May I remind you I got her a week before from the pound she was a stray and I felt extremely insulted. He felt so sorry for my dog that he gave her a complimentary blueberry facial. I want to start off by saying that this store is always clean and I have been coming here for over a decade. The reason I am writing today is because the people who work here at this current time are amazing individuals who NEED to be thanked, promoted, and given raises. Customer service given by Jake at the register could not have been better. He was joyful, knowledgeable, personable, and showed attention to my grandson and daughter within the short transaction period. Go Jake! A few days later, I walked in and bought two more bags of dog food only to be greeted and helped by two more amazing employees. Jeremy, the manager, was the best! Thank you Petco for finally getting it right! There had been other years that I dreaded coming in because of a certain employee who was a know-it-all and argumentative. I would give this place no stars if I were able to on yelp...today, 8/5/16, has been the worst visit I had ever made to Petsmart. I called in to see how much the grooming and bath was and told them when I was there at the store not too long ago, a girl quoted me around $65 (after entering a bunch of stuff into the computer) to get everything done. The lady on the phone today had no idea what had happened there, but for a groom and bath would be $58. I made the appointment after I had found the rabies records for my dog. Upon driving there, I was stuck at a broken traffic light and arrived a little late. I entered the door and some girl with crazy eyes and frizzy blonde hair told me I can not be seen today because I was 10 minutes late. I looked at my time and it was only 7 minutes. She even had the nerves to say if I was 2 minutes late, they wouldn't be able to see me either "for the safety of their dog groomers because they can't be rushed". So pathetic of her. Must hate her life. No one had mentioned a late policy nor did they make an effort to call me and notify me to not come in. Wasted my time and a trip to this crappy establishment. read more
