Sadly everything I eat now I compare to that other place. the family was hankering for some greek take out and we didn't want the local place in Hicksville. So we yelped and found Pete. Glad we did. I did pick up here during the pandemic. I order the chicken souvlaki platter lunch special. It was delicious. The Greek salad was great. The lemon potatoes were not oily or hard. The chicken was delicious. The tziki sauce was very tasty. I totally recommend this restaurant! read more

Stopped by with Bon G. for lunch on Friday to try the touted Gyros. Large menu on the wall and we were hungry...we got Spinach Pie which was hot juicy and delish in a wonderful flaky phyllo shell! Also got a Hummus appy with lots of warm pita to eat with. They have a couple of rotating spits from which they care the gyro meat. We went overboard and got 2 Gyro Platters which came with a ton of delicious combo lamb and beef freshly sliced. I got grilled veggies with mine and Bon got Quinoa with hers..both good choices. The accompanying Greek Salad was very fresh and had Feta and a good dressing to top it off. All in all, this was a great experience with fresh delish gyro meat and service was friendly with a smile...We can recommend this place for quick lunch as they have very few tables to settle into. This just became my favorite spot to have some great gyros and Greek food. My barber is in the same shopping center and as we were leaving we wanted to get some food. After seeing this place being sponsored all over social media, we thought hey let's give it a shot. Came in quite early around 1130 am and luckily there was no one there. We took our time examining the menu and decided what we wanted. Got the hot wings extra well done to start and ordered a lamb beef gyro with sriracha tzatziki sauce on the side. Everything was superb. Food was amazing, the gyro was put together extremely well and their selections of sauces were amazing. I will deff come back here and the prices were extremely fair. Friendly staff who wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed their meal by asking for our feedback. Thank god this place is close to my home, I will be back often read more

I've had Pete the Greek bookmarked for quite some time. I noticed that it was on my way to work and made note to stop in for lunch someday. Well, I did and I'm glad I finally got to check this place out! They were hustling out orders and almost every seat was filled during the lunch rush. Ordered a Greek salad with lamb/beef gyro with a side spinach pie for $18.95. The salad was large and topped with copious amounts of gyro, feta, olives, cucumbers, etc. I got two meals out of it! The meat was delicious and not cut too thinly like other places. I really liked that they didn't hold back on the feta and their feta they use was great! Not the super crumbly stuff. Side spinach pie was also excellent, full of spinach and feta and layers of crispy phyllo. Their Tzatziki was very thick and again delicious. Salad came with warm pita triangles on the side. Had a gyro here, and while it was generous with the meat, it was a tad dry. This was at around 4:30pm on Saturday. It definitely needed some yogurt/tzatziki sauce. The sauce they gave was thick and cold. All in all the flavor was good but meat was a bit dry. read more

Pete the Greek in the Old Bethpage Shopping Center Tip: The spinach pie listed under Greek Entrees; is cooked in the oven, but, microwaved hot. Be careful when taking a mouth full and have something to wash it down with. The outside is flaky as it notes on the menu but dry when swallowing. Doug was our server and showed the suggestion of Greek Entrees, the other two listings, were Mousaka Eggplant and Pastichio " Greek Lasagna".The gyro was said to be tasty. I added an extra star as my husband liked that the slices were shaved very thin and he enjoyed the flavor of the fresh made yogurt herb sauce that came with it. The place is small. Seats 15 to 17 on a count of chairs to table and counter. The kitchen is the work in space grill. When we arrived, there was a family of 4 with two young children who seemed to be enjoying what they had ordered. Another couple came in and with much scrutiny surveyed the board of options before ordering. They have call in orders, email orders, off their website and they deliver to areas nearby. There are alot of Greek/Gyro places around in the area, so, competition is strong, and this is another one on the list to try. read more

A recommendation from a friend, and Pete's generous contribution to a local cause, brought me to Pete the Greek when visiting LI yesterday. What a fabulous experience! Lunch started with Avgolemono (egg-lemon soup), perfectly seasoned with big pieces of chicken. Next was a flakey spinach pie, well seasoned with the right mix of spinach and feta. Finished with a Pete the Greek wrap... a generous serving of delicious, gyro meat, French fries, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and feta with tzatziki sauce. I ordered catering for my daughter's 3rd birthday this past Sunday. I want to start with the service... I have "phone phobia" but I called them to place the order and the man on the phone was so so so nice that I didn't even feel nervous to talk over the phone. I didn't get his name but he was seriously very kind and I appreciate that. I ordered blindly, meaning I've never tasted their food before... I see a lot of talk about Pete the Greek on my local facebook group. I've seen them recommended time after time so I just trusted them and took the chance. I am soo glad I did... the food was delicious.. I'm actually eating left overs as I write this. Speaking of left overs... I ordered a few half trays and they fill them up soooo much. I gave so much food away to my family and I STILL have so much left and I don't mind at all because I'm pregnant and do NOT feel like cooking. I still have enough to pack lunch for my husband for work. I ordered a Cesar salad, Chicken gyro (just the chicken) the lamb gyro (just the meat) rice, pita, hummus and tzatziki sauce. They have the BEST tzatziki sauce and the hummus was so delicious as well (and I'm middle eastern so I know good hummus). The meat and chicken was the best I've had out of every Greek restaurant I've been to. Everything was so good even my two toddlers enjoyed it. Honestly doesn't taste like it used to. Quality has gone down prices have gone up. First ordered a gyro, chicken souvlaki platter, and eggplant dip and the kid told me $48... I was like omg, no. I'll do two gyros the eggplant dip and fries. Came out to $40... come home and the meat is lackluster though there was a lot of it, the tsatziki was right at the end of the gyro so it's everywhere in the tin foil as you open and not spread evenly and the eggplant dip was in a prepackaged sealed container like they bought it elsewhere. Picked up Pete the Greek on a Tuesday night for my mom and I. We ordered the gyro platter which comes with potatoes and a side salad, chicken lemon soup and baklava. It came to under $30 which wasn't too bad especially when I got home and opened it up to see the amount of food given. The portion size was great. My mom and I could have just shared the gyro platter and been full. We actually didn't even end up finishing the whole platter that night!! The gyro was delicious and the lemon potatoes had great flavor as well. I also enjoyed the soup which I ate the next day. The only thing I didn't love was the baklava. I would order from them again but next time I would ask for some lettuce and onion on the side for the gyro platter and not order the baklava! Besides that good food and quick service. We recently did a catering order from Pete the Greek and it was amazing!!! I've never seen catering trays as full as these were. Everything we ordered was delicious! The Greek salad was so fresh and filled with toppings. The meats were cooked perfectly and so tasty!! The grilled veggies were fresh and done perfectly!! I live about 20 minutes from them and the food was still hot when I got home like it just came out of the kitchen.
