This was a gem! We were looking for a place for "brunch" and didn't want a "chain place" . The powers of search brought us here! Being a NJ native and in Ft. lauderdale for a concert JJ Cafe gave us "true" diner food choices and customer service. We were able to split both a breakfast and a lunch meal brought out at separate times which Monique was so gracious to arrange the food was wonderful! Now the food we shared the 2 slice order of Nutella French Toast w strawberry & whipped topping (sorry to bust eating to take pictures). The coffee kept coming as well as the smiling face of Monique. Glad I did a search as I would never have know of this place! The business is a smaller restaurant that sits within a strip mall placed among office, industrial and executive airport. Convenient for those in the area. I always try scramblers if they offer, so I tried one of their three. The country scrambler... 2 scrambled eggs with heavy portions of bacon, sausage, peppers, onions and homefries topped with country gravy. Now it said it had cheese in it but to be honest, I didn't see nor taste it. This breakfast came with toast and it didn't disappoint! My partner who USUALLY is the one to place his order first couldn't make up his mind until he seen the JJMC sandwich. It looked amazing. 2 eggs any style, ham, lettuce, tomato and cheese served on a huge kaiser roll. Not a crumb was wasted and we BOTH belonged to the "Clean Plate Club". A great experience here. OMG this was, by far, the best breakfast I've ever had. Why? The coffee was hot (+1), the OJ was icy cold (+2), the bacon was crispy (+3), the breakfast biscuits were hot and flaky (+4) and the hash browns were crispy (as asked for and delivered hot) and the Spanish omelette was fluffy and delectable (+5). I ordered a spinach, egg white omlete stuffed with chicken sausage, mushrooms. I picked the fresh slice tomatoes which were thick and slightly firm. I also ordered the homemade chicken soup for my lunch the next day. The best I've had. Truly. Large and plentiful chunks of chicken with carrots and onions in a perfectly seasoned broth. The only downside was the food was luke warm, but that's because of the distance. I usually order egg dishes from nearby spots and didn't pay attention this time. Well what a cute little place I found. This cute little diner was nice, CLEAN and comforting. The staff was very nice and great service. I was a bit disappointed in what I ordered. I had biscuits and gravy and sausage links. Here's the disappointment. The gravy was not hot and out of a can. The biscuits were not homemade and the sausage links were pre-cooked. While it was ok nothing I ordered that was actually made there. The food the others were ordering omelets and such looked fantastic. I will go back but for something else. read more

Ordered breakfast online from Uber eats. This restaurant pops up as The Breakfast Spot. It's actually part of JJ Café. For a staggering $45 we received two plates that were the same. Scrambled eggs with cheese, French toast, strawberries, and as an add on for each plate we wanted ham. Bacon or sausages free with a meal, but we decided to upgrade to ham, for an additional price. The ham was $3.50 per serving. I was expecting a nice slice of ham that she would probably have on a sandwich. That is absolutely not what was on the plates. What we received were to shamefully thin slices that you could literally look through. (See attached photo).What angers me the most about this is bacon or sausage is free with the meal. But you can upgrade the meal for $3.50 for ham. It would've served us both better to have ordered bacon instead which was part of the meal than paying an additional $3.50 for two see-through slices of ham. Extremely disappointed and will never order from this place again. The moral of the story is: don't order ham from this place. In doing so it will just piss you off. read more

This was the nastiest thing I ate in a long time. I'm highly disappointed. It's sad that my tastebuds were looking forward to this meal then left craving something better. Why do people feel like seasoning with a lot of salt means the food is well seasoned? I mean there's so many seasonings to work with and they chose salt and cayenne pepper. I also ordered hash brown on the side and they decided to serve me burnt hash browns looking more like bits. *sigh* Even the hot chocolate was flavorless. I will not order here again. I can only give 1 star because we didn't even get a chance to eat. We actually never even got seated, or had a word spoken to us. I understand times are tough, and many restaurants are short staffed, but a "hello" or "I'll be with you in a moment", goes a long way. The waitress was literally less than a foot away from us at the door and didn't make eye contact. In the time standing there, I watched a table get their food a little at a time, the wrong order, and ask for syrup multiple times. Another customer was seated when I arrived, but still had not been waited on. One customer went up to the counter, but she snapped at him and rolled her eyes. It appeared one employee was running the to-go orders, in which there was a steady stream, and one for front of the house. Would we be willing to try again? Maybe. It has been years since I have been here, and it use to be good, so I wanted to revisit. Hopefully they fix their staffing issue, so that the employees are not stressed to the limit. read more

This is a hidden gem! The food is good and the service is always friendly when me and my family come in. It's a small cafe but very comfortable. I love the effort they put into the cafe with the holiday decor. The last time I went I got the avocado egg toast on a croissant, a side of ham and tea. They have a variety of teas. I found jj cafe via Ubereats and realized they were close to my house and could be a quick option on the weekends when we don't feel like cooking breakfast. The food quality is normally average, fair priced, and normal cook time however today we ordered two meal for breakfast and we're sadly disappointed with everything. After an hour of not being ready I asked what was going on and was told "we had a problem with your order and fixed it". Almost 2 hours later we get the food basically ended up making food at home . Eggs were dry and had dark brown and black spots. Biscuit was hard as a rock and inediable. Hash browns cold, burnt and soggy. I ordered an avocado egg sandwich and it's literally the best on croissant bread. It's soft and messy but I like to say that a messy sandwich is the best! My husband ordered ham and eggs plus the french toast and now let me tell you I have never had french toast like the ones from JJ Cafe! The bread is sweet already no need for the syrup.
